We have new rules in our house. My son has to earn kindle fire time, one workbook page = one minute of app/game time.
So far, the first 20 pages were overly simple. He is currently in first grade, I wonder if this workbook is meant to prepare a child for first grade as opposed to practicing first grade skills.
This book has colorful activity pages for young children to review their knowledge of spelling, reading, math, and science. Once the book is complete, you get an award certificate. There is a whole page of fun stickers that you can place on the progress poster to keep track of when you finish each chapter!
The sections include reading, math, spelling, logic, history, and science. There is also a section for learning to tell time and to count money, and another section about technology. I really liked the section about measuring objects and learning the phases of the moon.
There are answers in the back of the book to check your work. You can cut out the set of flashcards in the back of the book for testing your knowledge further.
This book has so many cool features! Every single page is full of brightly colored illustrations and information boxes. The activities are really interesting and fun!

I Love the Brain Quests books. They are fun and there are alot of sections to pick from. Now here's the not fun part. THIS WILL NOT BE AT YOUR CHILD'S CORRECT GRADE LEVEL. if you have a prek (4k) kid order a K and 1st grade book! i am unsure if the new standards in education haven't caught up with this book but it tends to not expect enough of kids!!!
ALSO the only way to be successful with workbooks is to do them! when we were looking at these we were shocked at how many "used" but not written in books were on the market. how sad!
