Jackson Landis kept secrets. It's how he got girls into bed, the grades he wanted, and a reputation for being the life of the party.
But now he's dead, and no one knows how or why. Especially not the four girls whose secrets he protected. Secrets so scandalous they could cause each girl to lose something valuable. Secrets so dark, someone may have killed for them.
The four girls - a campus drug dealer, an overweight bookworm, a closeted lesbian, and a spoiled princess have one thing in common – they’re terrified the things Jackson knew may not have died with him. As Reggie, Haddie, Val, and Livie try to piece together her own role in Jackson’s death, each girl realizes Jackson had some not-so-pretty skeletons of his own.
Which makes a girl wonder, who really wanted Jackson Landis dead?
Unlikable characters, weird story and not-so-readable writing. I don't know what the girls saw in Jackson who is,to be completely realistic,a huge asshole who blackmails everyone.Did he even love any of the girls? The only characters I kind of liked are Marcus and Livie. Also,I've just realized that this will be a series which makes me sad for wasting my time reading this since I won't continue with the series.I honestly don't care who killed Jackson. The douche deserved it.

Kiss Kill Love Him Still is a mystery that reminds me a little bit of a grittier version of >Pretty Little Liars in a college setting. Everyone’s trying to figure out who killed Jackson and why. The characters in this book aren’t sweet kids, though. (The characters range from drug dealers to thieves to … well, murderers.) But they all have one thing in common – Jackson knows their secrets. Oh, and several of them are in love with Jackson – or at least they were before he died.
What fed my addiction:
The secrets. My favorite aspect of this book was the unraveling of the characters’ secrets. Even more intriguing than the mystery of who killed Jackson (in my opinion) was the mystery of why. All four of the main girls have something major to hide, and Jackson was a collector of secrets. But he didn’t actually keep them completely hidden. He doled information out as he saw fit – and most of the characters didn’t realize that was happening until after Jackson died, so they not only had to deal with his death, they had to wonder who knew their biggest secrets – and how they could keep the rest of the world from finding out.
Interesting characters. Like I said, the characters in this book are not exactly sweet and cheerful people. They weren’t even all that likable a lot of the time. But, they were fascinating. I wanted to know what made these girls tick – why they did the things they did and how they’d become these less than stellar people. I even related to them – some (which is a tall order when we’re talking about drug dealers, prostitutes and kleptomaniacs). One thing I can definitely say about the characters in this book is that they kept me guessing!!
The mystery. Of course, I wanted to know who killed Jackson. And why. There were plenty of reasons to kill the guy, which brings me to my negatives …
What left me wanting more:
Why does anyone love Jackson? I have to admit that Jackson himself confounded me a little. Why anyone would be in love with this guy is beyond me. I mean, I guess I could see that he was charming sometimes – he had a larger than life personality that drew people in. And apparently he was really good in bed. But he was a jerk. And no matter what new thing the girls learned about him, they still couldn’t quite let go of their feelings. Which I guess is realistic in a lot of ways, but I just wanted to kind of slap them and tell them to wake up – the guy they were mourning was not really worth it!
This is a series!!! Okay, I went along thinking the whole time that I was reading that this was probably a four star book for me. While none of the characters were particularly likable, the book was entertaining and intriguing and I was getting into the mystery aspect. But, then I got to the end. Just when I was pretty sure I knew who the murderer was, the authors threw in a bunch of random clues that led to different people and ended the book! Now, here’s the thing – you are all forewarned, so hopefully this won’t bother you, but it totally threw me for a loop and made me grumpy about the whole book. I felt like we were coming to a conclusion and I was going to find out what happened … and then I didn’t. And I guess my main problem is that I’m not positive I liked these characters enough to hang out with them for another whole book (or who knows how many more books) to find out what happens. But I probably will.
So, now that you know this is a series and you won’t be discovering who killed Jackson in this first book, you should be good. Read. Enjoy. Plan to read more. I give this book 3/5 stars.

Reggie, Haddie, Val, and Livie all have one thing in common, Jackson Landis. When Jackson turns up murdered the girls all have their own reasons to want to find out what happened and their own secrets to protect. Reggie is the campus drug dealer, Haddie the quiet one from the school library, Val the girlfriend of Jackson's best friend and Livie was Jackson's girlfriend. How and why did all these girls fit into Jackson's life and just who killed him?
