Catch #2

Catch and Release

Rate this book
Love endures all things.

Darby McKenzie’s heart started beating funny the day that she met Trace Chamberlain. She was four, he was five, and that meeting altered the course of both their lives forever.

Trace was born into a nightmare. Before meeting Darby and her family, the only love he ever knew was that of his twin brother. The two of them endured years of abuse that left scars. The permanent kind.

For Trace, meeting Darby was like catching a rainbow. She exploded into his life in a pop of Technicolor that awakened his senses. She wasn’t just his best friend—she was his life. His touchstone, his safety, his heart—she was everything.

Darby had been through it all with Trace and her love for him never wavered for a second. But no amount of love could make Trace believe that he was worthy of her. Knowing that she deserved better, Trace pushed her away, when what he really wanted was to pull her closer. Emotionally destroyed and bitter from the back and forth, Darby finally let go and decided to move on.

Sometimes hitting rock bottom is the only way to understand that you need to change. Realizing that losing Darby means losing everything, Trace knew it was time to man up and fight for the girl he loved.

Is it too late for Darby and Trace to have a happily ever after?

**Content This isn't a book about an Alpha male. In fact, the Hero in this story isn't Trace, it's Darby. If the idea of the female being the strong one bothers you, this isn't your kind of book.**

I fucking loved this story...I really enjoyed Catch My Fall and Mia and Tristan's story, but this one? It slayed me, and had me falling so hard for the quietly broken boy turned man Trace. Some may hate on how he punished himself and might see it as a "deal-breaker" to what some need to be "safe" stories out there. Sometimes life isn't "safe" it isn't "comfortable" filled with daisies and unicorns; it's dirty...raw...and has the power to break a young boy before he finds the strength to know how much he is loved and worth.

Darby never faltered in her love and complete devotion to Trace. She knew when she locked eyes with the clean-cut, polite boy in his khakis and polo shirt that her life would never be the same. He held her future and she would climb any and all walls that he put up to keep her out. Broken and battered she held on to her faith in him like it was her life-line. Even when he ran away, "malored" himself around, she stood firm in her belief that they were made for each other. Her strength was inspiring and never made me feel like she was weak or less for staying.

The emotional ride this book took me on was amazing, I devoured it! Love catching up with this crew.

We all heard the saying that "love isn't finding someone you can live with, it's finding someone you can't live without." But what happens when the person you fall for isn't ready to catch you just yet? Do you let go and give up when the person you love is drowning in pain and hurt? If love is worth fighting for, can love be the answer? Is it enough to heal the invisible and visible scars? And when your heart is on the line, are you ready to trust that person to catch your fall?

#1catchR

Catch and Release by Ella Fox is not about a story of prince charming coming to the rescue of a damsel in distress. Instead it's a story of a woman who is willing to stand by the man she loves and ready to catch his fall. A woman whose love for a man that has withstood heartache, pain and loss. A woman who didn't see a broken man but a man who just needed someone to bring sunshine, rainbows, and love back into his heart. A woman who showed that true love is about accepting all the scars and to not be ashamed of them. A book that reminds us all that true love is finding that person, who is willing to kiss every scar that has been buried in your heart and love you for who are. So can Darby McKenzie be strong enough to fight for both of them?

If you are a fan of best friends to lover romance stories, then this book might be for you. But what makes this book special is that Ms. Fox allowed her readers to feel the emotional pain of Trace Chamberlain as he battles the inner storms of his heart and past. Ms. Fox douses her readers with so many emotions that it makes you feel an emotional connection with Trace and Darby as they fight for their love. What I really loved about this book is that Ms. Fox reminds us all that sometimes we truly have to hit rock bottom to scare us into seeing what we could lose....and for Trace, his rock bottom was knowing that he could lose the best thing in his life...Darby.

So if you want a book to pull all the heartstrings and take you on journey of love and healing, then I would recommend you to read Catch and Release by Ella Fox.

3 ish stars for the heroine! Liked Darby. She's a strong chick who has a big heart. She was beyond patient and forgiving. Trace frustrated me for most of this read. I got that he had issues, but still ticked me off. His actions hurt Darby in so many ways that I had a difficult time connecting with his character. Overall, a well written, fast paced read. But be warned, the hero is with other women.

