Werewolf Locke Renfro has spent most of his life hunting and killing rogue werewolves — vicious murderers who take pleasure in causing misery and destroying lives. Including his own when they slaughtered his parents. After a rogue bites his lover, it triggers the process of turning him into a rogue also and Locke must kill the only man he ever thought he'd love. Years later, the fates have finally given him a mate — smart, funny and sexy Mitch Devan. Locke is afraid to seal their bond, though, terrified that it will make Mitch a target of rogues who despise him — who would love nothing better than to murder his soulmate. Mitch Devan has spent so long waiting for Locke Renfro to claim him as his own that he’s not sure everything will work properly if the time finally arrives. But Locke has slain more than his share of rogues; he is convinced that mating with Mitch will put the human at the top of the rogues’ revenge hit list. Mitch isn’t sure that would be any worse than his platonic existence with the man he adores. When a simple business trip lands him in grave danger, Mitch finds out exactly how far Locke will go to retrieve the key to his heart. Loyalties are tested and enemies are revealed, as the Skull Blaster team comes together to rescue their own.
I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but "Old School" French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in Arizona. I've been connected to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn't change a thing about it. Writing has become my full time job and I've never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won't happen soon!
I liked this books, but personally, I feel that there are too many characters in this series to keep up with at this point. In fact I don't recall Locke or Mitch from any of Gasq-Dion's previous books. There are just so many details, plots, and subplots to keep up with. I'm surprised that the author can keep everything straight.
As always, the author didn't disappoint her readers. This book worked well in relation to the others in the series and followed their formula.
Personally, I wasn't too invested in this two MCs to start with. They were more secondary characters for me, even in their own book.
Plus, I skipped all the references and explanations about what had happened in other books/relationships. I think the series is too far along to treat each volume as a stand-alone. Especially with the crossing reference within the three series.
It was nice seen a nice love story and the whole Skull Blaster's troop. Looking forward to the next books in this series (and the other two as well).
The plot is a bit silly. Mitch is an immortal. Why the hell Locke keeps denying his mate??
This was sloooww buuurrnn. Have I learnt my lesson? Apparently not. 'Reluctant mate' are not my favorite plot. It's frustrating, annoying, and so on. But I admit I do love them together.
What I disliked : - My goodness, I do not need to be reminded about other character's story. I've read it all. - I feel like Mitch and Locke are not the MC's. Because there's so much going on in here. - I thought Mitch is dead for sure. So I just jump to the ending to make sure Mitch is alive. I'm really bad at taking character's death. Dang it.

This is a little bit different for a couple in the Skull Blasters world. Locke and Mitch are fully aware that they are mates, they are best friends and spend a lot of time together but Locke won’t complete the mating until he feels Mitch is safe and the rogues have been disbanded. There is a lot of frustration in this story!
There was a previous lover in Locke’s life and although Locke knew he wasn’t his mate he had loved him deeply. EJ wanted to be bitten and turned by Locke and when Locke refused him he turned to another wolf. Unfortunately that wolf was a rogue and Locke had the heart breaking task of having to kill his lover. The past still haunts him which is why he is so determined to keep Mitch safe.
Mitch is understanding and frustrated in equal measures. He knows most of the why and as much as he tries to support Locke in his decision small doubts spring up in his mind every now and again. All he wants is for the man he loves, the man he knows he shall spend the rest of his life with, to claim him and show the world they are together.
There is a slightly scary feel to the rogues in this book as they seem to be getting the upper hand. All of Locke’s actions count for nothing when Mitch is kidnapped. Grab your tissues as Sandrine writes a scary couple of scenes that will have you hanging off the edge of your seat!
If you are new to this series, and it is a hell of long and intricate series, don’t be put off by the number of books. Honestly, once you have read the first one you will not be able to step away. Every single one of them brings something to the world Sandrine has built but I would almost insist you start at the beginning as you need to know the friendships, the fights and the love that these guys have lived through and are still living through.
Another amazing story in this series! Not only did Mitch and Locke get their story and happy happy, we got to see most of the guys as well. Some questions were answered, more questions still to be answered, as the mystery deepens. Lucas showing up was great, Derek, Josh and Mark were turned. And the Titans are showing themselves more and more. This series is hang on to your hats, and fly by the seat of your pants excitement and danger all rolled into one. I love it more and more!!