Kiss Kill Love Him Still is told from alternating points of view from Reggie, Haddie, Val, and Livie. None of the girls are what you would call upstanding students, everyone involved had reasons to want Jackson dead themselves. Full of secrets and lies and the intertwining lives of all those involved with Jackson it's easy to get caught up in the story and wanting to know just what happened the night of Jackson's death. Unfortunately I didn't really care for the ending of the story but I did enjoy my time reading until then so I debated on the rating for this one. Had it a better wrap up I would of rated a bit higher.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Murder. Mistresses. Secrets. Of course, these are the elements that usually make up your average mystery novel, no matter the target demographic. However, what the authors do with these basic building blocks can really make or break the success of the book. We all know this, but, you know, it really says something about the quality of the book when a reviewer sits on a completed book for about a month and a half before they can finally muster up the words necessary to sharing their feelings on what they've read.
Kiss, Kill, Love Him Still follows the immediate aftermath of a small college campus following the death of a prominent student and wannabe lothario, Jackson Landis. Immediately thrust into the fray are four young women -- Reggie, Val, Livie, and Haddie -- who were tangentially related to him in life, so of course, logic states that they must have something to do with his death. Alliances are formed across the young women, but are they really in it to find out what happened to Jackson, or are they really wanting to make sure their secrets stay hidden?
One thing I can say about this book is that it was a quick read. I read through the book in about two days on rides back and forth to work on the Metro. If you're honestly looking for a easy, swift read to help boost your Goodreads reading challenge numbers, this may be the one for you. If you want something that's actually going to engage and challenge you, you may want to skip it. This was not a page turner in the traditional sense where I just desperately needed to solve the mystery, but one in which I was often left wondering when there was actually something at stake for the characters involved. Spoiler alert: I had to start this book twice, as I put it down for a week or so for Order of the Phoenix, and could not, for the life of me, remember what happened previously based on where I picked up.
Plot issues aside, I found the four main characters to be almost indistinguishable in both physical description and personality, with the exception of "homely" Hattie, who just happens to have a few extra pounds on her body than the other three main characters. They're all the same kind of cookie-cutter, shallow, bitchy stereotypical female character that is almost downright offensive. The only other thing that's supposed to serve as a distinguishing factor between the four young women is the individual secret they all harbor; however, that's not really helpful, as it then reduces them down to "that klepto girl,""the druggie girl," and so forth.
I also just want to vent about the problematic nature of Hattie's portrayal. Because she's "the fat girl," "the plain girl," she's dismissed by the other three as far less threatening, just as more full-figured women are in real life. While, granted, she does at least prove herself as being the most dangerous one of all in terms of her resourcefulness, the other characters in the book seem almost insulted by her mere tangential presence in their social circle. Furthermore, despite being a book about four young women, it barely passes the Bechdel test, as roughly 90% of all of their conversations center around Jackson and his role in their lives. Granted, they are trying to solve his murder, but one would hope that this would also provide ample opportunity for the women to actually get to know one another to work like a team.
There have been a few instances of books written by multiple authors that are successful in telling their story cohesively, despite writing from opposing voices. (Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Levithan comes to mind.) However, this is not once of those times. The writing between Blair and Miller often comes off as disjointed, which contributes to the poor character choices. While, yes, they do write from the perspectives of four different characters, again, the characters are so wildly similar that it seems like it was a deliberate choice as to make transitioning between the authors easier. However, because their individual writing styles don't mesh well together, it makes the overall reading experience kind of infuriating.
Truth be told, I just feel pretty let down by this book overall. I had a lot of high hopes for it when I originally requested it from Netgalley, especially after hosting a book blitz one day with Xpresso Book Tours before obtaining a copy. However, with poor characterization, an ultimately boring plot, and deeply flawed execution between two authors, I just found myself bored and confused. What a weird state of mind to be in.
I’m not usually a fan of murder mystery books – I think series' like pretty little liars have given them a bad name – and before you start getting all cranky on me, let me explain… I can’t stand books that seem to be out to make a quick buck – no real story progression or character development but leave enough suspense so you want to read the next in the series – 15 books later and you still have no idea what’s going on. YA murder mystery books tend to follow this pattern and its infuriating! I want real depth and character struggles if you aren’t going to reveal the murderer in the first book. Kiss, Kill, Love Him Still delivered on this!
