Bear Bluff Clan #1
Bound To Her Bear
Sometimes you have to just trust in fate.
Eirik and Drew have both seen the heartache caused when your bonded mate dies. Haunted by these experiences in their own ways, both have shied away from finding their true mate.
Eirik carries the shame of his father's actions, while Drew has to live with her heartbroken dad. Seeing his downward spiral into despair at the loss of his mate, she knows she could never put herself through the same pain. Better to be alone than to be left bereft of the love of your life.
However, when they meet by chance and discover a mutual attraction, they decide that maybe a little uncomplicated fun might not be so bad.
But every bear has a mate. What will happen to their relationship when fate steps in and true mates are finally revealed?
Bound To Her Bear is set in Bear Bluff, and can be read as a standalone story, however some of the characters are from the Bear Creek Clan Series.
For adults only, contains adult themes. If hot sexy shifter scenes bother you, this book may not be for you.

Very short shifter romance. A good read if you are looking for anything of substance. It would be great if it was longer.
Afraid to love because they have seen the devestation that comes from losing a mate.

A TRUE MATE SURPRISE !!!
Title: Bound To Her Bear
Series: Bear Bluff Clan
Author: Harmony Raines
My Rating: FIVE DELICIOUSLY SWEET STARS *****
Wow! Another sweet treat from Harmony Raines! Bound To Her Bear is the first novella in her delicious new Bear Bluff Clan Series and she has delivered another winner! The story is deliciously cute, delectably sweet, completely captivating and seriously sexy. The dialogue is well written and flows well. The characters are captivating, engaging and lovable. Eirik McCormac is the newest and youngest member of the Bear Bluff Clan Council. He has been appointed to the position of Holder of the Deeds, or more commonly known as treasurer by his Uncle Stuart McCormac, alpha of the clan. His father previously held the office but had recently died leaving the clan in quite a dangerous predicament. His father, Wayne McCormac, had signed over the deed to their sacred lands at Garrow's Creek to Carson Frasier of the Bear Creek Clan causing quite the scandal. Carson had claimed he was Wayne's eldest son by a female bear from Bear Creek and by law the deeds should be passed to him. Fortunately, Carson's claim had been disproved through DNA evidence and the sacred lands returned to Bear Bluff. Although the matter has since been resolved and Carson actually had no legal claim to the land, his father's memory had still been tarnished and his judgement on all clan matters had been called into question. His poor mother had been disheartened and shaken by his father's actions. He now lived with the shame of his father's actions along with the ache in his heart to find his true mate yet he wondered if any woman could ever accept him with the shame he bore. Drew Stanton had lived in Bear Bluff her entire life and had all but lost hope of ever finding her true mate. After her mother's death, her dad seemed to give up on life completely. He began drinking heavily which eventually led to him losing his job. Almost overnight, she became the sole bread winner and primary care giver for her dad. Maybe it was for the best that she had never found her true mate. What man would ever want her? She had always been attracted to Eirik McCormac and in school they had even been friends but now he didn't even speak to her. He probably thought she wasn't good enough for him. They weren't true mates so why would he want to be friends with her. He no longer knew she existed. Or did he? Hmm.....Maybe the mistress of fate just hasn't had enough time to work her magic. Oh my! No spoilers here but I will say this.....Handsome sexy bear shifter-check! Beautiful virgin female bear shifter-check! Heartache, angst, heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance, a true mate surprise and some steamy dreamy sex-you bet! I can hardly wait to read about handsome Dr Hansom in Book Two of the series. This is a stand alone novella with NO cliffhangers and a wonderful happily ever after ending. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Short, sweet Insta-romance.
Easy read, flowed well. Did feel rushed but understandable with such a short story
# Fated mates, but don’t recognise it right away as both carry baggage from their parents relationships
# Slightly sexist as woman are expected to save themselves for their mate, but men aren’t
# A few slight inconsistencies/issues with grammar
# No other woman/man drama

I don't really know what everyone was going on about with this book.
The writing style really annoyed me, the characters are poorly developed and the story is so predictable I want to pull my hair out.

**********Contains Spoilers**********
I enjoyed this story but would’ve wished it was a bit longer as it ended very abruptly. I liked the connection between Eirik and Drew and thought they were great together. This goes to show that Fate definitely has a hand in when mates can actually recognise each other as Drew and Eirik have known each other for years and never knew that they were mates but I think it was more than that as they both had a lot of sh*t that they need to sort through first, like with Eirik realising that his dad’s mistakes don’t fall on him and that he’s actually earned the role of the holder of the Deeds for Clan and on the Council but he needs to believe in himself that he’s the right man for the job which Drew helped him see and after Drew has had to deal with the loss of her mum, help look after the house, care for her dad’s downfall which included a lot of alcohol and working on top of everything after his true mate d*ed, she saw the aftermath first hand of what it’s like having and losing your mate early does to a shifter so she never wanted to feel that loss and pain and believes that it would be best to never meet him. I really think Fate did the right thing by making them wait to recognise each as they got to know each other again after all these years and formed a friendship/relationship without having to deal with their bond first. I thought it was cool that Eirik’s mum and Drew’s dad formed a friendship as they could both use someone who understands what they’re going through after the losing their mate. Yes, Drew’s dad’s loss will be felt more since he’s a shifter and she’s human but then Eirik’s mum has to deal with the aftermath of her husband handing over the Deed to Garrow’s Creek to Carson which brings some shame which Eirik also feels greatly. I’m really looking forward to reading Ben’s story next. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

