Kiss Across Time #4

Kiss Across Deserts

Rate this book
For fans of vampire and time travel novels and the Kiss Across Time series. Time travel is not for the weak of heart. Alexander Karim, long-time friend of Brody, Veris and Taylor, has been questioning everything; his purpose in life and his identity as a vampire and a doctor. Even his long time pursuit of the lovely but reluctant police lieutenant Sydney Stevens is on shaky ground. Life tosses him a curve ball when Alex learns that Brody's trial lawyer, Rayner De Leon, the youngest appeal court judge in the state, is attracted to Alex. Rayner is a vampire, Rafael, who has known Brody and Veris since the fifth century. Alex warily allows Rafael to seduce him, and the affair has surprising results for both of them. But then a deliberate hit and run tosses Sydney back into Alex's life and this time, her defenses are down and she is vulnerable. But there are unanswered questions surrounding Sydney. Who tried to kill her? And why is she insisting that Alex was there, when he doesn't remember it that way? When a kiss sends Alex and Sydney back to Alex's beloved desert, and he realizes that Taylor is not the only one who can time travel, the questions pile up like gunpowder. The flint that strikes the spark is Sydney's past, which is exposed when Rafael reaches through time and uncovers her dangerous secret. The explosion that follows is both deadly and tragic, reaching out to touch everyone's lives. Warning: This time travel menage romance features two super-hot alpha vampire heroes, multiple sex scenes, including anal sex, MM sexual play, and MMF sex. Do not read this book if frank sexual language and sex scenes offend you. The time-space continuum was restored to order at the end of this book. Promise. Flat out, Tracy Cooper-Posey writes some SEX-AY men. Alexander and Rafael get high HIGH marks for sheer smolderability. By that same token, Sydney has to be strong and sexy in her own right to take on two men who have been around for centuries.

Things I loved: Seeing Brody, Veris and Taylor again. The men dispensing advice to Alexander about going with his instincts and his heart made me a little wibbly. B, V, and T as a family unit made me wibbly. THEIR KIDS MADE ME WIBBLY.

More things I loved: Alexander, Rafael and Sydney coming to terms with the unconventionality (by modern human standards) of their relationship. It's a hard, bumpy road to get them to a place where they can all admit that there's something between the three of them, but well worth it. And, oh, my heart hurt for Alexander. He was so close to having it all and then it was ripped away by jealousy and doubt and it HURT. But it all worked out in the end, so I got over the hurt. After a while.

As always, Tracy Cooper-Posey has given us a tangled, complex tale of love and heartache wrapped up in time travel. There's more going on than just romance, however, as the three of them (along with their friends) have to uncover plots and tangled time threads to keep them all safe.

LOVE!

Kiss Across Deserts: Vampire Time Travel Ménage Romance, (Kiss Across Time Book 4),  Tracy Cooper-Posey
Genre:  Erotica, Time travel, Fantasy/paranormal, Romance,
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews.
I’m really hooked into this series, its hot and sensual, erotic, but not one of those where the sex takes over the story. I need that balance, the decent storyline to enjoy a novel.
Years are passing, Taylor, Brody and Veris are married, they have three children now, and Alex has been a long time friend of theirs. The Queen however wants to know how they time travel and is pushing hard for an answer. To help  persuade the she means it she arranges for Brody to be framed in a drug bust, which has terrible consequences for him as we saw in the last book...part of his defence team is another lawyer and judge, Rafe. When he sees Alex something sparks between them, even though Alex has only ever had relationships with women. Its complicated too as Alex has been unsuccessfully pursuing human detective Sydney for a year now. She doesn’t date – we find out why later –  but through a series of events gets involved with both Alex and Rafe individually, and slides into a scene from her past.
Alex – I so feel for him, he’s suffering from the vampire ennui that often hits older ones. He envies what Taylor, Brody and Veris have, and also Rafe, a family that give them a sense of belonging and closeness. He’s lonely, been struggling with it for over a year now, and he’s been performing some dangerous experiments on himself in search of answers. I loved when he and Rafe got together and then...oh that was so so sad, and I really felt for him. Rafe too has a share of ups and downs in this book, and the time travel information brings them all into real danger. I did find Sydney’s actions a little odd after her years of deliberate isolation, staying away from men and relationships but it did lead to some real sadness, which I love to wallow in! I can’t see any other way either of getting the people in the place they needed to be. I love the time travel elements, and it builds on what has gone before, not throws in new things at the last moment. I hate when that happens, it seems a cop out. Even when Marit appears its in the context of being specially gifted that we already know.
Its another hot and erotic read, and I really enjoyed the distinct highs and lows in this book. I need that balance, and somehow when one or more characters are really feeling heartbroken, it makes it so much more meaningful when things work out. Marit too – she’s something special and I feel we’ll see more of her in future. The time travel mysteries get more complex, and working them out and seeing just why Brody & co insist on not altering the past is very thought provoking. Lots of “what if..”s spring to mind, but somehow the answers get brought in and I feel I mostly understand the complexities of it.
The ending to this part of the series is very edge of seat climatic, and once again makes for a perfect and sensual fantasy read. I’m looking forward to the next part.
Stars:  Five, a fabulous read .

