This book does a poor job of explaining of the various Geography terms and does not really help students understand the overall picture of what Geography is really about. It does a poor job of explaining the material in away that students can clearly understand.

This book clearly explained the various elements of geosystems, provided lots of examples, problems, and graphics, and was generally easy to use and understand.

Tedious at times, but it does a really good job at covering the basics of geosystems. If you enjoy geology.... this text makes it pretty easy to grasp.

Thorough

I learned quite a bit from this textbook. Easy to consume information with plenty of pictures and diagrams. Good luck!

Unlike many of the "advanced" texts I worked with at Columbia, this provides a very basic background for a person with little to no experience in environmental science or geography. For a person like me with some background, it is a great review and outlines concepts in a way that makes sense. Comes with a CD-ROM (which includes mini-quizzes) that is a great review tool for when you are tired of staring at pages and pages of text.