The characters were all very distinct from one another and had a lot of depth – they were so much more than their stereotypes all with their own struggles and demons and I loved this about the book. The girls were both strong and vulnerable each in their own way and really touched on some hard-hitting issues, drugs, sex, sexuality, abandonment, loneliness, and fear of the future. I loved a couple of the characters and really despised others, but they were all individuals and the book was trying to evoke those emotions out of me. Interestingly I think that not everyone will love and hate the same characters – I think we will all relate differently to them and their problems and that makes this a great book.
Jackson – the dead guy – damn did I love him! Often I wondered why – they guy was a jerk and two-timing with a bunch of girls, but he just had charisma. He understood the needs of each girl and brought out the best or true self of each of them. There were times where I too wanted to hurt him for his hurtful and manipulative ways but man did I also love him fiercely at the same time. I did question whether I was fatally flawed – or maybe the authors just nailed ‘that’ guy – we all know him. The one who oozes charisma and is undoubtedly every girl’s fantasy even though we all know he would never remain faithful – but to have him for just a few fleeting moments is worth everything.
I have my suspicions to who the killer might be and I’m hoping we aren’t strung along too much. The characters are just amazing and it would be a shame if this series turned into the never ending – you’ll never know who the killer is – series. There are some pretty full on scenes in the book so it’s aimed at an older YA audience. Overall I was pretty surprised how much I actually liked the book. If you, like me, had given up on YA murder mysteries I recommend you pick this one up and give the genre another go.
First things first: I received an ARC through NetGalley. The book came out this month and if you like something like that, you should totally check it out.
I'm still really unsure about the book. I really liked the story and the writing. The whole book was just a quick and easy read. I'm (still) a huge fan of Pretty Little Liars and the book reminded me a little bit of the show.
I think what the story lacked was at least one likeable character. The victim, Jackson Landis, from what we heard from the girls, how he treated them and blackmailed them, nope, not likeable at all. And then we have the four girls, Livie, Reggie, Haddie and Val. They all got on my nerves thinking they were better than the other girls when in fact they are just as bad. I had my moments where I really liked Val and Reggie. The drunk and the druggie. I don't exactly know what that says about me. But oh well. I just felt like they were a bit more likeable. There were also some minor characters like, Marcus - Reggie's best friend, Paul - Jackson's best friend and Val's boyfriend, Haddie's farther and Livie's mother. Even these four were just really unlikeable for me.
And then we have the fact that I thought this would be a stand alone but at the end of the book I found out that there is another book coming. I don't feel like I'm really that invested in the story to pick up the next one. Like right now I feel like I wanna know who killed Jackson. But I'm pretty sure that by next week, I will have forgotten about it.
All of that being said, it just really wasn't my taste. I really want to check out other books by the two others, cause like I said, I really like the writing.
~ Book provided by NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion ~
Unlikeable characters, a weird story and a jerk of a dead guy will you get, should you decide to pick up this book.
The synopsis of this book sounded so good, sadly the book was not.
I didn’t care for the characters, not even one of them! I don’t even remember all the names of the girls and I just finished the book half an hour ago. The only name I remember is Livie, because she was annoying, a diva and crazy.
The dead guy, Jackson, or Jax… I don’t really see what they all saw in him. He was a manipulative jerk, who was two-timing with a lot of girls. I really couldn’t care less about his death and persona.
This whole mystery around his murder was quite boring and I skimmed a lot of pages, just to figure out if I was right with my suspicions. I think I am.
The only good thing about this book is that the four girls finally made a deal in the end to find out together who the murderer is.
I just hope for everyone that actually enjoyed this book that the series won’t turn out to be a dozen or more books long. Yes, I’m looking at you PLL books.
Jackson Landis is every girls dream and he made sure he took advantage of that. He traded his body for their secrets even if they didn't know that at the time. So when Jackson is found dead on the College campus everyone is on their guard as they realise exactly what dirt Jackson had on them which soon becomes apparent he didn't keep to himself.
While a number of people had their reasons for the involvement in Jackson's death, there were four girls who had much more motive to have him dead:
The Bitch - Valerie. Girlfriend of Jackson's best friend, Paul, and once a very close friend of Jackson's girlfriend, Livie. Whilst Val didn't sleep with Jackson behind Livie's back, he held a huge secret for Val so he blackmailed her to keep her on his side.
The Princess - Livie. Long-term girlfriend of Jackson who was completely oblivious to Jackson's unfaithful ways. Jackson and Liv were fortunate with their lifestyles but it didn't stop them going out and doing unlawful things.
