I was really looking forward to Jeanette and Saints story, I'll admit I've been curious about Jeanette past, what happened to make her into the woman she is today?
My only worry was the sex, these books are high on the smut scale but in the previous book Saint had been handcuffed to the bed which isn't my thing, so yes I was worried.
I loved Saint and Jeanette is a strong feisty as hell female and while I didn't like her need to dominate I loved that Saint did and gave her that.
I have to admit her past wasn't quite what I'd imagined. The way she came up with the cover story and her ability to use guns had me envisioning something much more convoluted.
I was really looking forward to Saint's and Jeanette's story but I was a little disappointed. I don't really like my heroines dominate. I wanted Saint to take more control. I definetly liked Carter and Layla together better. But, I do love Saint!
Losing her wasn't something he was willing to do. Sometimes life takes you to the edge, but Jeanette had a Saint to catch her.
This is the short story of how they met, how they fell in love, and how much Saint loves going down on her."
This little beauty is Saint and Jeanette's story, the story of how they met and connected, how they fell in love and knew they'd found their soul mates and it's beautiful to watch. Their chemistry is so clear to see and wow. They've gone through their fair share of drama and made it through and got their HEA YAY!
Their story will capture your attention and you won't want to stop until you get to the very end.
This was a beautiful addition to the Taking The Fall series and I loved every minute!
This story must be read after Vols 1-3 to fully understand Jeanette and Saint’s story. This is the final book in the Taking the Fall Series.
I loved this conclusion to the Taking the all series. I wasn't sure about Saint and Jeanette's story because of Jeanette but I ended up really liking this book. Saint of course can stand right along side Carter he is possessive, and jealous of anyone who try's to take Jeannette away or take her attention, he will do anything to make her happy and to be with her. Jeannette comes off hard but when you learn her story you understand it, I also really liked to see her barriers come down with Saint and her soften with him. The epilogue was amazing, and I mean amazing we get to see Saint and Jeanette's epilogue which I did love but them we also get to see Saint and Jeanette's son, Anthony and Carter and Layla's daughter, Mary together, they could get their own book all on their own. There is another character who may possibly(?) get his own book. I am actually hoping both sets get a book.
We also get bonuses of the letters Carter and Layla wrote to one another while Carter was in prison. This just give us more insight into each of them, especially Carter and it's just more evidence of the love Carter had for Layla all along. This is a very streamy series but with that steam are some really great stories with amazing heroes. And even though this series isn't long it was well worth it and one I would definitely recommend.
OK, this was sort of a retelling of some of the happenings from Volume I to III, only from Jeanette's and Saint's perspective. Not bad but not good either. I kept hearing the "voices" of the other two MCs and except for the revenge thing it was stuff the reader already knew about so no bonus there either.
"Falling In" tells the story of Saint and Jeanette, during the same timeframe as the story of Carter and Cherry in the first three books. It can be read as a standalone, as it isn't serialized like initial three offerings in this series - but really, what's the point? Understanding Saint and Jeanette comes so much easier when you've already met them as supporting characters earlier. The story is decent, but I could have done without the "Mommy" and "Daddy" crap.
I just reread this one again. Great addition.Short and sweet. I loved it.The push/pull and separation happened in part 2 & 3, from the start of this, they are together. Great read.
Alex Riley strikes again with Saint and Jeannette! I love the relationship this two had. I wish we could explore their story more but i hear i would end up not liking Mama if we did. Saint and just so near perfect that any amount of suffering she made him feel would not go well with me. lol Also I was also hoping against hope that Mary and Saint jr would get their story but I see that the author wrapped up their little story line here, which I was sad and happy to see.
I can't wait for Alexa Rileys next book! This author never disappoints!
I was so happy to see these two together and get their HEA.. The glimpses we saw of them through out Taking the Fall were hot & funny teasers.. Boy I definitely wasn't disappointed! Hot Dirty Kinky Sweet Funny This is a must read mini series!!!
We get Saint and Jeanette's story and while it is really short we still get an idea of how these two are together. I love that Jeanette had the control in the relationship!
I must be honest, I felt a tad creepy reading the epilogue about Layla and Jeanette's children getting together. I see where Alexa Riley was going with it but I don't know....I just felt weird about it for some reason.
3.5 stars, just this close to be my favorite. This time, the story is about Saint and Jeanette. I can feel the chemistry spark between them and I liked it. Though to be honest the story's a bit too rushed and I think it's typical for novella. But overall I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to devour Alexa Riley's other books!
I read the box set for this series (as part of my KU subscription) Each installment has it's own star rating but not it's own review, you can read my full series review here:
This book is a compilation of some of the letters that Carter wrote to Layla while he was in prison. It is so sweet to see this little bit of insight into him.
me gusto que no le quitaran el protagonico de lider a jannette jajaja me encanta su sarcasmo y que tratara a subebe de 21 años como un niño jajaja y seth como siempre indiferente siempre complaciendo a la mujer jajaja

Falling In: Vol 4 concludes Alexa Riley’s novella-length series Taking the Fall. I’ve been quite enjoying the journey, that is when I could ignore the amount of cheesiness and caveman-ish behavior from the lead male characters. But to be fair, there were some pretty good, hot scenes throughout that kept me hooked and going for the next.
