I can't believe this is a debut novel. It's a fantastic read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Brooklyns the daughter of a well known criminal. She's just moved into a new apartment to be nearer her new job as an Assistant District Attorney. There is a killer on the loose and he's targeting females similar to Brooklyn so her life's in danger.

Marks the hot alpha detective trying to find the killer. He's known Brooklyn for a longtime and will do anything to protect her.

This is a brilliant five star romantic thriller. I found it to be an edge of the seat read with plenty of twists and turns. Looking forward to reading more from this author. Loved it.

5 Holy Shit Stars!!!! I loved this book. Surviving Brooklyn is York's debut novel and she comes out of the gate running!

When Brooklyn Montgomery accepts her new position as the Assistant District Attorney, she comes to realize she was hand picked for the job because her looks match the description of the latest murder victims that have led to some unrest in New York City. There is a killer on the loose and Brooklyn is bound and determined to help catch him and put him away. With the help of her best friend Mark Stone, a detective for the NYPD, she begins to work the case until her life becomes threatened.

Brooklyn is the daughter of a very prominent crime boss and has done everything she can to get away from the lifestyle that she grew up around. Her relationship with her father is strained, they have never really been on solid ground, but when the killer makes a play for her dad, will she be able to protect him? Will Mark be able to come through and help her protect the only parent she has or will all hope of rebuilding their relationship be lost.

Mark Stone will stop at nothing to protect Brooklyn from the killer on the loose. What he didn't expect was for Brooklyn to break down and let him know how she really feels about him. Little does she know that he harbors a dark secret that will never allow them to be together. Will he be able to right the wrongs of his past and be able to protect Brooklyn as well or will he lose the love of his life again?

This has to be one of the best new indie books out there. Elizabeth York packs a punch and delivers an awesome tale of suspense, mystery, anguish and love. Her characters are well written and the story grips you from the start, you won't want to put it down. Hold on for a helluva ride, because York delivers! For a debut book, it is awesome. With strong writing, you feel like you are part of the story. You get sucked in and feel what the characters feel. With a few twists that I never saw coming, Elizabeth York knocks this one out of the park for me. I look forward to reading more of her work and watching her grow and develop. I can't wait for book 2.

I received a recommendation to read this book from a friend. She has never steered me wrong in the past so I knew that I wouldn’t regret one-clicking. That was an understatement. This book blew me away.
This is hands down of the best romantic, psychological thrillers that I have ever read. I was so enthralled with the evolving relationship between Mark and Brooklyn, while hanging on every clue into the case of the killer that I was not even paying attention to the percentage of my progress in the book. Before I knew it, boom, the book was over and I was left with one hell of a book hangover.

The characters were strong and well evolved. Brooklyn was an excellent heroine. She captured that strong vulnerability that I always love to see with lead female characters. Her struggles at juggling her feelings for Mark, her volatile relationship with her father and the realization of ever growing involvement with RJ, had me eagerly anticipating where the story was going.

Mark, the sexy, alpha, brooding detective was a great character but honestly he also frustrated the ever living crap out of me. While his reasoning for avoiding a relationship with Brooklyn was eventually revealed, I wanted to reach through the pages and shake him to snap out of it already. While the boy definitely had it going on with some majorly hot scenes, the internal, back and forth struggles that he had his relationship and friendship with Brooklyn, tended to be a little bit of a turn off at times.

My biggest surprise was Brooklyn’s boss. In the beginning, I didn’t think he was going to be more than a background character. As the book progressed he became a bigger part of the story and I was pleasantly surprised the direction that relationship with Brooklyn took.

I could probably keep going on and on about this one, but trying to keep this review spoiler free is becoming more and more difficult. Sexy, thrilling and one hell of a ride, Surviving Brooklyn is one that you do not want to put off reading.

Oh wait!! Want to know who her childhood, lifetime BFF is??? wait for it.... yup!! Lead detective for the NY Police... oh yeah.. and she has been pining for him since childhood... yeah.. like.. no story there either, right?? lol

OHHHHH.. and the big one!!! Because Ms. York wants to "Eff" with your mind as much as possible... the case her and her BFF are working on trying to crack the killer... yeah.. that little killer.. who is killing everyone that resembles Brooklyn... yeah...not twisted at all!!

DNF at 9%. I hit like mid-chapter 2 and I was like I can't do this anymore. We get a very bizarre introduction to our H/h that... kind of unnerved me. The dialogue is awkward as hell and very... uncomfortable. The writing is far too descriptive and I just wanted to yell at the author to get to the damn point. Ducking out of this one early.

