All American Studs #1

Trailer Park Abe

Rate this book
Atwood was meant to achieve great things in his life. Instead, he had a shotgun wedding to his high-school sweetheart Jessica, and wound up slaving away every night, working six days a week in a meat packing factory to support his new trailer park family. His wife’s been cheating on him. Their house is a dump. He’s given up all hope of a better life when his brother-in-law comes up with a plan for Atwood to earn them a stash of easy cash … as an amateur performer on All American Studs, the hottest gay website on the internet. He takes on the role of Abe, a sophomore football jock in college. The solo video is a hit and he’s invited back to film a duo, which comes with a far bigger payday. This could be Atwood’s chance to leave the trailer park behind, and he might just find true love along the way.

Short & Hot MM Erotica

...I try to cover myself up but there's no use. I long ago learned that my penis is in the upper percentiles in terms of overall size. I'm packing about 11 inches, give or take, and it's thick as a beer can.
This novella is't really a Romance - it's the story of a desperate man's journey of self discovery and rebirth... But told in the guise of a blazing hot erotic short story which will have you looking for a spare set of panties.

Trailer Park Abe certainly qualifies as a one-handed read...

Atwood is an unlikely hero - He's a closeted, trailer-trash, failure at life... But not for lack of trying. His story is a lesson in how the American dream can go sour when you knock-up your high school sweetheart.

Luckily Atwood stumbles into a gig on All American Studs - a gay porn site which is very interested in his... er... talent...

The reader is blessed with:
- Several hot solo scenes,
- Some lovely fantasies,
- Atwood transforms into Abe,
- His stardom attracts attention,
- He takes the leap into a new life,
- Flirting with a gorgeous strangers,
- And Atwood loses his virginity for the second time...

There was a touch of awkwardness and a few rough edges.
...but that's to be expected with any debut.
- I never particularly understood why Atwood would choose to support his wife (who is a horrid human being) or his wife's family (who are the quintessential sweat-stained Jerry Springer types)
- There were some issues with general editing which were easy to overlook & didn't negatively affect my enjoyment.
- There were a couple of loose-ends and details I'd like to see resolved. Perhaps my wish will be granted in the next novella?

I'm not sure what the future has in store for the All American Studs series, but I know I'll be the first in line to read book two whenever it's published.

A strange, sort of depressing but SUPER hot little number.

Atwood's home life is horrendous. His in-laws are lazy, druggie moochers, and his wife is using him and cheating with lots of men. It is pretty messed up, to be honest. The rest of the plot is also a bit ridiculous, but I think most porn star plots are.

But the sex... I am one happy camper! A gay virgin is always a ticket to heaven for me, and this was pure and simple gay first-timer erotica.

I think I'll have to invest more in this series...

Atwood is married to his high school sweetheart (she got pregnant then lost the baby) with whom he has mostly hated for the last several years. She is a drug addicted, cheating, horrible person who uses Atwood mercilessly. She even drags in her family to use Atwood as well.
She pushes Atwood into gay-for-pay porn to help supplement her drug habit, then berates him as a “fag” for doing it. (You can tell, she’s pretty awesome – NOT!)
Somewhere during this Atwood finds his balls and leaves her, just as he is about to move forward from the more tame “solo” work he had been doing to the more “involved” work of doing a scene with another man.
The two men really hit it off and Atwood decides he is probably gay and the two start off a tentative relationship from there.
This is a short story, and as such, has the benefits and problems of any piece with a limited length to develop a story. Given that, the author spent a lot of time setting up Atwood’s plight – horrible, awful, sad, sad, sad. Then the second half of the story is basically his big sexual discovery session with Reece.
A small snippet is the burgeoning relationship between him and Reece and the idea that there might be something for Atwood to move on to from his horrible (soon to be ex) wife.
Some short stories are great – they use a small amount of words to tell a big story. Some short stories are merely elongated fantasies, with a few more details thrown in for padding. This is one of the latter. It’s not a bad story, the sex is hot, the premise is interesting, and the fact that you really feel for Atwood is a plus. However, the ending, as it were, left a lot to be desired. It was just unsatisfying. I really wanted to know more about how Atwood came to accept his life as a “gay” man if he even really considered himself gay or not.
I wanted to give it a 2.5 – it was okay, but the sex really was super hot – so I upped it to a 3. If you’re interested in a short but hot story, with a minimum of angst or emotion, this is your story!
Overall Impression:

3 – It was good

This started out as a slightly depressing story- Atwood's wife cheats on him, his in-laws (mother/father/brother) live with them and take complete advantage of him, his job's in jeopardy. The best thing his wife could have done for him was get him hooked up with the All American Studs crew, where he's finally able to realize what makes him happy.

Trailer Park Abe is a quick read, but there's a lot packed into this short story...I was disgusted by his wife and her family, frustrated with the way they treated him and how he let himself be treated, but glad when he decided enough was enough.

Working for AAS made him open his eyes to who he really is, and that made all the difference for him. Meeting Reece was probably the best thing that could have happened to him, and I am looking forward to more of their story.

***One thing that did bother me a bit, you can definitely tell the author isn't American as there were quite a few words and phrases that didn't make sense for a story that was taking place in the US. It didn't really detract from the story but did throw me for a loop.

What can I say about this book? On one hand it reminded me very much of the Jerry Springer show in regards to the characters. At times I didn't understand why Atwood stayed with his wife and her family since there were no children involved.

Atwood was a very interesting character and I liked him. At times he was very honest and insightful. I loved how he justified some of his actions and his rationale behind other things. I got more than what I bargained for when I read this. I'm actually looking forward to the next installment!!!

I love that this short has a plot! Albeit, a hilarious yet sad start.

Atwood is a sweetheart. Knocked up his high school girlfriend so, of course, a shotgun wedding ensues. He's living in a trailer park with his wife and her family.

Debt mounts and opportunity arises. Things get steamy fast.

First time read by this author and damn, it was pretty sexy.

I'm hooked! Can't wait to start Filthy Dirty Rich.

I was given this book for an honest review.

I really loved this book. For such a short story it drew me in right off the bat. I immediately became attached to Atwood and felt bad for his situation. I just wanted to go in and slap all those crappy people in his life. But I could also understand this feeling of being trapped by what he assumed as his obligations. So I was happy when he finally took off for himself. The scenes were hot, hot, hot! But they had feeling too. It's kind of amazing how the author was able to contain so much feeling in short book. By the end I feel like I had come to know Atwood. It didn't feel like a novella. The only complaint that I have about this story is that it is a novella. I want it be a whole book. I want to continue on with these characters and it makes me sad that it's already over. But I am looking forward to the other books in the series. Can. Not. Wait!!!
