Rescued by the Bear is set in Bear Creek, and can be read as a standalone story
Abbi finds herself on the run from a tiger. Not any ordinary tiger, this one can change from man to tiger in an instant. Her innocence attracts him and he plans to claim her as his own. What Abbi doesn't know, is she has run straight into the path of the only person in the world who is willing to lay down his life for her.
After waiting centuries for his mate to appear, bear shifter Brad, the sheriff of Bear Creek, is shocked to find her hiding out in a ruined house. Trying to unravel her story, and protect her from whatever it is that hunts her, he keeps his other self a secret.
Rescuing her is the easy part. How is he ever supposed to explain to her he is a shifter too. Will she run? Or will he convince her all he wants to do is mate with her and raise a family of bear cubs.
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
Meh... Not long enough to really feel one way or another about this one. The whole novella took place over a day and no epilogue to show progress in their relationship. No character background, no relationship development... It's basically just them meeting, him fighting off the baddies, then them mating. The end!
Definitely needs more work though. There are a few problems with sentence structure and wording that made me pause to reread to figure out what the author was trying to say. "I need you know." There is dialogue missing in an important conversation that was a when did you say that?! moment. There wasn't any information given that would make the heroine a BBW.
So if looking for a short, light read with a HEA you will like this. I read it in kindle unlimited.
short. shallow. nothing special. no real character or relationship. development. it was very much a meeting conflict mating scenario very basic with bot much int between AND the lead couple spent the majority of the book seperated so... idk not bad but not good either even short fluffy stories can be good. and i think at the very least if its going to be very much insta everything that there should be a decent epilogue to show character and life progress to give some sort of satisfying end.
Harmony you out did yourself with another great book. I have read everything you have wrote and enjoyed everyone of them can't wait to rad the next one....
On the upside I did enjoy her innocent bumbling. Even if it was driven by hormones. Not to mention the bear shifter and his idea of claiming/protecting what's his.
Rescued By The Bear begins the adventure we readers have had with the bears and their mates of the Bear Creek and Bear Bluff series. Since I just reviewed the first in the Return to Bear Creek story I figured it was time to get caught up from the very beginning. Somehow, although I’d read them, the first Bear Creek and Bear Bluff series weren’t reviewed… I should probably fix that oversight. *sheepish grin* To be fair I did read them before I began this blog but they still need to get caught up on.
Rescued By The Bear is a fast read. Yet don’t think there isn’t a full story here, all the important parts are well covered – and I’m certain this won’t be the last time we’ll run into Brad and Abbi within these series.
Abbi is on the run from a creature she never imagined existed. One ruthless tiger shifter has decided that her innocence makes her his perfect mate, even though they are not true fated mates. But Abbi knows nothing of fate destined mates, only terror at the enslavement she sees in the eyes of this man. Her trek has taken her to this abandoned building, and even though it may be freezing she at least has shelter and hopes that her scent has been covered by the bears rumored to wander these woods.
While patrolling the town’s territory in his bear form, Brad comes across an unfamiliar scent and follows it to an abandoned home. A woman in trouble – and his mate. But before he can act on that information he has to find out what she’s running from so that he can protect her and win her trust.
I enjoyed Brad and Abbi’s story. Their meeting is fast and intense yet there is that connection I always find in Harmony Raines’ stories that make the length of the story not matter so much – it’s the story within that does matter. Rescued By The Bear introduces us to some of the characters, fleeting as it is, that we will be meeting further along in this series. It’s enough to capture my attention and desire to learn more. I would recommend this story and these connecting series to any Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romances reader. It’s interesting to me to go back about two years to this series and take note of how Ms Raines’ stories have grown, how her community has gathered into a tight knit group of people who will always have each other’s backs. Sometimes it’s a good thing to go back to where it all began.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I really liked this book. Fate definitely knew what it was doing matching Brad and Abbi together just when Abbi is being hunted by a rogue menagerie pack because their chosen leader a Tiger Shifter scented that Abbi hadn’t had s*x before as she’s waiting until marriage and therefore wanted her as his mate, no matter if that wasn’t what she wanted. I thought they were great together and thought that Abbi took the news that Brad is a Bear Shifter and that they’re mates very well considering everything she’d been through with the animals that have been hunting her. I enjoyed seeing Will in all his biker glory before he accepted the bond between him and Freyja and I’m really looking forward to reading their story to find out what made him deny their bond, it must be a really good reason as it would not only be agonising staying away from her but also hurting her would be the last thing he’d want to do. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
This book is very short but the series is quit long so it will keep you busy for awhile. I finished reading the whole book but it is one of those easy books to put down for a little while. It has action and romance but it was a little too cheesy for me and it was just okay to read. It’s not my cup of tea. I liked the characters but I just wasn’t invested in them. Maybe it would have been better with more character background and development.
This is an older book so I won't be too judgy but I hope this author invested editors along the way. Too many little mistakes. Like the heroine said "that bastard" and the hero said "a tiger is after you?" And replies "no that's just what I call him" not a big deal but anyone who proofreaders their work or has others help would catch these mistakes.
I have read 9ne of her newer books and her writing style really doesn't change but this series seems to have short books
I really enjoyed this book. I read it in one setting and couldn't stop until the end. The story was entertaining and moved fast across the pages. However i think it moved way to fast with between Brad and Abby. The whole story was based in a 24h span. It is hard to get you head around it.
Running in fear straight into the arms of paradise!!
Harmony Raines you have done it again!!! I have read many of your shifter books and have enjoyed each one. This book did not disappoint! I have read other shifter books by If he authors and I have to say you're are the best. I look forward to reading the rest of this series!!!!
Brad and Abbi --Abbi was on the run from some bad people and one night Brad found her hiding in a old house wet and cold, he took her home and feed her. That's where the other characters get pull in and the twist and turns begin the bad people find Abbi and she has to run, will Brad safe her? Enjoy reading the book😊
Abbi is running from a tiger shifter when Brad finds her and takes her home with him. She is his mate and he must protect her at all costs. They learn to work together to help her. His friends help too. I liked the book it just seemed a bit short but then again I read pretty fast.
Wonderful story with loveable characters. Abbi running from who knows but Brad is more than positive that the female who he found will be dead by morning if he does not take her to his house. Then seems the end is near until the opposition learns to stay out of Bear Creek.
Surprisingly not bad! I don't know if I need a new series to get into, but this was an impressive start none the less. I couldn't give it full marks cause of the occasional 'well that seems stupid' moments but it certainly got bonus points for the handeling of the 'fated mates' trope
Nothing really to keep you turning the pages. A bit repetitive in parts especially from the heroine. You never learn what happens just leaves off after they have s3x.
I love the Bear Creek stories. I've read many of them. And although this one is cute, it seemed unfinished to me. Like there should be more to it. Maybe I'm just used to the more in depth stories. I liked it none the less.
This is a short, well written, very good Shifter/Human romance winsome action and drama. Abbe is hiding from a tiger shifter who wants her innocence. Brad finds her hiding in a cabin and takes her home. Read how she stops being afraid and makes things happen.
