Gwen Alexandra does not need a man in her life. Especially not a man who looks like Chris Hemsworth and Joe Manganiello's love child. One wearing leather, riding a Harley, and covered in tattoos.
Gwen can bet every pair of her Manolos that Cade Fletcher is trouble. From the moment she meets him, the attraction sizzles between them. Gwen has a problem when it comes to attractive men in motorcycle clubs. The last one she got involved with almost killed her.
After healing physically, Gwen decides to get a new start in a small town, half a country away from the man who nearly cost her her life. She isn't in town five minutes when she runs into Cade, a man that is too sexy and dangerous for his own good.
She tries to keep away from him, to ignore the attraction between them. But the biker has other ideas, soon she is in way over her head. Her heart, and her life are in danger once again.
Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth, then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.
Because apparently my goal is to make it rain, folks.
Ridiculous, I know.
I just find myself completely unwilling these days to continue to a read book that starts to feel less like fun...and more like a high school reading assignment that requires a book report.
Life's too short. And I'm getting too old for that nonsense.
Anywaste.
There was nothing wrong with this book. At ALL.
...It was just very obvious to me that this author got hit with the Kristen Ashley stick.
HARD.
Talk about making it rain, folks, I was being flooded with chin lifts, "tagging" (the KA way of saying grab), henleys, "babe" overkill, and what felt like an amalgamation of scenes from Kristen Ashley's Greatest Hits album.
In keeping with our high school theme, let's throw out an old school SAT analogy.
This book is to Kristen Ashley...
...as Jane Mansfield was to Marilyn Monroe.
Both beautiful women:
But one is a screen legend that people still write books about...
...And one has been referred to, well, as the poor man's Marilyn Monroe.
Gwen has moved from New Zealand to New York and she's living her dream until she starts dating Jimmy, she's pulled in by his looks and his bad boy image but then she finds herself on the wrong side of him and it nearly costs her her life. She pulls through, barely but can no longer continue to live in New York, too many memories and nightmares so along with her best friend Amy she moves to California for a fresh start but the fresh start comes with a local MC The Sons of Templar and the handsome and impossible to ignore Cade. Firstly this started out really strong and dark and I was hooked and congratulating myself on finding such a great read (silly I know but when I find a good book I'm happy) but then Gwen turns out to be fashion Barbie and now I wasn't so sure. It turns out Gwen's parents are rich her best friend Amy's are richer and they seem so shallow, all cosmos, margaritas and clothes and now I'm left wondering where on earth this book is going. Gwen drives to California but Amy prefers to "drink champagne and read Vogue on her father’s jet.” When they arrive everything is all ready for them, new business, house all perfect even down to the vase of flowers, not what I expected but ok. Now I know Gwen has lived through hell and managed to come out from the other side and I know she's frightened and Amy is nothing if not loyal and protective. But seriously I was cringing at how they spoke to people it was awful and yet I kept reading and I questioned this myself but the start of the book had pulled me straight in and I wanted more of that. Then came the outfit descriptions. Now again I know I seem picky these girls are obsessed by fashion and yes they own a fashion boutique so it's going to feature. After a while getting a full description of every outfit that just about every person wears is just plain weird and it really started to grate on me. You know the episode of Friends where Rachel is making a trifle and the pages stick together and she ends up putting mince beef into it well this book reminded me of that. It’s like the pages of an MC book got stuck to a copy of Vogue and we keep getting the fashion instead of the story. Another thing which got a bit much was that everyone in the town appeared to be model gorgeous, we're talking stunning and it just seemed so unrealistic. While originally I felt a bit sorry for Cade because he was attracted to Gwen he proved he could be rude as well. "I’m speaking now, babe, shut it. Wait till you hear the whole f**king story before you say one more word.” "I’m speakin’, babe.” I know I've been complaining a lot but this is the last one, I promise. Gwen has a short phone call with her brother in which she refers to him by his name five times. Now I don't know if it's just me but it seemed odd. I know I don't use people's names like that in a call, especially not people I'm close to I might use it in greeting and then maybe in closing but no more than that. Like I said maybe this's just me but it didn't seem right. Despite the above I read this book to the end and I'm seriously considering reading the next book 'Firestorm' Amy and Brock intrigued me and I'd like to know what happens between them. And this book kind of found itself towards the end I suddenly realised I'd stopped skimming (mainly the outfit descriptions) and I was enjoying the read and wanted everything to work out.

