Lachlan Downy was a lover, not a fighter.

Okay, he wouldn't lie, he was a fighter, too. But nobody had to know that. Especially not Memphis Tennessee Conner and her stuffy attitude when it came to cops and ‘men like him.’

Memphis knew cops. Her daddy was a cop. He was also the president of a motorcycle club. Needless to say, he’s about as alpha as they come, and she’s tired of overbearing men who think they know how to run her life better than she does.

So when Downy comes into her life running his smooth talking mouth, she realizes that she’ll have to stand strong against his pretty words and promises to give her what she needs.

Downy is determined, though.

He’s the hostage negotiator for KPD SWAT, and he’s never met a person, man or woman, he couldn't talk around into his way of thinking.

Although, Memphis is about to show him just how much he miscalculated.

Seems Downy may not be as smooth as he thought, and Memphis is just the girl to show him the error of his ways.

From the start of this one I felt like I had so many moments of What??? then Oh ok..whew! Lani did you decide to mess with our heads a bit on this one? I got mad. I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more. It was HOT. It was beautiful. It was pure Lani Lynn Vale's magic. Totally digged everything from the age difference.. to the surprises. Even the angsty moments were handled in just the right way. Another totally safe read with one sexy hot perfect hero.

I've enjoyed all Mrs. Vale’s books for a few years now. I anticipate each book and even pre-purchase them. From her original Freebirds series, to the Dixie Warden series and now this new Code 11.KDP Swat series. I think it's brilliant how each series ties to the next, allowing previous characters to make random appearances in current books. My favorite element of her writing, by far, is the humor she brings to the stories. Her books are littered with mouthy heroines, unfiltered children and situational humor that always leave me laughing out loud. I mean who think of having some couple banging a bed right through a bedroom wall, I mean really.
Her latest installment, Bang Switch, is just as enjoyable, hot alpha males, strong capable women and a whole lota love-in. Top that off with a little taste of danger, a bit of mystery and you have a book worth a Friday night read.

Memphis Conner knows all about cops and bikers, raised in a family with both she vowed she would never go there. When she meets her neighbor, Lachlan Downy, she thinks he is a player just like the rest. However, Lachlan is more a lover and he is a one woman type of man. That being said he would not say he was a novice at relationships and when he and Memphis begin seeing one another they both seem to have a gift for not communicating. Downy is tracking down missing dogs and a possible fighting ring, while Memphis is falling hard for Downy and not sure what their relationship is. Can these two who seem destined for one another find their way to each other?

This one was good but I did feel like the age difference played a key role in this one. While I liked Memphis I did feel like she was a bit immature at times and Downy was a bit aloof. Was good, not a favorite though because their are so many good books in this series wehre the characters connect so profoundly you just want their books to go on and on.

5 'BEARDED DRAGON' STARS!!

I am an unrepentant Lani Lynn Vale junkie. I make no apologies for this, and I'm starting this review off letting you know that right off the bat. If you're expecting a critical review of this book, with in depth examinations of plot lines and character development, move on to the next review. You won't find that here. This is more of a thank you to the author.

There is something about Lani's writing that just hits all the right notes with me. I have yet to read a book of hers that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Her writing style is one that I find almost comforting. While her stories, plots and characters change, I know that once a month, with astounding regularity, Ms. Vale is going to "give me what I need," to quote Downy, the hero from this book.

Her sense of humor is very much like my own. I laugh, snicker, snort, giggle, guffaw (and I never guffaw!) and smile throughout her books. They bring me happiness, they bring me joy. No matter the shit that may be swirling in my life, I know that on a #LLVReleaseDay, I'm guaranteed a sliver of happiness, a lot of laughter and a really freakin' great HEA. I love this woman's work. HARD. It's an absolute, no fail, guaranteed hit for me. If I could say one thing to her, face to face, it would be "when the time comes that you question if you should do something differently, woman, it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Thank you, Lani, for writing your books and sharing them with us. Thank you for being so damn funny. Thank you for creating these hot, sexy alpha beasts and those wonderfully smart and sassy women. And most of all, those little blurbs at the beginning of each chapter - those, well, they are the some of the funniest things I've read in print ever anywhere. I look forward to them, I read through each chapter of your books, soaking up the goodness of your story, but also in anticipation of what you'll kick off the next chapter with. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a bumper sticker, a t-shirt, heard someone say something or seen a funny eCard and thought "that would be perfect for Lani!" So thank you for bringing me a bit of happiness and laughter each month. Girl, you'll get no complaints from me, I'm a #FanForLife. #32MoreDays ...

