Samael Aun Weor (which is a Hebrew name) wrote over sixty books, gave thousands of lectures, and formed the worldwide Gnostic Movement, whose members number in the millions. Though these accomplishments are certainly impressive by any standard, they are merely the pale terrestrial reflection of the work he accomplished internally, spiritually. And yet, in spite of his wisdom and generosity towards mankind, he said:
"Do not follow me. I am just a signpost. Reach your own Self-realization."
His lifelong mission was to deliver to humanity the complete path toward the realization of the inner Being, or in other words, the total and exact science required by anyone of any religion, race, culture or creed who wishes to fully and completely develop the human soul. The path he taught is the Path of the Bodhisattva, that mysterious and ancient wisdom long hidden in the bosom of every great religion.
"For as long as space endures and for as long as the world lasts, may I live dispelling the miseries of the world." - From The Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life by Shantideva
I was going through a rough time and was seeing a therapist that would charge me $90.00 a visit. After I started reading this book my therapist fired me. It was a good firing, she said I didn't need her anymore and that it was obvious that I had the psychological tools now. I owe it all to this book and I thank Samael, in this book of Revolutionary Psychology! Samael takes a no-hold-barred kind of straightforwardness that is kind of harsh for most. I'm glad he does though, because this straight forward approach is definitely what I needed to make the positive correction in my life. Most books that deal with "self help" tend to pat you on the back and tell you what a swell person you are, I guess I needed something a bit more honest, to tell me how I really was. Samael specifically writes against the intellect of his readers, which means you have to read with your heart. People are used to "modern education" feeding them clear cut outlined and numbered tables to memorize and follow; for them, this book wont be so easy to comprehend. This book changed my life, it helped me to see myself in ways I unfortunately hadn't before. It helped me to see and correct my defects so that I would lessen the harm and suffering caused to myself and others. Right book at the right time. If you want to deepen your understanding on topics like self observation, mindfulness, meditation, and the True Self, then this book should not be skipped.
Another great book by this spiritually Awakened gnostic author. In the Treatise of Revolutionary Psychology, Weor teaches readers self-observation and how radically transform their psychology and inner being. According to Weor, this present humanity has three percent awakened consciousness and ninety-seven percent of their consciousness asleep.
Weor teaches initiates on the spiritual path who want to experience the great realities of the interior worlds, such as the astral world, the mental world, the spiritual world, etc., one has to become a solar human with an awakened consciousness. To attain this, one has to have the resolution of psychologically dying from moment to moment.
Most of the book discusses the pluralized "I" or ego that we all have within us. Such an "I" is Seth from Egyptian mythology, who is a conjunction of "Red devils" as it was stated by the ancient priests of the land of the Pharaohs. Thus, these submerged entities, which personify the ego or Seth, are the semblance of our own particular defects. Our consciousness is bottled up, trapped, asleep within each one of those entities. Therefore, our consciousness acts in accordance with its conditioning; that is to say, it definitively advances along the path of error. This is because the nature of our consciousness is unfortunately egoic. Weor teaches readers how to annihilate these defects to awaken the consciousness.
As with all this Author's work that I have read, I highly recommend this book. But like many of his books, they are to be studied and meditated on.
If put into practice, the teachings therein can bring about the fundamental change we never thought possible. It can bring to the person a permanent, distinct, palpable feeling of the spiritual - do not think those words mean the normal feelings we experience and naively call spiritual. I refer to a completely new feeling, an intelligence that emerges inside. If one doesn't know of its existence, it is not there.
These days we want everything to be easy, and the monotonous feelings born from our mechanical life make us give more and more momentum to the many pleasures, such that nothing is enough in the end and what we are left with is sorrow. To the great mental afflictions that we have, there is this medicine, but its application will not be like a walk in the park.
If you are the type of person who is not serious about spirituality, who jumps from book to book without ever comprehending anything (that is, without internalizing the knowledge such that it is forever ingrained in the behavior, the practical life), then this book is not for you.
Short but thorough treatment of the idea and need to dissolve the multiple 'I's or egos or psychological aggregates that plague our minds and behaviors. This idea is one of the key tenets and foundations of contemporary Gnosticism and pervades many other esoteric schools but under different names and terminology. It is a core and fundamental to freeing the consciousness from the fetters of ingrained psychological habit rails that have been built up over the course of a lifetime and through deep seated trauma or significant emotional events amongst other causes. If you want to become a better person this is a good start to learning how to go about doing it.
This book is life-changing for me. It provided me with the psychological tools on improving in my academic studies, my relationships and character building. Highly recommend it for all people to read and apply what is written to produce a better change in their lives.
Samael's urgency is understandable given his apocalyptic worldview, but the way in which he refers to people as intellectual animals (not yet human beings) might prove too abrasive for most. In any case, if you are looking for a book to tell you to meditate, self-observe, and dissolve the ego "or else", this is a good one.
will have - 2 listen again - was only fully absorbed towards the end of the book - also i believed i rated this before but apparently not = also the version i listened 2 "at this time above was of pooor quality
Ahhhh, Samael the non-ejaculator. I can't believe I was gullible enough to buy into this stuff, even when I was 13. Just to name of few of the crazy cultish things in this book: that the real Illuminati live in Tibet, that Atlantis was real and their alphabet had 300 consonants, that people have different thoughts that come from different parts of their bodies (that's not how biology works), that infants cry because their disembodied negative emotions attack them in the crib, and that people can decapitate those negative emotions with a giant fiery semen snake that makes its way up your spine and into your brain (that's REALLY not how biology works.) The surprising part is that this isn't even his craziest book. Most of it is just a rant against "modern psychologists" (he doesn't even name one) and a bunch of spiritual-bable bullcrap borrowed from a bunch of different religions with a liberal sprinkling of Jesus. No stars for you!
This is a Gnose's book that introduce the reader to this spiritual thinking. It's an amazing book for those who like this kind of reading. What if are we not ONE, but a multiples personas inside of a mind trying to take control of your really essence? What if you lose the control of your mind some times, would you like to understand that and more concepts? Maybe this book is for you. Be responsible of everything in your life!