This book had its highs and lows for me. There were so many moments I really enjoyed and then there were parts where I just wanted to skip? I know this is an older book (2016) so a bit of the dialogue was cringey reading in 2023.
We start this book off with our FMC Gwen being tortured, beaten, and almost raped by her boyfriend and his biker gang. She witnessed a murder she was never supposed to see, and he turned on her so quickly it was scary. Thankfully the cops showed up right before he could rape her, but they were beating and abusing her for too long, she was left broken physically and mentally.
After months of healing and coming out of that horror needing something new and somewhere safe, she moves to California to a small town to open up her own clothing shop. Fate has it though that another biker gang lives in that town and their VP has his eyes on her and claims her as his right of way.
Cade was intense when he was first introduced, he was really serious about having her at his side and making her his. He could tell she was afraid when she was around his biker friends. When she finally told him the truth about what happened to her, he was furious and I knew I KNEW he would do something to her ex-bf who was in prison, I couldn't wait to hear that he was ''accidentally'' killed, and he was.
OM drama: She flirts with a few guys and that is all that happens, and Cade is not having NONE of it and shows off his caveman attitude.
OM drama: His former hookup starts off always causing issues while claiming he was still sleeping with him which he was not. One day Gwen and Case fight about the fact he had her ex killed when she didn't want it, he leaves and ends up at the clubhouse after a party and she walks in his room, he wakes up calm and she tell him she is pregnant which she was planning on doing that before she found out about her ex's death. He is smiling and happy but that is the moment his ex-hook up opens the bathroom door wearing his shirt and Gwen leaves. He never slept with her and never touched her, she snuck into his room when she saw Gwen coming to the clubhouse and wanted to cause massive issues.
During the whole book these two had a lot of push and pull, mainly all from Gwen but when they got together, they seemed solid until of course the drama followed them.
Gwen when she finds him and his ex-hookup in the room, runs out the room and received a call informing her that her older brother was killed in action (he was in the army and was doing his last tour). She is distraught and leaves (goes back to NZ) for months and then spends months not speaking to Cade despite the fact he called everyday (multiple times even) but he only got to speak to her best friend or her parents. He could not follow her as NZ does not allow people with criminal records like his to enter without a court ordered permission. It takes him months to get it, but he gets there, and they talk, and he informs her about what truly happened that night. They get back together and she informs him she would like to return to their town and continue living there.
I should mention that her brother and her best friend had some sort of secret love for each other, and both dealt with issues with him leaving so they ended whatever they had a year prior but when he comes to visit, he and her get together briefly but she is currently also with another biker (not a relationship but developing feelings). So, when the brother announced it was his last tour these two fought again and when he dies her best friend also runs off with her to deal with the loss. I felt like the brother’s death came only because the author did not want to deal with the love triangle for book 2 BUT I was hoping it wouldn't even be a love triangle and the brother would get his HEA doing what he wanted to do AFTER the army was done and move to Cali to open his own security company and that itself could have been a book? Idk.....it felt like an unnecessary additional death and blow to Gwen's life. He was so important to Gwen, and he was just a good guy who deserved to have a life outside of the Army, but he just had to be killed in action and we never find out HOW he died.
A lot of other stuff happens in this book but it's too long to review.
The book ends with Cade proposing and their daughter being born. Obviously, their story is over in terms of their happy ending but there is a lot more to come (especially in book 2).
I don't know if I will read the entire series, but I do want to read book 2 but for now it'll have to wait.

