NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake lives in North Texas with her husband, three kids, and the laziest rescue dog in the world. She began writing at a young age, concentrating on plays and journalism. It wasn't until she started writing romance and urban fantasy that she found the stories of her heart. She likes to find humor in the strangest places and believes in happy endings no matter how odd the couple, threesome, or foursome may seem.

Her first novel, Their Virgin Captive: Masters of Ménage, Book 1, was a collaboration with New York Times bestselling author Shayla Black. There are five more books available in the series: Their Virgin's Secret, Their Virgin Concubine, Their Virgin Princess, Their Virgin Hostage, and Their Virgin Secretary. The next book in the series, Their Virgin Mistress, is releasing this April.

In addition to the Masters of Ménage series, she is the author of the Masters and Mercenaries series. There are eight full-length novels and four novellas available now, with more coming in 2015.

In 2013, Lexi also began releasing her urban fantasy series, Thieves. The first five are available now, with Ripper, a spin-off to the series, coming in 2015.

5 kick a little ass STARS

I can't remember the last time I was so deliriously happy about 31 pages. The babies are here and it was a glorious look into captain sarcasm's mind.
Mostly because of this:

“You've got your 'worried dad' face on.”
“I don't have one of those.”
“You do. It's a little like your 'I'm going to murder someone' face but slightly less happy.”

A lot of this:

“He needed more fear from his employees. He should begin routine beatings. Yes, that would make him feel better. He could randomly beat the shit out of people, and then he would have the illusion of control.”

But mostly this:

“Why did his sperm have to be overachieving? Two babies? Three girls. He was going to be so overwhelmed.”

Yup, he still is my favourite sarcastic super dom. Please never change, Ian!

I dare you not to sing the title the second you read it. Oh, oooooooohhhh Sweet Child O' Miiiine!

Ian Taggart never thought he'd be a family man, but with his wife Charlotte almost at full term with twins…GIRLS no less…he feels like his sanity is spiraling out of control. In fact, nothing is in control anymore. His wife is still taking down bad guys, his employees are smartasses and his security firm is in danger of becoming the protective detail for Hollywood douchebags. Ian's going crazy, and he might just take everyone else down with him.

SWEET CHILD O' MINE is a super short novella that is just perfect for a quick update on the Ian and Charlie's pregnancy and a great setup for book 9 in the Masters and Mercenaries series, Master No. Ian's fear and frustration is so funny, I love the maniacal and bitchy inner monologue he had going on. There was just one sex scene, and though it was hot, it was more sweetly sensual, which was perfect for this excellent little update.

Bottom Line: This didn't take very long to get through, and it definitely can't be read as a standalone, but as a companion piece to the rest of the series, it's fabulous! - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

Big Tag is hands-down my favorite. Omg who could not love that sexy, dominant, frustrating smoking hot man Ian? He's perfection!
So great to get a little more of him and Charlie. I'm so happy for him and Charlie
It was also great to see Theo and Case at the end with Ian and Sean.
Oh and I really hope that Adam calls Ian out on how he came up with Kala. Lol!
Anxiously awaiting for next book.

A short story special from Lexi Blake featuring Ian "Big Tag" Taggart! Can this big bad Dom be more adorable? His antics kept me giggling. This made me even more excited for the future installments of the series.

This one was all kinds of great! I loved how Ian was so worried about things, how everyone was trying to talk him down from being invaded by babies. But once the babies were there, it all fell into place. And how great was the name Ian had to come up with, so perfect! I can't wait for everyone to figure it out.

Thanks to Lexi Blake for offering her Masters and Mercenaries fans a free peek at the newest additions to the McKay-Taggart family with Sweet Child o'Mine!

Ian has always cracked me up with his hardcore, "your feelings make me sick", I'm-in-control attitude. He's such a sweetheart underneath that hard exterior and this sweet novella is just more proof of that.
"Your ass is mine as soon as those two girls who are renting move out."
Those girls + Charlie = a whole new Ian. I can't wait for the gang to learn exactly what lead him to choose "his twin's" name, Kala . Too funny and SO Ian!

