Chris Claremont is a writer of American comic books, best known for his 16-year (1975-1991) stint on Uncanny X-Men, during which the series became one of the comic book industry's most successful properties.
Claremont has written many stories for other publishers including the Star Trek Debt of Honor graphic novel, his creator-owned Sovereign Seven for DC Comics and Aliens vs Predator for Dark Horse Comics. He also wrote a few issues of the series WildC.A.T.s (volume 1, issues #10-13) at Image Comics, which introduced his creator-owned character, Huntsman.
Outside of comics, Claremont co-wrote the Chronicles of the Shadow War trilogy, Shadow Moon (1995), Shadow Dawn (1996), and Shadow Star (1999), with George Lucas. This trilogy continues the story of Elora Danan from the movie Willow. In the 1980s, he also wrote a science fiction trilogy about female starship pilot Nicole Shea, consisting of First Flight (1987), Grounded! (1991), and Sundowner (1994). Claremont was also a contributor to the Wild Cards anthology series.
Technically an X-book so no Bendis, and even worse it's written by the 'not the creator he was' Chris Claremont, but despite that, the Decimation (technically incorrect word usage) of Marvel's mutant community was always going to be an emotive story and the peaks included a classic Logan/Piotr chat, Emma Frost opening up, and the very sad (for me) loss of power of one of my all-time favourite mutants - Overall it could have been so much better, and but does kick ass on first-reading, but once the dust settles it doesn't do that much on re-readings - 7 out of 12. 2022 read, 2018 read; 2015 read; 2011 read["br"]>["br"]>
This is what I call a five star issue! Chris Claremont came through for us 🥳 I was worried that X-men writers wouldn't be able to capitalize on the events of House of M, but he did it. Opportunistic humans capatalized on the catastrophes that befell mutants and sent sentinels after them. A new terrorist group was formed called the sapian league. It looks like they will hunt mutants. Most of mutants don't have their powers anymore. Most prominently are Iceman, Jubilee, Mirage. Magneto became crazy, not evil crazy, but homeless repeat the same sentence all day crazy. Cyclops choose to send all the depowered students home to make room to shelter all mutants in need of shelter. He even setup many storylines for most running X titles right now. Phenomenal job. I only have giant size ms marvel issue left in the omnibus, then it will be the weird materials that I don't even know if it was ever released as single issues.
Ваншот «Спустошення: Династія М - День опісля» («Decimation: House of M - The Day After») є епілогом «Династії М» і прологом до того, що буде відбуватися далі.
Maaann. I feel like Marvel writers really hate mutants sometimes. It's the very day after M-day as the title suggests, mutants worldwide are still discovering and dealing with their loss of powers that feels much like sensory deprivation or amputated limb (cue seeing our favorite X-Men all sad and heartbroken and some are flirting with mental breakdown), and yet anti-mutant humans are already at it with their terrorism against the depowered and remaining powered mutants.
At least Clairemont got one thing right: humans are bigoted assholes and downright trash in general. (Sorry for the bitter pessimism; I've had to deal with Malay conservatives this week.)
The story arc of never-ending struggle for mutant rights is gritty and heartfelt in this one. But tbh I'm already tired of those freaking Sentinels.
Cool concept. The impact that “No More Mutants” has had reminds me of the impact of the Blip. Very cool seeing everyone’s reactions to the mutants losing their powers. The Blob was crazy. Very interesting stuff well done makes me want to read more.
Completamente prescindible
This is just a set up for the next phase of Marvel. It was interesting and introduced the post-Witch world. Captain Britain shows up as a hologram, as himself, and not the king of UK.
This is definitely useful for people who are planning to continue reading the house of m storyline, but i don't plan to so it didn't really do anything for me.