★Review★
I am going to start off by saying, I have read this book 3 times now, the first time I got to about 80% and got a message by the author that it has been revised, finished it and got another message to say it had been pulled from Amazon and was being professionally edited, so I offered to read the edited version and review based on that. And tbh, it was no real hardship reading it 3 times in a short space of time.
So please do bear in mind, if you have read some earlier reviews that mention editing etc, it has now been professionally edited. Not to say I did not notice the odd typo here and there, but only as I was being hyper vigilant in looking out for them, and I have certainly seen the same small typo's/editing issues in Trad published books, so this is a huge improvement over the first copy I read. Would I have noticed them if I had picked this up now, and not as a R2R -probably not. As unless it is really obviously bad enough to pull me out of the story, I tend not to notice punctuation/grammar so much. Just not high on my list of things that can bug me in general. The story flowed well for me here.
It starts of quite graphic, with an attack on Gwen, by her biker boyfriend, and then we move forward a year and while has recovered physically, she has not mentally and decides she needs fresh start away from what happened to her. And on the first day of her fresh start, she bumps into a sexy biker that she has an attraction to. The last thing she needs.
A touch of insta lust, and I do have to agree it does at parts have a very KA feel (although that is not necessarily a bad thing) but I really enjoyed it, loved Gwen and Cade, and it was chock full of secondary characters just crying out for their own book.
And as I say, I read this 3 times, and the 2nd and 3rd times, I was hoping for a certain thing to have magically changed and not happen, but ofc it did, and it just devastated me. Now if a book can make me feel like that, it has to be good.
I did feel like the last 25% the author had found her own voice a bit more, and the book and characters had more depth to them. Anne Malcolm has the potential to be a truly great author.
Overall Opinion: This was actually pretty enjoyable all in all (especially for a free book). I did have issues with the last bit of drama (see cheating spoiler), as well as feeling like I didn't get enough closure. I actually read this because I read the synopsis for the second book in the series, Firestorm, and thought I should read this first. I think I will read the second book, but probably not right away (I like to spread out my mc romances).
Storyline: This is Gwen and Cade's story. Gwen had a traumatic experience with a boyfriend back in NY, and she ends up moving to a small CA town with her best friend to heal and open up a boutique style store. Right away she meets Cade, but she makes assumptions about him automatically, because he is in a mc and her ex was in one as well. She decides that she needs to avoid him at all costs -- no matter how sexy he is or how much sexual tension flies between them. After some push/pull moments, she gives in and they start a relationship where Cade claims her as his 'old lady' right away. There are some great friendships that are made, an unhappy club whore, some visits from family and friends, some ex drama, some mc rival drama, and more...but they eventually get their HFN ending.
POV: This was mainly told in Gwen's POV, but it had a few parts in Cade's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I didn't have any moments that I skimmed because it flowed well, and it had a little bit of instalove going on (or some strong instant feelings at least for Cade) but not to the point that it was off-putting.
H rating: 4 stars. Cade. I really liked how he was so devoted to Gwen, and how he didn't give up when they were separated.
h rating: 3 stars. Gwen. I liked her sassy ways, and she was overall a pretty strong chick.
Sadness level: Low. It covered some heavy themes, but I didn't need any tissues.
Heat level: Moderate/high. I'd say it was had typical mc heat -- where it was a lot, but not too much to take away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM:
Cheating:
Possible Triggers:
Closure: This had pretty good closure, but of course I wanted more. I would call it a HFN ending.
Worth the $?: It is currently free on Amazon...so of course!!
This book started out fairly well and had moments that were entertaining but overall I had too many issues to give it a higher rating.