Alex has been trying to get Sydney's notice for a year but now things have grown more complicated with a love triangle including Raphael but a dangerous secret threatens to tear them all apart before they can work things out in this astounding paranormal romance.

In Alex's envy of Taylor, Veris and Brody's life, he mistakenly concocts a serum that will rock his world but an even bigger complication arises when he finds himself torn between his desire for Sydney and his desire for Raphael and the reader can't help but get caught up in the explosive passion and excitement that stems from both situations. All three characters are strong and separately demand the reader's attention but together they are combustible as they work through their struggling relationship(s) and emotional turmoil, of course there's no problem in the sex department because that's a raging hot inferno of burning passion that scorches the pages. The fast paced and smooth flowing keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, excitement, romance and the sands of time.

The complicated space-time continuum has just gotten more complex as this story brings in more characters that have hooked in to the time travel including an extremely surprising one that even takes the characters by surprise and that's not to mention the unexpected twist and turns that keeps everyone guessing. Lots of tension and excitement build as Sydney and Taylor's life take a turn toward the dangerous and the well written scenes and details bring this story to life with lots of vivid imagery while the well orchestrated events including the strategic time jumping ensures that there is never a dull moment.

Once again, this series has enthralled me with all of its complexities, the wonderful characters and possibilities and I think that the direction that this story took the series in means that it's going to get even better in the future...I wonder if I could figure out a way to look ahead and find out? Hmmm....I guess I better stick to my own timeline and enjoy the books as they come.

This was a very hot and very fast paced story that had me intrigued from the first page. I quickly fell in love with Alex, and then Rafe, and found myself rooting for them and their human love interest Sydney-who has secrets of her own! The sex scenes were scorching, the characters were complex, full of emotions, the plot kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat. Loved the happy ending and just cannot wait to see what is in store for Marit and her vampire family! Ms. Cooper-Posey does not disappoint!

An excellent addition to this wonderful series. The story transported me to a world in vampires and time-travel. This story held me spellbound from beginning to end, I couldn’t put it down. The characters are likable and very in-depth and the chemistry/sex is on fire. I loved it!

