Bernice Caulder has been unlucky in love for as long as she can remember, and now that she was a mail-order bride, she wondered if her bad luck didn’t follow her from her home town of Independence, Oregon all the way to Nowhere. a tiny speck of a town in the Washington territory. Why else would her husband-to-be be having such a hard time making up his mind about her?
Warren Johnson had his life all planned out, and it didn’t involve a wife any time soon. But when his grandfather ups and orders him a mail-order bride (not to mention fails to tell Warren about it) his life is turned upside down. He didn’t want a wife, didn’t plan on a wife, and by golly, he was going to make sure he stuck to his life’s schedule! But did fate have other plans?
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
Bernice Caulder finally got her story and her man! Bernice became a mail order bride to Nowhere. Warren Johnson came home from college and found out Grandpa had ordered him up a special present. This story had me chuckling throughout. Throw in the Weaver's, a family of skunks, and Apple Boy and get ready for a rip-roaring good time! What will the mail order bride stagecoach bring next for us to enjoy? Kit Morgan never disappoints as she brings her devilish humor to print from the romantic old west!
It is finally poor Bernice's story and was so glad to finally see what happened to her! With all the bad luck she has had in Independence, she decides to become a mail order bride herself and leaves for Nowhere. Anywhere to get away from her controlling mother! Warren Johnson had no idea his grandfather ordered him a mail order bride and balked at the idea to be forced to marry right away. A lovely adventure, with a few skunks involved, that warms the heart and brings out the humor! Love, Love this duo, Kit Morgan's brilliant writing and Michael Rahhal's amazing voices!!
A Mid-Summer's Mail-Order Bride continues the journey of many characters that we have come to know in the Holiday Mail Order Bride series. The characters are entertaining and well developed. The story line is fresh and mingles characters from previous books so you feel like the story continues where it left off. The plot moves along at a good pace. This is a sweet and delightful story that will captivate you and keep your attention from the beginning to the end.
Michael Rahhal did a fantastic job on the narration. He really brought the characters to life. He did a great job with the different accents, especially the Irish accent. Sometimes his impersonations made me giggle. Every single time he said “uhh huh” I just have to laugh. You can hear the passion in his performance with the concise and clear speech while adding depth to the story.
Kit Morgan is one of my favorite authors. I know that when I pick up one of her books that I will not be disappointed. Even though this is part of a series, each book can be read as a stand-alone. I have read/listened to each book back to back. If you are looking for a good mail order bride series to start, then I recommend starting with the Holiday Mail Order Bride series. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a heartwarming mail order bride romance.
This tale had me laughing. Pain in the neck, Bernice becomes a mail-order bride. Has she changed enough from her immature self, that her groom won’t turn tail and run away. After all, isn’t that what every man has done. Warren has his entire life planned out and a wife at this time is not in the cards. With Bernice’s track record, this isn’t looking too good for her. Their attempt at courting is a comedy. Enjoying this series.
When Bernice Caulder was introduced,I wondered if the series would tell her story and the author did! She left Independence and ended up in Nowhere with a farmer who will love her and cherish her. We see her evolve from a meek downtrodden girl to a strong woman.
Poor Beatrice had enough of having all the men she wanted to marry to loose them to mail order brides. So she decides to become one herself. She travels to Nowhere, Wa. To become an mail order bride to Warren Johnson. When she gets there she finds out Warren’s Grandfather order the bride for his grandson.
Been reading the whole series and the introduction of the skunk into this book was hilarious! Really brightened up a plot line I was struggling through to get to the Weavers series. I read all of the clear creak series first accidentally, and now to go forward I had to start at the beginning of the holiday brides. Happy to be back in Nowhere!
Another cute Holiday Mail-Order Bride story. This one was about Bernice Caulder. It was so nice rooting for her instead of being frustrated at her for trying to break up the couple you were rooting for. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Poor Bernice. She's grown up quite a bit, but still has a lot to learn (as she freely admits). Warren has plans for his life, and doesn't like when others interrupt them. But this girl is different and needs protecting - mostly from herself. Mix in the Weavers, and it is a lively tale!
A very entertaining and funny story of a mail ordered bride that came unexpectedly to her shocked groom to be. I’ve fallen in love with this series, the people, small towns and how everyone knows everything about everybody.
I had to laugh with this one as I was a little too close to the neighbors dog when he got hit by a skunk! Lemon juice nor tomato juice helped either one of us! Great story and the ending was awesome!
I found this book discounted via Freebooksy Those poor mail-order brides! Well, the grooms too. I was confused as to why did Warren, and then Bernice, ordered coffee (and nothing else) when she said she was hungry? It was so, so sad when Bernice said “I’m afraid I’m not much good at anything.” She wasn't but she turned out to be a fast learner. Bernice wasn't well-liked in the other stories but a book or two ago we learned that it was because of her mother. In this book, I'm all for her and she shows growth and persistence; she's unwilling to despair most of the time, and she gained many lasting friendships. Good story.
Number 12 in the Holiday Mail Order Brides series and the focus is on our favorite trouble-maker from Independence, Oregon, "Bernice Caulder". It's about time that Bernice got a story of her own because she has been featured in several of the brides stories, always up to no good. In the last installment, Bernice ran away from her overbearing mother to become a mail order bride on her own terms and finally find the love she really wanted. Bernice ends up in "Nowhere" in the Washington territory (name of the town where the series started) to become a bride for our hero "Warren Johnson". Naturally, Warren didn't send for his bride (his grandfather did) and doesn't know anything about getting married until Bernice arrives the very same day! At least in this one, we are familiar with most of the characters. We have met some the the brides from their own stories in previous books and we get to follow-up/catch-up on their process. This book kept a smile on my face the entire time I was listening and before long, 5 hours had passed and the book was over. Good HEA with this installment and I will hate for this series to end.
Bernice from Independence, Oregon, goes to Nowhere, Washington, as a mail order bride. If you have read the series in order, which you should, you know that poor Bernice has missed out on several beaux.
This is not the strongest or funniest story in the series. I think that poor Bernice deserved better. It was nice to be reunited with several I'd the characters from the beginning of the series--the Riley brothers and their brides among others.
This review is for the rest of the series. I just don't have time to do individual reviews. So if you are looking for a good, clean, enjoyable romance give this series a shot. The stories are heartwarming and fun to read. I was able to get through them pretty fast and they were all enjoyable. I would definitely love to read more.
I came across this series on Amazon one night at work and it introduced me to the whole genre of mail order bride/western historical romance that I did not know existed before. From that time on I've never read a book by Kit Morgan that I haven't enjoyed.
I don't think I can say much else about this series the number of the book speaks for itself. The 12 book in this wonderful series and I can't wait for the next one!
