I fell in love with Carter Reed and Emma Martins on book one. Emma reached out to the "Cold Killer" Carter Reed because she was trying to survived and she knew he was the only one who could help her. Book two continues their journey but now they are together and now her life is at risk because now they want him and she is their only asset to get to him . The author was able to bring a story full of suspense, action, secrets, and steamy scenes.

CARTER

Carter had declared war to save Emma on book one. He was in the mafia for the Marcelo's family. However, he was out now because he loved Emma. Instead he now makes money for both The Marcelo and The Bartel's family, which was the deal so he could get out of the Mafia.

Emma is trying her best to forget what happened in the past and living a normal life. She knows that is just an illusion but she still wants to try. She goes out to the gun range and wine drinking with her two best friends Theresa and Amanda. Noah is Theresa’s boyfriend whom we meet as well and he is always there with them as a protector even though they don’t need it. Carter has 24/7 body guards that are shadows over Emma and they somehow have become family to her as well. Emma is feeling that something is going on when Carter starts disappearing more often than usual.

Carter wanted her to enjoy her friends and always kept a closed tab on them as well because he knew how important they were for Emma. Emma was his life and he would do anything to protect her and make her happy. I freaking loved him so much on this book I didn't thought it was even possible. However, he knew he had to hide her and protect her from the WAR that was coming. Cole Marcelo had been found after being hidden by Carter for five years. He was the only blood line left out of his family and therefore it was his time to take over the Mafia business. He knew a war was at take because not everyone was going to let him take charge because they won’t trust him and he knew the Bartel’s were going to fight as well.

However, the events that took place I was not expecting at all. Holy shit, so much action and secrets came out. You couldn't trust anyone and Carter had to watch his back all the time. Shit got real when Emma was put at risk. She was almost killed 4 times and Carter went bat shit crazy he went on a killer spree “THE COLD KILLER HAD RETURNED”. No one was going to hurt his woman and no one was going to get away with it alive.

"I would already have a body count in the thirties by now, if it had been you. Heaven and hell. That’s where I would go for you." Carter

Emma was scarred after most of Carter’s man had been killed to protect her and the new family she had recently found had been kidnapped because they thought it was her. She was desperate knowing there was nothing she could do. I couldn't help sobbing at this, I felt attached to some of the people she was around so I was a mess. But she also knew Carter will do anything for her but she didn't want to lose him either.

"I know you’re the Cold Killer, but it goes both ways. You love me. I love you back. I’ll be safe, but you hold up your end, too. Be. Safe" Emma

Finally, the story was wrapped up so well at the end all the pieces were put together perfectly. After all the deaths, the kills, the secrets came out, and suspense, Emma and Carter survived this crazy ride and I was so happy the way this ended. I loved their chemistry, their love for each other and how much they care for one another. Both will give their life for each other no matter what. The sex scenes were so intense and fabulous on this book, Carter was freaking the Boss!! Honestly, I liked this one better, so much better. Why?! Well even though they were apart a lot I could feel they were closer, the love between these two was just EPIC.

"Why is it that your presence can calm me? Your touch can make me alive, and one little sigh from you makes me want to sleep for days in your embrace?" Carter

"Because you love me" Emma

"Her eyes darkened, and the need for her spiked in me. I reached for her without thinking and hoisted her in the air. Her legs parted as I peeled off her shirt and bra. She fit against me, like she was made for me" Carter

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"Carter was my family. He was the only one who counted. Everything else would fall into place. He was mine. He was home" Emma

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"I love you,” she murmured. Goddamn. I kissed her and whispered against her lips, “I love you, too" Carter

First read 02/27/2020; Second via audiobook - 08/26/2025;

Carter Reed is all that and a bag of chips!

Every bit as much action and as great of a story as the first book, this book was non stop from the first page to the end and I loved every bit! No sappy “I love you”,”No I love you more” for the last fifty percent of the book. Every time I thought everyone was safe and it was all over, something else would happen.

Cole Mauricio played a fairly big role in this book and I read the book Cole before but will now have to read it again. Carter hid Cole away when the Bertal crime family killed Cole’s father and started picking off the rest of his immediate family one by one. Cole trained him to fight and he has been in hiding ever since.

Though now the Bertal’s found Cole and killed his two best friends and he has returned to take his rightful place as head of the Mauricio crime family. However some of the family elders don’t trust Cole and would rather put Carter at the head of he family. Even though Carter had been out and wanted to stay out. He does his best to help Cole. Though everyone knows war is coming.