Once again this author and series did not disappoint. This book focuses on a different triad, but have no fear Brody, Veris, and Taylor (the kids too) are in this book a lot also. The story is getting more intriguing and I am really looking forward to the next installment. I do have to say that whereas I really enjoyed Brody, Veris and Taylors relationship along with the story in the first three installments, this book for me was more the story then the relationship with the three romantic leads. That's to do more with my own personal tastes however. Two of the three leads in this book, kinda rubbed me funny and so I didn't enjoy the relationship aspect quite as much because I really wanted something great for Alexander, and I don't know, Rafael and Sydney did a thing or two to put me off. But that is totally my own taste! Everything and everyone was well written, but we all bring our own baggage on the trip and that's just how I felt. The story however is getting more mysterious and intricate and I'm so happy to have read that their will be more forthcoming.
I think it is probably best to read the other books in the series first for full understanding and enjoyment, I personally think it's worth it. If you're just reading for the romance/relationship aspect, then this book focuses on the coming together of three different leads from the first books (although all three are independently involved in them to some extent) so if that's all you care about you may be able to start with this one if that's what you're set on but I don't think it would be nearly as enjoyable. This author is great at including story with her romance and this book is a continuation of the story even if the romance is basically new.
I definitely recommend this book and this series. Actually I just simply recommend this author all together. I haven't read (or reviewed) everything of hers yet, but I've loved everything I have. I will and do re-read these books. I do think about them after I am finished reading them. They do make me continue to purchase and read more by this author, and that is why I am giving five stars. I hope you enjoy this series too! :)

The true rating is 4.3 stars

Initially, the story didn't captivate me, but as I became more acquainted with the new characters and reconnected with the original ones, my interest grew. The narrative gained momentum, engaging me in both the main and the emerging subplots.

The tale has been compelling for quite some time, and now it's enriched by the introduction of new characters with intriguing and detailed backgrounds. Set in the modern era, the story navigates through complex environments, with excursions to the past and future that are well articulated.

Each new character has the opportunity to share their backstory, allowing for a deeper connection with the audience.

Alexander Karim, a longtime companion of Brody, Veris, and Taylor, is in a state of self-reflection, questioning his life's purpose and his dual identity as a vampire and a doctor. His longstanding affection for the beautiful yet hesitant police lieutenant Sydney Stevens is also uncertain.

Alex's life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers that Brody’s trial lawyer, Rayner De Leon, the state's youngest appellate court judge, is drawn to him. Rayner, a vampire named Rafael who has known Brody and Veris since the fifth century, cautiously entices Alex into a relationship, leading to unforeseen outcomes for both.

However, a calculated hit-and-run incident brings Sydney back into Alex's life at a time when her defenses are lowered, making her vulnerable. Yet, mysteries about Sydney linger. Who attempted to murder her? And why does she insist Alex was present, despite his lack of recollection?

A kiss transports Alex and Sydney to Alex's cherished desert, where he discovers that Taylor isn't the sole time traveler. Questions accumulate rapidly, and Sydney's hidden past, revealed by Rafael's temporal intervention, ignites the fuse.

The ensuing explosion is literal and metaphorical, shaking the foundations of their lives and uncovering secrets that could alter their futures forever.

This time travel novel features two super-hot alpha vampire heroes and explicit sex scenes. Do not read this book if frank sexual language offends you.

Wow !!!! This fourth book in this Time Travel Ménage series is so dang sensual it's amazing my eye's didn't burn up reading it. You have the original three time traveling but not always together and you know what they say, "be careful or you'll change the future". Yeah they discover in there latest adventure that something drastic changed things in their own future during a previous experience which has brought about good and not so good things. If things aren't done to correct this their future together will be destroyed. The author has a tremendous ability to make us feel their love and sexual passion for one another and the stories she brings us in their time travel gives adventure and danger laced with colorful history just as descriptive as their lovemaking. That's it cause I don't give spoilers, I try to give you a description of the excitement and feelings it gives me as a reader. If your a paranormal reader who enjoys erotic passions and love all warped up in a wonderfully written story you HAVE to get this book. I can't wait to read what happens next. Thank you Tracy for another wonderful story.

Completely enthralling action and interesting characters.
I couldn't put this one down! There are wickedly smart plot twists (and turns) as time travel gets more complicated and plays havoc with the characters' lives. Ingenious use of time travel action and adventure creates mind blowing situations and interesting surprises.

I loved being there to 'watch' the slow evolution of a new trio of beautifully portrayed characters. This book features three new main characters, introduced by degrees in the first 4 novels of the series, as well as adding to the life and love story of Brody, Veris & Taylor.

