Wow. Just wow. This is the first book I've had the pleasure of reading from this author and I have to say that I am very impressed. There are no words to describe how much I loved this book. The characters, the settings, everything was amazing and very well orchestrated.
Tristan Lyons is the bass guitarist of The Nights, a very famous band. He is a heartbreaker and a man who doesn't believe in love and all the pain that comes with it. When he gets away from his life in order to clear his head, he doesn't expect to meet the love he has always despised.

Ireland is a young woman, a runaway model, who is trying to avoid the life her family has thrust upon her. Getting married to a man she doesn't want isn't what she wants for herself. Her world collides with Tristan's when they have to live under the same roof.
Each drowning in their own sorrows, they unwillingly come close. Tristan is attracted to Ireland but Ireland knows that he would never want anything deeper with her. She doesn't want to be one of his conquests.
When their feelings threaten to consume them, they start a timid but very strong affair that will change both of them forever.

Choices must be made and secrets will be revealed. Will their feelings be strong enough to change them? Will love be enough to bring them together?

The writing amazed me. Tristan and Ireland have to be one of the best couples I've had the pleasure of reading about. Their story captivated me, excited me, broke my heart only to put it back together again. They were perfect for each other but they both had to search deep inside themselves in order to see that. Each character grows as the story unfolds and as they are forced to make choices, they discover more about themselves. They take chances, they dare to love and they dare to dream things that until now were untouchable.
Fantastic pace and overall, an amazing book that will make you feel, laugh and cry. I totally recommend it. I cannot wait to start the other books in the series as well.

5 Rocking Stars from me!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

“When two lives are meant to be together, there is nothing that can stand in their way.”

I thought that Perkins Vale had stolen the show and the members of the Nights couldn't get any hotter, and then Tristan arrived, and blew that theory apart. The Truth of Tristan Lyons is the fourth book in the Legendary Rock Star Series by L. B. Dunbar. This series has, to this point, brought two of my favorite reads of the year.

“Tristan’s body language screamed, “strip-me-of-my-clothing-and-have-your-way-with-me.”

Tristan Lyons is the Heartbreaker. He knows how to bring a woman to her knees, and then leave her there. As we know from the previous books in this series, he has been through a very difficult time with all of the recent happenings with the Nights. So, we are awaiting the possibilities of this man, who will not be tied down, to meet his match and come to his knees.

“She was my sun and I was the sand. I was drifting, and she was lighting the way for my travel out of the darkness.”

Ireland is a mystery. She is beautiful and sweet, always offering more than she has to in order to be kind to others. She is the perfect female lead for this book, and we immediately take to her because of her personal qualities.

“I was waiting for that love, the one who would stick.”

Having read about Tristan in previous books and the synopsis for this book, I had made assumptions about what to expect from the playboy rocker. But, I had no concept of the reality that was this book. As has been the case in all the books in this series, L.B. Dunbar wooed me with her descriptive word choices, allowing me to easily visualize and experience all of the people, places, and things present in the story. Tristan and Ireland were very unique and outstanding characters. The draw and pull they had toward one another was like none other. The added bonus was that their story was told in dual points of view and allowed me to read their own accounts of the events that took place; I felt like I was floating on a cloud with them. There were points of extreme pleasure and ones of pain, shocks and surprises. But, what counted most was the end result.

“Nothing is truer than love; your heart will always find a way to win.”

A song came to mind about being stranded. A girl was there to save me, and now we would never be torn apart. She rocked gently over me and my thoughts shifted to the feel of her surrounding me. We were one. This was real and honest. The moral of my tale was nothing is truer than love; your heart will always find a way to win.

L.B. Dunbar has once again made me fall in love with one of the Legendary Rock Stars and this time it's Tristan Lyons turn. Ok, let me start with I am partial to green eyes, but that whole favorite flavor, heartbreaker thing had me thinking maybe I won't love him. I couldn't have been more wrong.

As with all the Nights, Tristan Lyons has a story to tell. In The Truth of Tristan Lyons, L.B. Dunbar lets his story be told. We begin to learn why Tristan is the person he is today and how one meeting one person sends him on a road to wanting to be someone even better.

Tristan like the rest of the Nights is not taking the disappearance of their leader Arturo King and the rest of the chaos surrounding them well. You've already read how Lansing Lott and Perkins Vale handle their stories. Wait, you haven't? Well go one click right now. Tristan will wait until you get up to speed. Anyway, Tristan needs to get away from it all and winds up hiding away at a beautiful mansion in the Cayman Islands. Tristan is ready to drown his woes in booze and women until a tiny blonde throws a wrench into his plan.

The blonde in question is named Ireland...just Ireland if you will and after she convinces Tristan she's not a groupie and she too belongs at this particular vacation home, they agree to stay and basically keep out of each other's way. And that works for them until it doesn't.

You see, Tristan isn't the only one that's hiding in this beautiful island paradise. Ireland is on the run and the girl has some pretty big secrets to hide. While they've decided to keep to themselves, they of course being two very beautiful people form an attraction.

Then Tristan finds out one of Ireland's secrets and to his great surprise what he learns makes him jealous. Tristan also comes to find out Ireland is very inexperienced when it comes to men. So he very graciously offers to give her "lessons" in pleasing a man. Of course these lessons please both Tristan and Ireland and they find themselves falling in, gulp, dare I say it....love. Only they won't admit their feelings to each other and considering Ireland's secret, inside both feel this hideaway relationship can only end badly.

The relationship Tristan and Ireland is not only incredibly sexy but genuine. Ireland is understanding and accepting of Tristan. They truly care about each other and I was cheering for them the whole way through.

Tristan and Ireland's adventure comes to an end when Ireland family learns where she's been hiding and come to collect her. Then there's also the phone call Tristan gets telling him something we've all been hoping for, Arturo is ready to come back.

