If you loved the previous books in this series, then you may just fan girl over this one. The opening scene, Vicky is getting ready for her wedding. Of course, with Darien and Vicky, things never go smoothly. It doesn't take long for shenanigans to ensue. This was a quick, fun read. I'm a big fan of Ms. Wetzel's quirky characters and humorous writing. I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Ancient Fire series.

Yet another amazing story

I love this series and this author so much that I pre ordered this book like a month ago! It seemed maybe a little shorter and definitely could've used more Zac, (he's my favorite). I wasn't at all disappointed though. I was captivated from page one. I wish I could afford to get all the books by her, sadly my bank account won't allow that. I read the first book in her dragon series as well, such an amazingly talented writer and well worth the price. I would recommend for young adults and up :)

I think this may be my favorite installment so far. It is really hard to know what to say without posting some major spoilers but Bravo Julie! You did it again! Kindling Flames fans will not be disappointed! For those that haven't started the series yet - what are you waiting for? V""V

This installment off the beaten path

The series takes Damien and Vicky to Hawaii. Fast paced, not a lot of surprises, but a good installment. I see a development, a positive one, in the writing style of the author. It is getting more refined. The story flow is far more cohesive and smooth.

Enjoyed this book. Still cannot stand the minor character Vanessa. I actually find myself skipping over her dialogue.

This clunked for me. Bits of it were the usual nifty, but there was some very, "Wait, how is this in keeping?" Etc. Still a fun read.

I felt like I flew through the story in this book. When I reached the end, I honestly thought it was just getting ready to introduce the rest of the book. Due to that, it did feel a little off putting when it ended, since I didn’t feel ready for it at all.

I did enjoy the content of this story. I wish a little more time had been given to exploring Darien’s past, but am content with what was covered. I still recommend this series!

My Thoughts:

It's been eight long months for fans of this series who have anxiously awaited the next installment of this absolutely incredible series. As any of my readers will well know, I love me a good paranormal series and when you throw in some vampires? Perfection. I absolutely cannot get enough. When I first encountered this series, I had no idea the profound impact it would have on this readers life. Not only is it a favorite of mine, it's become a pillar within the genre by which I compare others of its' kind. Now that an impactful series, right?

Riding the tails of the epic conclusion of Stolen Fire, our main characters Darien and Vicky find themselves on the cusp of their greatest adventure yet: marriage. But after a ceremony that will forever be remembered by the entire supernatural community, Darien only wants some time away from Brenton and all the recent drama that's unfolded. Keen to take his bride somewhere relaxing and memorable, the duo head to Hawaii hoping for a quiet honeymoon on the beach. Much like everything else in their lives, quiet was the last thing they found. An ancient threat looms over the Hawaii vampires and once Darien and his past are thrown into the mix, it's up to quick thinking and embracing his inner demons to beat the clock and not only ensure the safety of Vicky, but to save the entire Hawaiian clan.

Unlike the previous four novels in this series, this one really takes a detour when it comes to setting. Wetzel makes a bold move and leaves all of her side characters in Brenton, leaving the reader little insights to drama that occurs while Darien and Vicky are away. The story focuses near-entirely on Darien and Vicky's trip to Hawaii. A move that, while risky, ultimately proved to only farther prove the true writing talents of Wetzel and the potential of this series. When an author can say goodbye to an entire cast of characters temporarily and still reel the readers in as well as I was, I have to say that is quite a feat. While I ultimately would have liked to see more of the cast from previous novels, I definitely appreciate the direction Wetzel chose with Burning Nights. It's been rumored that in the next novel we'll see exactly what drama was happening in Darien's absence back home. I certainly cannot wait for that!

When it comes to the plot, I really was impressed. It's a fairly quick read, fast-paced read that I finished in a single sitting. In true Wetzel fashion, I was left with some great feelings and greatly anticipating the next novel in this incredible series.

Wetzel did a lot of things differently with this novel and strayed away from the conventional creatures and lore in a move that really paid off. She took real note of the Pacific-Islander history, culture, and lore to craft one of the most pleasing stories I've seen from her. The amount of research she did for this work was evident in each sandy beach, each sunset, and each cultural aspect she crafted. As a visual reader, I was highly satisfied.

While I won't say that Burning Nights takes the crown a my favorite in the series thus far, it was still an amazing fifth installment to the series that left me absolutely begging for more from Wetzel. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with for novel six. Any fan of Wetzel and this series will not be disappointed in the outcome of this novel, it was well worth the wait!

As you can clearly see, I fell in love with Wetzel's writing all over again with Kindling Flames: Burning Nights. It should come as no surprise that I am granting this novel a well-earned 5-star review. This is one of my absolutely highest rated series of all time. If you haven't started yet, you're missing out! Don't miss your chance to add this one to your TBR today. I highly recommend this series to all readers of paranormal, romance, and New Adult fiction.

This might be my favourite installment to date. Vicky and Darien are on their honeymoon in Hawaii and of course, because they swim in vats of salt before they leave the house, trouble finds them.

The reason I love this installment is because it is all Darien. Vicky spent the time sleeping, silent or being the catalyst for Darien's show of power and boy did he showboat! We saw him use more power and recall his history more than we did all series. I don't know if it was the introduction of Kasangi or Shuri and her hidden knowledge but the past, present & future of this novel collided in Hawaii.

Thanks to a perceptive reviewer and Shuri, I finally understood the epilogue from the previous novel and now I am curious as to how far this series plan on going. We might have another Black Dagger Brotherhood on our hands. After all, there is no shortage of magical creatures and story lines but the break from Brenton definitely highlighted this series potential. As long as she doesn't get too crazy with it.