4.5⭐️

I like Lock (hero in Sinners are Winners) so I decide to check out his parents book as well and that brought me here.
It isn't perfect but I love it.

I wonder why Lani changed the way she wrote her heroines because this one is a confident kickass woman and far from LLV’s usual “kind-of-pathetic” heroines in her recently releases. I love her.
Memphis (heroine) isn’t flawless, she did have her moments. She also has her own issues that she needs to work out.
I think she’s a strong woman not simply because she’s experienced but because she LITERALLY TAKES NO SHITS from anyone. This young woman had a spine.
I like the way she handled OW who appeared naked at H’s place and tried to make her jealous (which I still think is random and unnecessary). She told H that she didn’t do jealous and he should be the one to tell this OW to “f*ck-off” himself. There’s NO slut-shaming needed here folks.😁

I like Downy. He was a manho before he met h but it didn’t bother me...much since she was also experienced. He knew he wanted her and never once did he stray. He went all protective alpha like any other LLV’s Hs. Though at some points I want to write myself into the book and slap him upside the head for being a dumbass 🙄. I mean avoiding your girlfriend because you need to deal with your problem for days without talking to her then get confused why she’s upset with you later?? Like dude, come on.😑

I like h’s dad. I didn’t completely agree with what he did because it was f*cked up - he put a GPS tracker on h and she thought it was her birth control implant. But hadn’t he done that, our MCs could have died.

Safety :
14 years age gap between MCs (20/34).
No virgins. Both MCs experienced. No OP after they met.
In the beginning, h thought the noises she heard through the wall was from H’s sexual activity with OW but it wasn’t.
OW drama - it was only narrated by h and not a scene. OM drama - this guy wanted to take revenge on H caused troubles.
Safe sex : they didn’t use condom (h thought she was on birth control). She got pregnant but he was more than thrilled about it so..they’re cool I guess.
HEA.
Possible trigger : two dogs attacked h were killed (one was shoot and the other by H’s K-9).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

First off - can LLV have hotter covers? No, not unless they come with a scratch n' sniff.
Jeezus woman!

Second - it's offically official as of officially now (unless I made it official before), she's an auto buy for me. Hell, she's a "pre-order, I don't give a F*&k what it's about, I'm gonna buy it" buy for me.
I love this series. So much it makes me go back and read others in the series again when I'm done just so I can have more of these character...this writing...this world she wraps me up in.
Obviously this book was no different.
Even while it wasn't my absolute favorite in the series, it's still an outstanding book. I fell in love with a red head in this book. Surprisingly it was the H! Mmhmmm and was he ever lovin' perfect!
As usual, the story was filled with scorching sexy scenes, LOL hilarious moments and then super heartfelt moments that were the perfect addition.
I loved this story. Again, not my favorite in the series, but that's just because they are chock full of bad a*& H's and h's.
Totally recommend and definitely in order, only because you'll be doing yourself a favor to read more of LLV.

I really have enjoyed this series, but in this installment I found that while I like both of the MC's, I really couldn't connect to the couple. It also felt like there were huge gaps in the story and the overprotective, over the top father was a little on the ridiculous side.
On a side note: Dayymn....where she finds theses guys for her covers, they are Fiine!!

3.5 Downy??? stars..

Full review here...

Memphis knew what it meant to be the sole focus of "Men like Him" she grew up surrounded by it and left it behind her. She did everything she could to be independent and relied on herself to get where she wanted to be. But being so young and stubborn as well as having a bunch of obstacles thrown at her...
lead her straight into Downy's arms.

Downy was just getting his feet wet at different duties with his SWAT team and with a few
of his own disastrous events seemed to draw into himself. All this while trying to start an actual relationship with Memphis something neither one of them were used to as well as having a whopping age gap between them.

I have devoured everyone of these books but have to sadly admit this one just didn't do it
for me.
It still had tons that I've learned to look forward to like the loyalty, humor and steamy hot scenes but it lacked the connection between Downy & Memphis.

TRIGGERS this book has extensive dog fighting and a kid dies.

Well folks, I didn’t love it because I can’t stand when women are the ones to always apologize instead of the man. And I’m also not a fan of dead dogs and dead kids. That said, here we go…..