3.5 stars!! I did enjoy this book but after the ending of book 1 I felt that that should have been addressed sooner than rather right at the end of book 2. It was great to see how they all became friends and the development of the friends to lovers, while infuriating at times I could understand and my heart broke for those boys. (full review to come)

Hero Trace, constantly sleeps with other women well past half the book. The h actually comes to talk to him and he is in bed with 2 women. She makes the brother swear not to tell him she saw him. Why? He never knew she saw. I think that was messed up. She kept going back for more. He constantly had other girls for sex. She had to hear about it from the girls all the time. Doormat. And he was in love with her but wanted to stay away because she was better??? That excuse is so old and played out. He keeps going back and doesn’t want her with anyone, stalks her on prom night and then what?!? He’s an asshole. He finally gets more therapy from the church or whatever and she forgives him. Girl... just.... who gets past seeing him in bed with 2 gets girls? HEA and years out epilogue. He says he never comes with any other girl but he is punishing himself for who he is. Turns out everything he believed about his past is a lie and there is nothing wrong with him other than being an ASSHOLE!

This is one of those books that leave you with a smile on your face. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this book.
This is the story of Trace and Darby. This is a story with a twist. If you are tired of books where the male character is the hero and the brave one, then look no more. Catch & Release will make up for all those weak heroines most of us are tired reading about.
Darby has a happy family. Her parents love her. She is extremely close to her brother Austin. She is not girly; she is a tomboy and she enjoys it.
When her family moves to a different house, she is disappointed. Her mood is quickly altered when she meets the twins from across the street.

Tristan and Trace are two sad boys. Their life is governed by their strict grandmother. Darby doesn't know that the twins are hiding a terrible secret. She doesn't know how hard their lives are. She is not aware of the terrors they experience every day...The years pass and the bond between Trace, Tristan, Darby and Austin gets stronger. The two twins are still trapped in their grandmother's hell...Until Darby's parents decide to step in and help the two teenagers.
But Darby is growing up and her feelings start to change. Trace is a tortured young man who cannot seem to forget his awful life and when he realizes Darby has developed feelings for him, he wants to stay out of her life; he wants to save her by keeping his distance. But the question is, can he?

Will love winn or will Trace always feel too little for Darby's heart?
I loved the writing style. The story gripped me from the first page and the emotions were so real that I couldn't help but connect with the characters. I haven't read the first book but now I want to!
The chemistry between Trace & Darby was tangible even through my Kindle! Amazing. The book is heavily loaded with emotions because the characters have to face real, heavy issues. There is darkness but there is light at the end of the tunnel! There are ups and downs but that's life. I loved how realistic the book was. I totally recommend it to every lover of romance. Excellent work!
4.5 Stars from me!

LOVED this story. Catch My Fall has been my favourite Ella Fox book to date, but this story has bumped it down to # 2.

I have been excitedly waiting for this follow-up book since 2013 and I pretty much one-clicked this as soon as I saw the release posted on Facebook. Ella didn't disappoint.

Darby and Trace's story was a very emotional read for me. I couldn't put it down.

Ella can write a tragic back story for her characters like no one else. I found myself on the verge of tears reading about Trace and Tristan as young children. The McKenzies were my heroes. I love the bond that Anna and Robert had with the boys.

I was pleasantly surprised that most of the book took place prior to Catch My Fall. Typically, stories that have overlapping plots, such as one point of view in one book and the other character's point of view for the next, I often get bored. Though I already knew and loved Darby and Trace from the first book, this was their unique journey.

This one was worth the wait!

Review by Lisa Kane

This is a great follow up to Catch My Fall. That story was about Tristan and Mia's romance. This is Darby and Trace's story. Trace and Tristan Chamberlain; twin brothers, spent the first years of their lives suffering from the abuse of their grandmother. A religious zealot, she told them repeatedly that they were the devil's spawn. Over and over she told them their mother, her own daughter Lynette had been raped and they were the result of that rape. Their mother could not stand to look at them and she left them to the care of their grandmother.

Their lives changed forever when Darby, her brother Austin and her parents Anna and Robert and moved into town. Darby and Austin became instant friends with the twins and showed them a life they had never known. Their parents thought of these kids as their own family and became very protective of their care.