So our lovers are now separated, but not for long. Fear not, the fates will intervene and they will run into each other again.

The Truth of Tristan Lyons also gets us caught up on the lives of Perkins Vale and Lansing Lott. I for one love seeing the band together. When they played for the first time since Arturo was lost it was fantastic. Then Arturo shows up and holy plot twist!

As a book boyfriend, I told you at first, I didn't think Tristan was my cup of tea. Then L.B. had to go and give him green eyes and dark hair that he's always running his hands through and I was sunk. Not to mention his toned and tanned body that I was jealous Ireland could touch and I couldn't. What can I say? He's very sexy.

I love the way the story of the Nights is unfolding. I love the way L.B. Dunbar tells a story. I love the language she uses, how the story flows and how she keeps the rest of the Nights coming back into each story.

Truthfully, I just keep liking these books more and more as the series goes on and as much as I'm excited for Guinie's story, I'm so sad that the series will be ending. That being said, if you haven't started the Legendary Rock Stars Series...DO IT NOW!!! It's sooooooooo amazing. I promise you'll love it.

A five lip smack review for L.B. Dunbar and The Truth of Tristan Lyons. I loved every bit of the book and Tristan.

As I began reading this series, Tristan was my least favorite. Really, he is known as the Heartbreaker for a reason, and I just cannot like that for many reasons. Even the way he treated Guenie after Arturo disappeared was just horrible. He is a snake, a womanizer and he didn’t deserve to be liked.

In the development of this story, Tristan grew on me as a hurt boy that didn’t know how to love. He was orphaned and passed on to an uncle that didn’t really show love, only abuse. When shown just what hard upbringing he had, it opened up my mind to sort of like him.

As the story and characters developed, I fell in love with the story of Tristan and Ireland. They were destined to be together and as fate would have it, torn apart. The angst and love in this story tore me up in many ways and had tears in my eyes throughout the night. Yes, I read the entire book in one sitting, how could I not!!

This edition to the Legendary Rock Star Series answered many questions, but also left me with many more. I am eagerly awaiting the final installment to get them all answered and see just what happens in the end.

LB Dunbar is an amazing writer and has captured me from the first chapter of the very first book! I suggest starting there to understand exactly what is going on in Tristan’s book!

I loved the fourth installment of this series. This is not a stand alone book. You will want to read the previous three books in the Legendary Rock Star series. This book picks up right where book three leaves off.

Love is finding each member of the Nights....but not Tristan. He has earned himself the reputation as the Heartbreaker. Never a one-woman man and never in love. But as he is surrounded by love and loss, he decides to get away. Mystery still surrounds the disappearance of Arturo, his best friend. What Tristan desires is the quiet seclusion of an island. What he finds is Ireland at this island house doing the exact same thing.

Ireland has a life that is not her own. What she craves is some peace and quiet and a little sense of control in her life. Love does not even seem like an option. What she finds is Tristan, who is lost, completely out of control, and the last person looking for love.

This book puts a great modern day twist on a very old, legendary love story (no spoilers on this one, it's a great surprise when you get it). Again, this book like the others in this series, weaves a tale of love, pain and mystery while teasing us with more clues as to what happened to Arturo King and asking yourself if the Nights will ever be reunited.

From reading the first three books in this series, I was not a fan of Tristan at all. I was actually not looking forward to reading this book, as I have disliked Tristan from the beginning. Boy was I wrong! Not only did I not give him credit for how deep he is as a character, I actually found myself liking him more and more as his story developed. I thought his story was one of the best in the series; it's unlike anything I've read lately, which also increased my appreciation for the story.

I enjoyed the characters in this book. I liked the story between Tristan and Ireland, and I thought the overarching plot was furthered a great deal in this book. I cannot wait to read the last part of this series to finish answering all of my questions.

As with the other books, the writing is spectacular. This series definitely needs to be read in order, and I highly recommend all of the books.

The Truth of Tristan Lyons is the fourth book in the Legendary Rock Stars Series. This series gets better with every story.

Tristan is a ladies man; this earned him his nickname Heartbreaker. He doesn't believe in love. He goes to stay in the Caymans; more like he goes away to hide. Ireland is also running from her life. She is surprised to find Tristan at her mother's house. These two have chemistry from their first meeting but will it be enough? Or is love a lie?

I have fallen in love with the characters in this series. Tristan and Ireland's connection is strong and intense. It was a way for both of them to see that love is real but will it survive as all of the lies unfold?

Arturo returns in this installment and we get some answers. However, this book still leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I cannot wait to read The Trials of Guinevere DeGrance.

I'm not sure I can describe my reaction to this book other than WOW! The writing and the imagery Ms. Dunbar shares with the reader is beautiful. She paints a picture for the reader that pulls them into the Caymans and then tosses them back into the reality of New York City. There are some shocking revelations for the band in this book, some personal-some professional. This series is unlike any other rocker series out there and Tristan's book is bound to be a favorite. Remember the old saying? The bigger they are, the harder they fall. The Heartbreaker meets his match!

It seems the general consensus of all that read this book is WOW! And I'm am no different! I've read each in the series and each time I say that I love this one the best. Tristan is another cocky, arrogant, self centered rocker that turns out to be human. LB Dunbar has blown me away with this series. I really can't get enough. I'm ready to find out what really went on with Arturo!

