He’s the hottest man I’ve ever seen. And then…he speaks. And I realize who he is. The world knows him as John Brandt—the genius billionaire tech entrepreneur and investor. I have always thought of him as my brother’s annoying, nerdy best friend. He pulled my pigtails and called me Tiny Dancer. I put rubber snakes in his sleeping bag and called him Johnny B. Nerdballs. Now he needs a pretend girlfriend for an important business trip to England, New York, and our hometown. Says he doesn’t want to bring someone he’d have to make an effort with and he thought of me. He can help me with my ballet career, but more importantly, I was hoping to bring a cocky rich guy to his knees this summer. Everybody wins! He may still be a nerd in the streets, but he has optimized his firmware performance between the sheets. Every time he opens his mouth, I can’t believe this guy’s for real. Every time he touches me, I have to remind myself that this relationship is fake.
* This Revised Edition of Sexy Nerd is a complete rewrite of the original Sexy Nerd that was published in 2018. It is over 20,000 words longer than the original version. The general structure and main characters of the story are the same, the best parts are still here, but many details and plot points have been updated and expanded.
Amazon Top 25 and USA Today bestselling author Kayley Loring spent many years as a screenwriter (under a different name) in Los Angeles before moving to the Pacific Northwest to live out her childhood dream of being a Disney heroine who talks and sings to woodland creatures. When not trying to keep animals alive, she’s writing steamy romantic comedy novels, obviously. She’s breathing cleaner air, writing dirtier words, and staring at her computer screen until her eyeballs dry out instead of prancing around Southern California in miniskirts and going to the hair salon. Still waiting for the woodland creatures to clean her house, though.
Read or listen to Kayley’s books when you want humor, heat, and heart. You’ll enjoy top-notch banter, strong heroines, lovable characters you’d want to know in real life and you’ll swoon over perfectly imperfect book boyfriends. All Kayley Loring books are steamy open door romance. Be sure to check out her next-level audiobooks!
I received this book as an ARC. All opinions are my own.
Well. Don’t think I’m a Kayley Loring fan. I’ve had several of her books suggested to me on Kindle Unlimited. BUT this was a DNF for me.
Call me a prude or whatever, but this was unnecessary spice, to the extent that all I could picture was some cheap late night movie.
The characters were not enjoyable to me. John’s “nerd” characteristics were so far fetched in combination with his sexy persona and abilities. Olivia was supposed to be a ballerina, but her personality made her seem more like an exotic dancer. The romance felt rushed, even with their history.
My favorite part of what I read was the MCM bungalow.
First Impressions: Professional dancer, Olivia, reconnects with her older brother's childhood friend, John, and rekindle a secret, shared crush.
Pacing: This one is a quickie. It moves fast and the passage of time (about a month or so) feels natural.
Character development: Olivia (FMC) is a very hardworking ballerina trying to break into more prestigious roles at her current company, despite a few hurdles along the way. John (MMC) is a very self-assured genius businessman who (almost) always has his eye on the prize. Olive learns to trust in John's kindness, and slowly realizes that he truly has blossomed from the awkward teenager she once knew. John learns that not all if life's problems can be solved with spreadsheets and statistics, and finds new joy in trusting his heart.
World Building: It's a modern setting, with several locations. There's just enough description of the various locations to feels authentic, but not enough to overwhelm the novella's tight storytelling.
Romance: Olivia and John, despite, initially seeming very different, are so very similar: they make calculated choices, trust in themselves over other people, and severely guard their hearts from hurt and disappointment. Once those similarities start to emerge, the love really flows beautifully.
Spice: There's quite a bit of angsty desire from the start. The MMCs make no secret of their physical attraction to each other from the beginning. There are a few creative, spicy scenes, but they only enhance the romance.
Errors and Consistency: I spent a few extra minutes looking up some dance-industry terms that may have needed a footnote or endnotes, but otherwise the story was clear and concise.
