“Your drummer has a problem. You know that don’t you?”
Wow! What an instalment in this series! Please tell me there is a fourth book?!
I felt really sorry for Lark in this story, to lose what she lost hurt her so much, and it was clear to see how much her grief was affecting her. Talk about coming right out of the blue too!
I shake my head while never taking my eyes off her face. “I’m sorry, Lark.”
The storyline in this was good; we got to meet Lark’s father!! And we got to see the first leg of the American Singer competition!! So much happening!
“We’ll let the bands draw straws to see who goes first.”
There was a little bit of romance, but not a lot, but that kind of fitted in with the rest of the story.
“Bean leans toward me and kisses me. It’s a deep kiss and I like the feeling of his firm lips against mine.”
The ending to this was good, and I really hope there is another book in this series! Please tell me it doesn’t end like that?! I need more!! 7 out of 10
Lark Singer has faced some tough times, just growing up, being a socially awkward teen, and following a dream that she firmly believes in. To reach her goals, she will face emotional turmoil, insecurity, deceit and the pain of losing one of the best parts of her life. The next hurdle could make or break her dreams of being a rockstar and sharing her love of music with the world. Is she ready for what is to come?
Lark and the band have worked hard, played hard and are rock solid for the upcoming competition that could make or break her dreams, but life still has a way of getting in the way. Is the competition trying to get into her head with his ominous predictions and his offers of joining his band? Bean is hiding something and everyone knows but Lark, is she refusing to see the truth about her best friend? Will he put their dreams in jeopardy? It’s time to face the music, head on in every facet of Lark’s life, but is she ready for her past to collide with her tremulous present and the unknown of her future?
Starlight by Lisa Orchard stands above the crowd of wonderful YA reading. She tells the story of a young girl with hopes and aspirations on a mission to succeed and fulfill her dreams. As in life, that road is never smooth and the potholes of life threaten to throw her off course. Through it all, this strong character never gives up. Ms. Orchard gives us a tale to believe, a character to believe in and enough reality to make you cry, rant, and cheer! She knows how to set that big build up and pull her readers into an emotional embrace that makes every page come to life. Although geared to young adults, Ms. Orchard’s style will cross all age groups. Another hidden gem unveiled with nary a vamp in sight! I cannot recommend this series enough!

Lark was an okay character again in this one, and I felt really sorry for her at one point.
This installment is definately the best one in the series. It didn't drag at all as there was quite a lot going on, and finally getting to see the competition was exciting!
Overall, An enjoyable read, and the best in the series.

O-M-G!!!
What a devastating tragedy, I truly felt sorry for Lark. Her moment of triumph was turned in to a loss. She grieved and I felt her grieve. I felt like I could sense her loss dripping through the pages!
But I still can't believe it took her that long to accept what was happening to Bean and Stevie who knew what was happening long before Lark did. Took no action, nothing. Zilch. Zero. I couldn't believe they both acted like bystanders especially Stevie and took no action to help Bean.
In this book, we get to know more about Francine which was definitely an eye opener and I felt like we as the readers got a better understanding as to why she acted in a certain way and who she was!

This is definitely the best of the series. It was a great installment! I loved Lark. I thought I got to see more of the vulnerable side of Lark, which made me intrigued than the strong willed girl. This is a fantastic read. It is a YA contemporary story with music infused to it. I thought the story was great. The secondary characters were great as well. Can't believe that Also, I thought the ending was good. I was sad when . Overall, a quick read. Thank you Lisa Orchard for the opportunity to read this book.
Starlight was a lot more enjoyable to me than the previous book in the series. There were happy and fun filled moments, as well sadder ones. The story was gripping almost from the beginning, because I really wanted to see how certain things from the previous books were handled/resolved. There was still a lot of repetitiveness, too much for my taste, so that's why I gave it four stars. All in all though it was a very nice read and I'm looking forward to reading any future books in this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book to review. I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book - which I have done.

