Are we being poisoned? Those fluffy white trails crisscrossing the sky --- some say they are simply water vapor frozen into crystals. Others say they are deadly chemicals, some of which are for military defense, and others to control the weather and the world’s food supply. Are the chemtrails really part of a clandestine government conspiracy? Four people believe so, and claim they have proof, but each of their lives comes to a tragic and mysterious end before they can offer their proof to the world. Join Private Investigator, Walt Williams, as he searches for the truth and looks for clues to explain the untimely deaths.

I have followed Robert Thornhill's novels since the beginning. This is by far the best one yet. He has addressed many timely and relevant issues over the course of his 20+ books, but this subject is one of the most intriguing. I love the way his beloved characters are woven into the stories and have come to look forward to their parts in the intrigue. This subject in particular and the way it's presented is reminiscent of Frank Peretti's books having to do with what goes on around us, can't be proved and yet affects us. The premise is: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. We live in a time when those concepts have become evident if we are aware. I like the way this book ended....it was the only way it really could. You will have to read it for yourselves to find out.
As usual Robert Thornhill has gotten me to ponder yet another possible danger.
I like how Walt called Robert Thornhill for help getting information out to as many people as possible.
Contrails or chemtrails? I certainly do not dismiss the idea of a conspiracy or the danger to our world and our health. The author has links to several sources that are worth a deeper look.
Sophocles once said, “To the man who is afraid, everything rustles.”
After Edward Snowden burst our complacent bubble that our government would never spy on us, just the “bad guys”, Americans have become suspicious of all activities. One recurring conspiracy involves the use of military planes to control weather, genetically modify our food supply, inoculate the citizenry without their knowledge and/or cause metabolic changes in the DNA structures by the use of chemicals, geoengineering for the greater good. Robert Thornhill plunges his alter-ego Walt Williams into the middle of the fray and gives the reader references at the end of his tale so that they can decide for themselves what fact is and what fiction is in this saga of possible governmental conspiracy. Are we becoming paranoid without justification; afraid of all that rustles? Or should we be looking over our shoulders in order to keep ourselves safe? Is it too late to save ourselves? Do we need saving? As Walt and his cronies navigate this scenario, we are led to questions that need answers. No neat and tidy wrap-up for this story. Well written and researched, this mystery comedy novel has a lot to ponder over when the reader finishes. Good job, sir!
Lady Justice and the Conspiracy by Robert Thonrhill
Lady Justice and the Conspiracy may be the most controversial yet. Walt inadvertently gets involved in what appears to be a government conspiracy regarding weather control. With four people dead, Walt suspects poisoning from the chemicals involved. With impressive photos and in depth research this (Story) is frightening and real. (It) Makes me wonder what is happening in our country and world that we don't know about. A true five star read.
I have been a fan of the Lady Justice Series from the beginning and I hope that there will be many more to come, no pressure. The book is filled with colorful characters, usually a subject matter that is close to the Authors heart, plenty of action and lots of humor. I love his motley crew of friends, and only wished that they made a longer appearance in this book, but in times of trouble you can always count on them. Robert Thornhill book's are never boring and always a joy to read.
The 150 Prompt Doctor Who Reading Challenge - Thirteenth Doctor's Companions - 3) Yasmin Khan: Investigate The Truth - Read a mystery or thriller where justice, truth or uncovering secrets is at the heart of the plot.
I really wasn't a fan of this one. I find conspiracy theories so frustrating, so to sit and listen to this audiobook where it talks about chemtrails for 3 hours was really hard. However, the mystery involved was interesting and well written. I just wish that the actual topic was different.
“Lady Justice and the Conspiracy” by Robert Thornhill is perhaps his best composition to date in the highly acclaimed “Lady Justice” series of light, humorous mystery stories. However, “The Conspiracy” is neither light nor humorous. To be perfectly frank, “Lady Justice and the Conspiracy” scared the stuffing out of me.
As always, Walt Williams, although he is no longer with the Kansas City Police Department, finds himself in the thick of the action. Now the owner of his own private investigation firm, Walt faces multiple nameless foes, each seemingly intent on ruining his day.
