I’m about to read the next two issues but I didn’t think it was all that bad! I know that none of the evil dead comics are canon (I mean have they ever actually been greenlit by Raimi or Campbell?) but it did a good job keeping that similar vibe.

I love Annie, she’s a great foil to Ash being dumb as shit, so having a comic seeing her use her strengths was cool! I’m glad they didn’t make Evil Dead’s “hell” a religious thing, cause it’s more of just a realm of dark spirits than a place for dead people.

Overall, considering there’s some real shitty Evil Dead comics, I’m going to be generous with my rating. If they kill Annie again in the next two issues though, I’m gonna throw hands.

I hated the first Army of Darkness comic I read (Ashes 2 Ashes), thinking it was created by puerile people who didn't think Army of Darkness was gory enough or raunchy enough. I always liked Annie Knowby and was disappointed by her apparent death in Evil Dead II, so I picked this up. I really appreciate the stylishness of using the flying deadite eyeball a frame, although Annie doesn't look as much like Sarah Berry as Ash looks like Bruce Campbell, possibly for legal reasons (probably the reason the book is called Ex Mortis rather than Necronomicon Ex Mortis as in the film). The story is told from Annie's point of view, and Ash is a simulacrum she creates from her blood and a sample of his severed hand, on which she is able to turn the tables once the house is taken to Hell. Interesting ideas and only three issues. I read the first two last night and will definitely be picking up the third.

This was a pretty interesting Annie story about how she expelled the evil, along with Ash to the other dimension, but in doing so, sent the cabin to hell.

Once in hell, she discovers her bone dagger is feared by the demons and when killing them with it, the blade charges with more and more power. With this power and some of the spells from the book at her disposal, she decides to creat a similacrum to assist her. Of course this could not just be any doppelganger, though.

This came out of left field for me and I picked it up on a whim. I would have never expected this story and that is part of what made it good. I'm fully on board for this short ride into insanity.

Really Digging this concept and Story. In this first ish We go back to The Cabin, after Ash was sucked into the Vortex. With her last breath, Annie Knoweby fights the Deadites, and is directly brought to where the souls of The Evil Dead go to. She then uses the book to bring back another ASH to Help assist and defeat these Demons. Love the fact that we are given and get to See in this 'What if' scenario what a cool Secondary character with potential like Annie is further of capable of doing in the Evil Dead storyline.

I was kind of disappointed in this book. I am a huge fan of the television series and expected a nice story. The storyline in this book seems to kind of go all over the place and had very little depth. I have read issues #1 & #2 and think that this will be my last one. I must say that the artwork however is amazing. It really shows in the vivid details different aspects of the monsters in Hell. I can't fully recommend this one though, although I tried my best to fully enjoy it.