Emma has things of her own going on when a look-a-like shows up in town at the worst possible time. It turns out to be her sister who she was separated from at a very young age and that brings into question why she was with A.J. and her sister wasn’t? Was he her brother or her kidnapper?

The Romance between Carter and Emma is as hot as ever. Carter does everything he can to keep protecting Emma while the all this is going on with the Mauricio and Bertal families. I don’t know why it is so hot that he is called “The Cold Killer” and comes home soaked in blood after killing every man in the location he just raided but all I can say is that Carter Reed is certainly a man who can take care of business! And he will do whatever it takes to make sure his woman is protected. If that isn’t all that and a bag of chips with some queso dip on the side, I don’t know what is!

Audiobook Review:
This one was great via audiobook. It was done in dual narration and narrated by Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers. I really enjoyed both of these narrators, they sound the right age and pretty much exactly as I would expect for these two characters. Lucy Rivers has an intelligent sounding voice and is very expressive. Christian Fox has a deep, but soft voice, which is just as I had expected for Carter Reed. The story was just as good the second time around and it was made even better via audiobook.

Carter Reed is one of my favorite Tijan books. Seriously. I would declare war for you. is one of the most epic book lines. I would totally declare war for Carter Reed. He’s my favorite Tijan man. Once again, I listened to the audio book of Carter and loved the narration and the flow of the story. It’s fast paced, intriguing, and I didn’t want to stop listening.
“…It goes both ways. You love me. I love you back. I’ll be safe, but you hold up your end, too. Be. Safe.”

Carter used to be in the mafia. He used to be a cold killer. But he gave up that life, and he did it all for Emma. There’s only one thing that could make him become that cold killer and be back in that life. And that one thing is protecting Emma and making sure she is safe. Carter will do anything to keep her safe. There is a lot of family drama going on in this story. Along with some drama with friends. We get to meet some new characters that bring some of the conflict with them.

Emma and Carter are a couple that I love. I love them so much because they are completely and utterly devoted to one another. This wasn’t quite as epic as the first for me, it was missing that little something that made me 5 star favorite the first, but overall, I still liked it lots. It was suspenseful, steamy and captivating. I would recommend to fans of Carter Reed!

3,5 Badass Stars.

After everything that Emma and Carter went through in the first book, she finally believes that are now having a deserved quiet time. But when someone from the Mafia world comes back, Carter is forced to go back in. Add a person from Emma’s well… past, that appears to shake things up and you have the essentials for a wild ride. Carter’s first priority is Emma, but how can he fight with everything that’s happening against them?

description

This book was released so much time after the first one that when I started I was seriously afraid that I wouldn’t remember anything of the story. Luckily, Emma lives in the past a lot so it was easy to remember what happened before. This time add a little more drama, a little more action and we have the same steamy mafia romance we had in the first book. Except this time Emma was a selfish whiny girl through most of the book. Luckily Carter was sexy in his mysterious and broody way and way sweeter than she deserved. There was so much stiffening happening that it was hard to focus on everything that was going on and in some moments everything seemed a huge blur of action and romance mixed up. I didn’t like it as much as the first, but it was still a nice follow-up.

Unfortunately, this second book was a read that I just couldn't seem to get into. One of the reasons was that there was so much time spent apart between Emma and Carter. The other reason was that I felt there was a lot of repetition with how characters were feeling about certain situations. I was very disappointed, especially because I had really enjoyed the first book..

I am going to leave this review short as I don't feel like bashing or anything.. I will leave this as I was very bored! Will I ever read another Tijan book again?? Absolutely! I have enjoyed a few of her books, and I have faith that there will be more that she writes that will be just as good as the ones that I fell in love with! Carter Reed #2 was a let down, but I look forward to see what is next for the talented Tijan..

Carter 2 it's live

Carter Reed, boy, does that name roll off your tongue really nicely, eh?

The follow up to bk1 entitled  Carter Reed, bk2 takes you on a complete opposite trajectory than what I would have expected.

Taking off from where it’s predecessor left off, just when you think Carter has done his duty to the mob and out for good, he is brought back in full force.

Author Tijan, definitely ups the ante as not only is Carter’s life on the line, but, so is his ladylove, Emma.

And Emma. Will she accept the life of Carter that she has subsequently been thrown into?

carter reed 7

After all, what Carter Reed loves, he keeps. Protects. And will bring vengeance to anyone that upsets this balance.

