The Dragon Heart has come of age and sets off with his Ulfheonar to fight the Saxons. A chance visit to a cave brings him face to face with his past and changes his life forever. Fighting both Saxons and Hibernians on land and on sea he and his warriors conquer the land of Anglesey. Before they can enjoy the fruits of victory they face an enemy from the past who returns to haunt them.
I was born in 1950 in Lancashire and attended a boy’s grammar school. After qualifying as an English and Drama teacher in 1972, I worked in the North East of England for the next 35 years. During that time I did write, mainly plays, pantos and musicals for the students at the three schools in which I worked.
When I stopped teaching I set up my own consultancy firm and worked as an adviser in schools and colleges in the North East of England. The new Conservative Government ended that avenue of work and in 2010 I found that I had time on my hands; having started work at the age of 15 I found the lack of work not to my liking and used the time to research the Roman invasion of Britain and begin to create a novel. The result was The Sword of Cartimandua.
My decision to begin writing was one of the best I have ever taken.
Fast paced enjoyable read. Good character development. This was an interesting time in the history of the area. I will look forward to reading the rest of the series.
The book is the third in the Dragon Heart series but can be read as a stand-alone. What I love about this series is the honor at the core of the Dragon Heart. Here is a man who started out life as a slave captured with his mother early in his life. It shows his extraordinary character and how he is rewarded for it. It is a treat for readers of historical fiction and a treasure for those of us who love Viking novels and history. Griff Hosker is an addictive author. I have enjoyed his works in all of his series and cannot recommend him highly enough. He's been my saving grace during some of my most difficult times. If historic fiction is of interest, I cannot think of another author who will capture your imagination they way he does!
3rd and (so far) best volume in the series sees Dragonheart's herioc journey of conquest making inroads from the lOM to the North of England as his lineage is revealed and future becomes manifest.
another excellent read containing fact and fiction. Dragon Heart learns he is related to the " Wolf Brethern " from earlier books and finds the " Sword of Cartimandua ".
