This is my second read by this author. Love Michelle Douglas's books, and this was another sweet read - so many stories tend to veer towards the steamy side therefore reading Ms. Douglas's books are refreshing and very pleasant.
Sol and Cassie are both really great characters. A sad storyline but beautifully presented.

An appealing Christmas read I recommend.

Ten years before, Sol left town when his best friend promised herself to another. Cassie was the girl next door, and shared his wrong side of town upbringing. She'd been his best friend. Now Cassie's a widow and he's back in town to finally come to terms with his past and hopefully make a future. He discovers he's not the only one who has some dark secrets, only Cassie's are much more recent than the ones he needs to face. These two are soul mates, and their journey is filled with an emotional conquering of the past, remembered laughter, and hope for a love that neither thought they'd achieve. This is Ms. Douglas' debut, and it's truly wonderful! I'm not sure why this one took so long for me to read, I know that when the RT award nominees were announced, this one moved to the top of the TBR. And yet, it's another year passed and here were are. What a gem I've been missing out on! This one is a definite for the keeper shelf and I'm sure I'll be enjoying it again and again.

This book had a good vibe. I enjoyed that the book was set in Australia. I don't get to read many books that are set where I live and to see a Christmas was fun. I also liked that the two main characters had feelings from 10 years ago that made their interactions so much more interesting to read.

Sol Adams comes back to his childhood town to face some ghosts, and also finds Cassie Campbell, still there... The way they find their way - finally! - to each other is romantic and very moving, with the whole country town cheering them on, and Christmas and kittens upping the stakes. Sweet and full of beautiful warm fuzzies, thankyou so much Michelle Douglas! A lovely read.

This is Ms. Douglas' debut with Harlequin. It's a wonderful love story of tortured pasts and dark secrets, and a reunion of soulmates. Sol and Cassie are great characters. This is a book for my keeper shelf!