Carter Reed...one character...that's the whole purpose for my enjoyment of this read!

Now that is not saying this was a bad read...not at all. I'm saying this could have been about knitting or vegetation and it would have kept my attention because of the blond quiet stealth ninja sexiness on the pages!

After everything Emma and Carter endured to be together it was so awesome to see their love had grown. Everything was so emotional between them, and I was so happy. Of course there had to be drama...it wouldn't be normal esp when the mafia is involved! So I fell into the story and found alot to be happening...a mob war, kidnappings, lost relatives, shootings, strained friendships...just a typical week for Emma! All of the story was fine and I kinda just hummed thru it. Everytime Carter entered a scene I slowed down and savored the hell out of it. Oh wow...nothing better than a man in so deep that he can't breath without his woman. I love the changes in him while becoming more open and vulnerable with her, he was just as, if not, more deadly because of it. Nothing would keep him from Emma!

So surviving a few more times for the sake of love was fun! In the end, Carter Reed would have his Emma...forever!

‘This was still how I preferred to think of him, not as the man the city knew as the Cold Killer, Carter Reed. He was my soul mate.’

Carter Reed is back and he’s here to right the wrongs and make his girl Emma safe. We were reading this book feeling like we were on a mission – a timed mission where at any moment time would be up. Facing a gauntlet, trying to figure out the in’s and out’s on why no one is safe any longer. Why Carter and Emma can’t be left alone and just be at peace with each other and their love.

“Why is it that your presence can calm me? Your touch can make me alive, and one little sigh from you makes me want to sleep for days in your embrace?”

The Cold Killer – his intensity and power is addictive and makes our pulses race. However; his vulnerability and all-encompassing love for Emma even more so. Their shared history and the strength of their connection is magnified by the want and willingness to end this fight for both of them. A fight that’s a race against time with the clock ticking so vividly in the background.

‘Everyone I loved went away. Everyone I let close ended up hurt.’

Emma has one hell of a time in this book – overwhelmingly so. This girl is a bloody rock. There’s no damsel in distress here – no – she pulls up her skirt and faces the obstacles kicking and screaming as she tries to reconcile the facts and protect who and what she loves.

‘She was a fighter, my fighter.’

We love a good well written mafia book and we have to say this was and even though it may not have taken us to the stratospheric heights of Carter Reed One, we still really enjoyed this second book. There’s vengeance, passion, deception, romance and friendships. Ultimately, Carter Reed symbolises family and love – we can choose our friends but we can’t choose our family. Water can be thicker than blood.

“Heaven and Hell. That’s where I would go for you.”

Finally, more Cole!

The cold killer returns in this follow-up to Carter Reed. I was very entertained and impressed with ruthless Carter. My only issue was that I didn't get to experience the action as much as I would have liked. Much of it takes place off the page or from Em's perspective. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed with her this go round. There was one particular moment that really defined her character for me and she botched it.

Overall, I still enjoyed the book. Again, I'd definitely recommend the audiobook. The narration has been consistent.

I absolutely loved Carter Reed and was hoping for some more I would declare war for you moments. They didn't come, so this book wasn't as epic as the first for me, but a solid 4 star read. The plot is suspenseful and engaging. The love story is sexy and heart felt. I just felt more annoyed with side characters and even Emma at times.

Regardless, I am happy with their conclusion. It was just a little harder to obtain than I had originally thought in my imaginary one. LOL

I am currently listening to the audio.

3.75 "I WOULD DIE TO PROTECT YOU" stars

When I read Carter Reed (book 1) I wasn’t that much impressed with it – either the story itself or the crazy bunch of characters BUT I liked Carter – dominant, ruthless Cold killer for Mauricio Family…
although the book one presented the declaration of love between Carter and Emma… book two picks up on that and it’s more detailed and more authentic in further development of their love surrounded by turmoils, action, drama, killings…

Emma is Carter’s life and his mission is to protect her from the impacts of the mafia world and any revenge that might occur. And he’s making it a matter of life and death to do so. Emma is cherished and protected and loved. She’s also surrounded by Carter’s men, devoted soldiers who’ll die to protect and to serve. Carter cut a deal between the two mafia families and made a full open threat to them if they ever touched Emma. There would be a war!

“What happens now?”
He didn’t answer at first.
Then he let out a soft breath of air and turned, his eyes pained.
He said one word: “War.”