4.5 stars
I don’t mean to be redundant, giving each of the books in this series 4.5 stars so far, but I’ve have no choice at this point – they are all really that good! And while I originally didn’t understand the connection between this segment of the series and the Arthurian legend, the author discusses this aspect at the end of this book. Apparently the story of Tristen and Isolde was added in later retellings of this legend and is the author’s favorite part of this lore. And with the way she wrote this particular book, I cannot say I’m surprised. This was the book I looked forward to the least, yet I think I enjoyed the most thus far.
This book chronologically occurs after the second and third books, which were happening concurrently, so the story has moved on. His friends and band-mates have leaned on Tristan hard with the disappearance of Arturo as well as the drama surrounding their own love lives. He decides he needs a break and arranges for their manager (Arturo’s step-brother) to book a beach house for him to use as a hideaway on Grand Cayman, a Caribbean island. His requests…lots of his favorite vodka, food, and a cleaning staff. His thought was, “I wanted warmth in the sun, cool vodka in a glass, and nothing else…” This guy has simply been on overload for quite some time and he needs to check out in more ways than one. His plan is hole up in the house and drink himself into oblivion while he hides out from the world.
Once he arrives to his beach-front getaway, he’s surprised to find a woman arriving shortly after him. He, of course, thinks she’s a fan-girl who must have followed him from the airport and tells her she has to leave. But this girl digs in her heals and tells him she belongs there and he should be the one to leave. They both know the owner of the house and when he finally threatens to call her (the owner), this girl backs down but begs him to not tell anybody she’s there. She promises he won’t even know she’s there but she needs a place to hide out from the world. Since they seem to have this need in common, he decides to let it slide – for now.
When he asked this girl if she knew who he was, she seemed genuinely perplexed (one of the reasons he decided to give her the benefit of the doubt) and when he asked her what type of music she listened to, she quickly answered, “Country.” Ahh, so that explained it! When he asked her for her name, she just answered, “Ireland.” So they know each other’s first names and co-exist – for a while. And then, not so much.
Tristan is used to women falling at his feet. No woman ever turns him down. And when he’s drunk and feeling good, he finds having a female “roommate” a great idea, until she shoots him down flat…
“Tristan, get off me,” I said again, pushing on his chest with gentle force. This only seemed to reinforce his counterbalance to press back on me. “I need relief,” he sighed, kissing my shoulder. “Well, I don’t.” I shoved harder. “Yes, you do. You’re uptight.” “I am not.” I tried again, the exertion of pushing on him straining my voice. “Yes, you are. Look how hard you’re pushing me, and I’m barely holding you down.” “Are you listening to yourself? You’re holding me down. Against my will.” “I promise you’ll like it.” He smiled crookedly. For a flicker of a millisecond, I almost gave in with that smile. Dammit. “Get off!” I shoved with both hands and twisted my hips, putting my whole body into it. This forced him to roll to the side, falling off the couch, but dragging me with him. His body wedged between the ottoman and the couch as I lay on top of him. I could feel his excitement. I was pissed. I pushed up on his chest, but he gripped my hips to hold me in place. “Ah, right there, honey,” he groaned, as he rotated his hips to push against me. “Let. Me. Go,” I said, my hands firmly into his chest, attempting to raise my hips off him…”No,” I said holding his gaze. His lopsided smile continued to mock me, and he moved his hips upward once more. This time I held myself still. “**** no,” I emphasized, hitting his chest. “Oh yeah, baby, say dirty words to me.” “You’re pathetic,” I snapped. “That’s not nice,” He fake pouted in response. “You’re not nice,” I answered back. “I can be very nice,” he laughed….
These two didn’t play very nice in the sandbox, at first. But things begin to change and they started viewing each other as human. They became friends. They felt as if the other was someone they could begin to feel comfortable around. I really enjoyed this time between the two of these characters. They walked together. They ate together. He decided to try to teach her how to play the guitar (not her talent, though) and she cooked for him. I loved “watching” these two begin to connect. There was no insta-love here, they grew as friends and yet, there was still an underlying attraction between the two of them.
Once the real world starts to gradually seep into their own little world, events occurring there began to affect them in unwanted ways. And with these changes came the knowledge that their time together on the island is about to come to a close, and their attraction to one another begins to become all they can think about…
He was gentle at first, as the intensity built while I pressed against him, rubbing my center over the length of him. I could feel how hard he was, bulging against the zipper of his shorts. My dress had ridden up to my hips, and my thin underwear wasn’t preventing me from feeling everything. I was wet again. I felt it without him telling me. My hips took control and I wrapped a leg over his thighs. His hand slid down to that thigh, and he gently pulled back, up and back, establishing a rhythm against him. “You okay with this?” he said against my lips. “Yes,” I sighed and he attacked my mouth again…”I need you to know, this isn’t what I intended to happen,” he said between kisses. “And if you keep this up I can’t be held responsible for the mess I will make in my pants,” he kissed me more. “But if we stop right now, I might lose my mind,” he groaned, as he kissed me again…”My Irish Isle,” he groaned, as he kissed a trail down my neck….
These two together were hot! And although Ireland was supposed to stay “pure” (yes, she’s a virgin), being around Triston makes that very difficult. He’s sexy, he’s sweet, he’s genuine when he’s with her, and he honestly cannot keep his hands off of her after a while. These two made me remember what it was like to really fall in love for the first time and although turbulent (as most first loves turn out to be), I cannot tell you how much I loved watching it happen between these two characters.
And when the “real world” literally comes busting in their door, it’s time to go back to that real world where they cannot be together (for reasons you will discover when you read this one), or can they? Will their love be strong enough, real enough to withstand family politics and threats and media and everybody else’s opinions on the matter?
I never really “got” who Triston was until this book. Sure, he’s one of The Nights and has been there all along, but other than the fact he has “flavors” of the day (or night, in other words, enjoys different women often without repeats), I didn’t really know who he was. Up until this book, he’s been a dawg! But with this installment of the series, I began to understand him. I began to “get” why he’s been like how he’s been and why he’s been disinclined to become involved with just one woman. But with his band-mates falling in love all around him, he begins to wonder whether this might actually be a good idea for him too, if he could find the right girl. He sees their happiness (well, mostly) and begins to want that too.
When he gets to know Ireland, he begins to think that maybe being with one special woman would be a pretty amazing thing - if that woman was Ireland!
I liked both of these characters very much. I feel like, especially with this one, that I have become firmly pulled into The Knights world (as it were) and have enjoyed my time here very much. Unfortunately, there’s only one book left in this series, and I am already feeling a bit of sadness, knowing my time with them is almost over.
This is how you know when they’re good books – when you find you are very sad knowing you will need to “leave” the characters soon, and you begin to mourn losing them when you still have another book in the series left to read! But here’s the beauty of books…I can always go back for a visit, and I very well might do just that when it comes to this series!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I can say I was very impressed. It wasn’t until I got to the end and read the authors note though about the tale of Tristan and Isolde that I was like ‘doh’ how did I not see what this story was based on! I was starting to see a few similarities with other characters, Arturo/Arthur, Lansing Lotte/Lanelot and Guinevere, but because I hadn’t read the first three in the series I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I’m not sure about the others in the series but this one can definitely be a read as a stand-alone. Mostly because a lot of the story is just Tristan and Ireland by themselves on the island which I loved as it was great to see how they developed as characters together in that environment.