Apart from the obvious that we all figured out when Darien was human, there weren't many surprises but the flow was good and the attention to detail made me believe. What more could you ask for?

Victoria and Darien have a beautiful wedding ceremony and share inspiring and heartwarming vows before the plot really intensifies and troubles escalate. This was an amazing episode in the book because the action never stopped. As new characters entered the story, dangerous situations developed and once again Darien and Victoria were fighting for their lives. I found it hard to put this chapter down and I know I will miss all of these characters once the tale is at an end. I can only hope that there will be more books in the future. I really enjoy reading about Darien and Victoria's escapades as they try to live their lives without drawing attention to the paranormal community. Loved the hints at Darien's lineage and Victoria's connection with the Fay realm. Could be some exciting stuff ahead for both of them!!! Really Exciting Read!!!!!

I am so hooked on this series! I love the way the characters have been developed, the new settings, and just the way this story sweeps the reader up into what is going on. I just can't get enough. At the end of this book, I still have many unanswered questions and I hope that there will be at least one more book in this series to answer them!

The story in this book was good, but the ending just..... fall off, for lack of a better term. I enjoy reading it, at some point I notice that it was going a little to fast pacing for a "final" book in the series and once the last chapter came I was feeling a bit out of sort and confuse. It was like a cliffhanger, but with no safety rope to hang on if I fall.

I know it said in the Acknowledgement that the author had trouble with this one, so I can sympathize. Yet I can wish the ending would have been more...... well more. Unless the author is continuing?

I don't know what it was about this series that kept me reading but it did. totally kept me hooked from the beginning.

there's no explicit sex scenes that is come to be accustomed with PNR and very little violence or strong language.

it was basically a love story that just happened to be with a vampire with problems involving other paranormal creatures.

it helps that each character is well written and you do feel an affinity to them.

honestly- it was totally refreshing, I can't wait for the next book to be out and I hope that the series can continue on the level it has been!!

Love, love, LOVE

I've enjoyed this series so much ! I love the characters....the story line was interesting and I learned about different species. Darien and Victoria were great from the 1st book! Who can't love Zak! Elliott, the twins...the rest of the kiss. And Victoria's friends, and her mother! This was a really good book BUT again I have to say read from the 1st book so you can enjoy the story better. Definitely recommend this whole series! I'm hoping for another book and more about Darien's past.

It was great visiting with some of my fave characters like Vicky and Zak :-) and of course Darien! I love the way this author has developed her characters. One of my favorites is the Faery Queen- I love how she's always full of surprises. In this installment we get to see a gorgeous wedding, a not so smooth honeymoon, a council takeover, and are given the promise of a couple of cute little characters. I love this series, it always makes me smile or laugh :-)

Another great book

This was once again another great book in this series. I don't know if more are coming but it was left where more could come. I really hope we get at least 1 more that lets us know about the twins. While this is an expensive series I have read each book several times and will be reading again. This is a clean sex free series that I really appreciate. I recommend this series to all.

This book was great. It had enough detail and suspense to make me stay up late to finish it. The whole series has been one of the best series I've had the pleasure to read. I can't wait for additional books to this series. The writing and imagination put into this series was awesome and made every book in this series a pleasure to read not just this one.

I gave this book a 4 as I'm hoping there will be at least one more book to end the series.

I absolutely loved this series and can not wait for the next book to come out. I have only written one review on another series that was my favorite. Don't get me wrong I do rate the books i read with stars but I do not always take the time to write about a book or series. That is why this shows that this is my second series that is one of my favorites. I would defiantly recommend this series to others.

After a crazy bachelor party and even a more crazy wedding Darien and Vicky are so ready for a chance to relax on their honeymoon. Of course, nothing is ever easy with them and it seems that life just won't give the two newlywed a break.
Another fun and quick read from Julie Wetzel, which, surprisingly, left me with some questions about Darien and his origins. I hope we'll get some answers to them all soon.
Missed Zak here, things are always more fun with the little horror involved.

Loved it, heard mention of Patrick but ntn more.

I loved Vicky's suprise at the wedding and Darian's shocked reaction. The fairy Queen suprise me I thought she didn't like Darian and was always trying her tricks to mess with him. I loved that Vicky is touched by the fae, a gift from the Queen. I loved that the Queen turned Zak for the wedding.

The Hawaiian council and Shuri the fox was unexpected. I want to know where Zou has gone I don't trust him.

I was somewhat disappointed with this installment of the series. I really enjoyed the other books and couldn't put them down but this one lacked the development and depth of the others. Based on the way it ended I'm assuming there is another one coming and I will likely read it because I'm a sucker for an epic story, but have to say this one wasn't my fave.

I really love the kindling flames series.
This book I only had the feeling that it was to short.

The book only went about Vicky and Darien, I would have expect more from Vicky.
She would have called sue, her friends.

I saw very little of Zak, you would suppose that he would be head over heals for her in her current condition.

I wasn't feeling this installment as much as the other books.

Darien and Vicky finally get married and take a honeymoon to Hawaii, but these two still don't get a break and instead of getting the vacation they need, they are sucked into vampire etiquette and intrigue, both almost loosing their lives. Despite my teen years decades in the past, I have really enjoyed this series.

I hope the Author writes another book for this series.
Over all this was a wonderful series but the end....well that just fell flat.
Why give a revelation but no answers? It was a cliffhanger but not?
It took a bit of the joy out of the series for me.

At least the story was outstanding, but something was missing. One thing was what newly wed couples do on their honeymoon, SEX.
