My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***Received a copy of the ebook for an honest review, but I own a copy already too!!

The cover is just awesome, and I love both sexy beasts ;)

This is a quick read at 40 pages, but I loved it :) This is for adults only because of the steamy scenes. I think of this as an awesome reading snack :) It would be really cool if this story was longer, but it worked as it was. There are going to be 4 books in this series, and this is the first in the series.

This story is about Eva and Bowie who are both cat shifters. There is not much action in this story, but I just loved it. It pulled me in, and I can’t wait for more.

This is the first story I have read by Tabitha, and I really enjoyed it. I know I have quite of few of her stories in my library; I just need to read them :) I can’t wait for the next book to come out next month because I really want to read Kane’s story…I’m very hooked :)

I highly recommend this story those of us who love shifter stories with an HEA.

You’ve seen mine, I want to see yours.

HOLY SHIFT! There is NOTHING MINOR about this story!! What a FURRIFICLY ROAR of a read!! I thoroughly & immensely enjoyed it! I always want my stories to be longer, regardless of how long they are but I don't know if I could have survived this one if there was more to it! Tabitha sure has a way with words which is one of the many, MANY reasons that I love her books, and this one is no exception! She has packed so much into this one short story so that every little part of it is entertaining, which sometimes in a short story, there isn’t room for everything and for it to fit well. Tabitha is able to not only make it entertaining, but she also does it in such a way that you don’t even realize that is was a short story! I quickly fell for Bowie and loved that the story was more “his” story. It seemed to add another dimension to the reading pleasure. I loved the humor! So many times I giggled, snickered, snorting or chuckled! Take this for example: Somewhere in the back of his mind he realized he was being completely irrational, but that little voice was so small he could barely hear it. Now THAT was a “snort” moment! To me, that says a lot about how gifted Tabitha is! Not every author can write a story that is as enjoyable, as engrossing and as rich as this one is, never mind if it is a short story or a full length novel! Too many times with the short stories I am left wondering what the whole point was or why I bothered even reading it! But not this one!! Tabitha has truly amazed, wowed and impressed me with A Minor Shift and with just how PUUURRFECTLY PAWESOME it is!! I cannot wait to read the rest of this series! Tabitha has me totally cativated and that's no lion!! (Did you see that cover! Talk about drool-worthy!)

A Minor Shift: Destiny always finds its way home. Tabitha's gifted talent sparkles as she lures readers into this heart-pounding romantic story.

Bowie Garrison-Army Ranger, sexy, gorgeous, strapping build, alpha lion shifter.
Eva Ross-Army Ranger, FBI agent, sexy, curvy, sassy, jaguar shifter, stunning beauty.
Tiger Kane-Army Ranger, sexy, charismatic, muscular, powerful bear shifter, the voice of reason.

The Rangers are on terminal leave from the army for 60 days. Enjoying R&R, Bowie is compelled to call Eva. He fell hard for her while they were under the same command in Afghanistan. Now back in the states there is no excuse not to be together. He calls her, she tells him she has a date and hangs up on him. Eva does not want anything getting in the way of her FBI career, and Bowie-is #1 on the Stay Away List. Bowie's lion rages; Kane realizes Eva and Bowie are mates. Kane and Bowie drive to Eva's apartment. Bowie confronts Eva, she tells him she lied about the date, so he grabs her and kisses her-their first kiss. Eva leaves him standing in the street, tells him to go away and leave her alone. Kane tells Bowie don't worry she'll change her mind.......

WOW-This story is captivating, powerful, hot-blooded and passionate. The characters are impressive and engaging. The banter-phenomenal and the camaraderie superb.Even though this is a short read it was fabulous. I loved the story-line and this promises to be a fascinating series. Can't wait for Tiger Kane's story. {I received an arc for an honest review}. Without reservations I highly recommend this book and the author...

Whilst I really enjoyed the premise and it all started off great it was just too short to do the start of a series justice, hence the 3 stars. If it was just a standalone short read it would have rated higher. Everything was squeezed in to try to give you some background info but it fell short and left a lot of space for questions. I felt Eva and Bowie had much more to say, we know nothing about them apart from they served in Afghanistan together. It also seemed to end abruptly, like a word count had been met.
I will be reading the next book but really hope it will have further information about Eva and Bowie (whom I really liked) as well as Kane’s story with Piper. I hope it will have more depth and be longer but this sounds like it is going to be a set of short stories which is not realistic for a series. We need to know more about Stryker and Ranger as well. If the next book is a book and it rounds out these new people we have just met this will be a very good series.
I have read other series by this author and enjoyed them all very much.
This is my honest review of this book.

3.5 stars

I think this is a first book for me from this author. I've heard good things about her and decided to see for myself.
My love for shifters means I read a lot of shifter books, Lions have to be one of my fav.