So Tristan, a guitar playing rock star, comes across to begin with as a bit of a playboy and a very big jerk, borderline moron. He needs to get away from all the hype about Arturo going missing after his accident. He can’t stand not knowing where his friend is and feels the need to escape the pressures that have been building so plans a stay on a Caribbean island. He wants to be alone with no distractions, mainly so no-one can have an opinion on him drinking himself into oblivion, what he doesn’t expect is a blond beauty to show up expecting to stay aswell. His first thoughts are that she is a fan girl and can’t believe that she doesn’t know who he is.

Ireland is a famous model that needs to escape just as badly as Tristan does but for very different reasons, being forced to marry a man just to cover a debt for her parents would lay heavy on anyone’s mind. She comes to the island to hide from her troubles, needing time to think things through. She is not impressed the first time she meets Tristan and doesn’t really want to be there at the same time but has nowhere else to go. They are both pleased that they don’t seem to recognise each other, that way they can just be themselves.

The journey they go through from basically hating each other after Tristan’s drunken behaviour to slowly connecting on a romantic level is told very well. The more time they spend together the more intense it becomes between them. It doesn’t take long for those feelings to turn into something more and when it does they can’t seem to get enough of each other. But with their time on the island coming to an end the secrets they both carry about who they really are and what they are running from soon come to light and it will take a lot to keep them together with all the obstacles now in their path. Can love really conquer all and give Tristan and Ireland the ending they both deserve?

A great bit a writing that will keep you hooked throughout with how the story unfolds before your eyes. You are practically begging Ireland at times to just stand up for herself though. I mean come on girl do you know what century you are living in, you can’t be forced to marry someone you don’t love, especially when the man you really love is right before your eyes.

I received this ARC from Give Me Books for my honest review.

“This was real and honest. The moral of my tale was nothing truer than love; our heart will always find a way to win.” ~Tristan~

PHENOMENAL, AWESOME, I could go on and on about how much I loved this book. I fell in love with Tristan and Ireland from the very first pages of the book! I literally finished this book in one sitting. I’m sure I stopped to do some things, but I couldn’t tell you what I did. I just wanted to know if Tristan finally got his HEA!

Tristan, the sexy, party boy has decided to escape the events that have forever altered the band. He arrives in a tropical paradise that will give him the break he needs, but his restful respite is interrupted by a beautiful stranger, Ireland. Fireworks erupt from their first meeting and not in a good way. The two really don’t like each other, at first, but that changes as they come to a peaceful co-existence. A tenuous friendship begins, and the two really enjoy spending time with each other, yet at the same time, they are fighting their underlying attraction to each other. Will they finally give into their desires? If they do, will their relationship be able to survive when they return to their normal lives, especially when their secrets come to light, and they realize their lives are connected in a way they never imagined?

As with all of the books in the series, The Truth of Tristan Lyons, is based on a medieval tale; this beautiful, emotional one is based on Tristan and Isolde. And, I felt incredibly connected to the characters like I always do in each one of Dunbar’s books. What struck me most about these two is they are physically stunning, and in a sense the world doesn’t see past their physical beauty and see their true beauty lies in their souls. The public thinks they have perfect lives, but little do they know each has lived with pain of some sort of rejection in their pasts. They love each other for who they truly are…flaws and all.

Like the other books in the series, the mystery (which I am not telling you about) continues to deepen. Some questions are answered, but at the same time, more questions arise. As one mystery is answered, another one begins. The mystery, along with Dunbar’s descriptive writing, will pull you in and not let you go until the end. Then, when the end arrives, you will hate that you finished so quickly, but you can look forward to the next book, and just pray that it will be soon!

I have written this review at least three times, trying to get it right, so that you, my fellow readers, would know how fantastic this book was. L.B. Dunbar continues to amaze me with each book she writes. She truly captures the romance, adventure, and magic of medieval legends and makes her own modern love story. And, with every book she writes she just gets better. She gives her readers just enough mystery throughout each book to keep us anxiously awaiting the next one…which may I say cannot come quick enough. If you’ve never read anything by this talented writer, you really ought to journey into the magical world that is The Legendary Rock Stars.

The truth about Tristan is that he's afraid to love because he envisions love entailing nothing but pain, so his lifestyle choices fit his fears and allow him to be the reckless playboy.

Another truth about Tristan is that he's more than a manwhore guitarist. There's depth to him that is only shown in shorts bursts in the previous books, like when he consoles Guinie and feels the intense loss of Arturo.

But the biggest truth about Tristan is that his childhood and living arrangements shattered a boy who could believe in love and happily ever afters – a boy who constantly had to prove his worth and the value of music to his Uncle, but it was never enough.

But a certain Irish beauty might just be the person to show him the way to feel and the truth about love.

The truth about Ireland is that, like Tristan, she's hiding from the current state of her life because she's being forced to live it a certain way under her mother's dictate and it's destroying her.