Drew & Eirik
This was a lovely and tender story about two lonely people that had to trust in fate and each other. Drew is a bear shifter living in the aftermath of her mother's death and her father despair. And that made her decide that she didn't want to met her fated mate and go through the same heartbreak her father is going through. Eirik is a bear shifter living in the aftermath of his father's secret coming to light. This two were school friends but haven't talk for years. And in one afternoon when they rekindle their friendship, their lives will change forever. Highly recommended

If erotica is your thing, read those parts, otherwise you can just elide them as the stories are that good and written with unusual sensitivity. This one is a case in point. Drew's father drowns his grief for her mother in liquor. Eirik's mother feels half alive and hovers over her grown son for the same reason. Both Drew and Eirik feel like second rate people for other reasons and have known each other since childhood. Sounds hokey, but it really works as a well drawn story.

Drew and Eirik
This is a short, well written, Shifter romance. Drew has seen the suffering her father is going through after his mate, her mother dies. Eirik doubts his ability to replace his father after his death. He was the treasurer for the Bear clan of Bear Bluff and had been conned. Now Eirik fears he may be weak also. Read how the friendship of Eirik and Drew becomes so much more.

A sweet love story of rules and regr
Drew and Erick are bears who come from different classes of the clan. He is on the council and she believes she is on the bottom of the class ladder. They agree to spend time together as friends and realize they are mates. It is a sweet story of love and overcoming.

Absolutely Fabulous
This is a reread for me. I’m so excited to revisit Bear Bluff and Bear Creek again. This series is part of the earlier publications by this author. If you’ve only read her most recent books I highly recommend that you go back and start reading by earliest publication dates and read forward. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Eirik and Drew, both have lost a parent, and have the widowed parent to deal with, and have decided not to fall in love and suffer like their parent is. Then they meet each other and realize that they are fated mates, now they must choose : to love or deny fate and love.

Honestly, I found this one extremely boring and almost skipped it but decided to keep going since it was so short. I hope the next one is better in the box set.

Good
The story was short but sweet. There wasn’t much mystery or suspense in this one but even though the outcome was a given it was good.

Surprise
Knowing that you do not want something but fate has other ideas is real.
Reminded me of part of my own life.
Going with the way the wind blows is a good thing sometimes.

A nice sweet little read good start to a new series

This was such a sweet story. Eirik and Drew both some similarities in their life. Both living totally different lives. Drew was on the clan council where Eirik was so far different and worked as a nurse. Drew lost a father and felt shamed due to his father’s actions where Eirik lost a loving mother and had a father who turned to drinking to cope on losing his true mate.
Eirik was this beautiful plus size woman. She felt so unworthy of someone like Drew. She had her hands full with her drunk grieving father. She felt that Drew was ignoring her but still found herself attracted to him. She felt she did not want to find her true mate. Will she be able to accept what fate might throw at her?
Drew felt like a child sitting on the clan council. He was handsome and strong, what ever woman could want in a mate. Drew felt that Eirik ignored him and yet he still felt very attracted to her. He had a lot on his plate and did not know if he really wanted to find a true mate. Will Drew be able to face what is soon to come?

Kindle Unlimited read. She is shy and believes she doesn't want a mate because her father is struggling so much because he lost her mother. He is trying to overcome the shame his father brought to his family as well as adjusting to the new role he has in the clan. They find each other through their loneliness. They aren't mates but the attraction is there. When they take things to the next level, something changes. What will they do about it?

A very nice enjoyable sweet story about two bears who have known each other all their lives.
Drew does not want a mate as she has seen her father decline since her mum died.
Eirek does not believe he deserves or wants a mate as his father was dishonourable in his clan actions.
They bump into each other when running in the forest and start spending time together. They do not believe they are fated mates as they do not feel a pull, only a slight interest, until they have sex, then they know they are fated mates.

I liked it. I'll go with 3 stars.
*I seen some say it was sexist. but I don't see how it was? He (The MC)said she should wait for her mate(He felt guilty taken something so special if they were not Fated mates) but other women didn't wait. And she didn't wait either. Also they never talked about him with another women. So I'm confused as to how it was sexist.

A touching story about two characters who are both terrified of love-Eirik, ashamed of his father’s legacy, and Drew, afraid of the devastation losing a mate might bring. Their chemistry is easy, natural, and poignant, especially once fate (inevitably!) intervenes. Sweet, thoughtful, and gently redemptive.

I enjoyed this book as much as the rest of Harmony Raines' books. To think that you don't need love but find that fate has already chosen the love of your life. Great Book! Thanks you

I loved this story about the romance blossoming between Drew and Eirik. Drew has reasons for not wanting a mate and Eirik has his own troubles struggling with his past demons and then with Drew being so conflicted, but the story is a very enjoyable one.
