What would you do if you ran into a real life book boyfriend?
You might scream or maybe giggle.
You might play coy or maybe stare.
You might ask for a picture or maybe an autograph.
You might call your girlfriends or maybe post about it.
What did I do? I ran. Literally.

Kim was a typical college student with a splash of dorky, a dash of funny, and a pinch of clumsy…well, maybe more than a pinch. After making a fool of herself in front of her classmate Brent, and his friend, Travis, a dead-ringer for one her book boyfriends, she tried to stay away. But after a few hilarious chance encounters, they became fast friends.

And then came the bet. It was Travis versus Brent, but somehow Kim got roped in to help team Travis. He was supposed to find and woo his real life book girlfriend. What could go wrong with a couple of college kids and an innocent bet? Let the shenanigans and laughter ensue! And maybe add in a bit of friendship, fun and most definitely, love.

DC Renee is a contemporary romance fiction author who tends to write stand alone novels that always shock you with a twist. She's been writing all her life. It started with adorable rhyming poems as a kid for anniversary and birthday presents, moved onto monologues and short stories as a teen, then transitioned to fan fictions before she found the courage to publish a book.

DC lives in sunny and (mostly) warm Los Angeles with her husband and their two toddlers - a girl and boy that want to "work just like mama," often climbing in her lap and "writing" on her computer. She's very close with her entire family - extended included, and her sister is her muse.

When she's not working, writing, and spending time with the family, she loves watching mindless TV, tinkering with diy projects, and of course, reading.

Review by Jen Hagen

Kim reminds me a lot of myself…uncoordinated and talks fast jibberish when nervous. I wish we had something else in common…the ability to have two hot guys falling in love with you at the same time. Let me make it clear that there is absolutely no cheating going on in this book.

Kim and Brian are good friends from a shared college class and Brian is friends with Travis who happens to be a hot MMA fighter. Does the name Travis ring any bells for you?? As in Travis Maddox?

“So, let me get this straight. You and a bunch of other girls have a crush on some book version of me, and when you meet the real me, you freak, scream and run?”

Travis is a player. He doesn’t do repeats with girls and girls are falling at his feet. Kim comes up with a bet that he needs to find a girl to go out with him because of his personality and not his body. She and Brian are in cohorts together on this and the more time that Brian spends with Kim the more he likes her. The more time that Travis spends with Kim, the more he likes her. Did I just stutter? Nope…both guys are realizing how special Kim is. Who is going to risk their friendship first and hope that Kim feels the same way?

“I love you, Kim. I’ve loved you for a while now. It’s not about any timeframe or why now and not later. I didn’t have you before. And I found you now."

Someone is going deep with his love acclamation, but who is it? You will have to read to find out who Kim’s perfect book boyfriend is and how she ends up with her happily ever after.

This was so cute and so funny! Oh my LORD Kim is alot like me. I was so giddy when I saw the mention of Travis Maddox. If you know me, then you'll know Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire is my ALL TIME favorite NA book and it's what got me to be OBSESSED with the genre.

Seriously you guys. This book was amazing! It's very fast paced and a very quick read. I would have finished in a day but I didn't get the chance to finish it last night like I had planned.

I'll have a full review in a couple weeks. I'm trying to finish finals then I'll be posting reviews that I've been promising you guys! Check my blog and Facebook if you're wanting to see the reviews. :)

3.5 Stars!

This book was hilarious!!! I laughed so hard that I was quite literally rolling with laughter!!
I was supposed to be studying but after reading the prologue I just couldn't put it down!

This was a total surprise to me, but damn it hit the nail on the head. I really wouldn't know what to do with myself if ever I were to meet one of my many book boyfriends. I hope I won't embarrass myself like Kim but at the same time, I think something really silly may happen.

There were so many times when I was laughing my ass off because some of the things Kim and Brent would do then there was Kim's thought process, which was hilarious. If I were in Brent and Travis' place I would have done the same thing.