The biggest issue is that the author repeatedly does one of my biggest pet peeves - has the heroine reference romance books as how she knows the way men act. Oh sweetie, just no. Romance is wonderful but in no way is it real life. The heroine thinks she knows all about how a motorcycle club works because she reads biker romance. No. No you don't. Then the worst part happens and if this book was a paperback it would have hit my wall: the heroine's friend yells out to the heroine (in front of the hero and his biker friends) that she should know the hero is super serious about her because Kristen Ashely taught us that bikers move fast. That's right, we learned how all bikers act in love because of the way Kristen Ashley wrote them. *Face Palm* So it was bad enough that the author was doing a poor imitation of Kristen Ashely's writing style, now she is basically writing that she thinks knows how bikers act because of reading her books. The only thing we are missing here is saying that Sons of Anarchy taught us everything we know about bikers too.
Besides this massively annoying part, the writing was simplistic and the time line skipped all over the place with no transition, not even a new chapter most of the time which made it confusing. The editing needed work too. The characters were not fleshed out well, they didn't seem to have much depth.
However, I think the author can get better. Some parts were entertaining and even kind of funny. I think if she had a good editor and stopped referencing romance books as how she learns things in real life I could actually like her books :)
I love an alpha biker man and Cade fits that bill to a T. It took me awhile to warm upto Gwen as her personality flips between old soul and immature. As the book progressed my opinion changed and by the end I was routing for her. Cade knows what he wants and goes all out to win Gwen over. I loved the mix of passion and drama. Good start to a new series.
I read 8% of this book before I gave up. The structure and editing is so bad it was making my brain hurt. The author doesn't seem to like paragraphs, transitions, correct work usage, basic grammar, correct spelling.... need I go on?
And this is supposedly the updated, corrected version? WTF did it look like in first version?
Look, I love and support self-published authors. Most of the books I read are self-published. But being self-published doesn't excuse you from providing an edited, presentable product for sale. You don't want to polish your work, then offer it for free. By putting a price tag on it, I expect quality editing and presentation. If I'm paying you for a story but I can't even weed through the horrible editing to find said story, I'm going to want my $$ back.
Well....this is gonna be akward. I hate writing reviews about books that didn't really do it for me. However....we can't like them all.
I think the premises for this book was really great and it actually started out really good. I got pulled into the story right away....and then it went downhill for me.
I think the biggest problem I had with this story, was the heroine. I am the first to admit though, that I'm very picky about my heroines. I don't like doormats, whiny or shallow women or wallflowery types. I like the heroines in my books to feisty, independent women, who stand up for themselves. They don't have to be Laura Croft, but they should have a healthy dose of selfrespect.
The heroine in this book started out great, but then she became a bit shallow. She has moved from New Zealand to the States, New York to be precise, because she liked gossip girl and sex and the city. She is also looking for some friends, who are like the ladies from SATC. Which is what she finds in her best friend Amy. Her and her BFF share a great love for margerita's and fashion...
Then, Gwen meets a biker and falls head over heels in love. After witnessing said biker shooting someone, Gwen gets the shit beat out of her by not only him, but his biker brothers. She is found by the cops and brought to the hospital, were she is in a coma for more than a week.
After a year of healing, she is ready to move on with her life and decides moving to a small town in California to start open her own boutique is the way to go. Her parents are stinking rich (as is she), so they buy her the store, while she buys a house for her and her BFF. Her BFF who is even richer than she is, takes care of the decorating......
On the first day she meets, Cade. Now she is a bit skiddish about strange men, which is understandable. Especially man like Cade who give of dangerous vibes. Cade also turns out to be the VP for The Sons of Templar MC.
After what Gwen has been through she wants nothing to do with big scary bikers. This however does nog last long, because cade makes her body feel all sorts of things and she can't seem to think staight when she is so close. Within 2 days she is pretty much convinced that he is a good type of biker that would never hurt her. Sure, she is upset that they deal in weapons, but it's only gonna be for one more year ....WTF ???
She started out so strong and then became another weak heroine, who could only think about her leaking vagina.
Also, every freaking outfit in this book was descriped. We get a full on description of every girls outfit...every single day....