So Memphis (nurse-ish, daughter of Stone (Dixie Wardens Prez)) doesn’t like her neighbor, Lachlan Downy (veteran, SWAT, sometimes a butthead), because the loud sex he has at all hours of the night keeps her awake. It isn’t until her wall literally comes crashing down on her while she’s in bed that she learns it’s not Downy banging all the women, it’s Miller (his book is next). Downy and Memphis get to know each other while they take their dogs, Mocha and Peter, out for potty breaks. They do have a sweet connection. The sex, when they have it, is hot. The story itself revolves around a dog fighting ring and someone who is stealing the neighborhood dogs. That part of the story sucks balls and I had to skip through some of the details, it was just too much. Then something horrible happens. You know they’re going to survive, but it’s sooooo painful to listen to.

Besides the dog fighting and dead kid, I hate when there’s a fight and the woman is the one that has to apologize, even when she’s not in the wrong. I seriously can’t stand that!!! I’ve posted those details below.

I really liked Memphis’ parents. Her dad was awesome, even though he did something really bad. I also like being introduced to Mercy in this one. I wish I had read these in order.

Anyway – they get pregnant, married, and live HEA.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW

So there are two fights that Memphis and Downy have and they really pissed me the F off. I’ll try not to give too many details.

So Downy has something really bad that happens to him at work and he doesn’t want to talk about it. Instead of telling Memphis, he just starts ignoring her. Stops coming to her house, starts avoiding her, etc. She’s really confused and hurt, obvi. So she goes to his 2nd house to try and talk to him and find out what’s going on. When she gets there she finds out he’s having a party, all his friends, he’s at the BBQ pit grilling some food. He looks at her and gives her an angry look and turns his back on her. Oh hell no!!! I would have left right that second, but instead she goes into the house and helps the other cops wives make food for some bake sale or something. He never comes to talk to her or anything. He ignored her for over 2 hours. It’d been 3 weeks since the incident. So what’s a girl to do but call her dad. No, she doesn’t bother telling Downy she’s going to visit her parents. Why the f*ck should she?? He was the asshole. So when her dad calls Downy to ask WTF he did to screw things up, Downy gets all mad that she didn’t tell him she was leaving. OH HELL NO. He’s the one that’s been ignoring her. Of course he shows up and she’s like oh I’m mad at you for ignoring me and he says, “you’re acting like a spoiled child”. Nope. No sir, I’m DONE. But instead they have sex and everything is fine.

Then at the end of the book, she finds out her dad had paid Downy to keep an eye on her. She leaves and ignores him for 3 weeks because she’s hurt and thinks that maybe Downy was only with her because of her dad. He doesn’t come to her and say that he’s sorry he never told her or that he was never with her because of that. Then she decides to go to him and apologize. Ok didn’t we just have the same thing happen before?? She’s had to apologize both times. Seems a little unfair.

I just don’t think women make these men grovel nearly enough. Again, I’m a stubborn mule and this is one of the many reasons why I’m single.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

How in the world have I never read any books by Lani Lynn Vale before this one? I feel like I've been missing out on something really important! Now that I've read this one, I want to read ALL of her books.

Downy and Memphis are perfect together! Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and the free-willed and fiesty Memphis is just want the over-confident alpha Downy needs in his life. She was leery to begin a relationship with a cop because of her controlling father who is a cop and also an MC president. When she thinks "cop", she thinks of the suffocating dominance of her years growing up with her father. She has no trouble standing up for her independence with Downy and she puts him right in his place, which is wrapped around her little finger.

Their dogs are actually what brought them together. They ran into one another while outside their apartment building letting their dogs out. They live on the same floor but hadn't run into one another before. They both are animal lovers, and it's Downy's love of dogs that gets him involved in a dangerous dog fighting case that not only endangers the town, but ultimately puts his and Memphis's lives at risk.

While investigating about the dogs, Downy is also experiencing some family issues that he allows to drive a wedge between him and Memphis. He's never had anyone else in his life to share his burdens with and is used to dealing on his own. It takes work by both of them to get to the stage where they can be there for each other and work as a team through any trials thrown their way.

I loved this book, and I loved watching the relationship between Downy and Memphis grow and evolve as the book goes on. Nothing went smoothly or easy for them, they had to work hard to earn their "happily ever after" and I enjoyed experiencing it with them. Not to mention the sex scenes were scorching hot!! Lani Lynn Vale definitely knows what women want in a book boyfriend and she created Downy as a perfect example of that.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series, as well as her MC series! If they're anywhere close to being as good as this one, I'll be impressed!