The Nerd - Haddie. The innocent library attendant who has a pact with her date to stay a virgin until marriage - she just has to prove she can do it through College, and once graduated the trust fund is hers. Jackson soon discovered her secret...trading sex for college paper writing.
The Druggie - Reggie. The well-known campus drug dealer (well-known by students and not the law) who slept with Jackson in return for free drugs.
These girls all discover each other after Jackson's death. Among them, they all suspect the other has to be the killer...but which?
What did I think?
I loved this book, I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. It is a classic 'whodunit' plot but such a thrilling read. The way Blair and Miller write together is incredible, the whole story is completely seamless, you really could not tell that two authors have worked on this novel.
I definitely think that this book had a hint of Pretty Little Liars and John Tucker Must Die. Maybe a bit darker than the two but definitely on the same lines. It was an original story and not too unique compared to others but the reason this book gripped me was because of the characters. Miller and Blair have really managed to build such strong characters with incredibly unique personalities.
Usually I am not a big fan of cliffhanger endings as I like to know exactly where I stand at the end of a book, but on this occasion Blair and Miller have kept me wanting more. I genuinely cannot wait until the release of the follow on book "Murder Madness Such Sweet Sadness"!
I really hope that Blair and Miller make this in to a series because it's sure to be one of my favourites (and I'm also secretly hoping that this is adapted in to a TV series or film!)
Oh my word! I don't know where to start with this one! I can tell you that you NEED to read this book. NEED! Holy moly! I freaking loved this!
This who done it story is written perfectly! It goes back and forth between four characters. I was a little nervous at first. I wasn't sure if I would be able to follow four different characters. I was worried for no reason. This book reads flawlessly. It keeps your attention from start to finish!
I can't seem to say enough positive about this story. My mind is still working on overdrive over who could possibly killed Jason. I have so many different theories. My guess, I am probably wrong on all accounts. Who knows? It doesn't really matter. No matter how this story ends up ending, it will end with me whimpering mercilessly, I am sure! Yes, you read that right. This book does leave on a cliffhanger. I was cussing up a storm. I need the next book asap!
This is a book that ANYONE can read. It doesn't matter your age or preference in genre. This is one of those stories that one can not help getting sucked into. I highly recommend clicking purchase on this book!
First of all, If anyone knows me, you know I have thing about multiple points of views. It normally doesn't work for me but guess what? This actually worked. It was thrilling and the mystery that glued this story together was interesting.
You have Livie, Val, Haddie and Reggie. Four women who were part of Jackson's life. For better or for worse. But it's leaning towards the worst. Jackson was full of secrets and boy did he have secrets on like everyone.
It's more of a classic who done it. You soon realize there can be so many suspects. It's like messed up game of clue. Both of these authors do a great job writing together. This was a short read for me and I did finish it within a day. Or I should say a couple hours. There's enough mystery in this to want to read more of this story. And luckily the second book is already out right now.
Overall, I give this book a four. It's an enjoyable solid story. And can't wait to see what happens next....Lissa
I like this book! Recommended! It's not the "ideal" book but, it kept me hooked, so it had potential with such a wide range of characters, each having their own unique voice and story. I expected to like Haddie, "the book nerd", most out of all the four girls, turns out, she's actually the WORST. In my opinion, that is. Reggie, though she was a "drug dealer", turns out to be the best. I also liked Val ("the lesbian bitch") and Livie("the princess"), who though sickly rich, was a kleptomaniac. All the girls except Haddie. She's that bad and totally unlike able. Also, I figured Jackson's killer isn't revealed in this book, which disappointed me. I only read it so eagerly to know who was the actual killer. Well, the killer will be revealed in the next book, 'Murder Madness Such Sweet Sadness'!
I am not sure how I came across this book or why it caught my attention but it did. I was happy to see it was a short read and a mystery. I felt it would be a satisfying, short, sweet indulgence kind of read. It was, enough to keep me reading. It was lacking a bit in areas I wish had been better developed, but in the long run... I enjoyed the read.
Jackson Landis was a jerk to the tenth degree... however everyone loved him. Especially 4 girls... well were involved enough with him to have some kind of affection for him and allowing him to run their lives. Well Jackson ends up dead and its foul play. The four girls go through their days after the funeral with secrets unleashed and a determination to find out who killed Jackson and how they will now keep their secrets well secrets.