But the things in Mauricio Family are being unfold and new prospect is showing up demanding his birth given right to the mafia throne which sets things in motion and they don’t go in Carter’s favor. Emma becomes endangered and Carter must act upon the new situation…

New developments threaten the friendship ties Emma has with her friends (I disliked them a little less then I did in the first book, and since I was easily distracted by other events in the book that only made me less annoyed with them. So that was good. LOL) and secrets from her past are emerging to the surface altering known facts and truths about her own family.

I liked the second book better than the first one and I liked Carter even more…this time I liked Emma too. She became stronger and she was ready to fight and protect Carter back…as much as he was letting her.

I’m by your side, Carter. This is our life now. A bomb went off. You can’t protect me all the time. I know you try. I know the guards are there, but if anything happened—I have to know, too.” My throat constricted. “And if something happened to you, god forbid, I’m going to be there, trying to protect you, too. I’ll do it whether I know how to fight or not.”

He touched the side of my face. “If anything happened to you…” He hesitated.
I rested my hand over his. “Something already did.” My voice grew firm.
“It’s time, Carter. I’m not innocent. Stop treating me like I am.”
“It’s because I love you—”
“And I love you. Equip me with the best skills to be the woman at your side. It’s the smart thing to do.”

The love between them was vivid and palpable and I really liked that. That kind of set the whirpool of emotions in me. I liked Carter’s determination, posture and the way he handled things and situations…

I was a caged panther, and I wanted out of the cage to protect what’s mine.

He was a true dominant alpha, protective of his own despite of his “job” that defined his visible shell, but the inner core was set only on Emma. He was loyal, devoted, protective, passionate and lovable. He breathed, ate and drank on Emma’s pulse, on her sights, on her soul…on her love.

“Why is it that your presence can calm me? Your touch can make me alive, and one little sigh from you makes me want to sleep for days in your embrace?”
I smiled, moving to press a kiss to his ear. “Because you love me.”

What are you going to do?”
“Never leave her side.”

I really enjoyed that and I was totally drawn into it. And the way Emma saw him was the core of their relationship cause she saw beyond him being a Cold Killer…

There he was. Nestled next to me, his eyes closed and his breathing even, he was asleep. His hair was a little messed, flattened from the pillow, but he was adorable. That wasn’t a word I would usually use to describe Carter. He was gorgeous. He was stunning. He was lethal. But not adorable, and that’s why I relished this moment. His walls were gone, and it was just him, the real him at his most vulnerable.

Carter was my family.
He was the only one who counted.
Everything else would fall into place.

This was quite enjoyable read!

Sad. This book lost the chemistry of the first book. The MCs spend way too much time apart. This book is about everything but the MCs and their relationship. Her friends are annoying. Carter is too secretive. Emma is almost a doormat with CARTER and his disappearances. And she behave a bit TSTL carrying on like there are no threats to her life.

Loads of mafia stuff happening.

Still don’t feel like I got more than a HFN, but I do feel they are committed long term.

In this Carter Reed sequel, Emma and Carter find themselves thrust back into the mob life they'd bought their way out of. A major player in the Mauricio family makes a return and all eyes are on him and the man that kept him alive all these years, Carter Reed. With Carter's allegiance being pulled towards his mob brother Cole, he has no choice but to get involved with the Mauricio family again. When a warring mob family threatens the one person Carter has spent his life protecting, he falls deeper into his old life and The Cold Killer starts to re-emerge in an effort to keep Emma protected.

This installment had a few surprises that were quite enjoyable and some twists that had me wanting to throw my iPad across the room. Carter tried his hardest to keep Emma out of harms way but she's not some wilting flower, she holds her own even when Carter urges her to stay home.

Emma, along with most of Tijan's female characters, have this great combination of being totally bad-ass and strong, mixed with this vulnerability and emotional nakedness. This is one of a few things I really love about Tijan's writing. Another thing I love is how all-consumingly (I don't think that's actually a word. Oh, well) the heroes love the heroines. Tijan's heroes seem to have this extreme capacity to love and they love so hard, it's awesome. So, heroes that love super hard, a hefty dose of drama, and heroines that can be emotional without it detracting from their badass-ness, a few things you might encounter in this book and other Tijan books.

Great 2nd book, make you understand Carter Reed better. At any cost he will protect the woman he loves no matter who is coming for her. Emma lost her brother AJ which was Carter best friend & in order to protect Emma against the Bartel family, he went on a Bertel killing spree. That is when Carter joined The Maurcio's family to get protection for Emma and himself for all the Bartel's he killed. Thats how Carter Reed got his name.