For once I am glad for at least some of the reminders that Ms Gasq-Dion adds. I honestly hadn't really remembered much about either Mitch or Locke.
I laughed, I cried and sat on the edge of my seat at times. And I was thrilled to find out so much more about the bad guys. I'll be waiting impatiently for Wraith's story.
I understand when a book is recommended as not a stand-alone, but reading this book was more like reading cliff notes. That or the author just cut and pasted parts of different stories to make this one. Then just changed th point of view.
This book has taking me up, down, round & round, upside down and back again. I mean it was laughter, tears, anger, fear, anticipation, passion, romance, and most of all love with a healthy dose of action & mystery thrown in for good measure.
Another great add to the series. FINALLY we get to see Locke and Mitch. We met these two awhile ago but for a few books they weren't mentioned at all, which made me sad. We finally get to see them together. Their story has been years in the making. A few heart wrenching things happen that caught me off guard for sure. Amazing book. Can't wait for the next.
A great story and the good guys come out on the bottom this time. Traitors discovered and an agenda that had been going on longer than expected discovered. New plans made and the faiths intercede twice.
Mitch Devan has been waiting so long for Locke Renfro to stake his claim on him, he’s certain he has developed carpel tunnel! Locke fears that claiming his mate will paint a target on the guys back and Locke has lost too much in his life to risk Mitch. While Locke keeps Mitch at a constant arms-length, Mitch becomes more frustrated with each passing day. When Mitch is kidnapped by the Titans, it would seem that Locke’s refusal to mate was all in vain. Now the question is, will Locke and his motley crew of Shifters and Assassins find Mitch before it’s too late?
This is another one of the couplings in the series that I have been anxiously awaiting for several books now. Mitch didn’t join the team under the best of circumstance; he was an unwilling participant of the Rogue Shifters plans to destroy the Skull Blasters from the inside out. When Mitch almost lost his life due to that bad decision, Connor gave him immortality. Learning that Locke was his mate frightened Mitch in the beginning, but the unwavering love and commitment that Locke shown Mitch, a man that was intent on destroying Locke’s extended family, well… it took Mitch by surprise. And now that Mitch has fully accepted their bond and anxiously awaits being claimed, Locke refuses.
Locke lost everyone and everything he loved at the hands of the Rogues and the Titans when he was younger. Now that he has found a new family and a new love with Mitch, he is hesitant to do anything to jeopardize it. His body, no his wolf, screams for him to claim Mitch. This elite team of Assassins, Shifters and Immortals is about to learn that the Titans are not only more powerful than they initially thought, they are far closer to home than they ever imagined. More secrets are revealed and the team learns that someone they once called friend is in league with the Titans. The game is about to change and the Skull Blasters will have to shift their focus as well if they stand a chance at winning the war that is almost at their doorstep.
There were a few twists and turns in this story that took me by surprise. I have to say, I was on the edge of my seat for the most part. Twenty something books into a sturdy series the Author definitely has to bring something new to the table to keep fans interested, and that is exactly what Gasq-Dion does with Locke and Key. Of course her dry, witty style of writing is ever present. As is the passionate edge she always gives her couples, each different and often surprising. The game has changed and I’m not only intrigued by this new turn of events, I’m anxious to see where it takes my beloved team of Assassins and Shifters.
This is book 24 in a series that must be read in order. I hear you. I know you are thinking there is no way, too many books to catch up on. I promise you it is so worth it. Once you start reading, you won’t want to stop. The stories are all the same, but different, they flow together so well but continually change things up just enough to keep you not only interested, but chomping at the bit for that next book. Definitely a must read series and the best MM Shifter series available to date, in my opinion. There is drama, mystery, suspense, love, angst, passion, laughter, camaraderie and so much more. A little something for everyone I bet.
