Gina travels to Rahatha, the first Human-Reestrian settlement on Earth, hoping to land a new job and get a fresh start. The problem? The ad for an office job she answers specifically advertises for a hardworking male, and it takes a lot of convincing to get the huge, dangerously sexy, Mr. Jax, to hire her, on account of her having breasts. The other problem? Jax is the only unmated Reestrian in Rahatha, and he begins experiencing his mating urge during her first day on the job.
Jax starts up his hovercraft business in Rahatha, knowing his mating urge will strike him at any hour, and knowing he’ll probably have to venture outside of the enclosed city to find a willing mate. But then in walks Gina, with her delicious curves and soulful, dark brown eyes. She ignites his passion and makes his blood burn hotter than the sun of his home planet. Even before the urge to mate comes upon him, he decides he wants her and no other woman. He sets out to court her human-style, but somehow can’t get that right. She keeps turning him down, even though she’s always squirming and flushing in his presence. If only human females weren’t so complicated…
Sue Mercury writes sci-fi romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband and children, where she hopes one day she'll turn on the television to find a breaking news report about sentient alien beings contacting Earth. She also writes romance of the much kinkier variety under the name Sue Lyndon.

Two days before relocating to Earth, Jax's intended mate left him to face life on an alien planet without her. With his mating urge fast approaching, he needs to find a human female to mate with or risk losing his mind. Luckily, Alice, a human female decides to set him up with her best friend, Gina, who's in need of a job. While Gina is an excellent secretary, poor Jax is more interested in her boobs and her luscious butt.
Okay, this had its moments, but it was too short and too insta. Save yourself the trouble. The following conversation was the funniest part of the story:
“You will go to lunch with me, Gina, and then I will buy you flowers on the way back to work.”“Excuse me?”“Then tonight I will take you to dinner and a movie. There’s a theater on the other side of the city, and I’ll make sure we get the best seats. I will hold your hand during the movie.”When she gaped at him in silence, he backed away a few steps, not trusting himself to keep his hands off her. He didn’t want to scare her by moving too fast, something Alice had warned him about. “I will walk you home after the movie and then kiss you thoroughly.”
Very generic, the kind of story you feel you've read before.
This is a quick little story about an Alien community where everyone is mated except for Jax. As soon as he sets eyes on Gina he wants her but not as an employee. Attempting to woo her in the human style of courtship he doesn’t realize the finer details of said courtship. Gina finds his attempts sweet and adorable and can’t deny she’s attracted to him.
This was cute but not a lot of story to it due to its length. Low angst and not all just sex. I enjoyed it!
This is a really short book, one that can be read while waiting at the doctor's office, or if you are just tired of reading supper long stories and want something quick and entertaining. The author does her best I believe in establishing the characters. Jax is the only single alien in the settlement and is soon to come to his time to find a mate of life or go permanently insane. The woman that he was supposed to mate with broke her contract with him after he left for Earth and took another mate behind his back. Thus the reason he is grumpy everyone around him is happily in love.
Gina is coming with and at her BFF's urging to take on the job as Jax's assistant though he had put in an add for a male. Gina had been having a hard time getting another a job after she had quit her last one because her boss would not keep his hands off of her. She told him what she thought of him and then he black balled her making it almost impossible to find another job. Add insult to injury her last boyfriend she had caught cheating on her.
She doesn't know what to think of Jax and his approaches to her. She doesn't know if he is sincere or just trying to get into her pants. For Jax though Gina's presents has started a chain reaction for him. But before they can make a decision there is an attack on the settlement from a violent new alien species. Will Jax get to her in time to rescue her? Will she or will she not bond with Jax and have the HEA. I guess you will just have to read it to find out.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and I like that it was a short love story. Sometimes you just need something like that and Sue Mercury did it for me in this book.
Boss alien by Sue Mercury. Gina travels to Rahatha, the first Human-Reestrian settlement on Earth, hoping to land a new job and get a fresh start. The problem? Love how Jax and Gina were with each other. Great little read. 5*.
