"Your problems don't define you; they refine you". Dr. Cindy Trimm has shown in her book Prevail that anyone and everyone can turn their problems into opportunities. She uses a diamond as her example: it becomes a beautiful jewel through immense stress and we can also become beautiful through our problems.

This book is divided into four parts and each division covers an attribute of a diamond. The value of a diamond is determined by its Clarity, Color, Carat and Cut. Dr. Trimm encourages the reader to take stock of his/her problems and then work to change them. If we can determine our true worth and find our life purpose, then all of us can can achieve the goal of removing doubt and finishing well.

Cindy Trimm believes that all of us are "diamonds destined to shine" and through the use of scripture and inspirational quotes, she helps us to work toward achieving our true potential.

Reviewing this book has been especially beneficial to me because my family has recently been dealt problems that have been extremely stressful. This author's encouraging words and helpful instructions have helped me see that these trials are helping me refine my beauty in God's eyes.

Thanks to The Book Club Network for furnishing this complimentary book in exchange for a review based on my honest opinion.

I realized as I read PREVAIL by Cindy Trimm that with books like this, I really don't like them to be digital. There is so much meat to this book and I do not get the meat reading it online. I am going to have to purchase a print copy of PREVAIL and re-read it. I feel as if I haven't read the book at all. I can read works of fiction digitally, but non-fiction and I don't work well together with ebooks. I guess the good news is that I learned that while reading PREVAIL. . . .

Cindy Trimm is such an inspiring author.  Every book of hers that I read I fall in love with. She has such a way of words that you feel you are right next to her and she is personally talking to you.

This book was particularly beautiful.  Trimm has a way of connecting your personal journey with that of a diamond in the way that you have to go through the fire and undergo a lot of pressure in order to be made into something beautiful.  She talks about problems, perspective, purpose, and perseverance as her 4 main topics, each with their own sub-heading and topic about it.

I highly recommend this book if you are someone who is unsure of who you are or Whose you are, or a person who is struggling to get through to the next things, or even if you are a person who wants to grow deeper in the Word and what God has to say about you, this is a must read!  There were so many points that I found that I can apply to my own life that I was constantly underlining and writing different things in the book so that I could go back to them in the future when I read it again.

I received this book for free from The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review. I have also posted on Amazon, bookfun.org, and my blog: https://booksreviewed4you.wordpress.com/

To be honest I did not want to read this. I thought it would be one of those cheesey, self-helpy, christianese books that I read when I was younger. But my book club leader chose it and I am glad she did. There are so many great biblical references, combined with historical examples to help get home the message that you can grow through difficult times. There is a lot to put into practice and it really gets you thinking. It's very educational and I love all of the quotes.

Definitely got a lot out of this book. I always enjoy how Ms. Trimm uses things we are familiar with to help us get closer to God. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a tool to help them get more information and get closer to God.

Has good information and principals...ties to scripture and has a great use of illustrations and quotes. However, I found it to be very repetitive and found myself skimming through the last half. Depending on your season of life, I think this book could prove to be a valuable resource.

The metaphor of a diamond that the author used was interesting. The book became repetitive. Because of this, I didn't read the last chapter. I still intend to keep it as a resource. There is a list of affirmations, a prayer, and a poem in the epilogue that I will use regularly, however.

Prevail by Dr. Cindy Trimm is the third book that I have read by this author and just when I think that she has said it all, I am wrong. Dr. Trimm has the amazing ability to have you take some of your life’s most heinous and hideous events and use them to bring success and fulfillment in your life.

In this book, you will learn to turn problems into opportunities so no pitfall will throw you off course, by seeing your current challenge as a doorway to a new level of success, break through barriers that keep you from enjoying life and loving the real you, and develop a winning perspective that positions you to prosper and wake up every morning with a sense of meaning, purpose, dignity and hope.

This book, just like her others is full of sound biblical advice and strategies. As always I recommend Dr. Trimm’s book as a great resource that is to be studied, not just merely read and relegated to the shelf. You won’t be disappointed.

Review Title: Persevere for Strength that Shines (review of Prevail by Dr. Cindy Trimm)
Reviewer: Janice S. Garey
***** 5 Stars

As with previous books I've read by Dr. Trimm, I found this book to be excellent. She gives such a positive message built upon God's truth that you want to read more and more of her writings and thoughts. She never presents a problem without giving a method to proceed to overcome it. She has a talent for getting to the heart of matters and helping or encouraging forward movement to solution by God's standards.

Her books have a wealth of great quotes that make the books worthy of purchase for that aspect alone. At the end of the book she has about two and a half pages of "Daily Declarations and Confessions of Faith" that can be used for at least a month daily to speed up processing positive thoughts and related actions. Dr. Trimm definitely wants to use her influence to help people live their best lives and fulfill God's purpose for their lives.

I thank bookfun.org, the publisher, and the author for giving me this book in exchange for my honest review after reading the book. I highly recommend this book and all others I have read by this worthy author. If you are feeling a little down about life and don't know what to do to get up and going in the right direction, then read this book. You will be on your way to prevailing through life's difficulties when you are prompted by Dr. Trimm to do the next positive move by making sure your thinking fits your best possible life.

Another winner in the Empowerment Series is Prevail by Dr. Cindy Trimm. Her books can be life-changing indeed, if put into practice. Encouraging, uplifting, motivating, and informative, the author includes quotes from famous people whose words/thoughts inspire or challenge our views or perspectives.
Interesting stories/examples from scripture and today inform and reinforce her ideas. (Olympians—Venus and Serena Williams, Usain Bolt—and also history-makers who proved themselves after failure or being told that it couldn’t be done, and more.)
I underline and highlight so many thought “gems” and affirmations in this author’s books. She concludes the book with 33 Daily Declarations and Confessions of Faith (with scripture references) to say twice daily to actively journey to prevail. With these excellent books I advise to read, reflect, repeat. There is so much packed into these wonderful reference guides and encouraging words that I highly recommend. I received this book through TBCN in exchange for an honest review.

This is another encouraging book from Trimm. Even though we'd like a trouble free life, God's design is that we experience problems. Trimm does a very good job of giving us a practical strategy to survive and thrive and come out shining like a diamond. She uses the analogy of a diamond as a framework for her book. It is full of encouragement and a good book for anyone facing problems. Trimm sees problems as opportunities for growth, for finding personal strength, and much more. A good book to read.

I so enjoy reading books by Dr. Cindy Trimm. I’m glad I had the privilege to read Prevail. I love the way she writes - I feel like her friend and she writes as though she is traveling the road ahead of me but helping me along the way. She brings wisdom and practical advice along with friendship and hope. Her books inspire, encourage, and help me see the big picture.

This is a book that is great for individual devotions as well as a Bible study, book club, or a study for two or three people. Great book!
