I haven't read any of this authors books before this one. Crikey what a book to start with. When I read the synopsis I had a feeling I'd like it. It was so much more than I expected. Brilliant read.
This is book three in the Wesson Rebel MC Series. Can be read as a standalone which is what I did.
Vita has been hiding away from everyone after traumatically losing her voice. The only person she communicated with is her brother Houdini. When he goes missing the past starts catching up on Vita. The only place she can go for help is the Wesson Rebel MC. The only person there that knows sign language is Prophet. Both have a past. Both have secrets. Can Prophet help Vita and keep her safe??
I really enjoyed this storyline. From start to finish I was gripped by the authors words. Loved the main characters. Not much story about the club itself but I seriously loved this book.

ARC received for review
The first book I started today couldn't get through the first chapter. The second book, I couldn't get past the third page. This one I at least finished. It was interesting. A mute Mafia princess in hiding goes to her brother's MC for help when he gets kidnapped. The only brother, Prophet, who knows sign language is assigned to help/protect her has female drama from his past. It was just okay. I'm sorry but some parts just weren't believable for me even if it was fiction. Third book in the series but I'm not really interested in going back to read about the other MC members we see in this book.

This is the first Shyla Colt book I've had the pleasure of reading. This book is part of a series and I know now that it'd be best to read the other books as well in order to know the characters better. But, even with my little knowledge of the characters, I fully understood and I was able to appreciate this story! And what a story.
Vita is a young woman with a serious problem; she cannot speak. When her brother Ira, also known as Houdini, goes missing, she decides to go back to the life she has always avoided. She goes to the Wesson Rebels MC, seeking help. Her brother is a Nomad but the club agrees to help her.
Vita is only able to communicate with one man at the club though; Prophet, also knows as Charles. He speaks the sign language and he is the only one who can understand Vita.
Their relationship is a rocky one and they certainly have no interest in being friends. But Houdini's disappearance brings them close and forces them to work together.
I loved Vita. She was strong and brave and despite her inability to talk, she communicated just fine.
Her brother's absence makes her stand on her own two feet and she is finally able to step out of her shell.
Prophet is a man tormented by his old mistakes and he avoids commitment at all costs. But when Vita steps into his life, everything changes.
Their chemistry once kindled is explosive. Prophet makes Vita feel special and wanted. He makes her stronger.
His pleased tone is like rich chocolate. Silky, sweet and decadent.
Prophet finds his inner peace with Vita. She made him feel again. She healed his wounds. He appreciates how brave Vita is...In her own way.
“The quiet girl who looked like a ghost the last time I saw her? The one who can’t speak?”
“Trust me dude, she don’t need her voice to get her point across.” I smile, proud of how far she’d come.
I totally recommend this book to any lovers of the MC books. It flowed smoothly and the writing was refreshing and eloquent. The author took a heroine with a disability and instead of making her pitiful and weak, turned her into a strong woman who knows what she wants and holds her own in a world of powerful and gruff men! I loved it.

I loved this book! The characters were well rounded. I loved seeing the two worlds of bikers and mobsters collide. This was a fun, action packed, sexy story. I couldn't put it down.

Vita was one strong character. She had been through a lot and came out stronger. Prophet was a hot, strong man, the perfect example of a hot biker! If you like either of those types... mobsters or bikers, you're going to want to read this book. It may be book 3 in a series, but is certainly stand alone. Great read!

Prophet is protective of his girl, "I know you’re ranked higher than me, but you keep talking about my girl like that and I might take offense." It's good to know that he actually wants to spend time with his woman, "I’m not a ravenous beast that’s hell bent on pouncing on you. If all I wanted was sex, I wouldn’t have invested anything into this." I enjoy this series and it's characters. The men may come across as macho but when.they find the right woman and have their families they're teddy bears.

