I'm an indie author who grew up with a love of reading and a very active imagination, never putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard until 2013.

I typically write romantic suspense, as I love stories with some twists and turns. I also love my HEA, although the road to get there is quite the journey.

This was agonizing
description/

I struggled through this book for almost 2 weeks
description/

What was it about? Let’s sum it up with a checklist:

Rich Hero – Check
Hero sleeping with lots of women, but explained from beginning he didn’t want more – Check
Martyr hero ‘I don’t deserve her’ – check
Virgin Heroine - check
Hero with amazing body without working out – check
Lots of undefined tension/conflict – check
Lots of sex, no romance – check
Love at first sight – check
Heroine running away from a conflict without waiting for an explanation – check
Helpless heroine – check
Unexplained overprotectiveness of heroine – check
Hero buying heroine lavish gifts (like an Audi) – check
Everybody wants the Hero and Heroine – check
Heroine with a traumatic past - check

Okay, I think you get the idea. I don’t need to continue with the checklist. I did not enjoy this. I’m glad it’s over.

I read this via Kindle Unlimited

I...am really conflicted with the rating for this one. I picked up 6 books today and attempted to read them...this is the only one I didn't put down. It was good, I was quite intrigued from the very beginning...but the main male character....Alek, IDK! there's just a lot of mystery wrapped around him, and I know it'll be answered in the next book....but for now, hes a mystery and he kind of creeped me out with how much he knew about Sara and how obsessed he was with her safety...but again, I'm sure we will find the reasoning behind that in the next book.

I liked this book, but I also really had no idea what was going on...I'll stick with three stars :) its in the middle, and the middle is good. Looking forward to reading the next book, but its not one I am dying to read. Sad, I know.

Her gasp almost undid me, inhaling a piece of my soul as she swallowed her breath.

Firstly, can we all please take a moment to both appreciate and scowl at the author for ending a book on a freakin' Cliff hanger?! Just when you think you know it all and you're happily smiling at the wonderful way the story "will end" but NO. It seems to have been the perfect opportunity to test our emotional stability.. I mean, why? Why did Addicted have to end like, but more importantly, I NEED the next one ASAP!

Okay I think I'm slowly calming down from this mental breakdown.

I should have been more afraid than I was. I should have been screaming and running for my life. But I wasn't.

Nope, I'm not done just yet..

As the title so deceivingly suggests, the story was a little too addictive. And by that I mean, I had to keep away from socialising or anything other my kindle, my coffee and my Alek induced mindset (hey, don't blame me for only being human in drooling over a fictional character. Yup. That's me in a nutshell..) till I knew I was well and truly finished with this one. And just as I was getting happy that it will all be okay, the freaking ending bites my ass for ever thinking I knew how Addicted would end. Shit. Sigh. Ugh.

"Don't apologize. It's nice to have a conversation with someone when they actually say what they mean."

Okay. Without giving away anything that so desperately wants to leave the tip of my tongue, this was a fast read that will DEFINITELY make you leave a couple free hours or a day just so you can finish it. I'm serious.

Alek + Sara

Brooding, sexy and dominant billionaire of a human meets an almost insecure but without a doubt, strong headed flower shop owner. When you look at it from purely that, it sounds like a fun, great but normal new adult romance read. Oh how wrong you are... ;)

His hair was behaving in that unruly way, looking as if he was constantly running his hands through it. Sexy was what it was. I longed to run my fingers through it, twisting his soft strands around my hand as I pulled him into me. Holy Christ. Get a hold of yourself, woman!

His mere presence ignited my desire. What would happen when he actually touched me?

Alek is instantly attracted to Sara, his protective, caveman instincts light up before his eyes , though he doesn't yet know how fully this effects hits him..

It took everything in me not to scold her for being so careless, drunk enough to go home with a stranger, even if that stranger was me.

In the same way, Sara cannot seem to get her mind to fantasize about anything else... but HIM.

From the moment that they meet, it was just that simple. Yet it wasn't anything but...

Alex is the typical player that has long lost the count of the one night stands that have flown to his charms. That trail of thought is exactly what goes through his mind when he tries so hard to figure out what those feelings for her are or could be. His battle to steer clear of a relationship, doesn't look to be going so well when Sara pops into the picture.

My eyes locked with his almost instantly, the snarl on his face suddenly confusing me. What the hell is his problem? It was then I caught him glancing from me to Matt then back again.

Sara is in some ways the polar opposite of his sex-for-one-night or sex at all type, but rather, she keeps telling herself that she can never or should never want Alek. Her past has killed the trust that she now is yet to find in people.. It's the sad truth, one which I myself can wholeheartedly agree with. With that said, I understood where Sara was coming from. I really did. That small realistic aspect made me love the story even more!