Did I mention the fact that everyone is beautiful in this book. Except for the women who wore eye make up and lipstick at the same time, because they were apparently skanks.....
To me the girls in this book seemed very shallow. All they cared about were clothes and margherita's.
There are also a lot of similarities to KA books. This was sort of a mix between motocycle man, law man, mystery man and rockchicks. It wasn't the same though....
Now don't go skipping this book because I didn't like it as much. Like I said, I'm very hard on the heroines in books and it takes a lot for me to really like one. Which is one of the reasons I started reading a lot of M/M. This is probably a big case of it's me and not the book.
I wasn't impressed, but that doesn't mean I won't give the other books in this series a try.
To be honest I'd like to give this three and half stars, simply for keeping me entertained. The storyline and plot are rock solid with interesting characters. Anne Malcom kept me in stitches with her off the wall dialogue and playful banter which is why I turned a few of them into quotes, they were just too good to ignore; in another scene she had me in tears. So like I said I enjoyed Making the Cut. I feel the author has a lot of potential and plan on keeping a watchful eye on her. So at this point you're saying why the hell only three and half stars.
1. I'm not a grammar major by any means, god knows I make a ton of mistakes with periods and commas and not knowing where to place them. But as a reader those along with sentences structures has to be top notch. I think the author would benefit from a beta or editor because wrong words were placed where they didn't belong, so I'd have to read over them. Example when the author was referring to Cade, she'd called him a her, "Her grey eyes fixed on me. Another example "then carried my to his room. Yes, me should be in that spot, clearly its not.
2. The fixation and description of clothing, it was excessive. Every couple of pages I'd read who was wearing what, how it made them pop. I grew easily bored from reading all that fashion. Every once in awhile would been fine but not within a few pages or a new scene.
3. Repetitive in describing emotions, within the characters.
Yes these were huge issues that was hard to ignore but I really did get a kick out of the story. Its one where you feel the connections and the twists within the plot keeps you guessing. But you be the judge and tell me what you think. Enjoy!
-The Good Kindle Unlimited Kristen Ashley vibe with a love of bikers and decorating. In small doses, it works. Some silly jealousy moments that I eat up like candy Funny moments between Amy and Gwen that set up their friendship nicely Traumatic prologue certainly had me sympathizing with Gwen quickly
-The Bad No real emotional development. It goes from hot sex to love in nothing flat, and I didn’t buy it. Super judgy heroine (even if justified to some extent) isn’t my favorite. Add to that the moments where she runs headlong into danger when she has experienced the kind of violence she has in the past, made no sense. Speaking of sense, Inconsistencies in plot and/or grammatical or typographical errors were glaring and took me out of the moment too often, as well as made it really easy to put it down. Very easy to see plot points coming a mile away
-Everything in Between Sex was ok Cade isn’t a bad hero, just not a particularly compelling one. He felt pretty standard issue possessive alpha. Clear setup for series was telegraphed from page one. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it felt very obvious and less organic to story.
With a premise that had potential, too many inconsistencies and questionable actions by the leads made this more of an ok read than anything else. I’m intrigued with Bull’s story, so I may stick it out and read the rest of the series. Eventually.
*re-read and moving this to a 4 1/2 stars I can't quite decide between a 3 1/2 stars or 4 stars for this one. I really liked the story and easily was sucked in. I loved the characters, and want book 2, however this book needs editing. I see it was revised but this book needs some more editing help. Now I'm not one to stop reading a book because it needs editing usually my brain fixes issues when I read so I can read past a lot however this book has structure and tense issues which was hard to skip. Am I glad I read this book yes, will I read book 2 yes infact I'm putting this author on my watch list. I have been reading a lot of books that I end up skimming parts and I didn't want to with this one. I wanted to read it. When I had things to do and had to put this book down I wanted to pick it right back up again.