Though this book was hilarious, there was some serious editing issues and at times the story felt a bit flat. If you could get past that though it was a pretty enjoyable read.

THIS. BOOK. IS. A. MUST. READ!

Why are you limited on just 5 stars??? This is the question that I was asking myself when I was only a few chapters into Book Boyfriend by D.C. Renee because even then I knew that this book was going to be so much more than just 5 stars! 5 stars is just not enough to give this book.

The whole premise of this story has me giggling like a schoolgirl full of giddiness and crushes. Renee’s take on the whole romance book boyfriend was beyond smart, refreshing and exciting. I loved how the story made me feel! Renee completely outdid herself giving us the story of three best friends- Kim, Brent, and Travis. Their relationships with each other are hilariously funny, sweet, tender and angsty all at the same time. It was such a great lighthearted, romantic read centering around a love triangle of best friends.

Like most of us ladies, Kim is a closet nerd who can turn up the hotness as she chooses. However, immediately upon meeting Jamie McGuire’s “Travis Maddox” real life book boyfriend, she falls flat on her face- literally all while his best friend Brent watches. Travis and Brent can’t get enough of Kim’s infectious humor (quite frankly neither could I) and immediately attach themselves to her and her antics even if it means creating the real life story of Beautiful Disaster. Realizing Travis manwhore ways, Kim and Brent bet him that he can’t land a girl for the right reasons. Who knew where this bet would take them?

I could never quite decide which best friend I wanted for Kim. Each man was completely irrisistable for so many different reasons. There were soooooo many sexual tension filled moments that had me just squirming for them all to decide! I couldn’t take it! At times I was even ready for them just to say the hell with it and just all three be together! I truly fell in love with each friend right along with Kim.

If you are looking for book that makes you smile, LOL, and has romance then check out Renee’s Book Boyfriend. It’s one of the best books I’ve read this year and will be one I continue to recommend! I can’t wait to read more from this author!

*** You don’t have to read Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire, but trust me it’s damn good too!

How many times does a group of ladies get together on facebook, on blogs or on chats and chat about who could represent their perfect book boyfriend and which book described him. I know I’ve had that same conversation with numerous friends, still do, and although I’m no closer to finding my book boyfriend, it doesn’t change the fact that they are popular and the personification of the type of man women fantasize about. How perfect is DC Renee’s novel where THE book boyfriend happens to be Kim’s classmate’s friend Travis – it was full of laughter, hilarious moments, banter and moments where you couldn’t help yourself but think ‘I wish it was me!’. This is the type of read that you can read over and over and never think it old, but rather, still find it entertaining no matter the age group. Quite frankly, I loved it and would recommend it to any reader who simply wants to escape reality, no matter for how long.

You have to love a book with a great book boyfriend. While this one has not one but TWO sexy book boyfriends for you.

Kim is a college student that is a book loving dorky nerd. She doesn't have anything two do with guys after she has her heart broken. The day she makes a fool of herself at the gym in front of Brent and Travis begins a funny and powerful friendship. A bet is made and the story begins. As the book progresses Kim becomes close friends with Brent and Travis and really gets to know them. Brent and Travis also get to know Kim and her past. As they spend more time together they try to convince her that she is beautiful, smart, funny and deserves to be worshipped.

I love DC Renee's book and this one was not different. Usually she has a lot of twist, turns and angst in her books but this one was an endearing and funny book of three people who forge a close friendship. As the story progresses I will say I was cheering for one of these two but I was also on the fence at times.

I loved that this was a light read. I was laughing so hard at times. From the cheezy pick up lines to Kim's clumsy moments will have you laughing out loud. All that aside you will fall in love with Brent and Travis as they convince Kim that she is a beautiful women who deserves to be loved. Will Brent, Travis or Kim find true love?