Darby and Trace felt an instant connection in spite of the few years age difference between them. Trace never thought about her as Austin's pain in the butt little sister. As they got older, her brother Austin, Trace and Tristan caught the eye of just about every female in their vicinity and they all reaped the benefits. Darby hated knowing Trace had sex with so many girls, but he made it known that they meant nothing to him. (Unlike Tristan and Austin, Trace used sex as a way to punish himself. (a result of his low self esteem due to his mother's abandonment and his grandmother's rants)

I thought that living with my grandmother had been the worst thing ever, but keeping myself from touching Darby had been worse in a different way. Every single day she grew more beautiful, and it was a huge problem. I woke up sporting full wood each morning and every night I went to bed with a raging hard on-and she was always the reason. Darby was the rock star of every wet dream I ever had.
There were other things I did that didn't result in coming. Those things included getting head from most of the girls my age within a ten-mile radius and f#*king almost as many of them. It was my way of trying to keep my sin in check.

Trace has deep feelings for Darby but he can't seem to stop his whorish ways. The older Darby gets, the more confusing things become between these two. When Tristan meets Mia he stops playing around and things revolve around her. Trace's demons are much deeper and in spite of loving Darby, he takes the stance of more of a big brother than a romantic partner. But there comes a time when Darby is too much of a temptation and the two make love. But a scare convinces Trace he needs to leave Darby alone. He will never be the type of man she needs-being a husband and father is not in the cards for him.

"None of that matters, Darby. You know they don't mean a damn thing."
She didn't back down. "I didn't ask for excuses. I asked for a number. How many?"
"I'm not answering that," I said desperately. "It doesn't matter."
"You promised me you would never, ever lie to me. You said that if I asked, you would tell me. I've put up with this shit for years like a bitch, waiting and praying that you would love me enough to change. I never asked, never tried to put you on the spot. Now, I'm asking you. How.F#*king. Many?"

Darby tries to get over Trace, but in spite of what her head tells her she needs to do, her heart can not be swayed. Trace has ruined her for any other man, but how long can she keep letting him hurt her? Is Trace really willing to let Darby go, and risk the possibility that another man may replace him?

"I've learned that there are a million ways to hurt yourself. Cutting, alcohol, drugs, sex, shoplifting, and even food-each and every one of those things can turn into a prison."

I loved the angst in this book. Both Trace and Darby frustrated the hell out of me, but it's the good kind of frustration, knowing that eventually one or the other, or both will realize they would rather hurt together than to hurt alone. Ella Fox has kept the same level of steam with this one as she did the first. Loved this book!

"You're all that I've ever wanted. I love you so much that it hurts to breathe when you aren't here. I swear to you on everything I hold dear that I'm going to be the man you need, baby."

Ella Fox is one of my go to authors, and she never disappoints. Catch and Release is book 2 in the Catch Series. Book 1 Catch and Fall was about Tristan and Mia. Catch and Release is about Tristan's twin brother Trace and Darby.

You see them in book 1, and know about some of the problem Trace and Darby have, but in this book it takes you right back to the beginning to where the problems stem from. You get to see how They all met as kids.

Trace and Tristan's story is truly heartbreaking. How can someone be so cruel. You knew their Grandmother was evil, but in this book you find out just how evil she was. It makes you realise why Trace acts how he does. I Love Trace that boy broke my heart. Tristan seems to have handled it better than Trace. He thinks by treating Darby the way he does he is saving her from himself, because she deserves better.

Thank god for Darby and Austin's parents Robert and Anna, I love these 2 for how much they loved Trace and Tristan and the Love they showed them.

I think this Ella's best book yet, it was beautiful but heart breaking, and kept me gripped from page 1. Ella's writing always captivates me,

5 MASSIVE STARS!! A MUST READ!!

He laughed then, shaking his head at me like I didn't understand. "Because I never touched you to hurt myself. You were my reward. You've always been the best part of my life Darby. You're the exception to every rule. If it weren't for you I'd still be in a corner somewhere cutting myself. Whenever we were together, I did it because I love you. But when the pregnancy scares happened...those were both very low points for me. I really believed that I was going to infect you with evil. I thought god was punishing me to show me how much he hated me."