"I had a normal life once upon a time...before I met him. But I won't dwell on the past"

All these internal battles that she faces, those mindsets of not abandoning what she learnt from her mistakes, and life in general, get shot straight to hell every time they see each other. But, I wouldn't say that them finding each would be yet another mistake..

I think they learn to let go of specific parts of their life that for so long, had held them captive to what they want, what they NEED right now. That need can definitely be an addiction to one another. And an addiction that can at any moment, turn any which way.. good or bad. pretty or ugly. With Alek and Sara's relationship, you never really know, and that's exactly what made this such a breath of fresh air type of story.

Yes it has it's similarities when it comes to the bad boy getting the sweet girl but it's how, why and what happens between and within every single word of the story that makes it so breathtakingly good.

His words struck me like lightning. I'd known the man was interested in me but the look he gave me made my body light up from the inside. It was as if he was peering directly into my soul.

I can honestly say, with no surprise whatsoever, that I breathed for every sexy moment of Alek's possessive and demanding side. I did.

Since the very first time I'd laid eyes on her, I knew she was destined to be mine and I would do everything in my power to protect her, even from herself. I knew I came off as intense and overbearing, but I wasn't about to apologize for trying to keep her safe.

I mean seriously?! What girl wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall or inside their own guy's mind if he was thinking like that? Yeah, I thought so. I also can't blame Sara for having every possible dirty thought about Alek's particular set of "skills".. But more than that, they understood each other in more ways than some married couples could ever do. They simply just clicked.

"You're going to undo me," he proclaimed. His words were confusing, their meaning completely lost on me. But I didn't care. All I wanted was for him to devour me, to crush my soul with his passion and need."

One simple aspect that I didn't so much like was at the beginning were it seemed like her trust with Alek was too strong. Despite learning that she lost that trust for people a long time ago, it's just didn't feel right that she so easily let him take her home. But later, once we go deeper into Alek's mindset I completely understood why it happened the way that it did.

There's a story hidden behind her eyes. A dark story. She tried to hide it with smiler and sass, but it was lurking, struggling to break free given the right, or wrong, circumstance.

It also just felt a little rushed. BUT I can't say that I found anything else other than a great, loving sexy story that I will read again. I really can't find any more faults. Nope.

Past mistakes.

Soulful.

ADDICTIVE on another level.

Sweet but sexy.

Bad vs Good.

Temptations.

Trust

Drool worth moments.

Sexy male.

Steamy sex scenes.

Heartbreaking.

Realistic

I can't say any more before I end up spoiling the end, which I am still getting over. If you're looking for a sexy, funny and heartfelt read? Or even a great book in general? You know what to do!

This book was so quotable (as I am sure you could tell by know) and S. Nelson's writing is so unique to what I have come across so far. It's that unexpected way of mixing simple with meaningful. sad with hopeful. sexy with funny. and most of all, fiction with the truth.

Thank you S. Nelson for being able to provide a review copy of such a wonderful book, I can only be grateful and lucky to have stumbled upon your writing!

This book should be called 50 shades bound. As the whole book is a copy of 50 shades of grey and bound to you
Is there a rich man - check.
Is there a virgin girl - check.
Does the girl have problems with the past - check.
Does he save her from a bar when she is drunk - check.
And so on. I was going to give up reading after a couple of chapters, but then thought no give it a chance surely it will be different. But no. I honestly felt I was reading a book I had read before. A copycat book.
Will I be reading the rest of the trilogy. Not in this lifetime.

This may work for you, but it did not work for me. Too much detail. I do not need to know every single detail about the apartment. 2 pages worth of detail!!!

Writing felt a bit amateur. The verbiage between the characters felt awkward. Reactions and responses felt misplaced. The heroine is 26 years old, but reading her inner thoughts, I felt like I was reading a character in a new adult story.

Alek is the hero - Alexa is the BFF. There are a million names to choose from...why choose two names so similar to the characters you are going to mention frequently??

Reviewers were saying that this was a 50 Shades rip off. I am not sure. I did not get far enough in the book to notice or care.

This book will get the lowest rating that I have ever given any book... 0.5 Stars

Honestly the cover caught my attention (Lesson #1 Never judge a book by its cover)
Then I started reading reviews about the book, most of them were shockingly positive (Lesson #2 Never take the word of these reviewers. Ya'll lied about "how good this book is")

What made me finish this book, was the fact that one of the reviewers stated that there was an "epic cliffhanger"

Just to note, there was nothing epic about the cliff hanger! This book was totally predictable from the get go.
The heroine (She doesn't even deserve that title) pissed me off to no end every time she took a breath (figuratively speaking)

The male lead just flopped in my opinion, I don't know what the author tried to do with these characters, but she failed miserably.