10 stars!!! No, 20 stars! Freaking LOVED it!!! Best one from DC so far! Read it in one sitting, could not put it down.
I have to say this book was genius! It's super funny that just last week I read Beautiful Disaster, when I started reading this one I was like OMG!
Now, I have a warning, if you have not read Beautiful Disaster then you might want to read that one first, unless you have no desire to ever read that book then you will be fine. Actually, I would say read Beautiful Disaster then read this one so that you know who Travis is but you don't have to.
Ok, so back to the book. This book was funny, romantic and well written. The characters are super likable and you will fall in love with all of them. There is a love triangle and the author knew how to work it out perfectly, I was so worried for the longest time because in every love triangle story I read I always fall for one character more than the other but not with this book, this was very difficult for me because I wanted both Travis and Brent, I fell in love with both. They are seriously perfect! Kim was also perfect, I loved her, she was super funny and like the perfect girlfriend, the one you want to be best friends with.
I'm going to be talking about this book for a long time because I really loved it!
HEA of course and a perfect one too, like so super awesome and romantic!!!!
Will definitely recommend to all my friends.

First of all thank you DC Renee for an ARC.
4.5 stars but rounded up to a 5 :)

As I was reading I had no clue as to how the book would play out. Which is unusual for me because I often get hints or ideas as to what might happen. Definitely not the case with this one until it got closer to the ending. But I have to say that the ending was perfect. The whole concept of this book is new and refreshing. And it definitely fits with a lot of us avid romance readers. Don’t we all wish we had our very own book boyfriend? I laughed so many times throughout this book, that I was glad I was alone while reading it or I know I would have gotten some funny looks. Kim’s character was awesome and totally enjoyable. I really liked her personality and attitude, she was definitely not afraid to be herself and embraced her clumsiness with grace. The friendship between her, Brent and Travis was also well written and goes to show that girls and guys can be best friends. And sometimes those are the best types of friendships one can have. I do have to say that I’m a little disappointed that there wasn’t actually a little action between the three at the same time ;) But this book went in the direction it needed to go in and I was really happy with it. The story was well developed and it kept me reading and ended up finishing in one sitting. All in all, this was an amazing book and am glad that I got a chance to read an arc of it.

This was my first book by D.C. and I loved every minute of it! I was sucked in from page one and could not put this book down. This is one of the cutest and sweetest stories I have read in a long time. It’s a very fun read and I laughed through most of the book.

I love Kim. She is a total book nerd and of course I am a book nerd so I connected with her right away. Kim is so funny and always finds herself in awkward situations. Kim runs into Brent while at the gym and he introduces her to Travis “the book boyfriend” and the fun begins. Once Kim explains about the book boyfriend they all make a bet to find the real book girlfriend.

I adore both Travis and Brent both. They are both very playful and love picking on Kim and making her blush like crazy. Brent, Travis, and Kim all become best friends pretty quickly because they all connect so well with each other. I don’t want to post spoilers but I do have my favorite out of the boys even though I loved them both I was pulling for one more than the other. There are tons of laugh out loud moments in this book, great friendships, and of course a beautiful love story. Good job D.C.!

description

What would you do if you ran into your book boyfriend? Drool, scream, stare? If you are Kim you run!

Kim is a college student who is funny, clumsy and a little bit of a dork. When Kim runs into her book boyfriend along with his hot friend who Kim has a class with she literally falls on her face. Embarrassed Kim tries to stay away from Travis the hot MMA fighter and his equally hot friend Brent. But through a few funny chance encounters the three become fast friends. Soon Kim gets roped into a bet between Travis and Brent to find Travis a book girlfriend.

This was such a cute read. Poor Kim, I laughed out loud when she meets Travis and Brent. We all want to believe we could be funny, cute when meeting a real life book boyfriend but unfortunately that would probably not happen.

There is a little bit of a love triangle that had me worried about the close friendship that had formed between the three of them. You can tell who Kim should be with but it takes her brain awhile to catch up with her heart. And all three of them are so afraid of hurting each other once feelings are acknowledged you worry they will miss out on their HEA.

There wasn't any bed action but the story didn't need it. It was cute, quirky, an emotional read that was about love and more importantly friendship.