This is the third book in the Starlight Chronicles series and I hope it won’t be the last. If it is scheduled to be the last book in the series an epilogue would have been nice to tie up all the loose ends and the loose ends is what prevented me from giving it a 5 star rating. Orchard is a fairly new to me author since I’ve only read this series but I do plan to add her other books to my always growing TBR pile!
This book is YA and didn’t disappoint even though it’s only one hundred fifty pages long and not normally a genre that I read. This is an emotional read and there was a lot packed in to the story line with highs and lows. There was more romance in this story than the first two books with Bean and Lark getting closer and doing a lot of kissing. He always managed to keep her in control and could make her focus when her attention drifted to other things. Bean, Stevie and Lark were a team and their interactions showed the depth of their friendship. Their music and band was front and center and it was nice to see how the town rallied around them at the long awaited competition. They put their heart and soul into every note and I could feel the music pulsing and there was such energy to it. A horrific event casts a darkness to the story but it had realism in its telling and I could feel the emotions. It was nice that Lark and her mom continued to get closer although Lark didn’t always take her mom’s guidance well and didn’t always toe the line but her mom was still there for her every step of the way.
There were family and friends, twists and turns, music, jamming, the competition, school, the town, Lark’s dad, drugs, tears, loss, secrets, sadness, denial, anger, angst, sorrow and acceptance. There wasn’t a happily ever after but there could be if things continue to go well with their band, Starlight. We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we?
Favorite Quote: Bean’s radar must’ve picked up on my fear because he’s beside me now, draping his arm across my shoulders in that Beaner way that he has. “Chill,” he whispers in my ear. His breath tickles and sends an involuntary shudder through me.
Even though their music is rocking, and they’ve upped their practice time, Lark is beginning to realize that it may not be enough. Duane McIntyre, the boy’s whose nose she broke in grade school, has made it clear that he’s competing in the musical competition as well and he plans to win. With the competition coming up, things are starting to go downhill quick with Bean and Lark’s worried that if she doesn’t do something she’s going to lose the boy she loves and the musical career she dreams of. Things are beginning to unravel: the secret of her father’s identity has come to light, Bean is getting more elusive, and monetary items are beginning to disappear from the house. Lark feels she may only have her music and lyrics to get her through.
This is the third book in the series, and none of them are standalone, you need to read all of them to get the full story and to really love and appreciate Lark and the life she’s built around her. Heartache and tragedy make you open your eyes and realize that you can’t hide behind a bubble. My heart broke for Lark and her friends. I became emotionally attached to the characters in this story and love how Lisa Orchard brought them alive. I’m glad I read this series, even if it’s genre I don’t usually read. It opened my eyes and gave me an opportunity to explore this new genre and enjoy it.

Truth be told, I felt pity for Lark throughout the whole book. Learning about her father and then there's her denial and too late finding about Bean. I was hoping, really hoping that she would have obviously realized what was happening with regards to Bean but that was just disappointing.
At some point I just wanted to stop reading but I wanted to know how this one would end. I had an inkling just a tiny one and you can just imagine my reaction how it ended. I wonder why nothing could have been done about it. Sure, I knew the competition was going to be their breakthrough but I was hoping that them knowing/realizing about Bean would take more importance. With him getting the proper needed help. But I shall stop my ranting about that part.
I finally thought this would be the end but judging with how the ending and I meant the very last part, there has to be more to it than that.
I'm probably going to read thr next one just to know what would happen to Lark's ending.

The 3rd book in The Starlight Chronicles and OMG! What a fantastic book. As soon as I started it I couldn’t put it down.
Lark, Bean & Stevie don't have long to go until the band competition and the pressure is on them all to make sure they achieve their dreams and win. But with fierce competition and secrets within the band, will Lark be able to cope with all that is about to come out and threaten her future and the future of the band.
I'm not going to say too much about the story line as I don't want to spoil it for you but if you have already read the first two then you won’t need no persuading. But for those who haven’t read them yet, then get reading as you don’t want to miss these. Lisa Orchard has done an amazing job and certainly throws in plenty of shockers along the way.
Another fabulous 5 star read by Lisa Orchard and I’m looking forward to reading what you have for us next
wow and sad but still a lesson to learn . so what do you do when you know your best friend is stealing from you but is maybe doing more harm to himself in the long run . { side not what people do does affect others . remember that when you do something that you think only affects you , doing drugs affects you but it also affects others in your life whether it be at work , home , school or everyday life . } and what do you do when you find out something that changes you more than anything else . and how do you go on in your life . and play music when the one person in your life you never thought would not be in your life til the end of time . and what do you do when you must let your nemesis in and trust him . can you let go of the past and the hurt or to keep a hold of it and never heal . find out by buying , reading and reviewing .
Lark, Bean and Stevie are in a band together, competing against Duane 'Duh-Wayne' and his band for a chance to be on a show. As the week goes by, Lark finds out about her father who dumped her mother before she was even born and becomes suspicious when she sees Bean, her boyfriend, hanging around a guy in black at her school. I will not continue with the story as to not spoil it. Overall, I think this story is very well written but could have done with a little bit less of the 'let's jam' or 'after we were done jamming'. It ended very well and left me wanting for more, especially as I wanted to see the relationship between Lark and Duane progress. It was very well written, I can't wait to read more from these series. I received this book (ARC) in exchange of an honest review.

