This collection gathers three Captain Lacey Regency Mysteries into one bundle.

Lacey does so to find the problem far more complex and dangerous than he anticipated. Meanwhile, he has a very important appointment to keep with Lady Breckenridge.

Brings together books 7-9 of the Captain Lacey series: A Death in Norfolk, A Disappearance in Drury Lane, and Murder in Grosvenor Square, plus an excerpt from The Thames River Murders (October 2015).
Three most excellent books economically packaged for uninterrupted reading. No wonder the average life expectancy was so low with murderers around every corner. Having Captain Lacey send them to the gallows makes an impact.
One of my favorite mystery series, great plot and excellent writing. And Captain Lacey and Donata’s love story feeds my need for a little tasteful romance on the side.
Enjoyable characters and satisfying mysteries. Particularly like that the characters must confront their expectations to progress. The Captain becomes more nuanced as the series continues.
I enjoyed the stories in this collection. Captain Gabriel Lacey has developed into a fully rounded believable character; the author is also very good at keeping her main secondary characters to the fore. As with most series, there is a necessity to divulge enough of each character's backstory for new readers to keep up; this sometimes means there is a bit of boring repetition for readers who have been along for the whole ride. The good news is that the author in this case does not allow these backstories to bog down the action. All the mysteries in this collection were intriguing and kept me guessing and I love all the period details. Highly recommended.
15 Stars...5 for each of the 3 Mysteries in this book
Ms. Gardner's mysteries keep getting better and better. Capt. Larry's talent for solving mysteries has gotten him a solid circle of friends. I love each new book with the twists of plots and the rich description of Regency life. Ms. Gardner is a literary treasure.
I enjoy this series, and look forward to the next two. While these feel historically accurate and plausible, as with all mystery series, the reader must suspend disbelief that "our hero" and his friends and family can survive so many perilous situations. But that is the pleasure of fiction-it is imagined.
I will stick to my assessment that Captain Lacey is a regency era Jack Reacher. I thoroughly enjoy these mysteries and seeing him adapt to the monumental changes in his life along the way.