Today I'm trying something a little different with this review. My review is supposed to be for Catch and Release by Ella Fox. But I'm sorry, you can't read Catch and Release without reading Catch My Fall first. No really, I'm telling you, it's completely important that you read them both. If you don't, you will not have the whole picture of Trace and Tristan Chamberlain and I just can't have that.

Trace and Tristan Chamberlain are quite possibly the sexiest book boyfriend twins I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. The are beyond beautiful with dark hair and green eyes. Yes, you know it! Green eyes get me every time!! And holy hell! Their bodies are as sexy as sin. They work at a gym teaching self defense classes. No only hot and fit but they do know how to make a girl feel very good. Of course in supreme manwhore or malore (as Darby puts it) fashion, both boys make many, many girls feel good. That is of course until they meet the right girls and then they are even more perfect.

Tristan and Trace have been dealt a very rough hand in life. Raised by a grandmother who is a rigid cow, our poor boys never knew what it was like to be loved. Thankfully, when they were five years old the McKenzie family moved onto their block. Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie treated the boys as if they were their own. The twins made a best friend in Austin and Trace found the love of his life in Darby.

Trace and Tristan are two boys who are very damaged from an early age. The story of how they came to be raised by their grandmother is heartbreaking. As little boys, they act a lot like tiny grown ups. From the way they dress, to their impeccable manners, to the way they clean their house for their awful grandmother they are like little men.

Catch and Release is Trace and Darby's story and yes the two of them have literally been the loves of each others lives since they were children. Only as much as Trace adores Darby, every time they got close, Trace would back away. He doesn't believe he's good enough for her. He thinks she deserves better. What he doesn't realize is all Darby wants is Trace. She sees the good in him when he only sees that he's not good enough.

Darby is determined to have Trace and seduces him one night. Obviously, Trace has already lost his virginity, but Darby loses hers to Trace. For the first time ever during sex Trace feels something. With other girls he uses sex to punish himself, to feel nothing. With Darby it's amazing and he knows it's because he's in love with her.

Because he has such a horrible opinion of himself, Trace can't commit to Darby. He still manwhores it up and every time he does, it breaks Darby more and more. There even comes a time Darby breaks all contact with Trace. It kills both of them. They really can't live without each other.

Can Trace learn that he deserves love and be the man Darby knows he can be? Can Darby forgive all of Trace's indiscretions? One thing is for sure. These two love each other with every fiber of their being.

So if Catch and Release is Trace's story, or course Catch My Fall is Tristan's story. Even though Trace and Tristan had the same horrible upbringing Tristan's views on love are a little different. Don't get me wrong, he still manwhores it up in Catch My Fall, but he also meets Mia Reeves. From the day he sees her in class, he tells himself that she's his girl. Well his girl is not having any part of flirty ways. Thank goodness Tristan doesn't give up easily because Mia is a tough nut to crack.

It happens that Mia is just as damaged as the boys are. It takes a while into the story to learn what happened to her and when you do, it's devastating and heartbreaking.

As much as Mia wants to avoid Tristan she really can't. Mia is Darby's roommate at college and obviously Darby is very close to the boys. As frightened as she is of getting close to any boy, Mia can't help but be attracted to Tristan. He's beautiful and he's super persistent in his quest to win Mia as a girlfriend.

Girlfriend is a concept that is foreign to both brothers. But Tristan is ready to take that jump with Mia. Through Tristan's patience and persistence he and Mia begin a friendship that turns into something more.

When their relationship takes a turn for the physical it's just so damn sexy. For as experienced as Tristan is, he never forces anything on Mia. He adores her and cherishes her. He makes Mia's first time amazing.

Unfortunately, even though you get the feeling Tristan is more able to put his past behind him than his brother, when Mia confesses the trauma of the assault she experienced to Tristan he runs and tells her to forget about him (you'll find out why and it'll break your heart).

The Chamberlain twins are sexy alpha males who are fiercely protective of the women they love and that is just uber hot. You'll see just how protective they can be when Mia's louse of a father and stepbrother show up at their house.