Jeez, for a debut novel this leave many others in its wake!
So what has me reaching for the superlatives – I would struggle to narrow it down because the whole book is just fantastic.
Brooklyn has just started as the Assistant District Attorney but there is more to her appointment than just her super skill. The city is reeling under a spate of recent murders and Brooklyn unfortunately bears a striking likeness to the victims, so catching this killer has taken on a whole new urgency.
Working with her friend and New York detective Mark, Brooklyn sets about the search before the killer gets his sights set on her!
There is so much going on, on each and every page that my mind was awash with leads, secrets, angsts and misgivings but they were all blended so carefully together that I felt as if I was being completely dipped into the events as they unfolded.
The situation with Brooklyn and her father is complicated, she had gone into the one career that mean she is the polar opposite of her dad, she upholds the law while he breaks it at every available opportunity and he does so from on high, as an all-powerful crime boss. But when he becomes the focus of the killer, Brooklyn has to put her contempt for his activities to eth back of her mind and do what she can to protect him no matter how much he doesn’t want her assistance.
But she can’t do it all alone, she has to lean on the one man that has her back, Mark can he help her protect her reluctant father and more to the point can he protect her not only from the killer but from the secret that he had hidden from her.
While Brooklyn is willing to open her heart to Mike, he feels that they have no future but can he see the light and understand that to win his woman he had to start by accepting that what is in the past does not have to control his future. He has the power to change his fate, he just needs to put his heart not only into moving forward but has to put it on the line too.
A completely astonishing story that held my attention from start to finish and which has firmly ensconced itself in my top ten of the year so far.

The Bio for Elizabeth York says “up and coming author” and I have no doubts that she is going to have a very successful career!!! This first book of her’s is amazing!!!!

Brooklyn is the new Assistant District Attorney and she is determined to make this job everything it can be. She’s moved into a great apartment with her BFF, has a great job now and her life is moving forward. Until the case from hell comes along. Her boy crush, now man crush, is a detective and she’s know him pretty much her entire life. Mark has been there for her through everything. In the past few years she pushed him away because he was dating someone and she couldn’t watch him be with her. She’s been in love with him for years but has never expressed this love. Does Mark feel the same? Can they move from friends to more?

Mark has his hands deep into this serial killer investigation. Now that Brooklyn is also the DA he’s hoping that they can finally find this killer. However, Brooklyn confesses some things and he’s having to deal with her emotions and not hurting her along with figuring out his own feelings. He loves her but it’s extremely complicated. For one thing he has to make sure she’s safe, the killer has only been killing girls that look like Brooklyn.

This book has twist and turns that are amazing and the main thing I loved….it’s pretty HOT!! There is a major cliffhanger but hopefully book 2 will be out very shortly!!! I can’t wait!!!

Highly Recommend!!!!

This book is just WOW!! It was amazing and kept me going from the beginning. Brooklyn is this strong woman who will not let anyone bring her down. All while there is a murderer going around killing people who look like her.She is the new Assistant District Attorney and has been in love with her best friend Mark as long as she can remember.

Mark's not only Broooklyn's best friend but also the lead detective on the case for the killer. He's a sexy alpha male who flips moods worse than a girl I think. But I loved them both. But what Brooklyn doesn't know is that Mark has been keeping a secret from her for a very long time. Will this secret ruin any chance of them ever being together?

They are a force to be reckoned with and will heat up your screen while you are reading this. But will they catch the killer before he catches her? The killer wants Brooklyn to play his game but will she succumb to what the killer wants or stand her ground and push him too far?

The twist's and suspense in this book had me on the edge of my seat and yelling at some of the characters like they would hear me. I am so ready for book 2 to be released. For cliffhangers it was so good that it sucked to be left where it was. i kept trying to flip pages and close the book out go back a page and try again because I did not want it to end.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Brooklyn had been picked by a higher up to be the next Assistant Attorney. A serial killer was on the loose and every victim resembled Brooklyn. Moving back home for the job allowed her to reconnect with friends. Mostly Mark, best friends since high school. Mark now a detective for NYPD. Together Brooklyn is determined to catch the killer. Being the daughter of a crime boss, Brooklyn has done everything she can to avoid being connected with that life style. When Brooklyn's life is in danger Mark will do anything he can to protect her. Brooklyn has had romantic feeling for Mark for years. But he avoids that part of their relationship. Brooklyn can't figure out why. Between the strained relationship with her father, laying her heart on the line with Mark and her boss wanting her Brooklyn is trying her best to stay one step ahead of the killer.