I will try to keep this simple because it was a fast and a short read.
What I liked...
The mystery. I think the mystery was well done and although I would love to say I feel I know who did it. I don't. I wish I could say its one of the four girls featured in the story, but I can't. I really feel it could be someone so unexpected and maybe someone the book hasn't even introduced fully yet. Maybe even a guy. It was really well done and I have no clue who did it. I thought many times through out the story that I may have an inkling but then my mind would be changed in just a couple of short chapters. So the mystery aspect was good.
The secrets and the drama. That was well done too. Wow so much bad in this book. So may secrets. Tons of betrayals and lies. Yes every now and again I just want bad and shameful and twisted... This book was exactly that.
The fast pace. It was very fast paced. Very easy read and I was happy to keep my little fingers swiping the pages over. I had no need to put the book down and I didn't I read it in one sitting.
What I didn't like...
The character development. Like I said I like the bad, shameful, and twisted but I felt the characters were a little under developed... which can happen in a fast short read.... and I feel they weren't likable. There needed to be a bit more depth for feel this story was at all believable in the way that these girls could be played so easily.
Jackson was a big douche and yet they all loved him. He held there darkest deepest secrets and they didn't care. He used them and all he gave them was sex. I am not sure that the sex could really have been that good. I just couldn't understand for the life of me why these girls put up with it.
I also didn't feel attached and I just couldn't relate to any of these characters. So yes a little more character development would have made the read much better for me.
This is a series... really .... I mean I guess all things come out as series now and I should have figured with it being so short but I really really really wanted to know who did it in the end... now I have to wait. I really hope it doesn't go on forever.
So that's it. More likes than dislikes and the dislikes did not take away from me liking the read. Just if the dislikes had been likes... it would have been a wow read for me.
It was good for twisted mystery and just a few hours of bad. Very enjoyable.
Kiss Kill Love Him Still by Jamie Blair was an easy to read first installment about four very different girls, Reggie, Haddie, Val, and Livie, who attend the same university. All four girls have a relationship with Jackson Landis, a fellow student at the university, without knowing about the other girls’ roles in his life. Until Jackson turns up dead, and no one can pinpoint how he died, or who might have killed him
“It doesn’t seem possible that Full of Life Jackson Landis, Life of the Party Jackson Landis, Every Girl’s Dream Jackson Landis is now Dead and Gone Jackson Landis.”
Reggie is the school bad girl. She has drug connections, and lives on her own, not at all worried about her classes or social standing among the student body. Haddie is an overweight, self-proclaimed nerd, who works in the school library, and tries to desperately fade into the background, where she can avoid being made fun off or looked down upon. Livie is the gorgeous rich girl that everyone knows, and Jackson’s girlfriend up until his death. And Val is a good student with a drinking problem, just trying to get through her seemingly average life.
Jackson was not at all the person that the girls believed he was. He kept the secrets of all four of the girls, and used those secrets and a few of his own lies to blackmail each of them into doing what he wanted. So as the circumstances surrounding his death come to light, the paths of the four girls cross as they each try to discover who the murderer is.
Jamie Blair drops you right into the midst of the mystery and action of her story from chapter one. Each chapter chronicles the thoughts and experiences of one of the four main characters, alternating between their perspectives from chapter to chapter, and putting you right into the characters heads, sharing their deepest feelings and emotions with you. However, I personally had trouble following some of the action, because the setting of the scene was not always totally clear. There are moderate sexual situations and profanity throughout the book. I give this book three out of five stars, because of the slightly disjointed nature of some of the scenes. The ending also comes without much resolution and a huge cliffhanger, which left me very curious about where Ms. Blair plans to take this group of girls next, in Murder Madness Such Sweet Sadness. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good cozy, but lively mystery that twists and turns with each page.
~I'm leaving an honest review in exchange for book 2- Murder Madness Such Sweet Sadness~
I first picked this book because of its eye-catching cover. The inclusion of the girls on it is a nice touch. It gives the readers a visual of what the characters look like. The synopsis was intriguing enough to make me want to open the book and start reading. I felt like it would be a short, sweet read mixed with a lot of mystery and, indeed, it was! It was full of turns and twists and like the characters, I kept getting deeper and deeper into the web of secrets and lies, wanting to find out who killed Jackson Landis. Was it the jealous drug dealer, the perfectionist mum or some other person Jackson blackmailed? It is like a mixed version of Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl and John Tucker Must Die. In a good way.