I love both of these books and I adore the Chamberlain twins. I honestly don't think I could choose one over the other because they are both male perfection at it's best. There's enough angst and twists and turns in these two books to keep everything interesting, but not too distressing.

The females in these books are super strong as well. As college roommates they become fast friends. Darby has loved Trace unconditionally her whole life. She's willing to give him everything until it becomes too much for her. Essentially, she is Trace's rock. He depends on her for everything. Mia has been supremely damaged by a horrible assault, but she doesn't give up. She may be cautious and skittish, but she doesn't let what happened to her define her.

A four lip smack review for Catch and Release and Catch My Fall. Read them both!! You'll fall in love with the Chamberlain twins I promise.

Wow! This book was AMAZING! It is by far my favorite book written by Ella Fox. I loved the female lead, Darby. Even from when she's a little tike, you see that she's strong and full of spunk! When she's four she meets her new neighbors, Trace & Tristan. From very early on, you know that something is just not right with that family. Trace & Tristan are being raised by their Grandmother and they suffer great verbal & physical abuse while in her home. But they find an oasis with Darby's family, who treat them well. Darby & her brother Austin are inseparable from Trace & Tristan & we see their relationships deeply develop. The book moves around a bit from the beginning. You see "3 years later", "4 years later", etc. But it is just the right amount of time to move the story forward & to see the characters fully develop. This book reminds us that sometimes you really have to hit the very bottom and see what you have to lose, before you realize what you already had. Ella Fox takes us through a roller coaster of emotions and creates gut wrenching, emotional read. Bravo!!!

4.5 stars. I loved Darby and Trace's story. This story takes us back to the very beginning when Austin and Darby first meet Trace and Tristan. I was tearing up one page and laughing the next. Darby sure was a force to be reckoned with. I wanted to slap Trace so many times in this book hoping he'd get his head out of the place it didn't belong. Darby knew Trace was it for her . This was a great story.

I had to read this second book because Darby and Trace were such a large part of the first book. The first book ended with Senator Gibson and that whole bit did not have really need to be included. It was trying to be the draw to second book and when I read almost to the end where Senator Gibson comes in and stays approximately one brief chapter....rip off!!

Nonetheless, I loved all the characters. Grandma is living in hell , poor thing. Her character was nasty. Robert and Anna were the good and grandma, the evil. They both attended the same church. I think that shows us that Good does offer good around us when we are suffering. God is good. The twins were blessed with Robert and Anna for sure!! Reach out to those suffering when you can.

5 Amazing Stars for a story that Catches you from page one!!!!

And it will not release you til the very last page of the epilogue! I loved every single minute of this story. I fell so hard for the Chamberlain twins in Catch My Fall and have been waiting for this book since I finished that one. The wait was so worth it for the story we were given. Ella Fox has never disappointed me and this book was no exception!

We are brought back to the very beginning when Trace and Tristian first meet the McKenzies and it was absolutely awesome! We get to see them as little kids, we get to see and feel their pain, we are made to understand why as men they are the way they are. So many times you read a story and are told our hero is broken and you get bits and pieces and just accept it, but here we get to live it with them and as sad as it was, I feel like it was a necessary evil. As mad as I got at Trace at different points, I totally got it, after the years of abuse he received it all made sense and in true Ella Fox fashion she keeps it so real throughout the whole story. You will find yourself hating the bad, but seeing that there really is good in the world too.

Our leading lady, Darby, is one hell of a spitfire and I absolutely loved her! She is fiercely loyal to Trace and loves him with every fiber of her being. She totally understands her man and knows what he needs better than he does. She suffers from his actions but she never backs down. She fights for him until the very end.

In spite of his awful childhood, Trace truly is a beautiful person. His love for Darby is palpable and it scares the ever-loving shit out of him. I found myself wishing I could just reach into my ipad and give him a hug and tell him everything was going to be okay. It truly is wonderful when he overcomes his fear and has that ahah moment.

When these two are finally brought together it is absolute perfection!!! I loved everything about the ending, except for the fact that it was over. I am going to sleep tonight with a happy heart and feeling like there is hope in the world when the right people are brought into your life. Thank you for a beautiful story, Ms. Fox.