Jax is the only male Reestrian in Rothatha and sweet single Gina is his new employee. On her first day at her new job working for Jax, his mating urge comes to life. Having just met the day before, Gina is being very careful of her attraction to her boss. Jax decides he must get Gina to agree to a date, as his friend has explained human courting to him. Jax is trying his best to go slow but his urge is pressuring him to make a move. Gina is very attractedbto her boss but having been cheated on by her last boyfriend, she is worried about jumping into another relationship so fast. Jax must mate soon or he will fall victim to the madness the males of his race experience if unmated when the urge comes upon them. Can Jax convince Gina that she is his destined mate? Can Gina accept her strong urge to mate with Jax so soon after meeting and knowing him? This quick little story about a human and alien is a good one that I enjoyed, I hope you read it and feel the same way.
this one was pretty good. It was much sweeter than I expected it to be and that was a pleasant surprise. I do wish we had gotten to know the characters and maybe had a bit more background on the relationship between the humans and the Reestrians and what the similarities and differences are between them. I usually really enjoy that when I read an alien/romance book.. but all we got about Jax was that he was super hot and muscled. still it was very funny and sweet and I would recommend it for a quick read.
She says no, but desires him. He desired her from the first meeting. Then they finally mate. Lots of sex with romantic word.s. In there somewhere was a little action with other aliens starting to attack, but they got destroyed very quickly. This is my first read of this author and series. I'll most likely give another book a chance, but all in all I found this book rather boring.
Alpha Alien Romance💘 Novella This is a sweet short story about Jax🐺🍆🌋, the last single Reestrian man on 🌎earth to find a mate. He is coerced into hiring a woman for a job position he wanted a man for. Immediately sparks🔥 start flying between him and Gina💋💃, the young single woman he hires. It's a cute but very short book! YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎
I think I read the first one in this series. However it stands alone. Hot and fast, Jax gets hit by the mating fever, as expected. Fortunately she shows up in his life at exactly the right time. Throw in some different alien bad guys, and we get the grand gesture that leads to the HEA.
This was a decent sci-fi romance for such a short story. It was a bit light on the world-building, not to mention the relationship-building between the two main players. But they were both agreeable characters, so it was nice to see them work out their issues before it was too late. I enjoyed this story enough that I will probably try another full-length story from this series at some point.
Like an half hour tear of a good show lol. It was a good book, instant love some danger a lot of awkward moments and the sex at the end. THAT was the real tease lol, get hot at the end how rude. If you like instant love and short stories pick up the book.
Not a bad story. I liked it but wished it was a bit longer. As this is the 1st one in this series I've read, I'll have to go back and get the others to read. I think I really should encourage others to read this series. It's very enjoyable.
While I enjoyed the story, I do wished it had been a bit longer and more fleshed out. The heroine went quickly from not wanting him to joining with him. I have no idea why she fought it for the little bit she did.
This isn't one of this author's best books, but it isn't bad. It's a quick, light romance without a lot of serious plot, but that's what it's supposed to be.
I did like this but it did feel a bit rushed. Too short to be realistic like the other books of the series. I really liked Jax and wanted to know more about him. We really knew nothing except he had a hovercraft business, he was thrown over by a potential mate, and sort of a jerk sometimes. Otherwise we know nothing else. What hes really like or anything. In the other books there was more development. We even know more about Gina than we do him. He did a total 180 from when he first met her. I just couldnt buy it. It all happened way too fast to make sense. Sorry. This is the shortest in the series and it was a little disappointing because if Jax was developed better and this was as long as the other books it would have done so well like 5 stars for me anyways. Hope the next book is better.
I love these little stories, and as always I leave it liking the characters but wishing there was more story... The idea and concept and characters here in all these stories would make such a great series if only there was more to it... I always feel like Great Story !!! But soo very very badly needs more!!! Would be soo awesome if there was , like the Katieran Prime Series by K D Jones... Btw did you really write Owning His Bride ? I found be both the title and the synopsis upsetting :( It s hard to believe someone could write such male aliens would write that... They to each there own but that book gave me the creeps :( Really really enjoyed this book though ;)
Jax's story is my favorite, out of this series, so far. I loved his quick and efficient attempts at courting. I also liked Gina's quirky sense of humor. This is an excellent short story.