Another truth about Ireland is that there's so much more to her than a pretty face and thin body, but she's rarely allowed to show who she truly is until Tristan.

But the biggest truth about Ireland is that she's afraid to stand up for herself in order to get what she wants because she's always done what she's been told, but when she gets away from her real life, she starts to understand what she could have if she only took back control of her life was honest about what her and Tristan’s distracting acts really are.

Each couple in L.B. Dunbar’s Legendary Rock Star series seems to give each other what they need, whether they realize they need it or not, and that is definitely the case for Tristan and Ireland, but it’s so much more than that…they both have misconceptions of what relationships are supposed to be like and what love is supposed to look like, and those warped ideas have forced them both down paths they no longer want to travel. But while Tristan and Ireland can admit that to themselves, it’s harder to tell everyone else because there are outside forces that disagree and have the power to do something about it.

After reading The Truth of Tristan Lyons, his Heartbreaker nickname represents a much different idea because it defines more of what he does to himself than what he does to his conquests, and in order to live down the negative moniker, he’s going to finally have to put everything on the line for Ireland – in order to save her and himself.

Once again, L.B. Dunbar delivers a tale full of secrets, passion, and heartache. There’s a definite theme of duty/sacrifice vs. love/connection and that idea will resonate with readers.

I absolutely adore this series and its knights of the round table, and I can’t wait for Arturo and Guinevere’s tale to be told.

I received an ARC of this book for the purpose of an honest review.
This rock star series is really drawing me in! Here we are, at book 4! I’m loving the take that LB Dunbar is playing with the age-old legend of King Arthur and his knights (or, as we have it here Arturo and the Nights). Arturo, Lansing and Perkins have each had their turn in the spotlight, and now we have the tale of Tristan.

To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect with this one. Tristan has had such a relatively small role in the other books, and up until now he just seemed like another character, the stereotypical rockstar womaniser who honestly often seemed like a bit of a jerk. His main redeeming characteristic was his dedication to his friends. Great to finally see behind that mask.

His encounter with a mystery woman during his attempt at an escape from the drama currently surrounding his group, the Nights paints a completely new view of him. He starts off as a guy that I honestly can’t stand, but one of the things that hooked me in was his ‘lightbulb’ moment, when he realises exactly what path he was headed down and what he thinks of himself. From that moment on, we finally got to see the hidden man behind the rock star and my thoughts of him changed completely.

Ireland, the mystery woman who interrupted his vacation is simply heartbreakingly sweet. She has her own demons that she desperately wants to escape, and as her story unravels we get a strong idea of why she would have needed to seek refuge. Oh, I felt so bad for this girl from the word go.

She was my sun and I was the sand. I was drifting, and she was lighting the way for my travel out of the darkness. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to let her go. I reminded myself again that I had to but not yet.

And, of course, we have the ongoing mystery thread present throughout the entire series. What exactly is going on with the band’s leader, Arturo, and how do the Nights plan on surviving all that has been thrown in their path?

I am finding it hard to pick a favourite Nights member. I'll just say that I was not expecting to like Tristan as much as I did. Was he a perfect man? No - really, none of the characters in this series are perfect. They all have their distinct personalities, they all make mistakes, and they all have their separate journeys to go through. Hey, the original story of these men is hardly one of flawless characters - far from it, in fact. LB has done a wonderful job of modernising this and I’m really looking forward to book 5 and the resolution of the series. Let the wait begin!

I have been captivated by this series since the beginning. I've loved getting to know all of the characters as they take their journey through the battlefield that is love. But no one's journey quite compares to Tristan's. I had no idea the Heartbreaker's story was so full of anguish. If you've been following the series then you'll be happy to know that this books timeline doesn't overlap like the previous two.

Going in I had no clue what to expect. All of the men who make up The Nights are so different yet very similar. They all love fiercely and give all of themselves to who and what they love. And Tristan is no exception. His life has been hard due to circumstances beyond his control. While he was taking some time for himself, the last thing he expected was to find the beauty who would change his life. Ireland is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. That's saying a lot since she is world renowned model. I loved her kindness and giving heart. Her situation is less than ideal (and that is putting it mildly).

I loved the progression of their relationship. Once they got over their hostility and fear that the other would play spoiler, they formed a real bond. Through his lessons, Tristan really brought out another side to Ireland, one she didn't even know existed within herself. He gave her strength and confidence in who she really was, not just the persona she was for the rest of the world. In return, Ireland let Tristan purge his soul through his music. He became himself again, not the shell he had been since everything that happened with Arturo. When Tristan learns just how bizarre Ireland's situation is and how he is tangled up in this mess he is, he tries to find a way out of it for Ireland. My heart ached for both of them. They so clearly wanted to be together and everything and everyone in their world was conspiring against that happening. Even themselves. While I understood their devotion to their families, I didn't understand how they would willingly make themselves miserable. AND that their "loved ones" would want that for them.

WOW! The Truth of Tristan Lyons took me for quite a ride. I loved every turn for strange that it took. I loved reading the afterward and seeing just how much time and effort LB Dunbar put into researching this character and his story (the original) and how she adapted it into the magnificently complex tale that I read here. And I really liked seeing the band really come together for the first time in what seems like forever. Oh and that little surprise towards the end had me both happy, shocked and stunned silent. I absolutely can not wait for the next and last book in this series!

With each new book in the Legendary Rock Stars series, I find myself saying that it was the best one yet and L.B. Dunbar did not disappoint me. She has once again raised the bar with The Truth of Tristan Lyons. I adored the initial setting of Tristan and Ireland’s first encounter and the way in which it allowed their chemistry and undeniable connection to really spark. I found myself falling fast and hard for this rock star as we got to know Tristan in a whole new way. The mystery of what happened to Arturo and the smaller happenings of the story continued to play out in a manner that was both pleasantly surprising and emotionally charged, keeping me hooked on this great series.