The way Blair and Miller write together is amazing. You can't tell that two authors cooperated to write this novel! I'm really impressed at how they were able to weave the characters lives together. The story is told using four points of view and I never once got confused! I really enjoy reading their thoughts and how each of them sees things.
I was pleasantly surprised with the characters personalities. Each of them is different their own way and I love that. Though I must warn you: If you want to sympathise and fall in love with the characters, this isn't the book for you. None of them is nice or heroic in any way but that's the fun part. I personally love reading about mean or different characters' point of view. Their thoughts are so interesting to read!
The best and most memorable parts of a story are the beginning and the end. ''Last night, I left Jackson Landis lying in a puddle of puke on his bathroom floor.'' It is a really nice way to start a story. It made me want to continue reading and find out what happened. However, I don't think the ending is satisfactory enough. Sure, I want to find out who killed Jackson but not enough to feel like I will go crazy if I don't find out what happens next. But I guess that depends on the person.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to reading the next book. I give 3 stars because I felt as though there could be more, not just in length. I'm talking about more backstory, more info to shed some light on the mystery that is the characters personalities. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery.

Susan ? Bree ? Lynette ? Attendez, je me suis trompée : Est-ce Reggie ? Haddie ? Val ? Livie ?
Four girls are all in love with one guy - Jackson Landis. Four girls, who are completely different from each other - Val (who is an alcoholic and prefers women to men, including her boyfriend, Paul), Livie (Jackson's diva of a girlfriend, who he called "Crazy Livie"), Reggie (the campus drug dealer who Jackson called on frequently), and Haddie (who works in the campus library), are all tangled up in Jackson's life, and all are completely shocked to hear that he had randomly died. While they barely know each other, and if they do, they don't like one another in the slightest, none of them knew what kind of secrets the others were keeping - including that they were all sleeping with Jackson for different reasons - and he was holding their secrets against them to get what he wanted.
Jackson has something on each girl that he can use to blackmail them - including Livie. So each girl has a motive for murdering Jackson, but who actually did?
I don't usually read NA fiction, but I enjoyed this. Honestly, I didn't even realize it was based on a college campus instead of a high school until I started reading the book. It kind of reminded me of Pretty Little Liars in a way, because the girls were all such secretive bitches (and I don't feel bad using the word "bitch" to describe them, because it's on the cover), and it was so fun learning about their secrets and their motives for killing Jackson. Parts of this book made me laugh a lot, and some parts made me sad - either way, the characters were fun, had interesting personalities, and I found myself getting kind of addicted to the story.
The only part of this book I hated was the cliffhanger. Ugh, I hate books with cliffhangers, especially when the story itself is so good. I thought this could have just been longer (it was relatively short), and just wrapped everything up, but I'm going to be incredibly impatient waiting for the next book to come out. If this book turns into a series, I would definitely be hooked, that's for sure. The authors have such amazing writing skills, and they form a great team on this book.

Although I generally don’t really like multiple first person POVs, I did them tolerable to read in this book. It was interesting to see the four different characters and how they had to deal with the death of a person so close to all of them.
I found each of the POV characters to be really interesting and although they each seemed shallow and somewhat vapid from the outside, when I was inside their heads, I felt like I was able to get to know the characters better as the book went on.
It was interesting to learn the secrets the different characters were keeping and I had a lot of sympathy for Val… even though I didn’t think she was a very nice person to Haddie. Reggie was probably the person I found the most interesting… although her apparent obsession with Jackson kind of made her seem less intelligent than she probably was.
I also found Livia to be an interesting character… vastly different to how she came across in her first appearance. I did feel some sympathy for Haddie… but although her father did come across as overbearing, I did think that she was making some bad choices.
I couldn’t really understand why Jackson had managed to draw so many people to him, since he didn’t come across as very charming/nice from what was revealed about him during the course of the book.
While it was interesting to see the police officers questioning, I did think they weren’t exactly professional. While that could have been due to seeing them through the eyes of the other characters, it would have been good to see more of their personalities.
There were a lot of elements of tension in this book and I did find it really easy to read, if quite complicated due to everything that was going on. I did kind of like Marcus at first… but I went off him by the end of the book.
I did think that the book ended quite abruptly and I was left with more questions than answers by the end. I would like to read a sequel to this.