After a horrible attack from the man who should have loved her Gwen has healed with the help of some great friends and a wonderful family but the final step is moving. New York was always her dream but after the attack it has held too many memories. Being a buyer for years when Gwen found the perfect place in a little town in California she new she had her store. And her best friend being who she is came with. Finally Gwen feels the the last pieces of the puzzle are fitting together till she see's a unbelievably handsome man offer to help her, which is great except he comes with a cut. Seeing this brings back too much from that horrible night and Gwen knows she has to get this handsome and off limits man gone.
But being in this small town Gwen seems to run into Cade the biker a lot and he seems to want to get to know her better. Soon his MC lifestyle isn't enough of a deterrent for Gwen and she realizes she is stronger than she though and able to be next to Cade without the fear she has lived with, and more importantly wanting to be around Cade. Convincing herself that once she gets him out of her system they can all go back to normal Gwen takes Cade up on his advances but Cade has no desire to get rid of Gwen she is his. When they begin their relationship Gwen knows she will have a lot of loving but concerned friends and family who aren't too happy about her relationship choices. Then her ex makes an appearance and makes his plans for Gwen known and Cade will do anything to keep her safe. But Cade also lives a dangerous life and his enemies have no issue getting even.
I really liked this one I couldn't wait to see what happens in this story, yes the author is obviously a Kristen Ashley fan but I didn't take this book as a KA knock off. I do think it will be fun to see this author come into her own the more she writes and grows, Anne Malcom has a way with story telling that left me excited and wanting more. A lot happens in this book, I actually sat and thought about it all after finishing this book and thought man that a lot but Anne Malcom wrote it in a way that it works. It never felt like over kill or over powering, it was just a good story with a lot going on that made for a really good story, and lets be honest if nothing happens the story will be to boring to finish.
I really liked the characters not only did I love Cade and Gwen and their was a lot to love about Cade, he was possessive, strong, smart, stupid when it came to Gwen(in a good way), devoted, and a great friend. Gwen was a really easy to like heroine yes she was pretty but not eye roll pretty, she was smart and kind. But in this book I liked the side characters as much as the main characters so much so that I never was sad to have more time in this book spent with them. I can't wait for them to all get their own books (and I hope they all do) their is funny, and sad in the side characters and everything in between. Their is just so much potential for future books that I want to read about in the quaint little town. This book through me for some loops again some happy, and some sad but in the end it made for a great book. *After all that I would say a 4 star read for me, yes this book needs editing but the story shines through enough for me.
Gwen Alexandra thought she had met the man for her only to be betrayed by him in the worst possible way. After her wounds heal, she leaves for a small town in California to begin anew with her best friend and open a shop. Gwen has no intentions of getting involved with another bad boy again, but it only takes a few minutes before another one enters her life.
Biker Cade Fletcher knows Gwen will be his, she puts up a few walls along the way but he has every plan to knock each and everyone down. When an outside gang continues to cause trouble and it looks like a threat from Gwen's past is intent on revenge, Cade protects her as best he can.
Loved this one, look forward to more by Anne Malcolm. Strong heroine who is still haunted but she is determined to survive. Loved Cade, he is a hardass but is so determined to love and cherish Gwen it is beautiful. New favorite series.
This book wrenched so many conflicting emotions out of me! The romance is sweet, but Gwen’s past was anything but. Like with so many romance books, there was a little bit of insta-love far too early on in the book, in my opinion, BUT the author made up for this by throwing obstacle after obstacle in Gwen and Cade’s path. I was with Gwen during her highs and lows, and I quickly devoured this book. It’s rare to find a single-POV MC romance, and I loved this approach. We don’t really know what’s going on with the MC, and what kind of illegal activities they’re really up to. That said, I found Cade tended to be a little too back and forth with his emotions, and at those points, it might have been nice to sneak a peek into his head to find out what he was thinking.
I'm a SAHM of 4. I live in yoga pants. I could give two shits about the insane amount of details of the clothing everyone is wearing. About how beautiful everything is. About how beautiful EVERYONE is. Really?! Way too much description on clothing. The fact that everyone is gorgeous is also annoying because none of that is real life. The sex scenes also leave something to be desired.