Overall experience: This was a cute little novella. I don't think this story would have worked as anything other than a unrequited young love/second chance story as a lot of the romance relied heavily on the past tense. That being said, it was cute, charming, and a little spicy.

“Now I feel lonely when I think about all the time we didn’t spend together. And all the things we haven’t said. And all the things we might never say out loud.” - Olivia John grew up with Olivia, the little sister of his best friend, he loved her his whole life, but couldn’t act on it. Once as an adult he thought he was ready but circumstances didn’t allow for that, so he pulled back and planned. Today that plan is coming together. This nerd is now a billionaire genius and she’s a struggling ballerina. He proposes a fake dating scenario that is not all fake for him, and if his plan works, it won’t be for her either. He needs to close a big deal for his business and being in a stable relationship is a plus, her being a ballerina is a huge bonus, and them sharing suites in the beautiful European landscape is a recipe for romance. “And I’m so proud of him. Not just because he’s so handsome and has a such a fantastic penis….” - Olivia John needs to learn to balance his obsessive work life to … have a life. Olivia has goals that she will not put aside until she’s achieved them and she needs to learn that she doesn’t have to do it all on her own. It’s okay to accept some help. It’s also okay to give in to those thoughts she’s had since she was a teenager. John was left alone by his parents so often, the Montgomery home was his surrogate family, and I love how her possession of him was so powerful that given the chance, she let his parents know what they missed out on. The updated book is full of fun Kayley Loring banter, quippy one liners and scenes that will have you laughing out loud. Each one leading up to spicy times that will leave you wanting more just as John does to Olivia. “…haven’t given him any impression whatsoever that my c!it is royally engorged, my panties are perpetually drenched, and all I want is to get railed by him ASAP.” - Olivia I really enjoyed this book and would have read it all in one sitting if my family would have left me alone. They really are rude. I really recommend this updated version of a classic favorite – you’ll love it!
Pittsburgh represent! As someone who was born and raised in SW Pittsburgh for most of my life, it was amazing to see it featured in a book. Every once in a while it pops up, but usually just as a small mention. Seeing it here felt new, exciting, and refreshing.
Location connection aside, this book was hilariously well written. I absolutely loved how socially awkward John is—it feels incredibly accurate. At times it almost feels like he may have something underlying and undiagnosed. Quirks that honestly just add to his charm and make him a refreshing character.
Olivia, while not socially awkward like John, is funny in her own more outgoing and self-assured way. These two characters are very different, yet also surprisingly similar. I loved watching her stand up for what she believed in and finally find the courage to speak her mind. This is one of those books that keeps you smiling and constantly wanting to know what happens next.
One thing I immediately noticed was how John truly takes the time to become the best version of himself before trying to pursue anything with Olivia. Instead of the typical “you’re too good for me” mindset, he actively works every day to improve himself in all aspects of his life. That level of self-awareness was refreshing to see, especially because so many of us carry our own baggage and expect others to accept it without realizing how unfair that can be.
Throughout the story, both characters push each other to question themselves and step slightly outside their comfort zones—not to change one another, but to grow into the best versions of themselves. The way they influence each other is incredibly engaging, making this story completely binge-worthy from start to finish.
Sexy Nerd: Revised Edition by Kayley Loring is an absolute delight.
This book had me laughing, swooning, and completely hooked from beginning to end. It is the perfect mix of humor, chemistry, and heart.
The dynamic between the main characters is pure gold. Watching the heroine reconnect with her brother’s once nerdy best friend, who has now grown into a ridiculously attractive billionaire tech genius, is so much fun. Their childhood history adds such a playful layer to the story. The teasing, the memories of pranks, and the way they still push each other’s buttons made their relationship feel natural and entertaining.
John Brandt completely stole the show for me. Beneath the brilliant tech mind and awkward charm is a man who is unexpectedly confident, funny, and incredibly swoon worthy. His mix of nerdy intelligence and quiet confidence makes him such a refreshing hero. Every scene with him felt lively and engaging.