What a debut book. You just want to turn pages as fast as you can. For a psychological thriller, there is lots of romance, sex and family drama and suspense. You get drawn up into Brooklyn's world and you don't want to leave. The characters have depth. They all play a important role in the storyline. There is a cliff hanger. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

A Definite Must Read!
Elizabeth York's debut is a knock out! This book was a great, fast paced read. I was drawn into the story soon after picking up the book. I loved Brooklyn and Mark. It was good seeing their relationship evolve but at times I wanted to grab one of them and shake them. Brooklyn is a new Assistant District Attorney in New York City, and Mark is a detective and there is a killer on the loose out on the streets. Brooklyn and Mark have been friends since they were children, and Brooklyn secretly is in love with him. Mark will stop at nothing to keep a Brooklyn safe, and she tells him how she feels, but he is keeping a huge secret. Will this keep them from being together? This book is full of drama, suspense, and twists and turns. It is just so well written, I was so captured by the story, I couldn't put it down. I had to keep turning page after page to find out what was coming next. I definitely recommend this book, but I will warm you, there is a cliffhanger ending! Can't wait for the next installment! I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by Elizabeth York there was suspense with lots of twists and turns bringing you to a amazingly awesome story.
Brooklyn strong willed woman that is starting the story being offered the new assistant Distract Attorney. She is assigned to the city's most tramatic case of the time. Upon further investigation she realizes quickly the victims all look just like her!
"There is one thing I want and she is like the sun over Brooklyn. Her hair is dark as night and her eyes as blue as the ocean. Bring her to play and you will live to see another day."
I totally loved this book and all the different characters she brings us fear, love and wanting more from each of them that as she introduced each in the story.
I fell in love with Brooklyn and the suspense of the game as well as the undying love between Brooklyn and Mark is just Hot as He**! The sparks fly as she opens her heart to the man she has loved all her life, but will he love her the same way she does him.
I cannot wait to see Book two, you left me at a total cliffhanger can't wait to see the outcome !!!

Surviving Brooklyn is a well thought out and written book that brings us into the life of Brooklyn Montgomery. The newest ADA, daughter of a well known crime boss, and much more (you have to read to find out what else she is). As we begin the Surviving Brooklyn we find Brooklyn as she is moving into her new apartment, unpacking, and going through the case files of her first case. This case plays a huge part in the book. The killer has yet to be identified, although he loves to taunt the police and even the prosecutors assigned to the case, Brooklyn is no exception to this.

Brooklyn is paired up with Lead Detective, Mark Stone. Mark and Brooklyn have known each other since childhood. Throughout the book Brooklyn and Mark fight their feelings for each other. A promise and tragedy that occurred in their past has kept them apart. Sit back and read, biting your fingernails and see how their past comes back to mess not only with their emotions and lives but also the Forget-Me-Not case.

Yes this has steamy scenes, fair warning gents

I just couldn't connect. And that is ok because I still found it to be interesting and well written. It was just not my cup of tea.

The story was told well and the characters were interesting but I just couldn't connect and stick with it. It lacked that one thing to pull me in and keep my attention. I do however think that those who enjoy reading romance suspense with a hot hero and an independent heroine will like this one.

I did enjoy that both characters were childhood friends and already had a connection to one another. It's somewhat "second chances" and made their instant connection that much better. It's also somewhat dark, Brooklyn is working for the DA to find a killer that is killing women that look like her. Definitely creepy and messed up, and makes for an interesting suspenseful part of the story.

If you like Romance Suspense give this new indie author a try. I think you'll enjoy her story.

~~Thank you to the author for an ARC copy for an honest review. And Congratulations on your debut novel! ~~

Making her name as a serious attorney is Brooklyn's goal. What better way than to take the ADA job and over see the biggest case New York has seen in a while. The case of a serial killer named The Forget Me Not killer. He has been killing women that look amazingly like her. with the help of her childhood friend and cop Mark she hope to be able to capture him.
Sparks fly as she opens her heart to the man she has loved all her life, but will he love er back?
This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions of fear and love that will have your head spinning. The suspense of finding a killer that only wants her will have you at the edge of you seat. A nail bitter all the way to the end. Elizabeth York's style of writing will keep you on your toes and guessing. Her character are so well written, that you can picture them all in you head as the movie unfolds. An amazing read that will have you begging for more!

Ink Angels Book Blog received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was not what I was expecting and that's a good thing. Reading the first few pages I thought I had a good idea of what the book was going to be about and honestly I was kind of put off because it didn't seem like something I would like, BUT I am adventurous and continued to read through. I could not have made a bigger misjudgment on the book if I tried. This book had everything I like and then some. It was seriously a great read from beginning to the end.

Brooklyn was an amazing character with her strong souled abilities and I could not get enough of her adventurous side. I was a little disappointed with the way it ended, but I am hoping there is another one to follow! :)

If you love a book that will keep you on your toes, make you swoon, cause goose bumps to form or even make you question the characters, then this is definitely the book to read!

I received an copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion…….

