Two John Green novels in one collection

The Fault in Our Stars
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

An Abundance of Katherines
When it comes to relationships, Colin Singleton’s type is girls named Katherine. And when it comes to girls named Katherine, Colin is always getting dumped. Nineteen times, to be exact. On a road trip miles from home, this anagram-happy, washed-up child prodigy has ten thousand dollars in his pocket, a bloodthirsty feral hog on his trail, and an overweight, Judge Judy-loving best friend riding shotgun–but no Katherines. Colin is on a mission to prove The Theorem of Underlying Katherine Predictability, which he hopes will predict the future of any relationship, avenge Dumpees everywhere, and finally win him the girl. Love, friendship, and a dead Austro-Hungarian archduke add up to surprising and heart-changing conclusions in this ingeniously layered comic novel about reinventing oneself by Printz medalist John Green, acclaimed author of Looking for Alaska.

An Abundance of Katherines was my first John Green book, and in all honestly I did not enjoy it at all. I sat questioning why there is so much hype surrounding his work. Were it not for the fact I already owned A Fault In Our Stars, I would have never returned to his work. A Fault In Our Stars was a much better read. Whilst I still believe he is over hyped, it was easier to understand why so many enjoy his work. It was an enjoyable read.

As it stands, I have yet to read more of his work. I cannot say whether all of his books are one extreme or the other, or whether An Abundance of Katherines was a blip in his usually okay work.

It was emotional, funny, witty and an amazing book. I fell in love with the characters and hurt with them, as well as smiled with them. This book brought so many emotions out of me.I cried at times and smiled at times, but I came out of reading this a different person. I can not wait to read more by John. Everyone needs to read this especially if you know someone or have lost someone to cancer. An Abundance of Katherines was a great read by John Green. John Greens writing has a way of pulling you into each book he has written. This book is so impeccable, a must read but not for the faint of heart. Will definitely rip at your heart strings.

I read this book so fast I didn't take the time to write a start or finish date.
I saw the movie first then read the book. I don't like to do that usually because the movie isn't as good as the book, ever, but in this case the book is the same as the movie. So save time and watch the movie.
As for the book, it was good., not great but very good. It made me look at cancer and cancer patients, especially young cancer patients much differently. How brave they are.
