In volume 1, nothing much happened when it comes to mature scenes hahaha. But here... YEHEY! both of them are complete opposites

A volume of the romantic leads being so busy that they either can't meet at all or immediately fall asleep when they do get together.

Weeks into their relationship and they are barely flirting, much less having sex.

I didn't sign up to spend half of the book watching a TV announcer prepping and hosting a music festival his girlfriend watches on TV.

Pretty dull now, but I have another volume on hand from the library to decide whether to bail or forge onward.

Again. Meh...a tad boring. Nothing much really happens. I'm glad to report our womanizer actually steps up in this and I can see myself liking him now. Kind of.

Also the romance...gosh, the romance. I was really looking forward to it but like it just sorta srang up on us. And not in a good way. Vol. 1 they hated eachother and had different views on marriage. K. Cool. Now all the sudden they're dating even though either have not changed their views. And they are both adament people...

Ima continue on and hope for the best with this series.

I enjoyed this volume very much. Both of our main characters have flaws, and the mangaka doesnt shy away from that. This series so far is a realistic depiction of a romantic relationship in my eyes. Of course things like work can get in the way of spending time together. I'm excited to continue on in this series.

I'm still on the fence about this series. Its a really slow burn.

The two main characters are complete opposites and have completely different opinions on marriage.

Would you be able to be in a relationship with someone that doesn't see ever marrying you when you want to get married?

It was just so cute and wholesome! Nanami and Asuka’s relationship is so progressive, they just click together despite their differences. I love them as individual characters and as a couple. If I don’t have classes tomorrow, I’ll pull an all-nighter just to finish this!

Slow burn went off the rails. Now it's a will they/won't they get married. The expected cliffhanger ending.. It still thankfully has a more mature vibe than the shoujo romances and the characters are not as frustrating as they tend to be in shoujo romance!
I was thinking this reminds me of a J-drama. turns out I did watch the jdrama adaptation of this a while ago! I only vaguely recall bits of it though so I'll keep reading!

This was a nice continuation of the series. I can't wait to read more of the series. I love how we got to see them juggle their relationship with their busy work life. I can't wait to see where their relationship is heading towards. Hopefully my library will get more volumes soon.

I'll probably drop this series. I tried with the first one and than gave it another try with the second volume, but it's just too sexist and I'm pretty open to the FL being submissive. I just don't know how a manga series can be centered around the Girlfriend pressuring her boyfriend into marriage. It just doesn't make sense to me.

What's your self worth girl? You working around his busy schedule, you cooking his meals and him pressuring you into sex. I don't get the appeal. Is this manga suppose to brainwash young adult females into thinking this is what is appropriate ? Maybe I am trying to read too much into this manga.

I also don't like the fact that the main couple and the secondary couple look so similar. I kind of wished the graphic artist drew obvious characteristic differences so I can tell the characters apart. Or maybe again, that is me.

Overall, this was not my jam, but if you like the super submissive FL type, then this is for you.

Un tome qui joue au chat et à la souris entre les personnages. Leur relation semble bien compliquée par l'emprise du boulot. Le sujet tabou du mariage reste bien mystérieux. Ça se lit.

THIS SERIES IS STARTING TO KILL ME!

This manga starts up around the same time Volume 1 ended. Asuka and Ryu have just begun their relationship, but they both want different outcomes. Asuka wants to get married, and Ryu doesn't. This manga explores them both wanting different things, whilst being respectful of the other wants.

What I loved about this manga was the feels I had. My heart actually felt pain because of how sweet the romance and the characters are. The romance does feel a bit rushed because they did say that they love each other like straight away, but I think the speed of the romance slows down a bit by the middle of the book. But they do feel like an established couple already...

I would definitely recommend this manga if you are looking for a sweet, fluffy, saucy romance manga!

I'm in Volume 4 (so this review is copy/pasted from my vol 1 review). I love it. This is what Happy Marriage?! could have been. Isumi Miyazono clearly states the characters' intentions and desires, and the characters actually talk to each like adults should. Asuka wants to be a homemaker despite forging a successful career than she clearly enjoys and takes personal pride in. She is a go-getter and speaks up for herself. Ryu is almost too-driven, but he wants to prove that he's more than a pretty face. He can do the work, and do it well. It's a clever twist of the usual gender tropes. This series also gets right down to it. So far, there's no wasted time or unnecessary panels, and the mangaka lets the panels speak, too. She trusts the reader to interpret the emotion. I wish I could rate this higher.

it was ok. took me a couple days to get thru bc the story just wasn’t that interesting to me.

