This gay ménage novella was written as part of the "Don't Read in the Closet 2015" event for the MMRomance group on Goodreads.com.
It's Travis's first professional modeling shoot--or so he thinks. So why is his photographer pulling out a badge and a gun, and why is the SWAT team storming the place? Travis thinks maybe it wasn't such a good idea to reveal to the handsome guy that he's always had this fantasy about being topped by two muscular guys.
Or maybe it was the best idea he'd ever had. Travis is about to find out what happens when two gay Vice cops with a secret love affair decide to add a third, to add to their BDSM play.
(Original prompt from Goodreads:
Dear Author,
I never expected the cops to bust in on my photoshoot! How was I supposed to know that the modeling agency was just a front for prostitution? I’m not a hooker! You’d think the two Vice cops would have better things to do than to keep shooting me glances. What is with all the smirks? It’s not my fault they won’t let me get dressed! What am I going to do now? Why do I get the feeling I’m not ready for what I read in their eyes?

Travis:
Dexter/David:
Jason:
Say it one time with me...YUMMY FUCKSTICKS! All of those three in a kinky threesome? *quelts*
Travis is an aspiring model. He picks the best day to go on a go-see for a modeling agency. The agency is a front for a Mexican cartel prostitution ring in San Diego. Photographer David (Dexter) is an undercover cop who has been working undercover for six months. He misses his man and fellow vice detective, Jason.
Though if I was in Dexter's shoes, I'd probably be semi attached to Jason's groin. Just saying. I have a disgusting crush on that wrestler.
What was I saying? Oh yeah...
So Dexter and Jason are not out at their job, have been in an open relationship for years and both miss each other because no one plays them like each other. Did I mention Dexter is a switch and Jason is a Dom?
They like to co-top when a third is added to the mix.
See all of this? Hot.
But something about this story was hot and cold for me. :(
Maybe it's because I've already read one of BDSM menage at its finest a few months ago and every menage I've tried to read (especially kinky ones) since then pales in comparison? *shrugs*
This is my fourth or however many menage I've read and tried since then and at least I finished this. But the sex scenes, while hot, didn't really do much. Maybe if I was newer to kinky MMM, I'd probably be ecstatic. I'm a little to the right past meh.
The story is good. The writing easy to follow along. The author stuck the prompt. I liked most of the interpretations.
Some niggles that kinda ruined the moment for me:
1) I know the modeling agency was a front...but which agency would offer coffee and doughnuts to potential models. If I were Travis, I'd have hightailed my cute ass outta there. Modeling agencies offering water? I'd buy that. Coffee? Maybe. Doughnuts? Nothing doing. It's either a set up or test to see if you'd take it.
2) An even bigger misstep - Travis thought this, "He'd always prided himself for his self-control. Heck a lot of his acquaintances didn't know he was gay".
Oh really? Then what was Travis commenting on his Facebook page whiles sandwiched between "two beefcakes" who were lifting his shirt and him writing “Wish they would’ve taken me home!” for all to see?
"He clicked through Travis Fontana’s Facebook page, found via his email, and grinned. So the guy was definitely gay, out and proud. Not only that, he seemed to post a lot of pictures of overly muscled military-type men. And he’d even talked about a few fantasies."
Travis did a great job keeping it a secret. Right.
3) Jason and Dexter are long time players in the scene, keeping their kinky life away from work. Jason rubbing his dick while looking at Travis's pictures in a crowded van and laughing about it, kinda doesn't scream secret to me. And the two of them telling a virtual stranger aka Travis about them and to not tell anyone else about them being a couple...eh...it seemed like putting a lot of trust in some kid's hands. Even if they planned on fucking him.
I see the plot points used to make the story work. And it was a decent job. Even my niggles didn't lower my rating by much, just not rounding up. The sex scene was long and descriptive. Toys (flogger, cane, butt plug, singletail, ties and handcuffs) were hot. Maybe the one part where blood was drawn and nothing was done might've pulled me out of the scene for smidge.
The PWP with plot ends with a HFN that I think has promise for more. I'd read more from this author. It was a hot little number. My favorite part? Not the daisy chain (can you believe it?)
It was the flirtation between Dexter and Travis before the cops came in and bust the party. That read the most organic to me.
My thanks to the author and team behind this event. :)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
The sex and kink were pretty good. It's got a paddle, a cock ring, and even some bondage. T'was hot. And the writing was good as well. The dialogue felt natural, and the story flowed without feeling rushed.