I absolutely loved the idea of this novel. I mean come on, MC meets mafia? YES PLEASE! I love mafia books. They are my jam. My fav. They can be dark and twisty and dramatic and luscious. This one though felt like it tried a little too hard and didn’t quite get there.
The thought of an undercover mafia princess, hidden away in the country side then coming out during crisis to take power? That sounds intense, and like an absolute kickass story. But then Vita was too much of a contradiction for me. In “on the run” mode, she was demure, meek, had to be told what to do. In “mafia” mode, frankly she was too much of a bitch. And I’m sorry but the excuse of “that’s the only way to get through to these people” seemed a bit like a cop out.
Like I said, overall I liked the idea of this book, I think it just needed to be longer to give it more of a chance, add in detail that would really beef it up to seem more complete. As it stands currently I found it too unbelievable in terms of storyline and character roles. Plus with all the anticipated build up, I found the climax quite lack lustre. As soon as I started getting excited about it, it was over. And the falling action was way too abrupt to provide much satisfaction. But anyways.
The romance aspect was fine for me, didn’t sway me too much one way or the other. I will say I wanted a bit more excitement from these two in terms of finally getting together; some push and pull perhaps. It felt a little one sided at times.
I did find this one easy to follow and read, I liked the style the author has and this had strong potential. I think where my rating comes into play though is more so that while sure I had some issues, it felt fairly “meh” throughout. I don’t think it will be memorable for me.

This isn't my first Shyla Colt MC romance. I won't say that the first book i read from her is one of my favorites. However, it was an okay story that may have needed a little more polish and excitement. Fortunately, Resurrection is a major improvement in terms of writing style and plot.
This is the third book in the Wesson Rebel MC series. It can be read as a standalone, but there are light references to secondary characters which have been introduced in the previous books. Therefore, while it is unnecessary, it is still best enjoyed if Resurrection is read after the first two books. Anyway, I myself haven't read the preceding books in the series, so, what do I know?
Back to my review, I won't say that I fell in love with the book. I think it's the fact that I've read dozens and dozens of MC romance novels this year. Some of them were dark, amazing, scandalous. Some of them were trying too hard. Some of them were too safe and focused too much on the romance part. I have to say that Resurrection has a good story all in all. I just couldn't get into it with the MC side of the story.
When I review MC books, I always try to imagine the plot in another setting and if the story can be adapted into a simple contemporary romance, then, I think that the MC wasn't really necessary. However, if I can't think of a book being set in anywhere but the MC world, then that, for me, is a true MC romance novel that I enjoy. Resurrection is kind of in the first group. Also, it's a good read, but I don't see anything that set it apart from other MC books.

I love a good motorcycle romance novel. They are usually full of suspense and a bad a**, alpha male. Unfortunately, many motorcycle romances use the same formula: girl and boy meet, boy wants girl but girl resists as boy is in a motorcycle club/gang until girl’s life is in danger and boy sweeps in to save the day. Been there, done that.
Resurrection wasn’t a cookie cutter motorcycle romance. Instead of the male protagonist saving the girl, the girl saved herself and what a joy it was to watch. I loved Vita and how she put on her big girl panties once her brother’s life was in danger. I really didn’t like Prophet at the start. He immediately doesn’t like Vita because she reminds him of someone from his past. Instead of paying attention to Vita, he’s a jerk. Just as Vita grows and finds out who she is during the novel so too does Prophet overcome his past as the story progresses.
This story pulls you in from the first moment. I haven’t read the earlier novels in this series, but that wasn’t an issue at all in understanding or reading enjoyment. I especially liked the dual points of view in which the book is written. I think this technique is over-used, but it worked well here. The story has lots of twists and turns. The backgrounds of the characters are nearly as fascinating as the ongoing story.
I will definitely be reading more of Colt’s writing in the future and recommend this to anyone that enjoys a good angst-filled romance.

Not great. I'm glad that this book wasn't my introduction to the writer because it would have stopped here. This series isn't as good as Kings. Still, if you're looking for a relatively quick read with some drama this will do.

**JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW**
I have had the pleasure of reading the Wesson Rebel MC series and have anxiously been waiting to get my hands on this book. After we were introduced to the main characters in the first 2 book there was something about this pair that just caught my interest. This book is by far the best one in this series. Shyla Colt hit the ball right out of the park with this one. What did it for me was not only did the author write an MC book but she included the mafia too (SAY WHAT NOW)! There was never a dull moment while reading this book. Every page I read held my interest and kept me captivated. The story flowed beautifully and the character development was amazing. Vita and Prophet’s story are told in dual POV’s which gives readers some insight to their very complex, traumatic and tainted pasts.
Vita’s is a character that you instantly fall in love with. Vita is unable to speak; she is shy, recluse and does not socialize with the outside world. When her brother, Ira AKA Ghost goes missing, she is forced to go to the Wesson Rebels MC for help. Ira and Houdini are very close. After the violent death of their parents Ghost made sure Vita was safe and protected, he would do anything for her. Although he is a Nomad, the club is his home. When Vita is forced to tell the truth about their pasts, Dallas, the President of the Wesson Rebels agrees to help her. Although Vita has the scars of her violent past, she uses her inner strength and knowledge she learned. The author did an amazing job with this character. Yes she is soft, gentle and scared but at the same time, she is fierce and loyal. Vita will have to go into the lion’s Den, back to the very family that took her parents, her safety and now her brother away. Dallas sends the only person in the MC who is able to communicate with Vita to keep her safe, Prophet.
Prophet, prophet, prophet – I just want to grab him and jump his bones! Prophet is a man that is stuck in his very violent past. He does not trust women, especially women like Vita. I knew from the previous books that Prophet hid behind deep dark secrets. Prophet was the only member of his family to have hearing so of course he knows how to sign. Prophet is a hard and tough man and he sees Vita as the same woman who tormented and killed his entire family. As much as he denies the attraction and pull he has for her he refuses to give her the power to hurt him. He has to help Vita find Ghost while keeping everyone else safe so he has no choice but to try and trust Vita. He has to become the man he never wanted to be again.
Vita and Prophet are total opposites, they do not get along at all but there is no denying the chemistry and connection these two share. When Vita’s life is endangered, Prophet starts to see her as fragile yet fierce and gentle. The total opposite of the ONE WOMAN HE HATES. Being shoved into each other lives, Prophet and Vita soon find out that they are more alike than they once thought. I really enjoyed how well the author was able to unite these two very different but similar characters. Over the course of this book Vita and Prophet open themselves up to the possibility of love and letting go of the past that has tainted them.
Vita and Prophet have to work together to stay alive and bring those responsible for her family’s demise and her brothers to justice. I loved seeing Vita grow throughout this book. The once shy and lonely woman because comes this strong, loving person. We also get to see the hard and rough Prophet, become a caring and loving person. I loved how the relationship between them was not an easy one and how it slowly developed over time.
“Be sure, Vita. Because once we start this, we’re no stopping. If you run, I’ll chase. You try to hide and I’ll find you.”
“The same applies for you.”
“Good, cause I gave you your chance to leave. You’re mine now, and I don’t relinquish things so easily.”
This story was amazing. The MC and Mafia twist added so much more to this story line. Being able to see into their pasts really gave me a deeper understanding of them. Despite the violence they went through and face, their connection was beautiful and believable. Who will be left standing at the end when all comes to head? Definitely one you want to pick up.

From page one, Resurrection had be hook, line, and sinker. There was blood, there was guts, there was bada*s bikers. And as bullets fly, cars are crashed, and lives are lost... there was love (and great sex; can't forget about that *wink*) Overall, it was a hellofa ride—and I loved every heart-stopping second of it.
As I closed out of the book on my Kindle, I had a smile on my face—and nothing feels better than ending the book with a grin. Which makes me wonder: ...when is book #4 in the series coming out, because if it has anything to do with my poor, tortured (but tough-as-sh*t) Houdini, I want in on that action—ASAP.

She must turn to the people who have become his family in order to find him.

These two have chemistry but it is slow to develop, their dislike for one another is what comes across loud and clear for much of their initial interactions. This book was definitely not what I expected!!
Vita has no use of her voice following a horrible attack that we only learn more about towards the middle of the book. To "protect" her, her guardian/brother kept her hidden away in an old farmhouse. He was the only one she could really communicate with, both of them having learned sign language. When he unexpectedly doesn't return home, Vita knows she needs to leave the safety of her home and seek out help from the club he belonged to.
Prophet is the only member of the club who knows sign language and can communicate with Vita. He immediately doesn't like her and is convinced that she is only out for personal gain. However, when the club president sends Prophet with Vita in an attempt to get her brother back, the two have no choice but to learn more about each other. It's only then do we learn why Prophet has such distrust for Vita even though he knows so little about her.
This story is about two lost and broken individuals finding themselves as well as finding each other. Vita had all but given up hope of finding someone who she could communicate completely with. Prophet never thought he would be able to trust someone like Vita again.
This story had more twists and turns that I ever could have expected from reading the blurb about the book. I found it difficult to put the book down once I started reading it.
I have not read the other books in this series, having not realized this book was part of a series. For the most part though this had no impact on my reading of the book; there were only a couple parts near the end of the book when it was clear they were referencing other books in the series with other characters.

