Maou (aka the Devil King) and Emi (aka Emilia the Hero) have arrived from another world--and now they're in high school! Things are crazy enough already with classmate Chiho's ongoing crush on Maou, but are these kids going to be ready when a little girl shows up on Maou's doorstep and calls him Papa?
This alternate version is still fun, but it feels rushed and too short. The chapters ended so abruptly at times that I didn't know the chapter was like a page away from ending. Alas Ramus also is not really explained here, so it would be a tiny bit hard to follow if I hadn't read the novels. It's pretty good, but isn't quite the novels or manga. I recommend it, but if you can borrow it from the library or a friend, I'd do that instead of buying it. Save your money for the real books.
Ugh, I hate it when they put some kind of baby in a story. Not into the "mommy & daddy" fantasy at all. Didn't know this was a spin-off when I first grabbed it. It's okay, very light reading. If you like the original manga you'll enjoy this one.
This is a dud! The only reason I gave it a second star was for creativity. But I only know the characters via the regular manga and the jokes don't work here.
Who is this little girl? I don't remember her from the anime or mange versions. Maybe she only appears in the novel or appears later than the anime covers...?
It's still a screwball comedy, but the jokes are starting to feel repetitive. It really is just the original in high school, which is already a well-trodden path in manga as it is. There isn't much that stands out in this High School rendition that hasn't already been done in the original this spins off from or from other high school manga. The addition of the little girl on the cover felt like a haphazard way to try and make this stand out, but it just didn't work for me.