The fake dating setup creates so many great moments as they travel together and pretend to be a couple while their chemistry keeps getting harder to ignore. What starts as a simple arrangement slowly turns into something much deeper, and watching those feelings develop felt both exciting and heartfelt.
Kayley Loring’s writing is witty, fast paced, and full of personality. The banter is fantastic and the characters feel vibrant and real. This revised edition clearly adds even more depth and detail to an already fun story, making it even more enjoyable.
If you love fake dating, childhood rivals turned lovers, and a hero who proves that nerdy can be incredibly sexy, this book is a must read. It is charming, funny, and packed with chemistry.
Sexy Nerd 🩰 Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes R & Kayley Loring for trusting me with this ARC!🩷
John Brandt was the hottest man I have ever seen, until I realized who he was, what he was.To me.
THAT WAS SO GOOD.SO SO GOOD. To start with,we have a fake relationship ( aka one of my favorite tropes out there),that was perfectly written & we had the most suitable characters for that kind of trope. Olivia had that naughty/loving vibe in her,a personality that is literally WRITTEN for fake dating, and John was just being dragged by her,and trust me he was EXACTLY where he wanted to be.🫠 Apart from their really smut heavy romance,we have two really interesting people here, that are literally so ambitious and the support that they give to each other in that is what makes them achieve everything in the end.I just love to see couples like those in books! Now,what really stood out for me was the nerdy boy rep that we had. Nerdy girls are usually seen in romances, and are mostly viewed as cutetsy and sweet, however what this story really showed is that the same thing is not the reality for the boys.Nerdy men are expected to have that huge, magnificent glow up and leave their nerdy interests and way of leaving behind, with that meaning ,to gain this big imposing personality.I am pretty sure we have seen this A MILLION TIMES.Yet,Loring taught us that this is not the case, that this is should NOT be the case, and I am really thankful I read this story, and yes I want to see MORE nerdy boys out there. As you understood, this one should already be on your TBR!🫶🏻 Out on Mar,20th🍪 4⭐
First and foremost, I would like to thank you Kayley Loring and LoveNotes for the eARC, I'm absolutely ecstastic that I took part in the ARC process of your upcoming release.
Before going absolutely crazy over our sexy nerd, I have to say this story was the sweetest book I've read this year. We all love the fake dating trope, but Johnny's plan to finally make Olivia fall in love with him was chefs kiss. It was immaculately done in a fast paced way, without making me feel like it was rushed. The plot was well executed and the character development was impeccable considering this was around 300 pages long. In less words, this book is written amazingly.
Johnny Brandt is the best part of this novel, in my opinion. Whoever said smart isn't sexy, they have yet to meet John. His dorkiness is adorable and yet so attractive. His need to overly explain everything was so fun to read, especially explaining how punching someone would work. Was the excessively intelligent explanation absolutely nerdy? Yes. But it was also the hottest thing I've read lately. A man who protects you with banter and not fists is just as good as the good ol' "touch her and die" vibe we all love from our book boyfriends.
Olivia complimented Johnny perfectly. Her sass and quippy remarks totally made our MMC come out of his shell and reward us with the best banter and the hottest sex scenes ever. John Brandt may be a total nerd on the streets, but he is a FREAK in the sheets. And we love that!
All in all, whoever lives for reading a good fake dating trope should totally give this book a try. It's well worth it!

Thank you Love Notes PR and Kayley Loring for the ARC of Sexy Nerd.
I generally love books where one or both of the main characters are nerdy/extremely intelligent, so obviously, I signed up to receive an ACR of this book.
John and Olivia have known each other since she was very little because of him being her brother's best friend and spending a lot of time at their house growing up due to his absentee workaholic parents. Olivia had a crush on John when she was little, and he has liked her since she was 17 (I believe their age gap is 3-4 years, so nothing creepy). They haven't seen each other since they both left their hometown, except for one time when John (without Olivia's knowledge) went to one of her ballet performances. That's when he decided that she's the one for him, but that he needed to work on himself first, being the socially awkward nerd that he perceives himself as.