This book is the 3rd book in the Starlight Chronicles... and I just fell in love with it!!!!!!!!! It was such a page turner.
The character of Lark Singer, shows how she is faced with some struggles. I do love how she follows her dream and she along with the band work really hard for the upcoming competition they have. This competition is everything for them, because it can make or break their dreams.
I am trying not to give too much away, but omg the story line is so interesting, it is definitely a must read book!!!
To be able to capture the emotions of a teenager perfectly is a gift. I know when I pick up a YA series that I am going to be transported into the past, my awkward teenage years, Lisa Orchard is able to do just that. My heart breaks for Lark, and even though I felt like shaking her at times, I understood were she was coming from. I was able through the whole series to relate to Lark. I felt that it was a bit rushed but it didn't take away from the story. I really hope we get more of Lark's story and look forward to other books by Lisa.

This is the first book I read in this series, so that may have prevented me from connecting to the characters as much as I would have liked. The author does dialogue really well, and that is what I most enjoyed. There were some unexpected twists in the story but it dragged a bit in places. Overall a quick read; would definitely appeal to anyone who's into music or has ever dreamed of joining a band.
This was a really good story, it is part of a series. I generally do not like series but this one was able to pull me in. Bean was a good guy who got into some bad stuff. Bean is in a band with Lark the leading lady. Lark was a nice girl who just wants a better life. I didn't love this story but it had some good plot twists and characters. Lisa Orchard wrote a great story that seems to lead to a great series.

The Starlight Chronicles just keep getting better. With the competition right around the corner, Lark and her band are in top form. The dark spot is that Lark’s grade school nemesis is also competing and is doing what he can to get into her head, or is that really his angle? Since the talk about her father, Lark and her mom have a new relationship. In fact everything seems to have a positive spin, until tragedy strikes leaving Lark to try to pick up the pieces. It was great to Stevie fleshed out a bit. He was seeming a bit like a cardboard cutout, just there to be a third member of the band and turned into an integral part of the story. The drama with Lark’s dad is far from over and the loose threads of Lark’s association with Dwayne still need to be reeled in. All the characters are again more developed, more real, than previously and the story is better for it. I did feel that Bean’s story line was a abruptly dealt with. There was so much potential there. It does make it seem that I may have been right about my feeling back in the book 1 about how important Dwayne is going to become.
This third installment is well written, with emotion and a heart, and with some interesting twists to keep you coming back for what has to be a fourth installment.?.

Okay this is the last part of the series and I feel like meh and WTF. I saw that the series had potential and I hoped this last book would be the best in the series due to progress in the author and books but this is just a flat fall. Im sorry but this book was just nothing for me. I was so bored out of my mind and everything was so pretictable. I can see that this book and this series is really a young adult series and nothing for adults becuase there is, nothing in this book that is for adults.
Lark is the most stupid and naive character I have meet in a long time and I so dislike her and well I feel a bit sorry for her but still NO. And in this book, meh no.
I do not like to write reviews that isnt good but I have to express my honest oppinion and I barley finished this book due to how bored I was. and when I read reviews it feels like I didnt read the same book as other people but it is clear we have different taste and this didnt do anything for me.
I see potential in the author and I think she can write great but this book and this series is not for me. Maybe young adults would like it and enjoy it but as an adult there is nothing for you. The story is thin, the language is easy. But maybe if you dont want a book where you have to think, you would like the series.
This is the third book in The Starlight Chronicles. With the Band Starlight practicing hard and trying to get ready for the competition, which is coming up fast. We see Lark see things more positive now, she is off to good relationship with her mom again. Until things right around start to fall apart and will Lark be able to pick up the pieces this time? Lark finds out that Duane is also going to be in the competition and this is one thing she does need from her past. Bean is slowing unraveling will Lark be able to say her true love? Highly recommend this book

This has been a great series from start to now. Not sure if there will be more coming or if this book is the last. Sure hope not, I really think this series can go more! The way things have played out in Lark's life has been an adventure. But if you follow my blog, then you know I stay away from spoiler... So all I can really say is I hope you will get this set and enjoy it just as much as I and other have!
Please tell me there is more! Starlight is a wonderful continuation and has proven to hold my attention much like the second in the series. I loved it and really want more. This story has hooked me.
