In the south, things get real dirty. Especially on Saturdays. Mud on your jeans. Grit in your beer. Your tan washes off in the shower. That's how you know it's racing day. Or as the Dirt Track Dogs like to put it, winning day. Because they aren't racing unless they're winning. Haunted by loss from the past, Blister, the most mysterious of the Dirt Track Dogs, is now running from his future. He’s found his mate, the sweet-as-sugar owner of a local bar, Annie Redmond. But the idea of shaming her with his disfigurement is unacceptable to him. He’s content to watch her from afar until a storm rips through Cedar Valley, leaving her home in need of major repairs. He could never abandon his mate in her time of need, but keeping his wolf from claiming her will be the greatest challenge of his life. Perpetually alone and forever a virgin, Annie has watched her closest friends mate Dirt Track Dogs, and now it’s her turn. She’s pined after elusive Blister for months but he seems about as interested as a moth to a dark room. When she finds herself in a jam, he steps up to help, bringing in a crew of cats from the Ouachitas to rebuilt her broken home. For once, her patience pays off as their time together slowly reveals a pain she shares herself. Loss. But if he’ll give her a chance, they could have the one thing both of them crave more than anything: Love. **Can be read as a standalone (NO CLIFFHANGER)**
**Warning: this book contains dirty, dirty things. Including but not limited to dirty talk, dirty sex, dirty minds, dirty mouths, and dirty looks. Do not read this book if you are a germaphobe.

This is another good installment to the series but my least favorite. The story of Blister and Annie was very sweet. I could not identify with Annie though. She seemed sweet but holy hell she was a 34 year old ! Her history should not have shaped her. She was an adult (Almost 30) when her parents passed. I just did not get it all. But she was likable. Blister had a horrible experience and I was happy he started to move past it. But I would have liked to see him make more progress. He pushed her way for 75% of the book and then at the very end we see that he really had not conquered his demons (but he was trying). That made me sad. I prefer to end on a happier note!
Another wonderful addition to this series. Once again this author proves that you don't need oversexed manwhore heroes and OW showing up everywhere to drive the story or create angst. This author is creative and comes up with other ways to move the story forward and have a little drama. Blister and Annie are both so sweet. They each have things they need to overcome and the way their love story progresses is a pleasure to read. Once again my only complaint is that it was too short. Safety gang safe
I downloaded this book because the first two were uncomplicated shifter gets mated stories. Unfortunately, I got bored with the angst in this one and skipped through a lot of the hand wringing. I love emotional male characters and I'm interested in people working out their problems, but this book was mostly I can't claim her because I'm so damaged and I must claim her because she's mine. It got old really fast.
This was another great addition to the series. I loved blisters character from the beginning. my only complaint is that I felt myself wanting a bit more upon closure with this couple. It was still enjoyable throughout though
boring. Too much woe is me without the benefit of good story, interesting characters (Annie had the flavor of untoasted bread) or even good chemistry. And God did this feel long.... EH.....
Holy freakin heck! I LOVE LOVE LOVED this! My heart broke for Blister. So much pain he went through. They all did but he has the physical scars. Lives in solitude in his tent outside being away from everyone. Annie...sweet innocent Annie is his mate. He feels he doesn't deserve her and keeps his distance. Calls her his Angel which is really sweet. She thinks he doesnt like her at all and this hurts her to realize that. She's willing to move on since he doesn't seem to want her especially learning from her friends Punk and Ella that they mate for life. So, naturally she thinks she is not his mate since he cant seem to get away from her fast enough. Breaks her heart and shes humiliated. Funny thing is she already knew about them being werewolves. LOL. So, now the doggie is out of the bag he's ripped apart that she thinks shes not his mate and apologizes to him for interfering in his life. Ha...finally he comes to his senses and claims her. Scars dont bother her at all...she loves them actually and loves him with everything she is. She's such an awesome character. I think she's my favorite. :) Blister/Rogan is so stubborn and rough around the edges and shes so sweet and angelic to him. Which he finally realized the fates gave him an angel with everything he's gone through. Finally accepting it all and her and living HEA. *sighs* Can't wait for the next book. Maybe Surge is next?
Not as entertaining as the first two of the series. But only because Blister was seriously fucked in the head. Then he just does a 180 and decided to be cool with his relationship insecurities. It happened so fast. Meeeeeh. Not my favorite. Probably because I was eager to read his story so I had my expectations set way to high.
This book is sexy, emotional, caring, hot all in one. It held my attention all the way to the end and made me wish there was a next book in the series!!