In tracking down a presumably far-fetched conspiracy theory, nearly everyone with whom he comes into contact winds up dead or missing in action, condition unknown. When Walt’s nearest and dearest is endangered, he ponders whether it may be time to take a long vacation.
“Lady Justice and the Conspiracy”, like all the stories in this series, takes on a contemporary issue of global significance. This time attention is focused on the escalating incidence of a variety of health issues in the United States and abroad.
In particular, how that documented increase in certain diseases and medical conditions may correlate with an increase in the chemical pollution of our air, water, soil and food. Even more particularly, how might a decades-long increase in the incidence of so-called ‘contrails’ in our atmosphere correlate with all of the above.
Could they signify a government conspiracy to control the weather? A defensive maneuver to protect the world from the potential impacts of a massive solar electromagnetic pulse (EMP)? Or have the tin-hats simply conjured a new boogeyman to fear?
Thornhill does not deign to answer those questions. As always, he has done a superb job of portraying all sides of the issue, leaving the reader to judge for himself.
I am compelled to give “Lady Justice and the Conspiracy” my sincerest recommendation. EVERYONE must read this book – no exceptions.
After reading Lady Justice and the Conspiracy, skeptic though I am, I have to admit that I'm looking up at the skies with a whole new mindset. This is due in large part to Robert Thornhill's research into contrails/chemtrails and his well written discourse, spoken thru our old friends, Walt Williams and the gang, which states that perhaps those lines in the sky carry more harm than good. Are government agencies hiding information from us, and to what lengths will they go to keep those secrets buried?
As in all of Robert's controversial books, he tries to present both sides of the story, allowing the reader to formulate their own opinions. I asked him how he got onto this topic. Was it something that he had recently read or heard about in the news? His answer surprised me. Robert said that this was a topic of interest to him for many years. Well over a decade ago, he began to notice those lines in the sky. Not just the passing of a single jet engine, but the lines that formed grids and parallel patterns. He decided then to start researching. What started out as cloud seeding (spraying chemicals into the atmosphere to induce cloud formation and rain) quickly turned into concern as Robert learned more about what type of chemicals were being used and what effects those chemicals have on the environment and the living creatures within. Thus began the seeds of what has become Lady Justice and the Conspiracy, one of the most well written Lady Justice books to date.
Though I am still a skeptic and truly believe that sometimes a contrail is really just water vapor, I think I'll try to find some cover the next time I see a grid in the sky.
Another "GREAT" book by Robert Thornhill! Walt and the Gang never seize to amaze me. They are better than Stephanie Plum and her gang. This time Walt gets involved in a conspiracy with the government. This time they are using military planes to control the weather by spraying chemicals in the air. Pretty scary stuff. Makes you wonder if this really could be happening with all of our recently strange weather. People are getting killed to keep this secret. So are those white lines in the sky are they Contrails or Chemtrails? I will always wonder now when I see them in the sky. I really enjoyed how Walt contacted Mr. Thornhill like they are best buds now. I had to laugh at the visit to the new Italian place they went to for dinner. When the bread arrived with the oil concoction. My hubby did the same thing as Walt the first time he ever had that happen to him. I see a lot of things that Walt and my hubby both do. Seems like Walt likes some of the same shows we do. Great artwork for the cover too! Looking forward to Walt and the Gangs next adventure.
I came across this book when it was for free on a Kindle promotion, and I'm happy to be the first one to review it on Amazon UK. I honestly had no idea that this book was just the last of a long series (I read somewhere more than twenty books, if I'm not mistaken) so obviously I wasn't aware of the main character's background - Private Investigator Walt Williams. Anyway, being hooked by the genre comedy/thriller, I right away started reading it. the prose is linear and clear, I did enjoy the author's style and the story itself. And I can tell that I'll definitely read on more in the future.
ps.After long pondering on my rating, I decided that the book deserves the all five stars although I really didn't like the pictures that from time to time where put in the middle of the narration - guess to help the reader to have a more clear idea of the book's scenario. But yet, this is my personal opinion, and I do believe that the book can easily do without, if not better. Nothing personal, just not my taste. Still, as I stated before, I think deserves the max rating anyway. Well done!
