Catching up on Mac Travis in the first of a 3 box set. It's after Mac's supposed death and Mel's rescue and. SHe is now in the hospital in a coma and her x is scheming to get her off the ventilator. Meanwhile Mac is trying to clear his name and avoid arrest and gets himself involved with the rouge CIA agent and his office bound agent who wants to get out into the field. Norm (the agent) has been told to return the baseball player smggled into the country in the last book by his uncle a high ranking Cuban official. Mack is drawn into this and has been given "promises" by norm if he helps. All in all another good Mac Travis adventure for those who like light action tales set in laid back Florida.

My husband and I drive a lot. On our cross country trip to the west coast of the US last year we started this series, and this book represents a gap chronologically that we missed. (We have one more to listen to and we'll be half way through the series.) I mention all that to say there is a sameness in each book, a rhythm or pattern: a love of the Florida Keys, a topic that is regionally and morally pertinent that helps readers take a look at one or more facets of coastal life there, impossible odds, and, thus far, a surviving hero, Mack Travis, and a wonderful non-partner with a 'Cadillac grill' smile who inadvertently or deliberately helps a lot. This book covers (or touches on) Cuba, and on who makes decisions in hospital settings regarding sustaining life and organ donations.

World's Harbor :Mac Travis #5

Mac and Tru end up in another SNAFU, this time smugglers and the CIA are involved, Jules has resigned and a new Sheriff is in charge. Tru's involvement with some less than honorable reputations friends brings everybody down on Mac, Mel, and Tru. Mac's house gets blown up by a missile, his boat and house grabbed by the government and when Mac, Mel, and a friend are shipwrecked in various storm, Mac is forced to take one of CIA Norm's Cuban baseball players back to Cuba in order to protect Mac and keep her alive. Hang on, the surf is rough along with the action. Thanks for another great read.

Another great adventure...this time Mac washes ashore after his boat explodes...authorities presume that he's dead and he intends to stay that way until he can solve the mystery. Mel is in a coma and close to being declared brain dead...will Mac resurface in time to save her before her corrupt former boss has her taken off life support? This adventure revolves around the fledgling relationship between the US and Cuba and someone willing to sabotage the ferry between Florida and the island to create tension. This book is one of the most intense in the series and keeps you glued to your seat! Fantastic production by the author and narrator.

As enjoyable s the previous novels.

Mac and Mel continue their adventures from the previous book. Yes, that was a cliffhanger, but this one picks up right where the other stopped. But, holy smoke, Mel is in a coma. Tru comes to the rescue and helps Mac dig himself in deeper against the law. Plenty of adventure and surprises!

Adventure plus

Follow Mac Travis as the web of misfortune closes in aided by some very nasty personalities. Mac and his friends are truly survivors and more permanent characters are added to the adventure as this story unfolds.

A dang smart new character.

Just when I thought Mac had it figured out, there was another twist! More than usual in this romp through the keys - and beyond. With no-one to trust, he has to go it alone, but he finds support in an unexpected way.

Another good story in this series. It moves quickly, action packed and hard to put down. The characters are unique, some good and some a disaster.

Waste of my time
Not realistic at all
Poorly written! I suggest the author seek an alternate career very soon.

Wood's Harbor

Seemed like the author rushed through the story as it could have used more time in detail for my liking. A good read though with more than a little confusion from the miscellaneous bad actors thrown in the mix. Easy to enjoy the characters and anticipate seeing more of them in the future.

In comparison to the other books, this one did feel a little rushed, but it was still a great read! Throwing in the whole corrupt government aspect and the climate of Cuban relations at the time was really fantastic!