I highly recommend this 4th book in the series but urge you to start at book one and include Moments books too. Every novel in the series contributes to building rich characters, complex relationships and action that all has a critical impact on future novels.

I love to read Tracy's books. The Kiss Across Time books are awesome. I love how each new story builds on the relationships of previous books. Each moves forward while filling in the back story along the way. There are the surprises we see now that weren't evident during the first pass of a storyline.
I highly recommend this series.

Ugghhh does Tracy everrr write a bad and not immersive books?! The only complaint i have was there was quite a number of grammar mistakes, wrong spelling and wrong use of words and also Rafael's name would turned into Raphael back and forth. Otherwise, to the next book!!! #goawaycovid19 #getwellsoonmum

Sexy vampires and time travel. A combination sure to produce steamy, sexy scenes. Not only does Kiss Across Deserts deliver hot sex scenes, there is also an engaging plot to go along with it. The one caveat - if you haven't read the previous books in the series you might find yourself a little lost at times. The heroes and heroine from those books feature heavily in the plot, having a history with the current heroes.

Sydney Stevens is dealing with a demanding job and she seems to be a bit of a loner. Her work is her life. Sydney is a detective although this was not apparent at the beginning. There were clues alluding to what she did but I would have preferred it being stated rather than guessing until it was finally revealed. Syndney has struck up an odd friendship with Alex Karim, who keeps asking her out, she continues to decline. This relationship I found intriguing because it was new for both of them and they were each coming from very different places in their lives.

Alex is working through some serious issues and doesn't seem to know what he wants when it comes to relationships. His confusion leads to a stressful situation with Sydney and Rafael. Alex is also a doctor doing research into time travel and at first it was a little murky as to what he is searching for. Some clarity early on would have been helpful.

Enter Rafael. He is attracted to Alex and makes that attraction known. This is all new to Alex which Rafael takes into consideration as he pursues a relationship between the two of them. But this doesn't last and Alex is again alone. The dynamics between Rafael and Alex were well written with both men showing how their long pasts have affected their present attitude concerning relationships. But that's all about to change as these two men realize what is missing from their lives.

The time travel aspect was interesting but what I really enjoyed was the relationship between Alex, Sydney and Rafael. How they come together, meshing their lives into one. The dynamics are at first difficult to see how they might combine their lives but as the story progresses, we see the three were meant to be together.

This was a solid addition to the Kiss Across Time series. I would recommend reading the previous books since they give the additional background stories needed to make this series feel complete.

This is book four in the series and this time we will get a new ménage. We have meet Alex in the previous books but now we get to see him as the H in this one. He is framed for a crime he hasn't committed and when he meet Rafe, one of his defenders sparks fly, but Alex has been pursuing Sydney for awhile and he wants them both. Rafe and Sydney are just wonderful for Alex especially since he is trying to find love and what is ailing him. Marit of course is this story and we are wondering what is in story for this leader and the other vampires. I love that Sydney is able to time travel also but you all know that one wrong move and it can change the future. This was a wonderful addition to this series and I wonder what is going to happen next.

I was given a copy of this book for a honest review...

Swept away, that's what this series does to me. I absolutely love this time traveling series with it's vampires and humans. The author has a way of writing the time traveling with a seamless style that keeps you wanting more. I'm normally not a fan of triad relationships even though this one doesn't start out that way, but this one just works. The relationships jump around until they all finally settle but it's well worth the read. The chemistry between the three main characters is so sexy and loving.
The time traveling in this book is unlike the previous three and we get more of Brody, Veris and Taylor plus their daughter, which was a great surprise.

I was very disappointed with this book. I really liked the other books in this series so I was looking forward to reading this. I could not seem to connect to the characters they all just seemed flat and one dimensional. Which is weird because I liked Alex in the other books. I had a real problem with Sydney as she came off as stupid and selfish when she was supposed to be some tough cop at the end she just stands there and waits to be rescued. This may be the end of this series for me unfortunately.