I'm so anxious for more of this series. Lexi has me well and truly hooked on the lives and loves of these characters. I can't wait to read about Erin and Theo's trip to Africa, Mitch and Laurel's story in Adored and Tenn & Faith's story in Master No.

Ian Taggart is back in Lexi Blake’s short story Sweet Child O’ Mine and he’s as sarcastic as ever-but right now that’s because he’s scared. His wife, Charlie, is about to give birth to twin girls and he doesn’t know how to deal with it-especially when Charlie and the girls take down a crazy woman.
This little addition to the Masters and Mercenaries series deals with how Ian deals with the birth of his daughters. Blake’s off beat humor runs through the story, along with a hot scene and her recurring theme that family is where you make it.

We get to touch base with the other characters from earlier books and get hints about what may be coming next. And, of course, we get a full dose of Taggart grumpiness, most of which had this reader laughing out loud.

For a short story, this little capsule was remarkably complete, but is best read as part of the series so the characters can be better understood. As always it is well written, with great characterization and a charm that only Blake can achieve.

This was a short quick read that I liked a lot. It was good to see Ian all frustrated. The book started off with Ian and Alex helping a childhood who is a producer of a reality tv show the star has a stalker. This short story was well written like all of Lexi's book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

I nearly missed this one. Was checking reading list for the series to be sure I had the correct books lined up when I spotted this title came before the next on MY list. What? Not available on Amazon? Was it in an old newsletter? A quick check led me to the author website where I instantly clicked download, then spent next 30 minutes trying to find where it went on my phone! Thanks to Hubby for the assist! Annoyed with my growling at the phone he took it away and dug around until he located it.

Him: Is this the one?
Me: Yes! Thank you! Ian and Charlie are about to have twin girls and I HAVE to see how he handles it. That man is going to have zero control and he is a Dom of Doms.
Him: (rolls eyes)
Me: Just give me the phone.

This vignette was worth all the trouble! So fun and sweet. Only girls would do to crumble Big Tag's steel walls around his heart. For all his grumbling, he is such a matchmaker! Love how Big Tag makes me laugh.

This is very short but cute. It stays in the theme of the rest of this series. It has a bit of the Ian Taggart drama with a bit of a story with people who need bodyguards but then it gets figured out in an amusing way.

One thing I like about this series, to a point, is that even the short stories adds to the over all value of the story. This is where Ian's pink baby sling is introduced, which then comes into play for the next story. While you don't need this one to enjoy the fact that Ian wears a pink baby sling, this enriches the story to show how he got it.

It is the little details that brings this over all story more fully to life.

Sweet Child O´Mine is a short story in the Masters and Mercenaries Series by Lexi Blake.
Ian Taggart is about to become a father of twins , today. Only he doesn´t know it. It seems like a normal day in McKay-Taggart´s life, nothing special. As if one day could be just normal in this crazy family.
He´s more paranoid than normal and Charlie has her hands full with him.
When a old friend needs help, it takes Ian one look at the suspects and voila, case closed, brilliant.

I greatly enjoyed this quick read and the look in their life. I give 4,5 stars.

So this super short story is just precious! Ian tries so hard to be a bad ass...he just fails (most of the time) miserably at it! I think it is poetic justice that Ms. Blake wrote Ian's story to include him becoming the father to, not one, but TWO daughters. I can just see the meltdowns in his future for the next forty years...and I can't help but chuckle!

This is cute (because babies), funny (in a snarky, sarcastic way), and sweet (because babies and brothers). This is the case almost all throughout but I found myself squirming over the dominance/ submission dialogue. I still don't get that dynamic for crying out loud!

A short and sweet story that shows the family Ian Taggert has build and his sweet babies arrival in to the world.
The family isn’t all about blood bonds but rather emotional bonds.
If you’ve read the series you will like to read this little sweetness too.

This whole short story (you can get it on the author's website) was a hoot. From start to finish. I floved Ian's sarcasm. I floved Charlie. I absolutely freaking ADORED Ian naming his girl.
It was perfect

This was a cute little story about Ian and Charlie meeting the demon girls for the first time. I loved it and just wish it was a little longer.