Tristan and Ireland were both distinct characters that you could relate to and root for. L.B. has done a fantastic job developing both of them over the course of this novel, allowing me to fully invest myself in their journey. Tristan unraveled in unexpected ways, exposing his demons, insecurities, and vulnerabilities to the reader and allowing us to connect with him on an emotional level. Ireland is definitely a great addition to the female characters in this series, demonstrating a strength and kindness that was breathtaking. Tristan and Ireland both harbor substantial secrets, in defense of which they close themselves off from the world. Their shared stubbornness and biting wit ensured a story that was bursting with sarcastic banter, tension-filled confrontations, and the occasional awkward moment.

L.B. Dunbar has a magical way of intertwining the histories of her characters. As we learn about Ireland and Tristan’s pasts L.B. places small details throughout their histories that later tie together to reveal an unexpected connection. The way in which these characters were able to lean on each other and the development of their relationship in the harsh light of reality really gave them something deep and true. Their impact on one another was significant lending way to the feeling that these two were unquestionably fated. The plot continues to hold me captive in this latest addition to the series. L.B. Dunbar certainly surprised me with a few twists and turns that caught me completely off guard. The Truth of Tristan Lyons was everything I’d hoped it would be: enchanting, steamy, suspenseful, and utterly addictive!

“‘You. Are. Mine,’ I growled between hard kisses that she returned in equal force. We sucked and bit. She yelped; I soothed. I kissed her with enough force that I could eat her whole, as I licked her lips and tugged them gently with my own.”

5 stars!! This book was so wonderful!! Tristan is totally redeemed with this book, seeing as how he was a total jerk in the others.

Heartbreaker.

I understand why I have the nickname. Hey, what can I say? I like women. All women. It doesn’t matter what shape, size, or color. I’m even into sharing. I’ve done it all, seen it all, but I’m at an all-time low. Who wouldn’t be? My best friend is missing. My uncle’s an asshole. I don’t know who I am without The Nights. We are a band of brothers, soldiering through the world with our music. Only, our faithful leader is gone, and everyone else in the band is falling for the oldest trap: love. Love is a lie. It is painful. It is hurtful.

I need a break. I want to be alone. I'm not prepared to share the exclusive home on the Island. I'm not prepared for her. I don’t know who she is or why she's here. She tells me to call her Ireland. I tell her my first name only. Originally, I don’t want to believe she doesn’t recognize me. Bass guitarist for The Nights, come on? After a while we both play the game. Secrets are another form of lies, aren't they?
Our fantasy will crash to reality too soon. Secrets catch up to you. The truth has to be told. It confirms what I already know: love is a lie.

Until her.

Tristan has, up until this point, was an absolute jerk in the previous books in the series. I don’t want to give too much away, because revelations regarding the band are introduced and it throws a wrench into the whole story. The love story is beyond hot. I loved the way that the author was so descriptive with her writing. It made you feel like you were really in the Cayman Islands with the characters!! I love this series, and this book made me love it even more!!

The Truth about Tristan Lyons by LB Dunbar

I received this book for an honest review.

AHHH!!! Ok one of my favorite stories is Tristan and Isolde…so once I figured that out = GAME ON!!!!!!

So we know Tristan as …wellll…uhm….a slut. I mean he is nice and respectful to Guinne but that is about it. Woman and Booze. Booze and Woman. Either order will do. Well our guitar player is over his fellow band mates all falling in love and tripping over their WOMEN!! Plus he is over Arturo still hiding out. So he goes to the Caymens to ….well drink and have some lady fun times. BUUUT he is met with a strange house guest….scratch that…uninvited house guest.

Ireland is hiding out. We dunno why but know it will be revealed as the story unfolds. Trista and her do not get along AT ALL at the beginning. Truth be told, I didn’t like him at all. But after an incident, Tristan is horrified by his actions. Our hero actually becomes the hero we will fall in love with. He and Ireland form a great bond and soon this bond of fun and hanging turns to feelings and love.

We learn both the reasons for hiding out. We want to see them together and everything seems to be going that way WHEN the BIG EPIC UBER MAJOR…OH NO SHE DIDN’T….TWIST is revealed. Heart + Stopped= DESTROYED…….GASP!!! Our lovers can’t be together. They both want the other but fear of hurting their family stops them for admitting what they really want. Friends, EPIC story line!!! AHHHH I cant tell more or I will totally spill the beans and then LB will be chasing after with me with…with….with….I dunno but I am sure it will be really really bad!!!

Now another huge bomb dropping was the RETURN of Arturo King. Ladies, Lemme tell ya if you think his return is big just wait til you read about his……………tisk tisk…….no spoiler from me!!!!

**I received an ARC for an honest review.**

Well this is another great addition the The Legendary Rockstar series by L.B. Dunbar. I will admit that I thought that I would not be able to fall in love with The Heartbreaker, but I did. I love me some Tristan Lyons. I thought for sure that this book would be filled with things that made me hate and loathe him, but I was so so wrong. He won me over and everything that he did and didn't do made me love him even more.

I also really liked Ireland. I liked that she wasn't to typical vain type, but she was genuine in her shy and pleasing personality. I did like that she didn't take Tristan's crap attitude and that not only did they each break down each others walls, but they helped each other realize their lives were not complete. I felt sorry for Ireland and the circumstances of her life that were forced on her by her family members. I kind of had a feeling where this book was headed but it still did not lessen the shock and surprise when it all came out into the open.

As the other books in this series we get more glimpses of Arturo and as is with the other books it is gradually more. The things revealed at the end of this book make for a promising tale for the next. I can't wait to find out all of the secrets that the secondary characters have been hiding. I can't wait to see how all of the main characters will fair in light of the recent revelations. I just can't wait for the The Trials of Guinevere DeGrance.