After reading Catch My Fall, I thought I was prepared to read Catch and Release. Boy was I surprised! We finally see what Trace and Tristan went through as children. How awful their grandmother was to them and how poorly they were treated. These two men have grown into such amazing men after the horrendous childhood they've endured. As we know, Trace has more emotional problems than Tristan has ever had. Trace keeps pushing Darby away, Darby is the only woman that Trace has ever cared about and we never really why he's pushing her away until reading Catch and Release.

"You're the only girl that's ever mattered, and you're the only one that ever will."

This series is Amazing. It just keeps getting better and better! I hated Trace so much in Catch My Fall, but once I started reading this, all the pieces fit together like a puzzle. I couldn't love Trace anymore than I do now and I have a newfound love for him.

"Even then, I knew that I wanted to kiss her every single day for the rest of my life."

"I love every part of you"

"Scars and all"

Without giving anything else away, I can't say enough wonderful things about Catch and Release other than to buy it now while it's on sale. While this can be read as a stand alone, you won't get the full effect unless you read Catch My Fall first. I think my favorite part was of course the epilogue! I'm a huge fan of all of Ms. Fox's books and while I do love the smutty reads she puts out, The Catch Series is more of an emotional roller coaster that is sometimes called Life. While there are some sexy times, don't expect many like her other books. This one is more heartfelt and gut-wrenching, trust me you will not be able to put it down once you start. As usual, there are definitely some twists that will leave you thinking "Hey what just happened?".

I received an ARC for this book in exchange of an honest review, which is an easy task when you love a book…

I had been waiting for this book to come out for more than a year, so my expectations were high when I started reading it. Well, I can say this books was all that I expected and more!!

I loved both characters, they are part of my life now. I feel like I grew up with them through the pages. I felt Darby's personality, beauty, and strength as if it were my own. I suffered along Trace and Tristan since the epilogue. My emotions were everywhere…I loved, laughed, suffered and experienced murdering anger (really wanting to kill Hazel and Lynnette).

You can identify a good book when you don't want the story to end, ever!!! This is what happened to me with Catch & Released. I was not able to put the book down. This is not just a love story, it is a life story. Ella accomplished to pull me into the book at the point of feeling I was in the same room as Darby and Trace.

I am not ready to say goodbye to Darby, Mia, Tristan and Trace yet :( I need more Catch Series books please!

For those of you who have read Catch My Fall, the second book of the series brings more depth into the twins' characters and personalities, complementing the first book perfectly. For those who have not read Catch My Fall or Catch & Release, I recommend buying both books ASAP. Be aware that you might want to clear your day of any other activity you had planned when you pick up the book…

I am pretty sure I fall in love with Ella Fox a little more with every book. Catch and Release, DELIVERS! The ability Ella has to take very relevant, real life situations, and portray them in a fictional book is spot on. I feel each character's pain and struggle. Trace and Darby’s struggle was so real, the pain, passion, anger, jealousy, ALL OF IT.

Catch and Release, gives you the background to where Trace and Tristan came from and all they endured. The torment that threatened to pull these boys under, especially Trace, was all-consuming. Darby, Austin and their parents were a godsend to Trace and Tristan Chamberlain. Darby is strength; she is who she is, and a heart the size of an elephant. She has enough love in her heart to help and heal the wounds. It is great to read a female lead that “takes no prisoners” and hangs on, even by a thread at times, for the person she loves. At times Trace could not fight against his own demons and Darby is the feisty redhead who pulls him from the depths of his own personal hell.

This book was such an emotional read, and so poignant. Whenever I read Ella I feel like she is writing the story of a very dear friend or relative. Either way you know Ella portrays characters that have a message and regardless of the depth of the tragedy she gives her all. This book tugged at my heart and I actually hugged my iPad when I finished.

I love books where the author takes the time to explain the psychology behind a character's motives. Catch and Release is carefully developed and written well enough to allow me to completely empathize with both Trace and Darby. This powerful story explains how the things adults say to children can form the inner thoughts of those children as they become adults themselves. (Verbal abuse is just as damaging, often more damaging, than physical abuse.)

I also like how the author knew the correct form of therapy Trace received. Nothing irritates me more than someone who gets it wrong. Kudos, Ms. Fox.