This book show how unstoppable Carter is and how much Carter & Emma belong together they are perfect for each other and have loved each other since they were kids. It show the new life and friends which are her new family Teresa, Nova & Amanda that Emma knows she must protect and keep them safe from the lifestyle that she chose with Carter, also the bond she had with her body guards. All while learning about her old life and how her and AJ end up on their on with AJ taking responsibility for Emma (Alley Cat) Great follow up book.

I loved this one so much!!

This is in Emma and Carters pov. In the first one Carters parts were not in pov. So this little difference was a big on for me! In a very good way.

This was a hot, exciting, dark and fun one! I know how can a mob book be hot, exciting and fun? Yeah well I have a weird taste ;) But sometimes a girl needs something a bit darker, a bit more exciting. And I did get that with this one! To be totally honest the first one was better in my opinion, still this is a high rating for me too!!

I'm very happy I found these too, because they are so worth it!

I love Carter. I love Emma. This book is such a wonderful, sexy roller coaster ride. Tijan knows how to twist a plot so you have no idea where she's going. As a reader, this is my favorite way to enjoy a story. Every character has a fleshed out personality and purpose. This writer is so consistently amazing, she is an immediate one click for me. Today is your lucky day. You get to read Carter reed 2 for the first time!

2 Desilusionadas STARS
description

Carter Reed 2 was the second book in the series by Tijan. It was well written with well developed characters. It was a continuation of Emma and Carter's life and opened a year after the first book ended.

Emma and Carter were already together after book one, so this book focused on the suspenseful storyline surrounding the mafia families, the Bartel's and the Mauricio's, war, as well as new developments from Emma's childhood.

Although Carter had left the mafia family; he kept getting pulled back in. He had been known as the Cold Killer and he did his job well. When Emma was threatened, Carter protected by eliminating all threats by whatever means necessary. The storyline was riveting, captivating, suspenseful and entertaining.

Tijan continued to provide depth and humor through the supporting cast of characters. They were intriguing enough to merit additional books for a continuation of the series or a suitable spinoff.

We were introduced to Cole Mauricio, the heir to the Mauricio throne and the only surviving member of his immediate family. While we wait for Carter Reed 3, his story is next in Cole.

Changing this to 4.5 :) after rereading it I realize how much I love both Carter and Emma. Now I'm on to Cole!! I hope this is the same Cole HAHAHaha that would be so stupid on me if it wasn't. Oh well modes me I don't care. I got to reread this baby :)

4 solid stars!

First, I am glad that I reread book 1 before book starting book 2. Is it needed, no, but what I remember from book 1 I might have not liked book 2 and would have agreed it fell short.

However, Book 1 and 2 are pretty much the same. The only deferences were we now get a HEA not a HFN and this is more about Emma and her past finding her.

I never liked how book 1 just ended after some major drama. So when I heard about 2, I was all over it. The only confusion I have with book 2 is I read the spoiler a while back on Ms. Tijan's page and whatever was in the spoiler wasn't in this book and I kept waiting for it. Oh well.

Carter Reed, was really just that about Carter and his mob life and of course helping Emma. Carter Reed 2 is Emma's back story, it also reflects a lot of past history to show that Emma and Carter have always felt something for one another. I was hoping that since it took so long for a book 2 to get written that years would have passed and Carter and Emma would have been further along in their relationship, but that's just me obsessed with HEA. I loved their connection and that both Carter and Emma were in sync with one another. They were both about living for each other and doing what was best for them. Damn anyone else. Emma was stronger in this book, and the annoying scaredy cat girl had grown up and gained confidence.

She really had Carters back, not caring what she had to do or who she had to cut from her life. I did enjoy this book and would definitely recommend it. There are some issues but nothing major.

Here are my annoyances:

There is a lot of drama in this book, I am all for drama but not to the point of confusion. I kept waiting(hoping) for both world's to collide that way I could understand why we were dealing with so many stories. I kind of got a headache with everything going on and having nothing to do with each other.

Emma was stronger in this book but she had her moments so just bare with it. At times she comes of childish and spoiled.

Not enough Emma and Carter together. This book is more Emma and her friends and Carter and his friend. Yes, they still are totally involved and love each other but they weren't with one another most of the book. Carter is MIA a lot dealing with his Mob ties.