What I wanted more of was an emotional connection. The relationship between the 3 is basically just sex. It was clear that Jason and Dexter felt something for each other, which makes sense given that they've been together for a while, but the three together didn't really have much beyond the sex.
And I wasn't a fan of the initial set-up either. I'd hope that cops about to go in to bust up a sex trafficking ring wouldn't spend so much time thinking about how to nab one of the potential victims as a new boytoy. Made me think that Dexter and Jason were a bit skeevy.
S'okay. Recommended for folks who want to read something kinky that's light on the romance.
Contemporary BDSM story Dexter is an undercover cop working as a photographer at a studio which is under investigation for prostitution and people trafficking. Six months after he started work there the big boss is about to visit - and the police - lead by Dexter's partner Jason (partner both on and off the job - Dexter is a switch (both sadist and bratty masochist, Jason is Top and sadist) are staging a raid. Enter Travis, a student and wannabe model with a dream of being taken by two alpha men. There is an instant physical attraction between Dexter and Travis, which neither hide well during the photoshoot. After the raid, Dexter and Jason ask Travis to go home with them, which he agrees to, and the three end up playing with toys (single tail, crops, paddle, butt plug, cock ring) before getting off. The story ends with a very optimistic HFN ending and potential for the developing three way relationship. I really enjoyed this story, which had all sorts of heat in the long final scene.
I'm somewhere between 2.5 & 3 Stars but I figure GR's going to make me round up so let's just go with 3.
The beginning of the story is an elaborate set up for a kinky ménage scene between the three MCs, Jason, Travis and Dexter. Jason and Dexter are partners on the San Diego Vice squad as well as boyfriends, though their relationship is a well kept secret on the force. They met 4 yrs prior at a leather bar, hit it off and have been together ever since. They have an open relationship, and enjoy co-topping subs. Dexter is a switch and a masochist but not submissive.
Getting bored yet? Feeling a little dry?
I had to. Sorry.
Travis fits the submissive bill and, according to his FB profile, he's DYING to be spit roasted by two beefy, Toppy McToppersteins. Why or how the two tops found it necessary or prudent to look at the kid's FB profile in the minutes leading up to a sex slavery bust that's owned an operated by a Mexican drug cartel is beyond me. But this isn't a mystery so suspend disbelief and all that.
The Beefy ones are hot for Travis and Travis is hot for them so let's do this thing, right?
This is what I refer to as BDSM paint by numbers.
Insert flogger here.
Insert paddle there.
Insert single tail here.
Insert cock ring there.
All the components are there. There's even some begging. And it is hot, but it's dry. It's got no heart, no soul, no...
I felt very disengaged from this trio. Their sexual compatibility is illustrated well, but there's a difference between being sexually compatible and forming a connection. I didn't feel their connection and that's what I enjoy about this genre. However, Hall didn't tack on an inappropriate HEA/HFN either to disrupt the flow.
I liked it but not as well as the other story I've read from this author, though she did a good job with adhering to the prompt.
Thanks to the author and her team for participating in the LOR event.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love Is An Open Road event. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!
Just couldn't get into it. Meh dialogue, cheesy flirting, creepy and inappropriate cops. If your gonna have cops handcuff someone despite not being arrested and flirt and proposition him, I think you have to go whole hog. But these guys are still supposedly good cops and good guys, but their behavior is not consistent with that. Can you imagine how terrified Travis is after this experience? Not the time. If you think of it in real life terms, this behavior is insane. By the time I finally got to the sex, I was just over it.
The pictures were DROOL WORTHY. The prompt was hot and the writing...MERCY these three are HOT.
Thanks J.T. Hall for giving us Travis, Dexter and Jason. The selfish side of says please write a full length book with these guys. I would love to read more of them living together as a trio both in and out of bed. It would be a definite buy for me.
This was.. about how I expected it to be. I'd have given it 4 stars up until the sexscene.. then I had to drop it down to three. It was a quick story, and the characters were fine. It wasn't the best written story, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I found myself wanting to skip through the sex scene though.
I actually enjoyed the build up. I liked the relationship between Dexter and Jason. I liked the lead up to the raid and the photoshoot (ignoring some silly poses).
But I found the sex scene to be... demonstrative. The things that happened seemed to be more to show that they happened than to entice the reader to feel in the story. As a reader of BDSM books, I just didn't get into it, or understand why some things happened.
Dexter (a weird name choice) went undercover as a photographer in a fake modeling agency that was actually a sex trafficking ring. On the day of the raid, a young man comes in for his first shoot. Instantly, Dexter is attracted to him, and he lets his partner Jason know. Jason is waiting to take part in the raid, but can't help but research this young man. There is some back and forth until they decide they'd like to include him in a little 3 way fun. After the raid.