I am not really into the historic tales of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, but this series puts a nice modern day spin on those classic tales. I can't help but be intrigued by the authors imagination and how she brings the classic and modern together to keep me entertained all the while still giving that old world feel to it. I really enjoy this series and am excited for more. This is definitely series that will keep you hooked and wanting more of the characters and their tales.

Gifted for an honest review – 4 stars
I love this series, I really do. This is my 3rd read out of the 4 (unfortunately I have not had a chance to read Perkins Vale yet) and they go from strength to strength. I really am quite awestruck that an author can take a character that disappeared at the end of book one and continue to keep them at the forefront of the readers mind in subsequent books. Arturo never takes over, but the fact of the matter is, he’s there.
Tristan and Ireland are absolutely lost in this book, they meet accidentally both wanting to wallow and lick their wounds, they want some alone time to reflect. What they get is a tentative relationship that starts off abruptly; they slowly peel each other’s layers back and settle into a weird kind of relationship. I mean it’s hard for Tristan to look further than a quick role in the hay, that’s what he’s famous for after all, you can see the difficulty he has keeping Ireland in that box. Irelands story is just weird, but in a good way. There’s a healthy dose of manipulation going on there.
Quite a suspenseful read, you don’t really get a lot of the answers until late on in the book, but that’s what makes a good read right? Keeping the reader on their toes, LB did that no problem here and it wasn’t easy to guess what was going on. I liked that very much. I always hate a story that’s too easy to unravel. My hump came really with the back end of the book. I felt let down by Tristan a little, I didn’t think he fought hard enough for Ireland once they were back to reality and for me the story fizzled out a little. I liked the ending but it felt a little flat in comparison to the rest of the book.
So we wait now for Guinee, I think that book is going be the best of them, but again another series comes to an end and this is going to be quite sad as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed The Nights. Highly recommended as LB Dunbar writes one hell of a story.

::Sign::The Heartbreaker. That man could break my heart any day::fans face::
Tristan Lyons is one emotion wreck, constantly drinking himself in to oblivion so he doesn’t have to feel. He could have any woman at the drop of a hat, but when Arturo’s absence, Guinevere’s pain, Lansing’s baby momma drama and Perkins happy nuptials get to be too much, Tristan goes to the Cayman Islands for some peace.
 photo Tristan Lyons Green_zpsdd75ih7b.jpg
Ireland will not take Tristan’s crap. Natural beauty that she is, she doesn’t feel wanted or sexy. She feels as if she is an object for her parents to pawn off and her uncle to get his cheap thrill off of….Ewe Gross! When Ireland meets Tristan, she dumps his alcohol down the drain and demands a change. What Tristan finally realizes is that he could have hurt Ireland, like his uncle used to hurt him and he stops drinking, cold turkey.

This is it! The ultimate rock star courtship and love affair. Be prepared to be swept away as Tristan the Heartbreaker unknowingly falls in love.

If you have been reading this series, you already know the members of The Nights rock band are all characters based on the Arthurian Legend, with some literary allowances, in order to weave interesting stories to fit our times. The each have their own personalities, desires, and dreams. What unites them is music and the band they formed. They are a "band of brothers" melded together by their lead singer Arturo. After Arturo's accident and disappearance, each band member has spun out of control. Each has had to deal with their demons. It is Tristan's turn to "face the music" pun intended.

Ireland comes into his life by sheer Fate. They both end up sharing a vacation home in the Cayman Islands, each running away from the stress and pressures of decisions neither is ready to make. What evolves is a connection that is not easyly dissolved. They are entwined by circumstances and that inevitable pull toward each other as Fate intended.

As a romantic story, this is a beautifully told story of two reluctant lovers. Yet it is more. It is a life lesson about fighting for your own happiness, self-esteem, and independence. This story is masterfully written. I actually believe L.B. Dunbar has achieved the pinnacle of her writing gift with this tale. Deeply emotional, you will fall in love with these characters and their journey to happiness.

How do you put into words the amazingness that is LB Dunbar and her writing? I have read everything that she has written and I have to say that I think this is my favorite of all of her books. I was prepared not to like Tristan, in fact I was prepared to hate him. What I was not prepared for was to fall completely and madly in love with him AND Ireland.

This is the 4th book in The Legendary Rock Stars series and while it is best to read them in order it is not necessary. We learn more about Arturo and what has happened to him. FYI grab the tissues when he returns!!

Tristan is the lead guitarist for the popular band The Knights. He lives up to his name as "the heart breaker" by adapting a love em and leave em attitude. He's never with one girl more than once, that is until he meets Ireland and she quite literally changes his life.

Ireland is a famous runway model who feels obligated to fulfill a promise that her uncle made many years ago. She does not want to do it but feels there's no other option for her, so she runs away for a little while to get some perspective. That is when she meets Tristan who turns her world upside down.

This book is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing. I love the dynamic of this couple so much so that my heart broke for them more than once with all of the misunderstandings and miscommunication. I felt their passion for each other and each time they left each other I felt their pain.