The first 3 volumes were about one couple, Carter and Layla, who had a history together. Carter spent 8 yrs. in jail but he’d been Layla’s bodyguard before that, hired by her crime lord of a father. Layla was pretty sheltered and largely unloved; something that shadows her later years as well. Yes, her needs were taken care of but none of her parents, it seemed, cared about her much. Until she met Carter, she didn’t know the meaning of love or affection at all.
There were twists and turns that land Carter in jail and Layla alone, escaping her father’s clutches. He didn’t want them to be together and returns to haunt them when Layla and Carter are back together after his jail time. Carter had a different history with Layla’s father, a negative one and vengeance had been on his mind for a long time. Because he loves Layla so much (an affection returned by her), Carter’s need for a payback doubled ever since the man did something terrible to his own daughter. It all happened that one fateful night which Layla couldn’t remember until Carter explained to her later in the story.
I mean I love my share of growly, cavemen H’s but there’s always that fine line between sexy and ‘wtf?!’. Carter was just fine for a while, but by Vol. 3 I thought I can do without some of his shenanigans. Saint, on the other hand, was a little underdeveloped so it’s difficult for me to comment on him as a lead.
Saint has been Carter’s close buddy for... well, I have no idea how long but it must be a long time, seeing how they both understood each-other and worked together so well. He’s been keeping an eye on Layla on Carter’s behalf ever since he went to serve time. Along the way, Saint had also managed to get in Layla’s wilder and big mouthed BFF Jeanette’s pants. They’ve been going on and off at it throughout. There were some vague implications of Jeanette having a ‘past’ of sort.
In this installment, I was hoping to get a good story out of it but unfortunately, it went way too rushed for my liking. The story starts simultaneously somewhere in the middle of Vol. 3 of Taking the Fall, as Saint and Jeanette were a part of all 3 previous volumes. All we get is to read their scenes and learn a bit more of what’s troubling Jeanette. IMO, her past wasn’t as dark and disturbing as I thought it’d be. The whole matter was taken care of even before I blinked my eyes and said ‘huh?!’. Overall, Falling In: Vol 4 does wrap this series up but not as satisfactorily as I had expected it would. 3 stars.
I enjoyed reading about Layla and Carter, though not so much the ‘20 yrs. later’ glimpse that was, again, a part of this installment. It seems that at 21, Layla-Carter’s daughter, Mary and Jeanette-Saint’s son, Anthony, are up to no good. :p I’m not even gonna try to imagine what the two over-protective fathers would do about it. Most especially if you know Carter, Anthony should grab hold of his... er, private parts and run for his life. ;) But the boy seems to be up to the task because he’s as much fixated over Mary as were their fathers over their mothers. History repeats itself and all that... :D
PS: there’s this serial killer, Viktor, who was introduced as a secondary character here, though his presence was pretty brief. I’m intrigued and thinking a spinoff... hmmmm, will have to keep my eyes peeled for that one.
I received an ARC as a part of Falling In Release Day Blitz, thanks to The SubClub Books.

I hate that I didn't like this one, because I really enjoyed the first three in this series; however, this one just didn't do it for me. Saint & Jeannette are great together and it was incredibly sexy to see a woman take control. I loved watching this strong man bend to her wishes, because he knows that he'd lose her if he didn't. That was adorable, romantic and pretty fucking sexy.
However, that's where my love for their story ended. I felt that the drama thrown into this novella was completely fabricated. The prior story mentions a "past" that Jeannette is attempting to escape, but that was it. I also really disliked the way that they went about "solving" the problem. It was completely unnecessary, NOT ROMANTIC AT ALL, and pretty much turned me off from them after it happened. I didn't think she was taking control back, I thought she was adding to her problems.
Anyway, the ending of this book was very disjointed - similar to the ending of book 3, but I felt that it was less successful here. The story skips to different points in the future, for the sole purpose of getting us to the "kids" who are now 21. I understand that there was a desire to set up the next book but It wasn't a natural progression to me.
To sum it up - I liked it until it felt forced.
[I recieved an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review]
I enjoyed getting to know a little more about Janette and Saint. This book was ok. I didn’t really get into the story, as it was pretty short a bit too rushed and I think it's typical for a novella. There were some steamy and sexy scenes but I just wasn’t feeling it for these two characters. The book didn’t flow very smoothly; it was too choppy and it didn’t grab my attention.
pretty short and didn't learn too much about them it was just ok. didn't really care that saint wasn't an alpha but thought it was cute all he wanted to do was please her no matter what. 3 stars because of Tony and Mary. I really hope we get a book about them and they are both virgins I'm loving it:)Sneek peek sounds interesting too!
The crazy is strong in this one. Saint is a fantastic (albeit unusual) hero and Jeannette is strong and vulnerable and funny. They are fantastic together. Loved this book. I really hope Ms. Riley writes Victor's story.
I really want to know Viktor story. He sounds interesting for me I hope AR will write a book about him and his girl For this book hummmm I don't know it was just fine the hero wasn't alpha man and the heroine wasn't my type of girls. I like the ending tho
3.5 Stars!! I really enjoyed this alpha male and his Cherry!!! And the epilogue was great. Going in to the future so long that you see their children's life/love!!!!!
it was ok, as other have said her past is nothing like you've been lead to believe it might be by how she acted in the other books so that was confusing and i dont really understand the timeline :\
