so. moral of the story. this is just the other book but dumbed down abt forty thousand levels.
it mainly touches on having good thoughts, not worrying, not doubting, and above all being obedient.
overall, i feel like this book was a far cry from the teen one. while i know it’s not supposed to be as in depth, it kinda felt like a sham i’m ngl.
like a ploy to get your kids to obey? idk. it was mainly on how you should act outwardly and not how you should be thinking inwardly, which was strange bc i thought that was the whole premise, mind explaining joyce? 😀
her theology is still wack, there are still verses out of context, she’s still a female pastor (can we not, that’s literally the first rule of being a church overseer or “pastor“. being a MAN with ONE WIFE.)
don’t get me wrong, i’m all for female empowerment, just not when we blatantly disrespect my Lord’s Word. ty oh so very much.
an utter waste of my twenty ish minutes i took to skim all nearly 200 pages and headlines. i read full parts where i thought i should, but rlly, i could just feel icky inside (the classic Holy Spirit alarm going off) it’s THAT bad. 🥴☺️
NOT EVERY BAD THING IN YOUR LIFE IS BC OF DEMONS. sin exists. again the 👏 Holy 👏 Spirit 👏 doesn’t 👏 DO 👏 roommates 👏👏👏
tobymac in my headphones was the only thing keeping me going.
if i have to read another book by this lady i’m going to lose it.
Love using this book with my classroom each year. It gives children easy to understand applications for how to prepare their minds to make wise choices in their pre-teen and teenage futures( that glorify God). This book also gives practical, everyday examples that the children can easily relate to.
Not religious, so take my review with a grain of salt.
I received a copy of this from Goodreads Giveaways, of which, I am grateful. Even though I am not religious, I have found myself reading a lot of religious books - partially out of curiosity and also to identify books to give to family who are religious but think very differently than I do.
The first part of this book made me want to bash my head against a wall. It was a reminder of why I am not religious. The last part didn't seem to bother me as much.
For a Christian youth, this could be a good book. I have not read the adult version that this was based on, so I cannot compare it to that.
1. My opinion of this book is it was very good. It is pretty much a biblical book put in easy terms for kids to understand and enjoy. It definetley is a heart warmer. It speaks awesome words of life. 2.I can relate this book to my because i have a strong faith an tis book pretty much describes my life. Im always learning something new about the lord. This is a happy book like me:) 3.I would reccomend this for every kid! it teaches you 1,000 different things. anytime i need a good tip or advice i flip to a page in this book an it just fills me up with compassion. 4.Conflict- the conflict in this story would be, figuring out your place in this world. The right things to do. Being a child of god. Climax- wold be at the end when your figuring out your purpose in life. Who you are. And what your next step is in life. Heloing others an preaching out!
"Battlefield of the Mind for Kids" is a great book for 3-6 graders. I can see how this book would be useful with children in school. The author provides examples from the Bible in regard to how to deal with today's problems. The flow of the book should make for an easy read allowing the child to focus on the content and the message.
I wish I would have had this information and affirmation as a child. I am stoked to have it to share my my kids. They are a bit young for it but they seem to be into it. How to deal with gossip is just one of the many valuable skills this book offers. Highly recommended!
Can't wait to read it with my 10.5 yr old! I knew she had the version for teens, but did not know she had a version for my daughter's age. How exciting this book will be to share with her and then my son!...
I could see my son's lightbulb go off. He was really getting it. We actually aren't finished but I put it as read and five stars because every chapter so far is perfect and we use it randomly before bed or at meals.
I loved reading these affirmations, with my kids. It deals with everything from depression to peer pressure. It was written a bit choppy, but I did love this book. I may look for the teen version.
Good read with my kids! Reinforced truth and helped them to understand how easily their thoughts & emotions can take the drivers seat, if they allow it. She also gave very practical tools to help develop more control over their thought life and behavior.
This is surprisingly good. The chapters here was totally written, not just amendment on examples. The explanation was slow, full of examples for kids, yet they could learn the value how could they keep their mind in the right place.
Really good, lots of good, inspiring information, and broke down stories of the bible. I'm going into Gr.9 and it was a SUPER easy read. Like maybe Gr.3 level. But it was really good!!