Quick Info Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone Part of a Series?: Yes ---------------------------------- Meeting the Characters Blister Annie ---------------------------------- What happens? Annie is now used to being alone, her twin left her 5 years ago without a backwards glance so during a storm she hides in her shelter on her own feeling very lonely and then surprised when Blister the man she has been lusting from afar over shows up. Blister although not believing he is worthy of a mate can't leave Annie unprotected in the storm. He arranges for a group of cat shifters to help repair the damage to the house and gradually begins to get to know the mate he believes he cannot claim meanwhile letting Annie get close to him and begin to fall out of lust and into love with him. Final thoughts This was probably the most book that made me feel the most emotional, out of all 3 books in this series. Blister is hurting and he's scarred mentally and physically so he hides himself away and out of sight out of his crew. I thought him and Annie suited very well, the quiet lonely woman who is soft and kind and the hard but kind sad man who doesn't believe he's worthy. Its not like he is a hard cruel or even alpha he works for her so I liked this match the best. Would I read again?: Yes Would I read this author again?: Yes
Blister is my favorite in the series. He is so wounded yet so sweet and longing to love but afraid to take it. He brook my heart and mad me mad all in the same sentence with his stubbornness. I was so rooting for him to find his peace within. His insecurities weren’t completely gone but he was brave in his attempt to self love. Annie was perfect for him because she was so patient with Bluster and never gave up on him while trying to show him he was worthy. I wasn’t so pleased with her friend Ella and Punk who fell short in the friendship department. They found their mates and kind of forgot about Annie and took her for granted and I’m glad that she called them to the carpet on it. I’m looking forward to the two remain DTD’s stories. I think they are going to be wild rides. Until next time y’all happy reading.
Sworn off love, shifter romance. Blister's scars, the visible and the ones no one can see, leave him little joy outside of racing, certainly not Annie who deserves everything he can't give. This couple was disappointing as it seemed like Blister just gave in, rather than fought for his future with Annie, and she agreed. Fave Quote He could do this. Sing for his mate. She wanted him to and it wouldn’t hurt a thing. Singing was the purest form of expression. He could sing his feelings to her and she wouldn’t know it was anything more than the lyrics of a song.
I think I like Annie the most of the girlfriend trio. She's sweet, relatable and can take care of herself. Blister is insecure from his burn scars, but Annie never cared and loved him regardless. Amazing quick read.
Just loving this nice light little paranormal series. Good strong alphas and fiesty women who end up being perfect for each other but they have a great journey getting there. Well written and engaging.
I have to give it to P. Jameson, because there were moments in this book where I wanted to smack Blister around a little. Anne was so sweet, I think almost too sweet in places but it was overshadowed by the depth of emotion that surrounds this couple that just kept me reading.
Awesome storyline he has scares and fears being alone, but can't let the go d be because he will destroy her. She is alone and want fore er, but she has a plan. Awesome characters well written and an awesome creative way to tell a story.😀 Next!😂😁
Short and sweet. It flowed pretty well to the point that I didn’t even realize I was half way through it when I was. I find it funny that she knew. I love that he wanted to make himself better for her but I also love that she loved him flaws and all. So cute.
Annie had a crush on Blister, but didn't know how to get his attention. Blister knew Annie was his mate but didn't want to give in to it. What a pair. Great story.
Racing Home: (Paranormal Shifter Romance) (Dirt Track Dogs Book 3) by P. Jameson - Honestly, that was less traumatic than I was expecting, so I was thrilled! Happy Reading!