In all fairness... this was NOT my favorite book in the series. I loved Mitch and Locke... but they were... boring! *sorry* I felt like everyone else had to carry the story because Locke was so busy NOT being with Mitch that there just wasn't anything "juicy" to sink our teeth into to! Now, I like to think that I don't require on page sex to have a book work for me... but, I do need emotions that I can feel in my gut... I don't want excuses why they are apart. I want to feel what they feel when they are in each other's company but still can't be together! Give me something to work with here! :(
*side note* When it comes to entertaining purposes... Nikolai still rocks! hehehe
Yes, this book did drag a bit in the middle... OK, truth... it was that way until all hell broke loose during the last half of the story... then it was "game on" from there on out! :D

Author is getting too typical for my liking. The characters seem to mesh together and the author constantly forgets her own character's names. When the stories begin to meld together and are the same thing over and over again I will get bored very easy and very fast. These two characters have been dancing around one another for too long and it seems as if they would never get together. I almost forgot about these two characters. I liked the characters, Mitch and Locke a lot. Unfortunately, Locke's character began to irritate me. This author has disappointed me like Iris Johannsen has because all the heros, heroins are exactly the same in personality with only slight differences. I'm still only a fan because I remember what made me fall in love with the series since the beginning. The humor was great and that has been gradually losing ground since the Skullblasters. I no longer find the romance cute especially with the constant "winking". Starting to believe the characters are developing eye spasms.
Okay, so I started reading and... wtf? Who are these people? Taking from the clues in the first chapter, I re-read "Irish Wishes", "Betrayed" and "Forbidden". I also re-read "Savage Love" because it was the last Assassin / Shifter book, but it has no immediate bearing on the current story. The scenes from chapter one are from the first three books I mentioned. Once I was caught up on almost three years of storyline I was able to get into this book and I couldn't put it down. I like how all of the characters seem to come full circle at some point and I bawled my eyes out at the climax. This series and its spinoffs only seem to get better and better. I honestly don't mind re-reading a few every now and then because I know the time between each release means the mire time the authors put into the books to make them worthwhile instead of rushing through them to meet some kind of deadli , ultimately diminishing the quality. These books don't diminish in quality and effort and each release is just as good as the last, if not better.
Oh man! I love this series...every book always has something new and exciting going on which sometimes is out of this world! I am in heavy lust with Locke...I just wanted to throw that out lol. This book was another great one by this author and I loved the interactions between all the characters as well as the main characters. There was just that touch of sadness that makes you tear up at the thought of something horrible happening then you get to laugh-cry because you are just happy things worked out. I love how former characters are always in each book and how they interact with our current couple and their problems. It's wonderful seeing everyone and even their kids doing so well. Overall great book, great read, cannot wait for the next one to see what is going to happen!!! So much drama to look forward to lol.
Werewolves, vampires, shifters & warlocks oh my. Let's not forget Olympians, Titans and rogues. Questions were answered but some still are lingering. This series is one of my favorites. Locke and Mitch have been in love for years but fear of losing Mitch by the hands of the rogues and Titans caused him to keep Mitch at a distance. But fate has a different path for them and Locke's love is put to the test. But what lies ahead for our beloved team, with the Titans having more tricks up their sleeves our guys are going to have gather all their power to defeat them.
I've read every book in this series and it seems that each book just keeps getting better and better. I liked the way she brought Mitch and Locke finally together and what a sexy couple they are. Half way through the book I was in shock, I could not believe that was happening to Locke & Mitch, I stopped reading I was upset but I knew only being halfway through the book that something better was going to happen. I like the way she bring back guys from pass books so you can know what they are still doing with their lives. Cannot wait for the next book to come out from the series.
I love this series and have been waiting for Locke and Mitch to finally get together. This one exceeded my expectations. I loved reading about some the guys from earlier books and loved seeing my favorites again. Sandrine writes these guys so well that I feel like I know them and can't wait to see them again. This book has everything--action, intrigue, and love.
First, I have to say that I love this author (I own everything she has published) and especially this series. But the Assassin/Shifter series has started to become a little formulaic; they're in love/mates, but can't be together for some angst-filled reason. I think that is why I agree with some other reviewers that the first roughly-half of the book moved so slow. But then, in true "Assassin" fashion, the book roared to life! All in all, a great read.
I honestly absolutely love this series BUT the beginning was a little slow for me but then the story totally redeemed itself with a couple of twists you didn't see coming!!! It made for quite an exciting read after that!! I think some of the couple's were getting too complacent so this was the right combination to happen!! :-)
Can't wait to see what's in store for these guys next. This was a great story about Mitch and Locke but was also a huge teaser for what's to come. Loved it but almost wish I'd waited until the next ones are out so I wouldn't have to wait in suspense for as long.
This story has the intense action you expect from this series. Mitch has been on his own since he was eighteen. Locke is on his own because he is afraid to get involved with someone else. This is a hot sweet read with plenty of murder, mayhem, friendship and loving. Enjoy I did.