I tried, but when I'm skimming more than reading it's time to call it.
OK, how and why haven't I discovered this talented author beforehand, lol! I have had this book on my Kindle for quite some time and thankfully I decided on a whim to try it out and wow, was I ever pleasantly surprised!!!!
I loved the writing, the storyline was great, the secondary characters...oh my, I absolutely loved them all, well, of course except for maybe Ginger, hehehehe!!!!! The story flowed seamlessly, it was filled with action, suspense, drama, angst, it had it all and was done to my reading satisfaction!
This book was based on Cade and Gwen. Great hero and heroine, my only minor issues hence my half star deduction was with the heroine and her friend, Amy's "behavior" at times. I say at times because I really did love these girls 99% of the time but I felt the author overdid their characters just a tad bit over the top for me. They both exhibited "childish" and/or rather "spoiled-like" outbursts at times and I almost felt they were sometimes hypocritical as well. OK, rant over and although it truly was a very minor issue for me, unfortunately, both of those characters "behavior" at times was what prevented me from a full 5 stars!
Cade, on the other hand, oh gosh I really loved him. Now he had a few moments that I could have slapped him with my Kindle but all in all, he was sexy, swoon, he was a total alpha and he was pretty close to perfect for me. I loved that I could "feel" his love for Gwen even though he had his moments as well. I could "feel" their connection and was totally invested in the both of them throughout the book! The sex was hot and the relationship believable!
Now, I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on Amy's story and I have a feeling it's going to have a lot more drama and angst so I am prepared to keep a nice glass of wine nearby while reading it, lol!
Author Anne Malcom, congrats, I am now an official fan of yours and I am so excited to read much more of your work!!!!!!
Typical MC book, nothing special and nothing too annoying. Badass dude (yay!) and the chick wasn't awful (though she was a pretty weak character). They were both likable and the plot wasn't too bad.
This said, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. Dunno if that's good or bad but ah well. Happy reading!
DNF I didn’t like the fmc— too much of. Fashionista… I could care less about the gucci, Prada, monopod etc… this is a MCC romance not a Housewives episode .Every facet of the new home was described… idgaf… get with the romance! This ain’t Vogue and Architectural Digest!
I actually really enjoyed this it did take a while to get going but once it did it was very entertaining. The story is told from Gwen’s Pov after she moves to a small town to recover after an incident with her biker ex-boyfriend leaves her in a coma and fighting for her life. Relocating and opening a clothing store in a new town is a fresh start and Gwen’s best friend Amy is along for the ride.
Almost Immediately Gwen comes to the attention of Sons of Templar VP Cade and with no messing, he declares his attention of making her his own. Initially, Gwen is a little resistant due to her traumatic past concerning bikers but their attraction is red hot and it’s not long before she’s falling completely under Cade’s spell. But being Cade’s woman again places her directly in danger as the club find themselves tangling with another MC with Gwen getting caught in the crossfire.
This was an easy read there’s a whole lot of babe and baby labels used here and Cade is a definitely all alpha possessive male. We also get some OW drama but Cade only has eyes for his girl though wires do get crossed. along the way. We also have plenty of passion and danger and some serious heartbreak there are also breadcrumbs dropped for future books. Overall this really was an enjoyable read.
4.5 🌟🌟🌟🌟!!! An amazing hot sexy, suspenseful story!!! I absolutely loved the story of Cade & Gwen, a couple with extreme opposites of life who fight to work their differences to make their relationship work!! I could barely put the book down!
I have been a big fan of Anne Malcom and was so excited to jump into her MC series. Cade and Gwen were fantastic together. She was a sassy spitfire and he was alpha to a T. I loved their chemistry and fire and can't wait for Amy's book!
I really enjoyed! The story is well written and holds the reader's attention. Has very well written scenes and the secondary characters are endearing. I'm dying for the story about Amy. Recommend!