For a short quick read it will feed your addiction. smiles. Where as I did like it, I just felt something missing. Maybe more so everything was good, just not enough of it. A good beginning for a first book in its series.

Even though Eva, all curvy knows there is something about that male. Bowie.. a Lion Shifter knows its something about that woman. They both are tied up inside that keep them blinded by the real reason they are acting like they are toward each other. The prospect that Eva has a date with another male as Bowie growling and seeing a cute lil blonde in Bowie's lap as Eva almost shifting to her cat.

So whats a couple to do when both are a bit slow at seeing and feeling... and letting nature take its course.

Go on grab it read it and enjoy it.

A Minor Shift by Tabitha Conall
Bowie Garrison is back from Afghanistan and he wants to hook up with Eva. They worked together while over there and he can’t seem to get her off his mind. Now that he is about out of the service he is thinking about settling down. Eva has been home for a while and is thinking about her career. Considering how things went for her mom when she was growing up she just doesn’t think a career and marriage will work for her. Now if she can just get Bowie off her mind she can move forward. Since she and Bowie are shifters neither one of them has considered that they might just be mates. Hooking up stateside might be something that neither one can control and it takes a few meetings that aren’t planned to show them the way. Tabitha Conall has woven a story of shifter attraction and thrown in a lot of enjoyable story line. A shifter romance you won’t want to miss.

Uh...no, not really for me. He goes to get his girl, she says no (too work oriented...blah, blah). So, he thinks he'll go to the bar and pick someone else up...wtf. So, she goes to the same bar to meet a friend and he's there with some blonde chick hanging on him....wtf...and supposedly these 2 are mates....yeah, not in my world. Obviously the author is a good writer or else this wouldn't have pissed me off so much....next time cut out that kind of drama.

"A Minor Shift" is the first story in a new series centered around a group of 4 shifters on a mission to get one of them's mother out of an abusive cult. The short story in itself is a classic one in the romance genre, a shifter mating process that one of them refuse to aknowledge at first. Eva's preoccupation is sadly a modern one : she feels she has to sacrifice the idea of having a serious relationship (even more that of a family) to be successfull in her job with the FBI. Luckily, Bowie is caught up with modern life too, ready to help her achieve her dream of work success. All in all, it's a feel-good story about two persons ready to understand and support each other. With hot sex, too.

The overall plot for the series also caught my attention. Busting a woman out of misogynistic pseudo-religious group? Count me in.

This was a superbly well-written short story, which I absolutely enjoyed reading. Bowie cannot forget about Eva, the girl he met in Afghanistan, but when he tries to make contact with her back in the States, he cannot believe what she is telling him; even though it is a lie nonetheless. Eva is concentrating on her career, and Bowie is a complication she can do without, but is he? When Eva sees Bowie with someone else, jealousy takes over – little do they realise they are, in fact, mates. Another aspect of the story reflects on Kane, one of Bowie’s friends; he has a plan in mind, but he needs the help of all his friends to accomplish it. If you enjoy reading shifter stories, this is one I would highly recommend. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Minor Shift is the first book in the White Fir Bend Cult series by Tabitha Conall. It tells the story of Eva and Bowie.

Eva Ross is a shifter that wants to climb the ranks at the FBI. She thinks getting involved with Bowie would hurt her chances to advance her career. So when Bowie calls to tell her that he is back in the states and asks her out she turns down by telling him she's already got a date. Bowie Garrison is a Army Ranger and lion shifter. When he hears her say she will be dating another guy both man and lion don't take it well.

To find out what happens next you will need to buy the book. You will be glad you did. It's a good book. The characters are strong, feisty and sexy. The story is well written. I look forward to the next one.

Taking a chance
Bowie Garrison has had Eva on his mind ever since they were in Afghanistan together. But they never did anything about their attraction back then. Now back in the states and on terminal leave he decides to contact her, only to be told by her she had a date and hangs up. Eva doesn’t believe she can have a relationships and her FBI career at the same time. Bowie’s lion is going nuts and he decides to go see her in person and find out about this date. This is a well written and very enjoyable short story to read.

I just loved how Bowie just went for what he wanted after so much waiting.

Eva wants Bowie, but her ambitions get in the way and she thinks it won't work out, guess she's going to find out how Bowie felt. Her cat is going to get a taste of it's own medicine, maybe a little stronger?

Short, but to the point and raw passion.

I loved it! I was gifted this book for an honest review.

Not a bad book. Kind of typical for a shifter novel. Nothing totally great about it but not bland either. Sort of ends on a cliffhanger or we know the story continues maybe for Kane.

So weak, boring, pointless.

It's more like a chapter in a story, rather than even a novella.