Another enjoyable book in the Lady Justice series that hooked me from the beginning. The lovable and comical characters, friends and tenants of Walt Williams, do their part as usual in helping Walt solve crimes and catch the perp.
This book took on a more serious subject of chem trails, residuals from jets flying over different areas. Walt is given evidence of a coverup by a reporter but when he tries to obtain the evidence to prove his case it suddenly disappears along with the eyewitnesses.
When his wife's life is in jeopardy he must make a decision to pull away and let the police handle this case. But will it ever be solved? Will someone believe the possibility of a government coverup?
I look forward to reading more books in this series.
I love a Robert Thornhill book and this is a great one to grab, murder, mystery and a lot of conspiracy combine in an excellent story. Old friends are back if you have read other novels, if you haven't they are amazing, but this is also a stand alone book. Jack Carson has a lead on a conspiracy he can't wait to report on, but unfortunately his source dies in what is not an accident. That's where the investigative group Walt Williams investigators come in. Run by Walt and his brother in law Kevin McBride, the investigation company is one you want on your side. This is where the adventure and conspiracy begin and readers are definitely going to love the twists, turns and thrills!
THORNHILL does it again with a real suspense filled page turner!!!
Just when I thought I'd read every angle a mystery novel could have THORNHILL gets me hooked on a government conspiracy storyline that hits the mark, then at end of the book he gives you a list links to visit to prove his worth and drive home the reality of the situation our government has placed us in. If you want to be mesmerized and thoroughly convinced of the governments conspiracy tactics to hide the truth from us this book is a must read.
And their hilarious antics are always good for a laugh. Mr. Thornhill manages to tackle serious and controversial subjects while managing to inform and entertain. You can't go wrong with this series, go on and indulge yourself, it will be a wild ride.
This is another well thought out, researched, and constructed mystery that should make the reader wiser and more thoughtful while enjoying a good read.
I really enjoyed this book! It was refreshing and very relatable I felt like I knew every character personally. I am looking forward to read more books by this author.
This book is not as funny as most of the "Lady Justice" series books are. Seems to send a message and gives lots of reference links to follow up on. Still VERY entertaining and worth your time to read, especially if you are already a fan of Thornhill
You people should just read this novel yourselves and write your own review on this novel. I really enjoyed reading this novel very much so. Shelley MA
( Format : Audiobook ) "Wolves disguised in sheep's clothing." 72 years old P.I. Walt Williams had often admired the white trails across the blue sky over his Kansas City home, so was appalled when he was told that they might not just be water vapour but poisons deliberately being sent out as part of a top secret weather defence system. A local reporter, Jack Carson, had been holding clandestine meetings with an air force pilot who had passed information to him but died in a car accident on his way to give him evidence backing his story. Although deemed an accident, there was the suggestion that there was tampering to his car's brakes.I Initially enthusiastic to learn more, Walt and partner Kevin, start snooping around but after another unexpected death, and at wife Maggie's prompting, Walt decides that this is too dangerous for him to continue. But it's not that easy to back out.
I am an enormous can of Robert Thornhill's Lady Justice stories, and this one is simply superb. As always, Walt himself is a great character, sometimes grumpy, sometimes funny, always dedicated and caught up in odd circumstances, and interpreted to perfection by narrator, George Kuch in the first person telling of the stories. Packed with information and equally well characterized secondary protagonists, this is an exciting as well as thought provokingly terrifying episode in Walt's life. And this reader especially enjoys the way the author includes Walt's personal author friend, Robert Thornhill, into the story.
For readers who have not yet met Salt and his relatives and friends, I wholeheartedly recommend the entire series. But if that is simply one step too far, like all of the previous books, this is a stand alone novel and can be enjoyed immediately. Thrills, facts, fun, and an excellent cast of characters all skillfully portrayed by the narrator, this is one not to be missed.