i thought there’d be a slower romance but they’re already dating and having sex in this book soooo is the rest of the series just gonna be the drama of her wanting to get married and him not? sounds kinda boring…

also i’m having a hard time keeping the coworkers straight. all the men look too similar in this manga.

some new girl introduced on the last page so maybe i’ll pick up the next one and see what that’s all about but i’m thinking this series may be a dnf. (especially considering the cover for the last volume kinda spoils the series ending)

I enjoyed this volume, but I am a little tired of all the mention of marriage. I realize that is a core part of the manga, but I feel like it was mentioned a bit too much. They like each other a lot and are trying to be together even though their views on marriage are different. I do appreciate that they were able to work through some of their communication problems, and I am hoping they work more on the communication in the future. They are cute together, and I am looking forward to them developing their relationship more. I'm also interested in why Nanami is so against marriage.

I really liked this volume. This really focused on both the main characters' careers and work life. And work life comes with complicated schedules and personal growth, that is difficult to coincide with a new relationship.

This was amazing to me because this was so realistic and some thing that a lot of people actually go through in life. It's also about trying to support your partner's aspirations and just trying to make things work in the relationship.

The volume really brought on the drama without it being dramatic. I loved theat they're just going through the motions of work and trying to find time with each other.

Stand in review for volumes 2 through 6.

I love that these are actual mature adult characters who make decisions together and have responsible conversations, take responsibility for actions,and treat each other with respect. While it is rather contrived, as most romances are, this does a pretty good job of portraying struggles and plausible issues without compromising the gooey romance bits. I felt the art took a little bit of a back seat and there's a lot of blurred/invisible bits in the romantic parts.

Neste volume Asuka decide aventurar-se numa relação com Ryu, mesmo ele sendo contra o casamento e esse ser o seu maior sonho.
Os sentimentos entre ambos parecem estar a evoluir a todo o vapor, mas o tempo que estão juntos é escasso devido ao trabalho.
Estou a gostar bastante da leitura, pois mesmo que eles ainda tenham que crescer enquanto casal, noto que o que sentem um pelo outro é mutuo.
E mesmo que eles sejam compreensivos quanto ao espaço que o trabalho ocupa na vida de cada um, não se conformam, pois sentem a necessidade de estarem juntos.

Second book for the #GetGraphic read-a-thon!

I love 20-30-somethings manga. The aspects of work, careers, and relationships is always so fascinating and open to a ton of dramatic conflicts. Asuka wants to get married and Ryu ain't having any of that. I love that they have this argumentative romance, makes for an entertaining read.

And the artwork too. Simple shojo lines, fashionable outfits, and the romance!

We see a little bit of progress in this volume. I like how realistic the story is as I know a couple with this situation in real life. However, I don't get the point of it. Nanaryu is only getting in the relationship for "all the good things" that come with it while Asuka definitely hoping that he will change his mind. It's like they're together heading in different directions. Oh, the headache! I hope to see more discussion about their individual perspective.

I continue to love the premise of this series and the refreshing realism of the conflict (wanting different things out of a relationship and difficulty finding time for each other because of work schedules are unusually grounded conflicts for a shoujo/josei manga and I love that), but I'm starting to get a bit fed-up with Nanaryu. Dude. Do better. I suppose that's just life but I wanted to smack him a couple of times. (But would he be a realistic character if I didn't?)

Me encantan los dibujos, por que son simples y sin muchos detalles, por supuesto que esta acompañado con dialogos bien hechos. En este tomo la historia de los protagonistas es lo que necesitaba para relajarme, me resulta divertida ese tira y afloje de me gustas/no me gustas y el lio que es reconocer que si.
disfrute de no tener que renegar por las actitudes a veces infantil que tienen los personajes en el punto que implica conocerse.

This was not fun. The art style makes me so confused as to which one is the main male lead. They're all drawn the same and there's no consistency.

The story wasn't interesting as well, I wasn't enjoying it all that much.

I have volume 3 so I'll read it and have it be the final deciding factor on whether or not I'll continue reading this.

I love this series. I mean it is unrealistic and unbelievable. I mean we know how the series is going to end but there is no way that it would end well in real life.
Asuka wants to get married and she is dating and in love with Ryu who does not want to get married he is also in love with her. We can all see how it is going to go. But I still love it.

2020 Read #102

I am still a bit apathetic to this series, but I’m warming up to it little by little. Given that I don’t view marriage as a “must,” the main struggle/conflict between the main couple in the story just doesn’t have enough weight for me. But it is a nice, easy read nonetheless.