I could continue to ramble on and on about how terrible my reading experiencing was, but i'll never finish typing.

I need something to up lift my spirits from this depressing read.
Can't even find the zeal....

Since the synopsis is so good it seems a bit redundant for me to do my usual summary so I'll just give my thoughts.
I really enjoyed this book and I just couldn't read it fast enough.
I read the reviews beforehand and while most are good some are not and I have to say that I agree with most of them in some way.
Firstly the writing, it's not brilliant I have to admit and it felt off at times, the conversations and reactions didn't always seem quite right.
Sara, she's been through so much and she's so strong at times but she didn't always come across as a twenty-six year old woman.
Alex, I loved him but there's obviously a lot more going with him than we realise.
Why with all the names available would the author pick Alek and Alexa for two of the main characters, I know this isn't a major point but it annoyed me.
I know this review seems negative and this book isn't without its faults but as I've said I couldn't read this fast enough and I can't wait to start the next one, I read purely for enjoyment and sometimes it's all about how much you simply enjoy a book and this really, really worked for me.
Now there's also a huge cliffhanger which as a rule I hate but I'd already checked that the rest of this trilogy was available so that wasn't an issue.

Excellent, Amazing, & Wonderful!!!!
S. Nelson creates romance novels that are not typical. With her debut novel Stolen Fate I was drawn in and Redemption got me hooked and now with Addicted Let's say I am now Addicted to her writing style. I love her books.

Sara and Alek are the main characters. Both are hiding something from there past but there attraction to each other is immediate neither ever feeling this way Sara is cautious while Alek trying not to push her before she is ready. She is his she just doesn't know it yet.

Sara moved to Seattle to get away from her past with her best friend Alexa and lands a sweet job. She is actually in the process to buy the florist shop she works at and is so excited. Alek owns half of Seattle! Alek rich and desirable while Sara has what she needs and okay with that. His wealth gets to her not really feeling like she fits into his world. He will get bored and move on but she would stay for the ride however long that lasts.

Things are going good. He is a bit over protective with her safety which irritates her but she goes with it. Alek always gets what he wants. Alek has this way about him that makes her basically weak at the knees. Alek's feelings for her are overwhelming he can't get enough of her and he makes sure she is safe at all times. Her safety is everything to him.

Sara falls ill and let's him take care of her. She knows he loves it. and she likes that in this moment. Thrilled with being with him. She is in awe but what comes next is definitely not something you see coming. Come join Sara and Alek on there journey. I am so excited for this new series. I can't wait until the next one. and I think you will be just as excited.

Definitely a must read and recommended for 18+. You definitely don't want to miss this series.

3.5 rounded to 4 stars - Mostly because I was kept entertained.

I was interested in this book last year, but the third book hadn't come out yet so I put it off. Cliffhangers are annoyance I try to avoid. I got this book on KU so it was kinda a freebie and looksie into the trilogy.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding the characters of this book which keeps the reader invested and keep turning pages. This book is almost like a teaser of the whole story if that makes sense. You don't really know what happened to her; you don't understand what's going on with him. You are just reading their "introduction" and the development of the their relationship, but there isn't much depth because of the secrets they both have and are not sharing.

This has FSOG elements that were a little bit annoying. I try really hard not to compare books, but sometimes they are just so obvious it's hard to look the other way. With that said, that aspect is not what knocked the 1-1.5 star from my rating. Like I said before, this book is a teaser. So.. it's a little short with not much story development to boot. I hate to "judge" writing because I am a horrific writer, but I would say the writing is just "okay".

Now, I was intrigued enough by this book that I bought the second so it was at least a good read and I wanted more of the story.

As I said previously, this does end in a cliffhanger.

Safety/Triggers:
Btw, I read the first two books in this trilogy back to back so I hope I'm not confusing one book for the other.

Sara Hawthorne didn't know what to do when Alek Devera walked into her flower shop one day. She especially didn't know what to do when she woke up next to him a week later. And when she saw him again another week later.

And that's about as far as I got guys. Which is actually about 40% of the book. It was just so boring.

Like, I knew what I was walking into. Within the subsection of romance novels that include alpha male billionaire trilogys, there's not a lot of differentiation in plot, or even the characters. But just because I've seen a character before doesn't mean that I can't enjoy them again.