The story is basically about 1 guy and 4 girls. The book certainly reminded me of pretty little liars and gossip girl. The book revolves around 4 women Reggie, Val, Livie and Haddie. All of them are very different from each other but share different relations with Jackson and have many reasons to kill him.
Things you should know about Jackson- He is a very twisted secretive character and gets what he wants. Has many relations and cheats on his girlfriend. Is very evasive and popular. Three main characters love him.
Things I honestly like- I find books written in multiple povs very confusing but KKLHS is an exception and is really well written, it keeps you on the last edge. Compared to PLL the 4 girls are not very twisted, and you can relate to some of the characters. You can solve this mystery case, I kept on changing my mind about the killer and formed new theories after every chapter. The only question I kept thinking about was WHO KILLED JACKSON? I got hooked to the book and finished it in 2 days. I enjoyed the murder mystery as everyone's pov was so entertaining.
Things that I did not like The ending of KKLHS it ends on an oath kind of a note while one of the main characters in framed for the murder. VAL was one of the character's I failed to understand, most of the time I kept thinking that why is she saying this? What does she mean? Why is she acting like this? HADDIE why does she have to be ashamed of herself, and have low self esteem but in the end she acts smart.
P.s- Read this book if you are looking for drama and something new in mystery thriller. Read it on wattpad
Have you read The Perfectionists series by Sara Shepard ? This is what Jamie Blair and Dawn Rae Miller's new book and series reminded me of with a twist. Jackson Landis is dead and it seems that he loved his secrets and was never short of sexual partners as these four girls are about to discover when on the day of his funeral - they each turn up mourning him as they all loved him. The twist is that neither knew about each other except for a few little hints that Jackson dropped between the girls about each other from Haddie - the nerd who did his homework and got sex on the side , from Reggie - the campus drug dealer who met Jackson while selling him drugs , Val - a closet lesbian who had a thing not only for Jackson but also his girlfriend - the spoilt princess Livie. Each of the girls are suspects in Jackson's murder and will find each other over the next few days in each other's way. Can the girls who had one thing in common band together to find out who killed Jackson or will their secrets and jealousy over Jackson continue to mess the investigation up and have fingers and police pointed their way ? Find out in Book #1 of this Teen Whodunnit Murder Mystery , where everyone is a suspect and has a secret that they want hidden. Kiss Kill Love Him Still is the perfect read for fans of Sara Shepard's work in Pretty Little Liars , The Perfectionists and Elle Cosimano's series Nearly Gone.
I love a good mystery and was instantly drawn to the premise of Kiss Kill Love Him Still. The book follows four young women who all have different relationships with and reasons for killing Jackson Landis.
To be honest Reggie, Haddie, Val, and Livie all have plenty of reasons for murdering Jackson, but then so do lots of other people. The plot itself reminded me of a homicidal version of John Tucker Must Die. The more we discover about Jackson, the more secrets we uncover.
Jackson was a charmer and a manipulator. He managed to convince the girls to do whatever he needed them to, whilst sharing very little of himself with them. Out of all the girls, I liked Reggie's snarky attitude and honesty the most, but I really wasn't a big fan of Haddie. Although she's a spoilt princess, I did find myself feeling sorry for Livie and kept hoping it was her.
Have you been following the clues on the scavenger hunt? If so you may already have formed a few theories about WHO KILLED JACKSON LANDIS. I kept changing my mind throughout the book and I'm still trying to get my head around the ending, but overall I enjoyed this contemporary murder mystery.

I finished this book in a day, I really enjoyed the book.
Warning, this book is clearly book one of a series and it doesn't end with the murder being solved. I wasn't expecting that but I am excited I will get to read more of this very fun series.
It does remind me of Pretty Little Liars in a way, but these little girls are not good people. They have flaws, they are bitches they are snide they are judgmental. They are exactly people you know or have known at least once in your life.
Jackson was a dick. Hell I see why he was murdered, he was not a good person but these girls loved him anyway. Which you know happens. You want to hate these girls and call these girls idiots, but you can't because we have all fallen for the wrong person before.
This plot is well developed enough that by time you hit 30% or more you have already started developing theories of whodunit. I know I have. No spoilers here, but let me tell you I do think it is one of the side characters that have close ties to one of the main four girls.
This book was a fantastic read and I am really glad I took a chance and requested it on netgalley. Very easy 5 stars.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review, as always the opinions are my own.