In the present time of the story, John convinces Olivia to enter into a fake dating relationship with him. We are told that he wants to spend that time (about a month) showing her that they should be together for real. But I feel like his thoughts are all over the place, and I'm not really convinced that that is the way he is going until towards the end of the story. It really annoys me that he allegedly has this grand plan, but his thoughts are not convincing. Otherwise, John seems like a really great guy who tries to better the world and the lives of those he cares about. Olivia is a strong and independent FMC, but she also annoys me a bit from time to time.
All in all, not a bad read. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 out of 5.
Sexy Nerd by Kayley Loring Tech genius entrepreneur and billionaire John Brandt, who also happens to be Olivia Montgomery’s brother’s best friend. John was basically raised by the Montgomery’s as his parents were always away for work. Growing up, John had a crush on Olivia but they haven’t seen each other in 4 years. He shows up at her ballet recital and watches her, without her knowing and takes her favourite flowers-lavenders to give to her backstage when another man was also there to bring her flowers-roses her least favourite flowers.
Days later, John shows up to Olivia’s work where she waitresses part time and asks to be put in Olivia’s section. John asks to talk to Olivia after her shift, and ends up walking her home. John shares that he needs a fake girlfriend and asks Olivia to full the role. John asks Olivia to complete a non-disclosure agreement, and accompany him on business trips to England, New York, and their hometown. John explains with his businesses that he doesn’t have the time to get to know someone. Part of the deal: a credit card for incidentals, a wardrobe, living costs, monthly allowance and he will pay off her student loans. Plus, he will help advance her ballet career. Olivia accepts John’s offer.
When John and Olivia are intimate, the passion is like nothing either has experienced. Their journey is unconventional, it pulls on your emotions and you will be yelling at the book at times. Will this be anything more than the one month arrangement or will it spark into something more? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I loved this updated funny, heartfelt and steamy, friends to lovers romance! John and Olivia have known each other since they were young, with John being Olivia's brothers best friend. Olivia thought they were both such nerds, never seeing John as anything more. But John has been intrigued by her ever since he saw her dancing on stage. He loved her sass and how she challenged him, calling him Johnny B. Nerdballs, but his tiny dancer is young and off limits. Now years later, he has become a successful Venture Capitalist businessman and when he needs a girlfriend to help him close an important business deal, Olivia is his only choice. Olivia is working hard as a company ballerina, looking for her big break. When John makes a sudden appearance, looking sexier than she ever imagined, and makes her an offer to help her career, she jumps at the opportunity. I loved how Loring expanded their story, weaving between past and present scenes, allowing us to see how their relationship evolves and grows. John is a workaholic but was so sweet, awkward, and totally swoon worthy as he tried to win Olivia's heart. Olivia is fun, sassy, and independent. They were complete opposites in many ways, but were so perfect together. It is so much fun watching John and Olivia discovering who they are as adults as their fiery attraction becomes more than they ever imagined. This is a fun, witty, and sexy story that is so full of heart, and made me completely happy!
Why can't your brother's nerdy friend also be the hot guy?
Olivia and John have known each other since they were children, as John has been best friends with Olivia's brother forever. He was always the studious, smart one, while she danced around all the time. Now, as adults, John proposes a one-month fake relationship to help secure a supporter for a start-up he's working with. Only, neither has mentioned the crushes they've harbored over the years, and it doesn't take long for fake to become real. But John's mind is still very analytical, and when Olivia sees him having to work through the benefits of being together, she wonders if any of it was real.
Olivia and John get their happy ending in this standalone book.