Brooklyn has one goal as an ADA and that's taking down a killer who kills women who look like her.
Her long time best friend, Mark, is a detective on the case. When she confesses her feelings for him the sex becomes off the charts, but lines get blurred between feelings and keeping relationship platonic since they work together.
A big surprise is Brooklyn's boss! Totally did not see this coming and OMG this added character was the icing on the cake times three (hint hint).
Can Brooklyn catch the killer by risking her life and just who is this killer that keeps taunting her?
Well guess what they tell you who the killer is and chapter later books ends. So stay on the edge of your seat waiting for book two to see the unexpected twist where Brooklyn, Mark, and her boss take this case and their mutual relationship twist.

Suspenseful, full of twists, steamy, and warning has a CLIFFY!!

I had a dream one night that I could be anything, and do anything that I wanted. I wanted to be an author. The more I thought about it the more I thought I know the best story to start with and her name will be Brooklyn. Straight from my soul this book is a roller-coaster of events that even I ask the writer did not see coming. The characters took over as my fingers typed on the keyboard. I hope you come along as we venture into New York where Brooklyn Montgomery gets the job she was hoping for, but there is a string attached. Dive into the romance as Brooklyn confesses her love for Mark, and while he loves her back there are just too many secrets to allow him to be with her. Meet Taylor, the boss who gives a whole new meaning to working at home. I promise you will never see a blue forget-me-not flower and not look over your shoulder to see if the Cut-Me-Not killer is there.

The story has laughs, pain, suspense, twist and turns, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Brooklyn story. Brooklyn is the Assistant District Attorney and she needs to help solve a case that involves a killer that wants to play with her. Mark is her best friend who she is in love with. But he runs hot and cold. Can they work together to catch a killer? Or will the killer keep playing with Brooklyn and slowly murdering people? Should she go into hiding or will that enrage the killer and have the killer murder someone she loves? Does she know the killer? Will the killer stop or will the killer continue until he has Brooklyn in his grasp?

I loved these characters and also a few of the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a good read. Some parts of this book were confusing and weird.

I recommend this book.

I love a good book with mystery involved, especially if it has a romance tangled in. This one is the perfect mixture of both. Brooklyn comes from family of criminals and has done everything to get away from that life. Mark is her childhood friend and is the lead detective for the NYPD. He is hot, sexy and brooding. They are each fighting the feelings for each other. Can they get past the stuff that is working against them to make a relationship work? Will they solve the mystery? You will have to read it to find out. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

If you want a book that will grab a hold of your heart and not let go, this is absolutely the book for you!! I have to be super honest here and say that I can not believe this is this author's debut book. The writing was unbelievable! Also, I want to say Romantic Suspense is my very favorite genres and I seem to be more critical because of that and this book blew me away!! Brooklyn and Mark are characters that make you fall in love with them from the get go and you will still be loving them at the end. Forewarning, this book does end in a major cliffhanger so be prepared for lots of cussing and wanting to throw things. Luckily, book 2 is available now. I give this book 5+ AMAZEBALLS stars!! A copy was gifted in exchange for an honest review.

I have to take my hat off to Ms. York, this book was AMAZING!!! You are sucked into the story from the beginning and you won't put it down. There is so much that happens in this book, a love story that has you guessing what is going on the whole time. There will be so many questions, but that makes the book, right?

The characters have you feeling everything they are in the story, that to me is 5 stars! Warning- you are in for a roller coaster ride that will throw you off a few times, but will pick you back up for the finale!
Elizabeth, is now one of my favorite indie authors! You rock!!!

This is the first book in this amazing romantic suspense series. Let me tell you, Elizabeth York sure does deliver this series!

Brooklyn is a young woman about to start her dream job as an assistant Distract Attorney. There is a major murder case that is gripping the city, and sadly, the victims all look like Brooklyn. This is something that is haunting her, not that I can blame her at all. She is surprisingly handling it well, better than I am sure most people would.

This story is full of twists and turns, and the surprises. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the story. I am dying to have book 2 and 3 and find out what is going to happen next!!

I struggled with this book. The characters weren't too developed, but I really liked the plot. The book started out great, but it went downhill fairly quickly. Some actions made no sense and did not fit with the characters at all. The dream scenes were also unnecessary and too long. I really wanted to like this book, but the forced triangle at the end turned me off. I'm not sure if I will continue with the series.

From the beginning to the end, the book sucks you in. Seeing Brooklyn and Mark's relationship progress was nice, if a little off putting at times. How could the killer get away time and again? Mark was such a wonderful hero. *sigh* the ending had me throwing things, and punching a wall. I can't believe it ended like that. I'm into the next one, and hopefully my hand will heel by the end of it. Suspense A+.

I loved this book. Usually I am a skeptic and never give 5 stars. However, Ms. York has bowled me over with her unique writing skill that drags you inside the story and takes you for a ride. This book was well thought out, and written as though this is a natural talent or that she has been an author for thirty years.

I cannot wait to see what happens in Book two!