The people of Kilgore SWAT are Downy's family. They are waiting on Luke before they are able to move out. Downy's mom and stepfather were not his favorite people. Memphis had to move to a different apartment because when she lost her job after the hostage situation she lost her apartment as well. Every night she has been woke up by her neighbor having sex. Peter her dog needed to go outside, so she took him while out there she saw a dog start after Peter and she got worried because Peter is a lover not a fighter. She was mortified after she told the man that her neighbor was keeping her up all night by being loud while having sex and finding out that he was her neighbor.
Lachlan Downy is part of the Kilgroe SWAT team, he has a dog named Mocha and they have a love hate relationship. He spent 8 years in the army and 8 years on SWAT. He is going to be 35 and he also has a level two certification in hostage negotiations. He is also controlling in and out of the bedroom. Memphis's neighbor
Memphis is working on her Ultrasound Technician Degree, Her father is a cop and part of the Dixie Wardens MC. She works at a diner called the Angry Goose. She has a dog named Peter. Stone is Memphis's father, he is very protective of his little girl. Luke is Downy's boss and team leader. Downy's friend. Miller is the newest member of the SWAT Team.
This is my first book by Lani Lynn Vale and it wont be my last! It's a very well written story one that I know that i will be able to read again and again. The characters are very well developed and you can't help but feel connected to the characters. This book had me laughing.

Reviewed for Hooked on Books---5 stars!

I loved this book! I seriously cannot count how many times I was almost rolling in the floor laughing! I loved Downy and I loved his first name just as much! Memphis reminds me of me in a way; she's such a spitfire that you can't help but love her! There were parts in this book that I snorted on and others where I almost spit out my drink! You can't help but love a good SWAT book and this was definitely one of those! I haven't read the other two in this series, but this one was good enough for me to go back and read them when I have the time! The story-line progressed nicely, the characters were well developed, and some of the scenarios these two ended up in were drop dead funny. I won't spoil it but there is a part in this book that deals with a falling wall that I was snorting on and there are other parts in this book that are just as funny that deal with the same wall! I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone!

I will completely confess to be a Lani Lynn Vale book junkie. I fell in love with her writing with her Dixie Warder Series, and that love has continued through the Swat series. Her books completely grab you from the very first page and take you on a wild ride until the end. Bang Switch is no exception to the wild rise. I adore Memphis and her kick behind attitude. I love Downey - from his pure Alpha attitude to his softer side while he is working as a SWAT negotiator (his first negotiation ripped my heart out). This book made me laugh, brought me to tears and left me wanting more. I cannot wait until the next book in the series. Run to buy Bang Switch now - it is one fantastic read!!

Wow. That was, I think, one of the best LLv books I think I've read yet. To me, it seems like her writing is just getting better and better. You can definitely see the progress she's made since the first books she released.

I think she did a really great job with this book, characters, story line, and series. I love the scenario in which our two characters meet and their relationship begins. I mean, a wall. Huh. And I love the way she ties our new characters into the previous books she's written. Now, Daddy. Daddy motorcycle man. I have something's on my mind about this. Unmmmm boundaries. We need boundaries mr scary biker man. They need respected. It was the one thing I wish we could have focused a little more on. I didn't want her to cave and forgive him. I wanted her to stand strong. Even though, it did pay off in the end and help. Still, just no. I also really liked how LLV wrote the FaceTime aspect in. I thought that was interesting. I don't know I've seen that before in a book.

I do think maybe our heroin has a target on her back with dogs though. Maybe that attack aspect happened a little too much. The only small complaint I had was that Downy said he was a Dom and needed a sub, and Memphis really wasn't one. That part was glided over and he was more of just a strong alpha. But, I think it may have helped if they discussed it, and he explained every relationship in D/s is different. I don't like how he pushed her out when he needed space. I wanted to crawl in my kindle and smack him.

Again, with all that said, I think this is a strong book that stands on its own. It definitely shows growth for LLV and such a cute story for Memphis and Downy.

Holy hell Downy is just flat out delicious. He and Memphis are scorching hot together. She wasn't sure that she wanted to get involved with a cop with her daddy being one, but Downy is pretty persuasive. They first meet in dangerous circumstances, but later when they meet again don't recognize each other from that moment. I just loved Memphis as she was so sassy. I loved that her family was MC. Downy is one sizzling man who has a way with words for sure. Their story was fantastic and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I give Bang Switch 5 hearts!

I think that I would have liked this one better had Downy and Memphis not been so petty when they would fight. Both of them would retreat into themselves, waiting for the other to make the first move. Ultimately one would then start to talk. I could have gotten over this had it happened once or twice, but it was often, so very often.

I did like how these two met, liked how they used the hole to get to know each other better. I also loved how they both were with their dogs.
