'So in this adventure, we meet Dr Zachariah Marwick. Dear Tom finds out that he has started a special clinic for people with mysterious lumps but how come he knows exactly what they are before he's even examined them? And why is he so insistent that his patients join an exclusive speed-dating club? Trans-temporal adventuress Iris Wildthyme, meanwhile, is not herself. She's scared of her own shadow, it seems. Indeed, she's even afraid to leave her wretched bus. I, naturally, am terribly worried about her and about Tom as well. You see, he seems to have straw coming out of his head, like old stuffing. How can that be? And then they have the temerity to accuse me of getting all emotional about everything? Me! I ask you.
Anyway, together we three brave heroes must face demons from Iris's past, as an outrageous presence begins to assert itself over reality one that seems to have been reading far more Dennis Wheatley than is strictly necessary.'
Stephen Cole (born 1971) is an English author of children's books and science fiction. He was also in charge of BBC Worldwide's merchandising of the BBC Television series Doctor Who between 1997 and 1999: this was a role which found him deciding on which stories should be released on video, commissioning and editing a range of fiction and non-fiction titles, producing audiobooks and acting as executive producer on the Big Finish Productions range of Doctor Who audio dramas.
Cancer patients, ancient demons, speed-dating, the Wizard of Oz, and gin. Not sure if it makes sense, but it's one heck of a ride. Again, Panda rather steals the show.
This started with fun banter but devolved into silliness regarding virginity and such. The "r" word (for assault) is also yelled out of the blue, so be warned.
Yet another madcap not quite sane adventure for Iris and her friends. An 'interesting' nod to a classic move - not saying which one as that's a spoiler - and as usual Panda steals the show and gets the best one liners.