But, if all of the characters are flat and boring, I'm not going to want to read. There was no heat between the characters at all. The writer just seemed to expect that people would want them together because of how the genre works, but how am I supposed to want two flat characters together?

There's really nothing that I could say about this book, because nothing happened in almost half of it. Even the first meeting between the protagonists was forgettable.

I enjoyed this book, I like how strong, assertive, and dominant Alek is, he shows Sara so much attention and is always trying to take care of her and make sure she is safe. I like Sara, she is sweet, sassy, and a loyal friend. I like reading about their times together, her best friend Alexa seems like she would be a ball of fun to go out partying with, I don't trust Matt completely, I think he does like Sara. I do think it seems like his affection for her is fast but I love how he takes care of her when she is sick, it is so loving. I cannot figure out Alek's connection to her past. My heart is breaking for her and I cannot wait to hear both of their stories from the past.

ZERO STARS

Blatant Fifty Shades rip off, with the exception that Fifty Shades has a plot. Seattle. Virgin. Possessive, controlling, mercurial billionaire. Buys her an AUDI. If you are going to copy the story, at least be original in the details.

I won't get into the writing. Let's just say the author would benefit from a few creative writing courses. The sentence structure is very stilted and sometimes hard to follow. While that normally wouldn't influence my rating of a book, it did set the tone early on by hindering my enjoyment of the book. In reflection, this was strike one for me.

The first 40% or so is just mind numbingly boring. It's her day to day life and although the Prologue introduced us to the "hero" (that termed is used LOOSELY) we still know nothing more about him by halfway through the book than we did on the first page, and neither does the heroine. Their chemistry is non-existent. It was insta-love in full glory and since the characters are so flat to begin with, I had a very hard time connecting to anything. Strike two.

Once I began to pick up on all the similarities between this and "Fifty Shades", well strike three. I'm done. I finished out the last 50 pages or so, simply skimming to refrain from reading the mundane, and to see what this "EPIC" cliffhanger was. Predictable is what it turned out to be.

Recommended for no one.

"Kicking off my own shoes, I worked the fabric down my muscular thighs before kicking them to the side, as well. Her eyes hungrily drank me in, the sight of me causing her to blush again."

Now this is Alek speaking, he can't possible know this and that was the general flow of this novel. I had to keep checking to ensure the POVs had switched as it felt as though the story was being told by a bunch of teenagers, specifically a teenage girl.

It has no real rhyme or reason and I can't believe I read an entire novel where both characters are hiding creepy things and still not know what they are. They also kept on shouting a lot, for what I don't know and it didn't help matters that she was one of those insta-wet virgins while he kept popping up everywhere like a bad nightmare.

I don't know or understand them as individuals or a couple. Everyone in that novel to be honest is an enigma. From the potentially gay friend/employee, to the bff & come to think of it, does he not have friends?

Still, they got my attention for the most part, because they were an open set of characters who seem like they might have a good story on the fringes and though it was short and to the point, I just wish it all made sense.

Addicted turned out to be quite a mysterious read for me. I knew there would be romance and sizzle, but the amount of intrigue and hidden puzzle pieces of the story came a bit unexpectedly.

With this being my first book from this author, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. I loved the writing style. The story had a nice and easy flow. Once I began, I quickly became Addicted to the characters and to finding out the path their lives were taking and the different roles everyone played in Sara’s life.

Sara is ambitious in the business sense, but seems cautious and pretty reserved in everyday life. Alek has a dominating presence. He wants, he gets. He is also very overprotective and outright demanding which annoyed me at times. However, once I reached the evil cliffhanger, I was feeling that he may have good reason for being that way when it comes to Sara.

I’m very anxious to see where this storyline is headed. I have my suspicions, so it will be interesting to see if I have fit a few puzzle pieces together already.

Bring on Volume Two!

Addicted (Addicted Trilogy Book 1)
By S. Nelson
And the cards come tumbling down - all is not as it seems

Sara is running away from her past. She decided to move to a new city with a new beginning and her best friend Alexia. She has a wonderful set of friends and a great job with the potential of owning her own business, things are looking up. Then she meets Alek by chance in her florist shop – but is it a chance meeting?
What can I say, rich man who is so used to getting what he wants and then he meets Sara. He becomes addicted to her, or so we are convinced to believe – but is it really that? Alek is dominant, possessive almost to the extreme where you want to smack him for Sara. You know Alek is hiding something but you are unsure what. At the same he is hell bent on protecting her – what or who is he protecting her from.
He needs to tell her something but does not get the chance – instead the cards come tumbling down and you are left with a cliff-hanger.
Can’t wait to read what Alek is hiding, bring on the next book.