OMG this book had me laughing so hard in parts!
I LOVED Kim. She is so....normal. She's a clutz, she speaks before she thinks, and she totally loves books. Her ramblings had me cracking up.
I found myself switching teams to the point I thought, eh, I'll take joint custody of both the guys. Each one had something special about them. Travis had the looks, that cocky charm, while Brent had that sweet "I'll be there forever" vibe that you just can't ignore. Some of the dates that Kim sets Travis up on were simply hilarious! She took each stereotype and made them fit in to this story perfectly. And the result was comedy gold.
Of course, it can't all be fun and games. After all, SOMEONE has to find their book boyfriend. Leave it to Kim's trusty bff to throw a cog in to the works!
This was certainly lighter than DC's other works and it just goes to prove her skill. If you are looking for something light, fun, flirty with a book geek heroine and 2 perfect book boyfriends, then you need this book. It's the perfect read to combat the holiday stress!

I haven't laughed so much when reading a book as I did with this! The concept of this shouldn't work but it so does in all its hilarious glory.

When Kim first sees Travis and finds out more about him, she can't help but see the similarities between him and a book boyfriend of the same name. Kim has a tendency to babble on when she's nervous and reveals all of this to Travis and his friend Brent, before falling flat on her backside in her desire to escape quickly.

Kim is so down to earth that most women will completely relate to her, with her propensity to speak her mind and her accident proneness. When Travis is challenged to find a book girlfriend, Kim steps up to tutor him. It is great fun and the banter is so natural. The three, Kim, Travis and Brent are very close friends, so when two of them grow closer, how will it impact on their relationships?

Hilariously funny with awesome, down to earth characters and bizarre situations that you just have to read to believe! A firm favourite in my eyes.

** ARC given on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * *

one of the best books I've read that didn't have sex in it, lol. it's a book that I know is true for us all, we all think if our book boyfriends when we see/meet a person that fits the description, I'm guilty we all are, well Kim was guilty as well. she's decided to try working out when she see her classmate Brent, she walks over to speak to him and on her way over she's notices a guy who is practicing mma, and low and behold his name is Travis and of course she thinks Travis Maddox, who wouldn't. well they all three become the best of friends and she explains the book boyfriend so they are on a mission to find Travis his Abbi , it's to teach him how to flirt with going straight to sex and to when a bet. the truth that just maybe your Abbi or book boyfriend could be right in front of you. I absolutely over this book, the humor, the love it was real and definitely a 5 star read.

I absolutely loved this book! I couldn’t get enough of it and there were so many times I was laughing out loud. I adored Kim so much. She just like any other book nerd out there and I loved she was so down to earth and was just herself. Kim is freaking hilarious. She says exactly what’s on her mind and she doesn’t even realize she’s being funny. Brent and Travis both loved her, and maybe one loved her more. I love these two as well. They all instantly became friends and the situations they put each other in, well you have to read it to find out. I can promise you will be laughing and shaking your head at them.
I actually hated when this book ended. It was a great read and I just wanted their story to go on and on. I really thought the ending would go a different way than it did, but I’m so glad it changed from what I’d thought. I really hope to see more from these characters in the future and I’ll definitely be on the lookout for DC’s books. Highly recommend reading this!

As soon as I read the synopsis for this book I knew I had to read it! Who doesn't love a good book boyfriend? In this story you get two! Brent and Travis are the perfect book boyfriends, they made me laugh, a lot, they say the right things and they love to flirt, see perfect. Kim doesn't even know they are hers. This story flowed so well from page to page, leaving no questions or boring parts. DC Renee wrote a fantastic book with great characters that fit so well together. I love the banter, the flirting, the conversations are my favorite parts! This book was a breath of fresh air, something different and fun. If you are looking for a great story with lots of laughs, some romance, and amazing friendship then this is it! One click now! Great job DC Renee! I can't wait to read more from this amazing author!