The unnecessary stories with Emma's friends Theresa and Amanda. I didn't care for Theresa is book 1, really did not like her in book2. She was just a drunk idiot every time she came to play.

Finally, after all stories played out I could see where it could have been better but I really enjoyed this book. I am happy we got a part 2 because I totally still love Carter Reed.

I loved the first book so much that I was happy to find out there was a second book, a follow up on Carter and Emma’s story... and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. I was kinda expecting on the mafia part of the story where Carter, despite buying himself out of that business, will always be tied to it. So it was not a surprise that he again starts to deal with the mafia and in trying to protect Emma. What I wasn’t expecting was finding out that there was more to learn about Emma’s background. I totally loved that twist.

I am a huge fan of Tijan’s writing, I love the way she tells the story.

But…. This second book just did not give me the same high as the first one. Right at the start of the story, there was a feeling of forced tension… and I wasn’t quite getting it. Then, Carter is most of the time missing in action. His character also sound a bit mushy, if I didn’t know it was his POV, I would have thought it was Emma’s… Is it just me or do they almost sound alike?

I loved that Emma still has that fight in her but I find it just a bit too much here.

In the end, I still love Carter and Emma. :) Even when they sound too cheesy with their repetitive love or need for each other. Ugh!

I wasn’t quite sold by the action scenes either. Most of it was predictable. It’s like watching a low budget action scene where the hero and the villains acts stupid. I'm sorry, that's just how it played out for me.

This actually left me with confused feelings in the end as to how to take it all in…. might just be me cause I had such huge expectations? Hmmm… :)

4 STARS

This would be such 5 star book if ending was a bit different,I wanted better epilouge with Emma and Carter in 3 or 5 years...I don't know.

“I would already have a body count in the thirties by now, if it had been you. Heaven and hell. That’s where I would go for you.”

Before I dive into this review, this was all written by my two wonderful thumbs, aka by phone. Enjoy.

Okay, so Carter reed 2 is obviously the sequel to Carter reed. Just in case you didn’t see that coming. In it, you will still meet Carter and Emma. throughout the book their romance blossoms into something a bit more meaningful. Their trust for each other is growing by the page. We already know how much they love each other..but it also grows throughout the thing too.

Now of course Carter and Emma are still dealing with his past: the mafia. They want him back in and he just wants them to leave him and Emma the fuck alone. All he cares about is her and her safety. So when they get threatened by the mafia..shit hits the fan. Emma’s life gets accidentally thrown in danger numerous times but she doesn’t care. Why? Well because she just wants Carter safe. It’s their life now. So if he goes out into danger...you bet your ass she will be there.

Other than that, this book had some twists. I liked getting to meet her sister but didn’t like how they all grew up with their abusive mother. In the end, I liked this book. I can’t decide if I liked the first one better or not but I am happy that this book didn’t disappoint.

Tijan has written another great book. This lady is one talented author. The way she captivates you from beginning to end is pure talent. I was truly blown away after reading CR2 and the book flowed flawlessly.

Once I started reading CR2, I was completely hooked!! The story picks up right where CR1 left off but with a lot of twists and turns. Right when you think Carter is done with the mafia, he is getting lured right back in. When Emma's life is threatened, nothing will stop Carter from protecting her. NOTHING!!

"Why is it that your presence can calm me? Your touch can make me alive, and one little sigh from you makes me want to sleep for days in your embrace?"

Carter Reed is one of those characters that draws you in and holds you captive. He's addictive and you crave him. He makes your heart race while at the same time he is melting your heart. His love for Emma is so deep and you feel it!! He would move heaven and earth to protect her...He was given the name THE COLD KILLER for a reason.

I love Emma's character as well. She is one strong heroine and I love that about her. She is badass and she doesn't care who knows it. She loves her man and she would give her life to protect him. She protects what's hers and what she loves...including her family and friends. She's not going down without a fight.

 photo kendall_zpsspem3s8y.jpg

She was a fighter, my fighter.

You will think of Carter for days to come and you can bank on that!! He is just one of those characters that's special. I can't really explain it...just read it and then you'll know what I'm talking about. The way Tijan pulls you in and makes you fall for a freaking mob boss (The Cold Killer)...that's just truly amazing to me.

You will also love the secondary characters...the bodyguards as well as Emma and Carter's friends.

I'm serious when I say this...You are missing out if you don't read these 2 books. Read them now...you will be so thankful you did.

I give Carter Reed2 5 Crazie Stars ~ Kim