Perfection for relaxation

I stumbled across this book when buying another for my collection on my kindle. I thought I’d give it a try it gave me a fifty shades vibes from reading the reviews and looking at the cover.

It is nothing like fifty shades, it is so much better I believe. I love that this first book views it from both Sara and Alek point of view it kept me on edge after every chapter and I’ve just finished this tonight and now I want to know more as it leaves you on a good cliffhanger!!! Currently downloading Shattered as I type this. It is the perfect book to help anyone with relaxing after a long day.

Highly recommend this book I’ve enjoyed it so much.

received in exchange for a honest review.

I am on the fence here. The story is fascinating. Some aspects freaky with the ending and Alek with his mysterious ways but overall interesting.I think Alek’s sister has something to do with Sara’s past that we aren’t privy to yet that holds her back and Alek’s stuff in his closet that freaks Sara out.

The writing is strong and some of the characters are endearing Sara I am on the fence about. She is strong at times but irritating as well. She can be fun and sweet but stubborn and irritating to. Alek is sweet and protective but you wonder why.Why is he overprotective? What happened to his sister? Does she have something to do with his actions?

The story is about Alek and Sara. Sara moves to Seattle when trying to run from her past. A past that haunts her and I really believed is tied to Alek’s sister. Aleks pull towards Sara is mind boggling. What pulls him to her? Why is he so fascinated by her? We really have this as a mystery? She is sassy to him he is amused. She is argumentative, he smiles. She yells at him and pushes him away he finds it cute. It’s mind boggling and sweet at the same time.

Their coming together is a smathering of hot and cool. He is hot and she can be rather cool in her actions. When he is in control wowza. How they came about is interesting but the ending will really blow your mind. Really she doesn’t let anyone talk she let’s emotions take over and this can be bad. I hope she does settle down and we get to get more of a background of Alek and Sara. What happened to sara? Why did Alek do what he did? And what is it about Sara that now has Alek wanting to settle down with someone? What happened to Alek’s sister and how is she tied to Sara?

The book and the romance is nicely written and keeps you reading. The book is a nice quick read with quirks and twists and turns that will have you have the jaw to the ground.

Wonderful story

This book... wow.. I was pulled in from the beginning and the suspense of wanting to know what has happened to Sara in the past and who Alek is had me reading and reading. I couldn't put this book down.

Sara moved to Seattle with he Brest friend Alexa to get away from her past. She's working at some florist shop and trying to get some loan to buy it from the owner who is ready to retire. Alek owns pretty much half of Seattle is rich gorgeous and even a little over possessive of Sara right from the first time they met. Things between them progress and are going great. Sara falls ill and Alek wants and does take care of her. After her sickness she finds something in his closet that has her questioning everything. Y her,who is this man, she needs to get out of his house.

The end of this book will leave you wanting more. Can't wait to get my hands on book 2 and see if some questions have been answered and what is going on.

Alek and Sara

I wished you could just write on review for all three books but since you can't , here goes! Absolutely
loved the books , this was my first taste of this author. I just admit she is a fantastic story teller. I was so involved in the story I didn't want to stop reading it. Alek is a man who is absolutely addicted to Sara because he wants to make sure she is never harmed again. She was kidnapped eight years prior to their meeting , he accidentally met her grandmother in a hospital room, she thought he was her brother and ask him to watch over Sara and that's where story takes off. Recommend this book 5Stars

Sara meets Alek at work only to meet him again and again. He is attracted to her as she is to him, having had a really bad experience she has run away from to live in Seattle we don't know really what her past is but its hard to believe she has met her prince charming, he is so caring and cautious of her, well written and can't wait for the next part to this series, recommend you put this book on your TBR list, Cheers

MYSTERIOUS

This is an interesting story with mystery and romance. Alek always seems to be where Sara goes clubbing with her friends. He is a mega-rich playboy bachelor so while Sara is intrigued, she can’t fathom why he is interested in her. He could have any woman but he wants her. Then, Sara discovers Alek’s secret and she runs!

I suspected there was a hidden agenda but I can’t begin to guess what it is! I love a book that makes me think.

Loved It!

I loved everything about this story. It held my attention from beginning to end, and while a lot of stories are predictable, this one is not. The ending leaves readers with several questions, and I'm excited to continue the series.

Awesomeness

Very easy to follow. S. Nelson kept you reading, not wanting to put the book down. All good reads must come to an end. It ended, left me hungry for more. Can't wait to read the next.