First time reader of Shylas and I'm hooked. As a lover of MC reads i found this one to be quite different from the others I have had read.
Vita might be deaf but she is a strong heroine who never backs down and doesn't seem weak.
Prophet has been hurt in the past and doesn't want a relationship but after being assigned to Vita you can see the subtle changes in him.
Very well written it's told in multiple POVs.
Wish i had read the first two books first to get a little bit more background of the other characters but this is defitinely a standalone.

Let me just say that right from the start this book intrigued me. Vita and her brother have been on the run for years from their pasts. But someone finally caught up to her brother and now Vita has to head back to her past in order to find him.
Enlisting the help of her brother's motorcycle club, she's only able to comminicate with Prophet. Due to her disability she is stuck with going to face her past with Prophet watching her back. Unfortunately for her, Prophet has made it pretty clear that she isn't his favorite person.
From the get go, Prophet really didn't like Vita. After watching her in some pretty terrible life and death situations he's starting to come around the fact that he might be in love with this badass chick. She's everything he thought she wasn't and his every dream. Now the only thing standing in their way is Vita's brother.
I loved the fact that this was a MC book unlike any other. Having this been my first book in the series I didn't feel like I was missing anything in the storyline or like I needed to read the first two books in order to understand things. This book could be read as a stand alone but I plan on going back and starting this wonderful series from the beginning so I can appreciate these sexy possessive men in their entirety.

Right from the very beginning you are interested in finding out more about Vita and the people she interacts with. The book’s intense plot moved swiftly and you are quickly drawn in the drama of her world. And FYI – Vita’s life is in chaos. Her complicated family situation and budding romance leaves you devouring page after page excited for her to find justice and a happily ever after with Prophet.
The books blurb is spot on – both characters have suffered greatly and neither person has ever truly gotten past the betrayal. I think that is why their characters understand and recognize the pain embedded in each other’s souls. They were both let down by people they thought loved them. Vita and Prophet’s journey toward finding solace and experiencing unconditional love is one you do not want to miss out on.
This was my first book from Shyla so it was the first book I’ve read from Wesson MC Series. Even though the characters and their books are connected, I was able to enjoy the story without feeling like I was missing anything. I loved it. I was pulled right back into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested in the story. I read it in one sitting. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, betrayal, anger, and heartbreak.

This is Vita and Prophet’s story. Vita can’t speak because of a horrible thing that happened in her past. Prophet knew someone just like Vita in his past that stole everything from him. As always, a fantastic read by Shyla Colt! Vita has had a rough past, at 17 her parents were murdered and the murderers cut her voice box out. Her brother, Houdini, has done his best to shelter his mute sister but when he’s kidnapped Vita takes it upon herself to save him. Houdini is part of the Wesson Rebels MC and Vita decides to start there on her quest to find her brother. The only person at the MC able to communicate with Vita is Prophet. Prophet grew up the only hearing person in his family and doesn’t trust women after his ex destroyed his life. Prophet doesn’t like Vita on the spot because she reminds him of his ex but after they have a few run in’s with Vita’s past Prophet becomes protective and from there a relationship blooms.
I really enjoyed Vita’s development in this book. Her brother has babied her since she the incident when she was 17 and his being gone has forced her to grow up fast. She starts off a scared silent woman and ends up a strong woman who manages to be heard even without a voice. I highly recommend this entire series and can’t wait to read more from Shyla Colt.

I am beginning to love this authors work. Reading Resurrection it is a story just about that.
Vita has gone through the most horrific event in her life, and now she is just living, surviving, hiding away from life like a scared little mouse.
That is until she gets a call that basically resurrects her, and she becomes the person she was in her former life, in order to save her brother.
Due to losing the ability to talk after the horrific event, there is only one person that can help her and understand her. That person is Prophet, and he has demons of his own to deal with.
These two are thrown together, but I think that this is the best thing as they help each other overcome the horrors of their lives and help them life to the fullest.
This was a fantastic read, you have action, an emotional rollercoaster, love and seriously hot scenes.