This was super adorable, and I loved that even though they were falling in love, they still had their playful relationship they had while growing up there as well. I do wonder what John's plan would have been to approach Olivia had it not been for her brother asking him to check in on her, and if he ever would have felt ready. It would be interesting to know how John's parents felt about the two of them getting engaged, or if, with Olivia's help, he slowly pushed them more out of his life in favor of more loving and supportive people. I do love that John was a typical nerd, but also not at the same time, and was written to be more attractive and attentive to his health and appearance. Though I wonder how much of that he had someone help him with prior to the book starting.
I received an advance review copy from Love Notes PR, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Olivia is a ballerina in San Francisco, John is a billionaire tech nerd who is one of the most sought after bachelors there is but to Olivia he will always be Johnny B. Nerdballs and her older brother’s best friend. John has always had a thing for Olivia and two years ago he decided he was going to marry her once he was worthy enough for her, what he doesn’t know is she has always had a crush on him too. He devises a fake dating contract to try to convince her they should’ve together for real. They both fall for one another and it terrifies them because they’re both so career focused. They have some adorably cute and some awkward moments, some very hot spice, and some truly tender and sweet moments too. Will they get over their fear & make each other crazy with their banter as well as the happiest they can be and get that HEA? Of course! This was super cute and poor Johnny is a very socially awkward human (and seems possibly to be undiagnosed neurospicy &/or on the autism spectrum) and Olivia is the one to push him (& also seems undiagnosed adhd). They both push each other to grow, to be less rigid in their ways of discipline as a means of control, and to open up to being the best and happiest versions of themselves with each other while realizing they both were always enough. It was a quick & cute read!
Another banger from Kayley! I never read the OG version of Sexy Nerd so I had no idea what I was in for. This was a really fun, charming and spicy romance between a ballerina and her brother's billionaire best friend, who fake dated his way into her heart. I loved all the nerd talk and awkward conversations with John. I loved that Olivia wasn't a snooty, prim and proper ballerina, but instead a horned up influencer who is waiting for her big moment.
Much of this story is Johnny trying to resist Olivia to stay focused on work. It's highly entertaining and very satisfying when he nearly always gives in. Plus, he's a nerd with a very naughty side. Yum! Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke perform in duet and were so good! Erin is perfect for Kayley romcoms because she's funny, sassy and sweet! And JC with the nerd speak and dirty talk? Yes please! As a delicious bonus, we also get to hear JC sing a little AND act miserable and be hilarious at the same time. It all works and I really loved it all!
So, this should have been a book I loved. It has everything I adore in romance books. According to the blurb anyway. The book itself, not so much. I spent a lot of the book torn between thinking it was brilliant, and not knowing whether I was enjoying it. There were moments that I thought were great, and others that had been wondering what the heck I was reading.
Olivia was far more likeable prior to getting with Johnny, and Johnny, he was badly handled, and I just couldn't get behind him if im being honest. She goes from finding him a nerd to remeeting him when he's super rich and suddenly OMG hes the hottest thing ever and the smut just comes of not good. They lack chemistry, and there is very little actual development of it.
This quote, between an eleven year old child and a grown up adult almost had me dnfing.
“He’s terribly hot.” “I know. I let him get away with a lot because of that,” I say. “It’s a problem.” “Do you let him do things to your bum?” “What kind of things?” “Do you let him put his willy in there?” “Not yet. I’d need a really nice engagement ring first.”
So yea, I wanted to love this way more than I did.
This was genuinely hard for me to get through, I considered DNFing many times. I felt like the continuous mentioning of what Olivia was like when she was a literal child (especially in SPICY scenes) was extremely unsettling and strange. All I could envision was John, an adult, sexualizing a minor. I tried to push through, focusing on their relationship now that they’re both consenting adults but then I was faced with a new challenge… The flashback chapters; Which confirmed all of my fears about John (Ex. Chapter 7). Not sure why no one else is talking about this??? There were MANY unnecessary sexual comments, innuendos, and scenarios involving minors.
Minimal depth to any of the characters, which confused me further— This is the revised edition with “more plot” but it still feels so underdeveloped. Not for me whatsoever but completed in exchange for honest review!