FABULOUS ENTERTAINMENT AND AN AWESOME READ !!! Racing Home is the third and the newest riveting release in the Dirt Track Dogs Series by P. Jameson and may I say - WOW! Absolute perfection! Although this is a series, I believe the books can be read as stand alone stories since each has its own very happily ever after ending but it most certainly will enrich your reading experience by reading the books in the order in which they were published. I started reading Jameson's work last year and she has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I now anxiously await each new release. And just what makes her writing so special you ask? Well, my answer is quite simple - her stories make my heart sing and my spirit soar! What more could you ask from a great book? Not a darn thing! And this book is no exception! Jameson has dazzled us yet again with an incredibly perceptive, emotional and heartwarming read. Reading a shifter series about dirt track racing is a first for me. Being from the deep south where we love our racing, I was immediately intrigued, and actually, I live only two miles from our local speedway so you know I'm already a fan! And Jameson does not disappoint! The first and second books in the series were sensational but this book completely stole my heart! I laughed at the antics and innocence of the characters and sobbed uncontrollably throughout the book but at the end, I was left with tears of joy on my face and love in my heart. If you have ever read any of my reviews, then you probably have already guessed that reading is a very emotional experience for me and I express my feelings through my heartfelt reviews. If an author can bring me to tears, cause me to sob, break my heart and then miraculously make me laugh, and heal my heart and soul with words, then that author has done their job exceptionally well and Jameson has delivered just that - again! Let me preface this review by saying, none of the books in the series are packed with actual racing. There is a good bit more in the first book than in the second and very little in the third but each story actually revolves more around the characters and features their lives, loves and conflicts. This story is exciting, thrilling, fast paced, original, imaginative, compelling, heartbreaking, heartwarming, humorous, sweet, romantic, arousing and sensual. Oh, did I mention hot? Well, it's definitely HOT!. The dialogue is smart, exceptionally well written and flows beautifully. But my favorite element of her stories are the characters. They are fascinating, captivating, unique, engaging, endearing and at times, laugh out loud funny. Jameson expertly combines these elements into an utterly irresistible paranormal read with just the perfect amount of heart-wrenching angst, heated attraction, passionate desire and heartwarming romance. Sigh.....So dreamy! Twenty five years ago, Blister lost everything and now the only thing he has left are the scars to remind him of his loss. He lives a lonely, tortured existence and can't escape his own personal demons. His only hope of redemption comes when he realizes that Punk and Ella's friend, Annie Redmond, owner of the Red Cap Bar & Grill, is his one true mate. He can only love her from afar because she could never love a monster like him. Or could she? I guess you'll have to read the book to find out! No spoilers from me but I will say this......Scarred, dedicated wolf shifter who loves to race but is afraid to open himself to the possibility of love and happiness-check! Beautiful, kind-hearted bar owner who lost her family and longs for a loving relationship with a man that has closed himself off to everyone-check! A cast of humorous characters-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, heart-wrenching angst and sweet dreamy romance-you bet! That and a whole lot more! I love it! Deliciously cute, seriously sexy and delightfully entertaining! My final verdict: FIVE HEARTWARMING STARS !!!
3) Wonderful, I like this new series !! The Dirt Track Dogs race cars. Drake is the Alpha of the small surviving wolf pack, Blister, Surge, and Beast, and Diz. They each have the acceptance, compassion, and the love they have each craved. His pack survived the fire that wiped out their people, and these guys have been celibate while trying to survive and make their way in the world. Their world changed with Drake finding Ella, and Beast has found his one and only in "Punk". Here we have Blister, scarred from the fire, he thinks he's not good enough for his mate. He doesn't know Annie wants him. He races to her place when the tornado hits town, and stays with her. Immediately he starts repairs on her house, and has his cat friends help, too. This tale is cute, romantic, passionate, interesting, loving. Annie finds she likes his being close, but he's holding back. Ella and Punk tell her about the werewolves, but she had already known - she's not afraid. She just needs to let him know she wants him, but being a seductress is not this virgin's style. Each finally talks about their pasts, and become closer. He needs his mate, and she needs him. First time sex for both of them is super sexy. Loved this story, the deep characters, the interesting tale, and the great sex, which together made this worthwhile. P. Jameson is a wonderful writer, keeps our interest and makes us smile. These are stand alone stories, but richer if you know the previous characters and their friendships. Highly recommend. ENJOY !!!
So, listen. This is the first book I read in this series and I loved it. I love the guys who are scarred or silent type . Basically, they are always my favorite characters, even if they are just side characters. I thought this was so cute! Cute, fun, light reads are my favorite and this one was just that. I liked that there wasn't an attack or anything, they just got to know each other by being around and it was written in a way that wasn't boring. Sometimes these kinds of books that have little to no action are sort of....blah, but not this one. So cute! So far it's my favorite, but it's also my first haha. I have a feeling it will stay my favorite overall. I already read the Ouachita series, so it was great to see their little cameo appearance in this one :)
Loved, loved. Loved Blister and Annie's story. All of the Dirt Track Dogs have had to overcome their demons...some more than others. Blister was not only scarred emotionally, but physically as well. He knows he will have to help his mate from a distance because he can't saddle her with what he is....a broken monster.
Annie has been planning on getting to know the man she has been attracted to for do long, but he will never give her the time of day. Until a Tornado warning hits.
This story was do touching... Too bad it was do short.