Vita has gone through the most horrific event in her life, and now she is just living, surviving, hiding away from life like a scared little mouse.
That is until she gets a call that basically resurrects her, and she becomes the person she was in her former life, in order to save her brother.
Due to losing the ability to talk after the horrific event, there is only one person that can help her and understand her. That person is Prophet, and he has demons of his own to deal with.
These two are thrown together, but I think that this is the best thing as they help each other overcome the horrors of their lives and help them life to the fullest.
This was a fantastic read, you have action, an emotional rollercoaster, love and seriously hot scenes.
I look forward to reading more of Shyla's MC reads.

This is the third book in the Wesson Rebel MC series.
This is my first read of the author and I do feel I would have benefited from reading the first books in this series. What I do like is that the heroine Vita is deaf but it was great to see she was portrayed as a strong individual. She is on the hunt for her missing brother, Houdini, both of them holding a secret that she is forced to tell the MC. Prophet is assigned to help in her search, as he is the only one who can sign with her.
The pair are wary of each other at first but the trust and attraction slowly builds to a passionate and steamy read. It is also action packed and takes the reader on a fast paced ride.
Overall an enjoyable MC read, that offered something different. I do however recommend reading the series in order which I hope to go back to do so.

Shyla Colt is easily one of my go-to authors when I want to read motorbike club romance. She knows how to write rounded characters you can relate to and paint a world you can easily visualise. This story is no different. I loved Vita. She's mute and damaged but she's feisty. I don't think I've read a female character written by this author that I didn't like. I understood Prophet and the reasons he was so closed off but I still loved him. There's a lot going on. Vita and Prophet's pasts play a huge role in moulding their behaviours but neither can help the attraction they feel for each other.The cast of supporting characters are fun and engaging. A great read. There's beautiful romance as well as heart-thumping suspense. I'm looking forward to more.

I couldn't wait to read Vita's story and what a rollercoaster ride it was. We met her in a previous book in the series as she is Houdini's sister that has been in hiding for years after an attack left her unable to speak. In this part of her story we learn more about what happened to her and her life before the attack. I loved that Prophet is assigned to her and falls for this brave and sassy woman. She reminds him of someone that hurt him badly, yet she rocks his world when he finds out she is so different. They are scorching hot together. They have to go back into her old world in order to save her brother. The MC and mob collide in their story and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to read more in this series.

Resurrection starts in the middle of the situation and you're not disappointed. Shyla Colt really conveyed the emotions of Vita. It was enough that you could almost feel her emotions. There were lots of questions about Vita that are given in time. The same applies to Prophet, especially his attitude.
We get certain scenes from Ira's point of view as well, and wow, that is definitely not good.
Resurrection combines two of my favorite genres, MC and Mob. It grabs your attention ,takes you on a roller coaster of emotion and I couldn't put it down!

I liked this book more than the first book in the series. I still wasn't wowed. It could have been so much better. Vita is a mob princess in hiding and her cover has been blown. She has damage to her voice box an can not speak. Prophet is the MC member who is the only one can comunnicate with her. He becomes her protector. Of course, being in close proximity, the fall in lust and then love. There are a few good scenes when the outside action was good and added a little excitement. But the romance was a little weak. The ending was a little anticlimatic. After building the tension of them in hiding and the bad guys finding them, it kind of just ended. The entire book seemed hurried.

One hot, stormy read. A biker, a lady, a missing brother, car chases, bullets flying and this makes for an adrenalin pumping ride. Hold on to your ereaders and jump in for this wild ride through some mafia territory and bikers land cause it's a fast paced read. Prophet and Vita bond through car crashes and flying bullets even though they started out as untrustworthy to each other. Having to depend on each other, trust each other to have each other's back they finally manage finding someone who understands what they're each going through from past hurts. Hold on tight for this bumpy, emotional ride.

It's a MUST READ romance story that will get your blood pumping and your mind screaming aww at you over and over again. The characters are ones to love and hate at the same times, the authors writing to love over and over again on page after page. It's one of those read from cover to cover stories with no breathers. I was left with wanting more of Vita and Prophet that's for sure I'm really curious as to know what's next for them??? Will there be more of them??? It's almost like I need to know, it's a craving going on inside my head that wont go away.

Again AMAZING.
Book 3 was everything and more. Just perfect. My heart was pulled in every direction and I went from she did it again, what the h just happened oh no oh my oh my crap she didn't go there did she.
I'm in love with this author Shyla Colt is an amazing author. You can feel the passion she has for everything in her books. The passion she has for writing you can feel it in your hearts of hearts through her books.
If you haven't yet read her work I highly recommend it.