This book might be the most thought provoking book that I have listened to. I love how Robert Thornhill weaves his magic of writing realistic stories that have basis of real life wove into fiction. The characters of Walt, Maggie, Ox, the Professor are all so endearing. The thought of our government doing something with chemtrails is very believable. I also believe they cover up a lot of things. I have been paying much more attention to the sky since I listened to this story. I am so glad that I discovered this series of books. Each story is its own standalone listen, yet mentions something from a previous book or two to give a background for the story. Another tidbit that adds to the books is including parts of songs in the stories. George Kuch does such a fantastic job with his performance of Walt and the gang and other characters. His voice adds so much emotion, humor, and the right tension. I received this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I always feel good when I listen to a book by this author and enjoy thinking about it.
The stories have taken a different turn since Walt has retired from the force and become a PI. Regular rules don't always apply. This story gets in your head and makes you think about conspiracy theories. What do you think about the white streaks in the skies caused by planes? Is there truth or is it purely speculation? Too many murders or presumed murders as at least 1 has not been confirmed. I like how Walt got up in the Mafia's face when his wife is abducted. Either it's purely genius or purely stupid, you decide. Didn't see the Mafia's role in this story till it happened, wow was I impressed! As always Mr Kutch really give these octagenerians a life of their own through his ability to give them their own charactership if that's even a word. Love this pair together in writing and narrating these stories. I voluntarily give this review in exchange for a free copy with honesty and unbiase.
I did enjoy this book but don't think it was as good (or as funny) as some of the other books in the series. The author obviously did a lot of research and it does make you think but I was disappointed with the ending and got a bit bogged down in with the science stuff. The gang was all there to help lighten the load and I liked Walt standing up to a mob boss. Walt is contacted by a reporter who is stood up by his informant, only to learn he was killed in a traffic accident and Walt's old partner Ox was the attending officer at the scene. Hoping that Walt could ask Ox what happened the reporter enlists the 72 year old P.I to help, sending them both down the rabbit hole into conspiracy world of government cover ups and black ops. When informants, investigators and whistle blowers start to disappear Walt starts to question if it is worth it. George Kuch is once again an excellent choice and brings the story to life.
Wow! How Robert Thornhill keeps turning out these wonderful books is amazing. This is book 21 in the Lady Justice series and it is amazing. I really love how Walt the main character in the book turns to Robert Thornhill to help get the word out to the public about the chance of a conspiracy in our government to change the food supply, weather and possible spraying of chemicals for defense. So Walt wants Robert to write a book with this as the subject and what am I reading :-) Plus now I will never look to the sky's in the same way again. This story will continue in book 22 can't wait. As always George Kuch does an incredible job of narrating this book. As I have reviewed before he IS the voice of Walt. Thank you Robert for the chance to review this audio book. This is my honest review the only kind I do.
Lady Justice and the Conspiracy is my twenty-first enjoyable read/listen from author Robert Thornhill. Another entertaining clean read, filled with puns & one-liners, as always dealing with current social topics. Each book in the series seems better than the last as Thornhill continues to up his game. Narrator George Kuch again adds greatly to the listening enjoyment with his wide variety of entertaining voices & inflections, Kuch IS Walt Williams! I’ll definitely be reading more from Thornhill! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Since I own both the Audible & Kindle versions I was able to follow along while being read to. Up next is Lady Justice and the Conspiracy Trial. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I'll admit that I'm not really into hearing about conspiracy theories. I guess it's that apathy the author speaks of. However, there are a lot of "coincides" pointed out in this latest installment of LJ. I wasn't unfamiliar with this concept, as I have friends who truly believe there is so much more to this than "plane condensation." I hadn't really given it much attention though, because again, apathy. So to say my curiosity is piqued would be an understatement.
And can I just say again that the way the author writes his own cameos into some of these books is awesome. This time, it was nothing short of brilliant!
Geoengineering is the food for thought in this episode. Imagine governments having the capacity to control the weather to use as a weapon. Theorists say experimentation has been ongoing for decades. We are experiencing the negative impacts now via global warming, droughts, floods, etc. Thornhill is reminding us that we can't fool with Mother Nature. Once this planet is destroyed, then what?
Scary stuff, this. Some of it is verifiable, some is theater, but all of it deserves consideration. The investigation into possible governmental wrongdoing is well done, and the murder investigations are really good. Plenty of plot twists and the humor we expect and love make this another Must Read in this excellent series! George Kuch continues to be excellent as narrator, but I find myself running it at 1.2 lately.