Brother’s Best Friend 👀 Fake Dating 🤭 Billionaire 💸 Opposites Attract ☯️ Insta-Lust 🫠 Ballerina FMC 🩰 Small Age-Gap (4+ years) 🕰️ Taboo Romance 👫🏻
This was such a fun, brother's best friend, fake relationship romance with hilarious banter and so much heart.
The Nerd and the Ballerina! These two were so alike in many ways and opposites in others. I loved watching John's brain work. Once he figured out that being with Olivia was his endgame, he immediately starts planning. That's his superpower, besides being a genius. He could be so analytical but also very swoony. Olivia was so sassy and witty. I just loved her sass. She has always given Johnny a hard time throughout the years so their banter was highly entertaining.
These two could not have been more perfect together. I love how Olivia made John lose control, in a good way, and to see the world differently. I love how supportive and proud he was of her. This was such a joy to read!
I absolutely loved this book! It was fun, flirty and lighthearted. It’s all of my favourite tropes in one, sweet story:
✨brothers best friend ✨billionaire MMC ✨fake dating
Olivia and Johnny are perfect for each other. Their banter was so funny and made this story that much sweeter! I actually found myself laughing out loud at times. As awkward and nerdy as John is, he is equal amounts (if not more) sexy!!!
I have been in a bit of a book slump - this is the first book i’ve read this year - but this story has definitely sparked my love for reading again.
Thank you for the opportunity to read their story before the rerelease of Sexy Nerd! I cannot wait to read more from this author. 🤍
*please note that I was provided a copy of the revised story and this was my first time reading it!*
i absolutely loved this book! it was such a cute, fluffy yet sexy romance. the contrast between olivia and johnny was literally perfectly written — yet in the end they’re really not that different after all!
the way things progressed throughout the novel was perfect, the way johnny reacted was so cute and shown that despite his constant attraction towards olivia, it’s never really been too lust-driven.
olivia is so relatable — her attitude and sass very alluring — and she’s very quick witted, and i loved her overall character. she didn’t take BS from anyone and followed her dream.
i also really enjoyed that monty wasn’t that big of an obstacle and trusted his best friend to take care of his little sister, despite his overprotective behaviour.
My first book by Kayley Loring and I didn't read the original, but found this book to be quite enjoyable. Olivia and John grew up together and had crushes on each other, but John was Olivia's brother's best friend and a total nerd. Olivia, on the other hand, was a ballerina. I liked how much they teased each other and how they came across each other as adults. The way John's childhood shaped how he became as an adult was well done. Their fake relationship was quite hot and fast paced, but not without the challenges. They had so many sweet moments together that really only 2 people who knew each other for so long could really be able to do that with each other.
Loved the dual POV and most of the story in the San Francisco Bay Area. Great banter, hot spice, and some tender moments with wise adults.
ARC review Antecdotal thoughts while reading Olivia - ballerina John - billionaire Well this be a second chance romance? Childhood crush? Best Friend's sibling, got it. Where you taking us (because I'm going too) Johnny?? That order... very exacting. Iris, what's the plan?? Do tell Ok Johnny, your money is speaking Olivia's language. Shoot your shot dude!! "genitally abundant" that's a new one 🎵 Easy like Sunday morning. 🎵 Oh but it is Johnny, especially with the previous paragraph. 😂 🎆🎇🎆 "let's talk about something less provocative, like politics." 😆 Monty... you called him on it 🤣 He just called you out for being a hangry person...and you proved it. Oh Olivia, your Dame name 🤣🤣 Olivia! You told them off! ✋️ Merrick, you are great at getting your point made and having others think/reflect while also not thinking and filtering their thoughts. Dang Johnny $$$ ♾️ 💔 🤒 🍲
I loved this!! 🩷 And I absolutely loved John/Johnny/Johnny B. Nerdballs Brandt!! 🤓💙He made me LOL so much! 😂 And he loves Star Wars, for goodness sake!! Loved all the Star Wars references. 🖤✨ His whole character, all his quirks, the way he said things & explained things…just everything about him…awesome. I love him. 🥰 I loved him & Olivia together, their love story & history together, their dynamic & the way they challenged each other, love the relationship he has with her family, that was so sweet. I loved that her brother stood up for him and helped her to understand him better & supported them, instead of being against them together, like I’ve read in other books. This was fun, funny, sweet & sexy! I enjoyed it immensely. 😊🩷
Sexy Nerd is Olivia and John’s friends to lovers, forbidden romantic comedy. Who would have thought your brother’s nerdy friend would turn into the hottest guy on the planet……… Olivia and John have known each other since they were children because he was her brother’s best friend but now everyone’s grown up and friendship has taken on a whole new meaning. Both of them have secretly hidden their crushes until John proposes a one month fake relationship to help him secure a start up he is working on. So what happens when real feelings come into play. This is a well written, entertaining, witty and steamy read with characters I fell hard and fast for. I swooned and I smiled as I cheered this couple on.