This is the first book in a series! The plot reminds me of Pretty Little Liars, but in a good way. The blackmailer in this case is the dead cheating boyfriend. He was keeping the four girls secrets - finding out people's secrets and using them against the person was basically his hobby and way to get what he wanted.
The book deals with the aftermath of his death -the 4 girls he was involved with try to figure out who killed him while dealing with their grief. What I don't get is how come ALL OF THEM WERE IN LOVE WITH HIM. He was an ass - good looking and super charming but still an ass. The girls are completely different from each other and the story is told from their first person point of view, which is divided into chapters.
I will def read the next book in the series. It was a fast read and I was disappointed when I found out its a series because I want to read more right now! The girls are super snarky and awesome so I liked that too - I like a bit of sarcasm and fun while reading a murder mystery.
I recommend! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book.
I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I can probably put this book in so little sentences, it isn’t even funny.
Basically, Kiss Kill Love Him Still is about a dude who gets murdered, but sleeps with who knows how many girls on his college campus and keeping their deepest and darkest secrets. Of course, when he is murdered, those secrets threaten to come to life, and five of the girls involved are brought together to figure out who really murdered said dude (Jackson) and how they murdered him.
Let’s just say there was something about the book that didn’t ultimately ring as well with me as I hoped it would when I originally read the synopsis.
I didn't know it was part of a story and ends on a cliffhanger. So DISCLAIMER!!! If, like me, you're suffering from book hangover and thin this might be a sweet little way to recover, find another book. Big cliffhanger. I'm not a happy camper about that, but I guess it's my own fault for one clicking with several other books one night and not taking the time to do a little research before reading? Either way, late night rant over, it is a really good read. Eventually, I'll get the next book. I definitely recommend it. Just keep in mind that you're going to want to pick up the next book ASAP if you want questions answered.
**I want to add, though, that the story pulls you in. I love the way the chapters are set up in the pov of the four main characters. Each one has her own distinct voice and it really makes the book that much more awesome. I really did enjoy this story. Just wish I would have known it left on a cliffhanger so I could have waited to read it until I had the next book!
I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
3.5/5
THAT ENDING. WAS FREAKING CONFUSING. I AM CONFUSED OUT OF MY MIND.
THIS IS ONE HELL OF AN OPEN-ENDED STORY.
Honestly, I couldn't follow anything so I don't have a proper theory and I just want the truth: WHO TF KILLED JACKSON LANDIS?????????
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the biggest mystery of the year. I AM PANICKING. Does this book really end this way????? Tell me no because I can't accept this. Mysteries don't work this way. So, I therefore conclude, this isn't a Mystery.
Okay, I'm going to give you all the dirt on this book right here right now.
Kidding, the SCAVENGER HUNT TOUR IS HAPPENING SOON SO GO CHECK OUT MY BLOG FOR UPDATES AND SO YOU CAN PARTICIPATE!! There's a giveaway (and another giveaway) and my review will be posted on 12 Nov.
One of the most refreshingly unique books I’ve read this year!
Told from four different POVs, Kiss Kill Love Him Still tells the story of Jackson Landis’s death from the prospective of four women who each had a different connection to him, but all loved him.
There are so many twists and turns in this book, it’s like an episode of Pretty Little Liars in your head. Each of the four women were involved with Jackson in different ways (but telling you how would ruin the book for you). By the time you are finished with the book, your head will be spinning.
If you are looking for something different, unique and highly-entertaining, then run out and get this book ASAP!
I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I first found out about this book on Goodreads, the synopsis sounded interesting so I added it to my "to-read" shelf. Then I saw it on Amazon & decided to buy it. This book was interesting, it was told by 4 different girls, in their point of view. The story was very interesting but because the girls were telling their pwn versions of what was happening it felt like things were missing or being left out or out of order. That was the only thing I didn't like about it. But overall it was a good book. & now I'm going to have to wait for the next book to come out this Spring so I can find out what happens next.
If you like TV shows like Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl, then you will like this book! I don't like these shows though, so for me it was a book that has potential but one that doesn't particularly have anything that appeals to me apart from the "who dunnit" theme, which unfortunately started rolling better and gathering pace in the final few pages...and then it ended! I was unaware that this is the start of a series so the abrupt ending caught me off guard and left me a bit frustrated. I gave this 3 stars because I can definitely see how others would read and enjoy this book, however its not just to my taste.