I just loved the concept of this book!!! Who would have thought three people could form a friendship over a bet! It was so funny to see Kim and Brent trying to find the "perfect" girl for Travis to "date". But soon feelings develop that no one was quite ready for and someone is bound to get hurt. Can a friendship that started on a bet turn in to more or will one person be left out and the tightly knit friendship dissolve? It was enjoyable to read about a book lover using ideas from a book that she had loved in her real life. It was hard for me to choose which guy I liked more! They both had amazing qualities...so after much thought..I decided a Brent/Travis sandwich was the best idea for me!!!

This book was a very pleasant surprise for me. I found it drew me in right from the start & never let me go. What would you do if you met your real life Book boyfriend?

I found myself chuckling & rooting for everyone in this book. Travis & Brent are 2 forces to be reckoned with. Both are exceptionally good looking, honest & funny. But both have that player label. They both truly are great guys once you get to know them! And Kim is a friggin hoot!!! It's easy to see how the friendship formed between them.

This book was the perfect break in between some pretty deep emotional reads for me & I highly recommend it! It's also the first book I've read from this author and sure won't be my last.

Such a cute, funny story with some emotional thrown into it. What makes this story so great is all women that read can at one time or another, relate to Kim in some way when she walks right into a scene from one of her books. Of course she makes a complete fool out of herself and makes the two guys, who will become an important part of her life later, think she's crazy but they get curious about what she's rambling on about and decide to get to know her better. A bet forms a friendship between the 3 that will keep you cracking up but eventually falling in love with these characters. A must read if you are looking for something to hold your attention!!!

WHAR, A, GREAT. BOOK!!!!
Started off as school "friends" then become best friends, then fall in love. That's how things started out for Brent and Kim. Then Kim meets Brent's other friend Travis. This makes Kim crazy cause she has a book boyfriend crush on none other then TRAVIS MADDOX!! Yes that Travis Maddox. Kim, Brent and Travis make a very friendly bet. This leads them to spend ALOT of time together...Kim discovers that one of the men are in love with her....They start to a relationship, BUT Kim is actually in love with the other friend.
What a fun book I loved it. COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN

When Kim's friend Brent introduces his friend Travis to Kim, she can't believe her eyes. Travis looks like her book boyfriend, Travis Maddox. After embarrassing herself by telling Brent and Travis about book boyfriends, they make a bet to find the perfect book girlfriend. Along the way there are hilarious moments, and of course, more embarrassing moments for Kim. Travis and Brent are perfect book boyfriends, but is Kim a good book girlfriend, or is she too clumsy and quirky to find her own book boyfriend? Will she fall for Travis or Brent, or maybe both? This was the first book I've read by D.C. Renee, and I really enjoyed it.

You know the feeling when you can't stop smiling, well that's exactly what this book did for me. Every time I think about it, I just get the biggest grin on my face. This book was the perfect blend of funny, enjoyable and angst that will leave you feeling happy after reading it. This isn't your typical story line by DC Renee but she nailed this one out of the park. This book is too adorable for words! If you are in the mood for something easy, light and fun to read, then I definitely recommend this book! I can guarantee you, it will leave you smiling for days.

Worth more than 5 Stars

This story was an awesome read from the first word to the last. Funny as Hell, heart warming, heart breaking, to every other emotion there is, I loved every word. I felt like I could of been Kim or Kim could of been me if my life was anything even remotely worth writing or reading about. On the inside I connected with Kim, Kim is my subconscious I think lol I absolutely loved it.

Okay this is one of the hardest review's I've written.
I let my own feelings get in the way of a proper star rating because It would have gotten 5 stars if some things didn't happen but because of the whole breaking my heart it's 3 stars.

Because I really liked and loved this book in the beginning it was so much fun and so lovely
until nearing the end..
Then I wanted to pull my hair out and wanted to cry..

I was so heartbroken! Wich means that D.C. Renee did it great with this story.
But my mind was completly set up from the beginning, so nothing could change how I felt.