Would I read more books from this author? Yeah.. it might just be the weird flogging bits that took me out of it, or maybe how the 3way was handled. I'm not writing off the author. Would I recommend this book specifically? Probably not.
Who doesn’t love a little man on man on man lovin’? The story was over the top, but the sex was hot if you're into M/M/M ménage . Quick read and not bad for a freebie.
I loved the start of this story. It was hot, sexy and tittilating. As the story progressed, it went more into an erotica direction and the storyline went by the wayside. I did enjoy the menage though. It was yummy.
If you're looking for a scorching hot threesome scene and aren't too picky about character development or emotion, this free short will probably do it for you.
It's not often I DNF a MMM but this was just too ridiculous and too OTT. Some parts were good for a laugh and it's not something to take too seriously but I just couldn't finish it.
This is brilliant! It's hot, it's steamy and it's perfect.
This is a threesome book (if not clear about the M/M/M) and by g-ds has it been forever since I read a damn good threesome erotica.
The first thing I'm going to say about this is the story. Story in erotica doesn't always go well, and it can be quite annoying to have to deal with, especially when it's as "long" as the story in this, but Hall has done really, really well with it. It wasn't too overpowering, there were some sexy scenes within this, and it lead up to the erotica really really well. I think that can be quite hard to do, as someone writing their own erotica series, and Hall did really well with this, and deserves a round of applause.
The second thing I'm going to write about is the erotica itself. Just bear with me a moment, whilst I give Hall a brilliant round of applause. BDSM sex, with correct etiquette, looking after the relatively new sub, whilst having hot scenes between the experts, is absolutely wonderful. It has been TOO LONG since I read a BDSM erotica where actual care, concern, and safe words have been used. The way Dexter and Jason treated Travis was absolutely beautiful, and I cannot thank Hall enough for using the correct etiquette and making sure Travis was looked after.
The third thing I want to say is how I feel about this overall. This was very hot, and it was very well written. It was really well done, and I recommend this. My only critique would be to maybe cut the story down a little more, as little as possible, because it was quite a trek to get to the erotica itself and most people now a days read erotica for the sex, purely the sex, and not for the story behind how it got there. For me, it's not a downside, but for some people, this would be really offputting.
A massive round of applause for correct BDSM etiquette, a massive round of applause for a beautiful story line, and a massive round of applause for getting the whole prompt out in just 66 pages. This was stunning, and Hall really took time with this, which can be shown. Hot, caring, and brilliant.
Four stars, and a definite recommendation from me.
Another one I had for quite some time now, then I needed a book starting with 'V' for my A-Z challenge and without even reading the prompt, started reading. Imagine my surprise, when I really liked it! It was well balanced, although there was a long sex scene there was a nice story before that. I wouldn't mind reading more about them, how their relationship developed out of the bedroom. Might be a very interesting read.
While I enjoyed the steamy scene and the inner dialogue, the story didn't feel complete. The descriptions lacked a bit more detail. What I did love was how images flashed in my brain while reading the scenes and the characters.
Hi everyone, Its Christopher the reader here and the book we are here to talk about tonight is Vice and Exploitation. I read this book for the first time in February and it took me a day to finish reading. I am now going to talk about some of the book details. It was rated as mature for readers 18 and up, and was first published on the 25th of June in 2015. It was told using 3rd person with it following Jason's, Travis's and Dexter's point of view. All together the book had 53 kindle pages.
- I think that this story was written pretty well, I do feel like this book had quite a lot of detail for a quick short read that it was. I loved all the twists and turns that the book had. I thought that it had a good plot and it told us a bit about the warnings about the dangers of not doing enough research on things, as well as the dangers of the internet. I liked that the book had a short flashback scene which explained to us how Jason and Dexter's relationship kind of started in the first place. Another thing that I liked about this book was the fact that it included safe sex and the uses of safe words.
I would have liked to have read a scene were Jason and Travis had formed more of an connection with each other before the last scene that happened in the book. Personally I do think that I would have liked the book more if it was a full length story, the part where the relationship develops for all three of them did feel a little rushed. I think I would have rated it a bit higher if it showed us how their relationship developed outside of the bedroom, with them living all together and making the trio work. I would have like to have also read more about Travis, as I don't feel like we had much information about him as a reader other than he was 20, in college and wanted to do modelling as a job. I think I would have liked it more if the book had focused on him at the start, maybe for the book to have even be told in just his POV, for us to see the story through his eyes.