This was a sweet story about a ballerina FMC and billionaire nerd MMC who happens to be her brother’s best friend. He convinces to go fake date him for work purposes but given their mutual attraction and childhood history albeit sassy, things start moving a lot pretty quickly. A few well written spicy scenes. Overall a nice read. Tropes: brother best friend, fake engagement, billionaire. Cons: the beginning of the book had a lot of ballet and dance references which I guess add substance but it felt a little excessive. Pros: they have great banter and you really see their affection unfold and develop over time.
John is a super hot, sexy genius who is determined to win the love of his life. Getting Olivia to see him as more than her brother’s best friend will be the biggest challenge of his life but John has a plan. When Olivia is approached by Johnny B Nerdballs with a proposal that will help her career, she never thinks it will also change her future. He’s not the young annoying boy anymore and she isn’t the a little girl. She has adult feelings about him but they will have to navigate this unknown territory for both of them.
This is funny and super hot but also a little sad. I really felt for little Johnny. I loved it and highly recommend it.
John has been waiting for a chance with Olivia for ages, and his plan is now in place. He has accounted for every variable -- except for Olivia herself. She has her own opinions about John's plans and optimisations and such. Watching these two mess with each other is hilarious. They have such lovely chemistry. The audiobook was fantastic. Erin Mallon is always fun to listen to, and she did a perfect job as Olivia. Jason Clarke, though, completely outdid himself. He sounds like he is smiling through so much of this, and it's adorable. Toward the end, I was crying but I wasn't sure if it was from laughing or feeling bad for John. It was an amazing performance.
He's the hottest man I've ever seen. And then…he speaks. And I realize who he is.

john and Olivia what can I say other than I’m glad to read there story it was cute fun and witty and so so sweet and the epilogue was everything ❤️ so much that I wanted more !
This book is delicious, delightful, and definitely steamy. It has all the tropes, but with twists. Insta-love, but based on decades of knowing each other. Beauty and the beast, except flip that script! Brother's best friend, but not the way you're used to seeing it done.
You'll laugh, you'll probably need a fan at some point (okay, more than one point), and you'll turn pages obsessively. Unless you're a pearl-clutcher, in which case you'll need smelling salts.
Fun story of family friends that antagonized one another while growing up. Olivia is now a popular ballerina at a San Francisco company. John a billionaire in the tech world. He is also needs some assistance for social interactions. He seeks her out to help him win a contact. In turn he helps her financially and with contacts in the ballet world. Fun banter, lots of feelings, some miscommunication and it’s steamy.
ARC REVIEW 💙💗 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️ Cute, fun, witty, and so adorably sweet. Banter was 👌🏼🤌🏻👌🏼 I loved it, there wasn’t much of a “break” between the MC’s but it worked for this story and the characters. I honestly want more of John and Olivia it that 10year span in the epilogue! And more of baby nerdballs 🤣🥹