I absolutely adore LB and everything that she writes and this book just made me love her more. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

I love L.B.Dunbar's writing and I just knew I'd fall in love with Tristan! The Heartbreaker himself gets a dose of reality, and he doesn't like it but some things aren't so easy and he is put in a position that will destroy one relationship in someone's life. I loved all the boys from The Nights but I think Tristan is my favorite. Only because we get to watch him develop as person, he learns to let go of himself and find out what life is really about. The plot and story is amazing and flows perfectly, I didn't get bored or feel like I was missing something. Tristan and Ireland have a beautiful relationship then it's back to reality and my heart hurt, it hurt bad for both of them. I feel like this story was so full of angst and feelings, not only from the characters but from me while reading it. Not every story is full of roses and sunshine and this whole series is proof of that, but Tristan and Ireland just made me feel like they had to fight the hardest, and sometimes we don't have a choice. And that is what I took away from this story, sometimes you fight your hardest and sometimes it's not enough, there are circumstances that stand in the way and it's called life. I love a good story that doesn't sugar coat things and I think LB does an amazing job with this, she writes an incredible story but has a dose of real life. Great job Lady Dunbar! I can't wait to read the ending of this super fabulous series!! #TheHeartbreaker

This is the first book I've read by this author and I’m happy to say I'll definitely be checking out her other books, this one is fantastic! Tristan Lyons is a guitarist for the band The Nights. Tristan has always been a bit of a manwhore and is known for breaking hearts. When one of his bandmates is in an accident and disappears Tristan decides to take a break from the real world by borrowing a friend's vacation home in the Cayman Islands. He’s anticipating being alone and getting some songs written, what he’s not anticipating is running into the gorgeous Ireland. Ireland is running way from a life that hasn't been her own since she was promised to wed a family friend by her evil uncle when she was just a child. Her mother forces her to focus all her time and energy on being a swimsuit model and when life becomes to much she decides to run away to her uncle's home in the Caymans. At first Tristan is not happy about having to share his space with Ireland but when the attraction becomes too much to resist he becomes more amicable.
I really enjoyed the progression of this story, I couldn't put it down once I’d started reading. The characters were well developed and it had an original plotline. The only thing I think could have used improvement was that every time they went out together they were snorkeling, I would have liked to see a little bit more originality with the dates, besides that I think it was a fantastic read and I highly recommend it!

ARC received for honest review

Well damn. I just finished Perkins Vale story and thought nothing could compete with that in this series. So far Perkins is my favorite of this awesome series. But then this ARC shows up on my kindle and I jump right in. Perkins, sorry buddy but The Heartbreaker might just have overtaken you as my favorite! Tristan Lyons, The Heartbreaker, womanizer of the The Nights escapes life to figure out his life and drink it away. Unfortunately, the house he is staying in has another unexpected guest doing the same thing. Ireland is escaping trying to figure out how to get out of an arrangement. When she stumbles on Tristan in her family’s house, they find a way to coexist and figure things out. What they find out about each other rocks their world and each needs to find the strength to stand up to it. Meanwhile Arturo has resurfaced and ready to make his reappearance. The Nights and all their respective others have a lot coming at them. Can they handle it?
Once again LB Dunbar has taken us on a journey with her unique way of telling an old story in a modern way. Okay she has made many changes but she does explain at the end of each book. I for one appreciated this since honestly I don’t know much of the story of King Arthur. To me, this is a better version. Still more questions to be answered but I can’t wait to see what those answers are. Thank you LB for another amazing book!

Whoa! Tristan's story was definitely one for the books and held their to the theme of this series.

With the disappeared of Arturo King, the rest of the band have had to find their way without their leader. Each finding their soulmate along the way.

For Tristan, the loss of Arturo led him to drown himself in alcohol and women as he watched Lansing fall for Lila and Perkins find Hollister. Arturo had already found Guinevere before he went missing so he was the odd man out. Starting to feel that emptiness of not having someone of his own, he leaves for some alone time only to find out that decision would change everything for him.

Ireland, was hiding from her family and a future she didn't want and didn't know what to do about the guy she found staying at her hideaway. Both agree to keep to themselves only to eventually form a friendship that brought them closer together. But when they return back to the real world and lives they were running from they faced obstacles that worked hard to keep them apart. They also have face their fears and insecurities when it comes to falling in love for the first time and unsure of the other person's feelings.

It was great to see the last of the band members find their love. Each of them whole with the love and support of a strong woman. Now, all that being said...I'm forced to wit patiently for the rest of Arturo and Guinie's story. I can't wait for the next book.

So... I liked this book the most so far. I give 5 star ratings when they're due, and this book deserved it.

I loved Tristan and Ireland. I loved that this renowned manwhore decided that he wanted to settle down but didn't know how, and then along comes Ireland. Her innocence and sweetness were a great recipe to demolish this man's 'uncommittable' ways. Although I thought that Ireland should have really put her foot down when everyone else was trying to dictate her life, Dunbar wrote this in such a way that I didn't get annoyed. Not once did I stop liking Ireland. That is quite a feat Mrs. Dunbar. Kudos!

Btw, did anyone else feel that Marshall got just what he deserved? I understand that he was the mom's brother, but why didn't she stand up for her daughter??? The man was disgusting right to the end. *shudder* so gross!! And why was Ireland constantly defending Mark. Tristan told her what it was like growing up with that man. If he was willing to do that to his own nephew, why did she think she was special???

Not to spoil anything but... Arturo is back... He's back... My baby's back. And it has made my heart hurt for all of these wonderful characters because they all suffered through the loss of him. But now we see that he suffered greatly as well. I'm so excited to read The Trials of Guinevere to find out the conclusion to all of this. Hopefully all of our questions will be answered.

Once again L.B has outdone herself with the latest instalment of this series.

Tristan's story is everything I have come to expect from this author and so much more.

If you have read any of the other books in this series, you will know that Tristan is the heartbreaker. He is a good time not a long time guy and as a band member of The Nights he has no trouble finding a new flavour whenever the mood strikes. However with the loss of Arturo, the bands leader and the glue that keeps them all strong, Tristan finds himself spiralling and goes off on a holiday (into hiding) to the Cayman Islands.

Isolde is running away from her life albeit temporarily. Her life is not her own and she is escaping to think and come to terms with her future. She flees to her mothers house in the Cayman Islands. What she's not expecting is to find someone already staying there.

The intrigue and character connections in this book will keep you guessing what will happen next to these two as they find their way.

Arturo makes his comeback in this book which raises more questions than it answered so I will be waiting patiently, well as patiently as I can, for the next instalment.

I definite must read for all romance lovers!