Why not five stars then? Two reasons. One because I lost a little respect for both characters. Just because I understand their motives does not make me like how they both handled certain situations. Secondly, they both acted a little too maturely for their ages throughout the entire book. Darby especially acted way too mature from chapter one. It wasn't as if her character was completely unbelievable, but she just seemed... I'm not sure how to explain it, maybe too perfect?

I began reading Catch and Release before I knew about Catch my Fall, which I plan to read next. Luckily, I was not confused or lost reading book two first.

Ella Fox never disappoints and the same was for the second, much anticipated release, in The Catch Series. Everyone loves a strong heroine. There's just something that makes you want to fist pump the air when you read about a gal that's strong--strong enough to help a broken hero through the hardest of times. Darby is an amazingly strong and beautiful soul. She's a perfect match for our broken hero Trace. I loved seeing how their relationship evolved from children to adults. The love was unending and powerful.

This story is different than some of Ella's other works. Where this book was less on steam, it spun an incredibly powerful and beautiful tale of unconditional love where two best friend's relationship was tested through the thickest and thinnest of times.

I would suggest if you want a friends to lovers romance that gives you all the feels: anger, happiness, sweetness, frustration, sadness, etc, then Catch and Release is the perfect story to sink your teeth into. Grab some tissues and prepare your heart. This story will catch your heart and never release it!

Catch and Release is book 2 in the Catch Series and is Trace and Darby's story. Let me just say that I loved book 1, Catch my Fall that was about Trace's twin brother Tristan and Mia. Def read book 1!!! This book starts at the very beginning of how Trace and Darby met. I am glad that it started there because it helps you understand Trace and Darby's relationship SO much better. I FLOVE Darby!!! I think she is a tough cookie with a sweet edge but also one of the most realistic female characters. Is she perfect, NO but knowing their whole life story you understand why she is the way she is with Trace. Trace is NOT perfect, you'll want to smack him a few times and yes those times are pretty big. But the love he and Darby has is powerful and a beautiful story. Totally recommend, #OneClickNow #ReadOn

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and all I can say is... WOW!! Last night I finished reading this book in tears. It was that amazing. All of Ella's work is exceptional but this book touched my heart. Trace and Darby's story is one of friendship, growth, heartbreak but most of all love. As I was reading, I found myself gripping my kindle so hard that I had to put it down to calm myself. I wanted to reach into the pages bitch slap Mrs. Chamberlain, hug Anna and Robert but most of all I wanted to tell Trace that he isn't alone and that he is worthy. I could go on and on about this book but I the last thing I will say is that you NEED to read it. Thank you Ella for once again writing a beautiful story that I am sure touched so many people but especially me!

The wait was definitely worth it for this book! Once again, Ella Fox does not disappoint her readers. After receiving an ARC of this little gem, I devoured it in one sitting.

Catch and Release follows Trace and Darby from an early age on. Despite the obstacles placed before them, they both persevere and trudge through them. Even though I wanted to hit Trace at times, Darby overpowers him with her strong personality.

This is a great friends-to-lovers read with a strong, spunky heroine. The epilogue...oh, what a great epilogue. As with everything else I have read by Ella Fox, this is a definite five-star read!

Another hot and steamy read by Ella!

Trace and Darby were made for each other. They have known each other most of their lives. Darby has known Trace was the one since the beginning. Trace knew Darby was it for him but he didn't believe he was worthy.

This story is full of ups and downs. I found myself wanting to shake Trace to get him to see how stupid he was being. Darby was a lot stronger and persistent than I could ever be, but she had faith in her love and she knew it was just a matter of time.

I hope you enjoy this very touching love story.

Absolutely loved it! But of course it's written by Ella so what's not to love. The writing was fantastic and has wonderful characters. I don't think I have cried for any character as much as I did for Trace. He gets inside you, I just wanted to hold him and tell him everything was going to be ok. This is definetly one of those books that you want to read, not only once but re-read again and again.

Another Ella Fox favorite

I loved how this story started when they were kids. The relationship and story grew over the years. Darby knew from a little girl that Trace was her forever even when he was being hardheaded. The twins had to deal with so much growing up and deserved all the happiness they could get. This story happens simultaneously with book 1. If you haven't read it it's ok but this book will make you want to read it.