Bowie and Eva. He's just back from playing soldier (set in USA). W are told he's a lion shifter, has a group of fellow shifters, one a bear. All soldiers on leave.
He can't forget a female jaguar shifter-soldier, he knew overseas, but returned home before him.
We are told she is now apart of the FBI, is determined to get ahead, etc..
He phones her, she lies says she has a date, can't see him.
He and his bear soldier-friend head over to speak/confront her.
Argument, kiss, argument.
The boys head out for a drink, she heads out to meet up with a female friend, all at the same place.
Argument, kiss, sex.
HEA.
We find out bear boy grew up in a cult and now wants to go rescue his momma.
End of story.

.... Seriously?
So glad I got this for free, or I would be very pissed to have spent money on what amounts to nothing!

Very short, not very convincing story of mates. They served together in middle East, and it's only now that they are back home, that he realises she is his mate. She is trying to build her career, so turns him down and he gets jealous. Next time she sees him, he's with another woman. I just couldn't understand how she accepted this, it was only a couple of hours before he's declaring them mates. She should have made him work harder for it - she just caved, just like her mother did. This should have been called a minor mating.

Good start to a new series. It was really short, but enjoyable. Eva was likeable but I feel like Bowie stole the show.

In A Minor ShiftArmy Ranger Bowie Garrison has to convince Eva Ross she is his mate. He is a lion shifter and she is a jaguar shifter and they are both back from Afghanistan and free to start dating. She resist because she wants a career in the FBI and is worried finding her mate will get in her way. Bowie is very sweet and convinces her that together they can make it work.

A Minor Shift is a hot shifter romance that moves quickly and has a happy ending.

Eva and Bowie resisted their mating while stationed overseas in a war zone. Now they are back stateside and their cats will be denied no longer. Looks like a good start to the series but the stories are TOO short (100 pages or so for #2) for the money.

An incredibly short story where crew mates finally realize their importance to one another. Sweet story. Not exactly a cliffhanger but eludes to a future story.

Quick short read that still gets the story told. Eva and Bowie know there is an attraction but it takes someone else to get them to realize they are mates. And the mating is off the chain.

A short hot shifter romance that will keep you wanting more and definitely gears you up to want to know more about what will happen in the series as a whole, just wanted it to be a little bit longer. Loving the cover, its showing you what a powerful man Bowie is to deal with.

So Bowie first met Eva when they were both stationed out in Afghanistan and fell for her hard. He held back from starting something out there but now he is back State side his first thoughts are of her. She is all he can think about but he still needs to gear himself up to call her to ask out on a date and when he does he doesn’t get the response that he was hoping for.

Eva has her sights set of progressing within the FBI and doesn’t need any distractions; especially not a hot, muscled, lion shifter that she can’t seem to get out of her mind. From the moment she first met him she knew he would be a big distraction. She just knows that he wouldn’t be a one time thing or just be happy with friends with benefits, with the way he looked at her and made her feel she knows he would be wanting a lot more. So when she gets a call from him saying he is back State side and wants to meet up for a drink she does the only thing she can think of, say she already has a date. Little does she know that saying that will wake up his lion full force, to the point where he will do anything to show her who she really needs to be with.

I thought it was very funny that neither of them was aware that the other was their mate. They had all the signs but they just couldn’t see it. Even when they both got jealous enough to want to rip the arms off whoever was too close to what their beasts considered theirs. The back and forth between them is great and you will get some very funny, and then hot, scenes between them.

The underlining storyline is about Kane’s childhood when he lived in a cult. This is the starting off point for the series and it gets you thinking about what these characters can get themselves into. Going to be a fun journey they go on, lets see what they can get up to. Definitely want to check out other books by the author now.

Her jaguar close to the surface ... he smiled & said "your teeth are showing."
What a fantastic quick read and beginning of a new series!! You have four ex-Army Rangers who have served together overseas and come home for some terminal leave (R&R) before their time in the service comes to an end.
This first story in the series is about Eva & Bowie. Eva served with the same company in Afghanistan as Bowie and his friends. They were both physically drawn to the other even then, but each knew they couldn’t take it anywhere while serving in the middle of a war zone. But as far as Bowie is concerned, all bets are off now that she’s a civilian & he’s on his way to being one. But Eva is bound and determined not to end up like her mother … missing out on her life-long ambition of a career. And careers and climbing the promotion ladder don’t leave time for having a mate.
However, Bowie’s lion & Eva’s jaguar know what the score is – they are mates! The resulting pursuit is hot and steady! This is a grown-up read with all the sexiness and steamy situations anyone would enjoy.
As usual, Tabitha Conall gives us a great read, with plenty of back story and character development, for a most entertaining series. Her writing style and clean editing make an exceptionally enjoyable reading experience!