For each book that I read, I rate it out of 10, so for this I'm going to give it 6.0. Remember this was what I thought about the book personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
This story was hot from beginning to end. Dexter and Jay are undercover cops that happen to also be lovers into kink and BDSM. The story begins on the day when they plan to blow the cover on a mob-run modeling agency that is a front for a prostitution ring. Everything seems to be on track, but then a new model, Travis, comes in to audition. Dexter is posing as the photographer and has the pleasure of walking the beautiful Travis through a photo shoot. Though everything with the bust is about to go down, Dexter can’t help from thinking naughty thoughts about the model. After the bust, Dexter, Jason, and Travis hook up.
I really loved this story. First of all, I was enthralled with the setting in the beginning. It was perfect to have a sexy photo shoot happening in the middle of a sting operation. Though Travis had no idea what was happening and didn’t even know Dexter was a cop, there was always that added tension from Dexter’s perspective. The seductive photo shoot was followed by the hottest M/M/M scene I’ve ever read. Most of the time when I read ménage I get confused about who’s doing what. However, with this story I followed every move while catching the reactions from all three men. Overall, a fantastic read. I recommend this story to lovers of BDSM, ménage, and erotic M/M suspense.
Really great plot that I could not help but keep reading. Loved everything heading toward the bust of the illegal operation that was happening. Dexter's undercover persona was really fun.Liked the little flashback we got to see how Jason and Dexter started their relationship.Their dynamic was different than ones I'd seen before. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about Travis character early on, but it turned out well. His character was innocent and fun to watch squirm when things went crazy. He brought some humor at parts. It was great. I don't read a lot of stories with BDSM in them. I'm glad this is one that I have.
So that's the secret life of vice squad enforcers? Vice and Exploitation is a great short story... very well written by J.T. Hall... the dialogue seemed true to the scenes, particularly in the first part. I really enjoyed this story, which delivered more than expectated. There was a hot build-up which led to a long final scene that was not really a 'turn-off' for me as BDSM usually is. A good read, quick (a little more than 60 pages) and recommended to those who are comfortable with a MMM scenario.
Rereading. I remember enjoying this the first time that I read it. * Finished. Enjoyable novella. If I liked BDSM this would be a better read. I understand that with BDSM the story can be longer, the sex scenes have more actions. When there’s orgasm denial there is more time for descriptive narrative. For me, it does nothing and I don’t enjoy it. Dexter and Jason were a sexy cop couple, I was getting a God and Day vibe from them. Now, there’s a couple that don’t need BDSM to tear up the sheets. I liked the character of Travis and the introductory scenes with him were really good.
This is the second time I've read this book. I didn't remember that I'd read it a few of years ago and as I began to read and recognize it, I also remembered that I didn't finish it. This time around, however, I can't imagine why. It's highly erotic throughout, even through a police raid, arrests and a visit to the police station, interrupting the stream of events. What was only percolating in the beginning, however, blew the lid off in the ultimate 3 way finale. Whew!
A great short story...Travis thinks he's doing a modelling shoot but in reality it's a cover for a prostitution ring..but luckily for him he has two hot cops looking out for him that want to do more than just arrest him....All three characters were great together and this is a perfect read for an afternoon x
Pros: Well written, slightly kinky, one hot (somewhat) scene. Cons: Totally lacking any character development or emotional connection, and the set up has creeped me out.
Just treat it as a fantasy from the beginning, and don't think too hard on real life implications of the cops' (and the victim's) behaviour.
3.5 stars. Good concept. Liked the mmm storyline and I know it was just a short, but I could not get into the bdsm. I felt if the story is developed more...as I am feeling the author will eventually do...it would have excited me more.
The prompt pictures were totally drool-worthy, but unfortunately the story did not quite delivered. Mainly because my expectations were too high. Still, it was a good solid story, with some standard bdsm elements.
Fast reading novella involving two hot vice cops, one hot male model and a successful raid. Sound like a porn vid? There you go ~ honestly, pretty damn hot and nicely written.
Seemed like a good plot point and warning about the dangers of the internet. Bdsm was a lot for me to take in and didn't really help me to enjoy the story. It was interesting to learn and understand more of that world. And I am glad the author established and maintained the rules for proper BDSM.
A quickie with two hot cops plundering a twink. The set up is nicely done. The spanking is delicious mixed with the flogging. The three some getting it off with the twink fucked hard in the ass is arousing. Good for a bit of "me-time".
