**WARNING -- ENDS IN A CLIFFHANGER -- Pandora's Box MUST be read first or you'll be confused, as the series storyline builds in each subsequent book** Hell’s become more than just a playground for the wicked… Going to Hell was supposed to save Madison, but knowing she’s dead because of his failure leaves Nix with only one thing to live for. Revenge. With Micah’s help he learns to use his Messianic power. Anything for Mads has become his mantra, even if it means killing innocents to gather the power he needs to succeed. A tsunami he unleashes on a Gulf Coast city is stopped with magical interference, and Nix is more than surprised to feel Madison in the opposing magic. Can he and Micah set a trap to lure her out? Pandora’s Box…once you open it, there’s no turning back! Madison has done the unthinkable, opened Pandora’s Box to save Nix from Hell. And failed. She’s willing to risk her own life to rescue Nix, but she worries about the welfare of her accomplice in the mission and leaving her son behind. Following up on a lead, she’s ambushed by Nix and Micah. Shocked and hurt to discover Nix has become a willing participant of Hell, she’s more certain than ever she won’t escape the demonic fate her husband outlined for her. While in Hell, she discovers denying the emergence of her succubus is futile, which means getting Nix out of Hell after embracing her inner demon just became a very real dilemma… This book was previously published and all rights reverted to me. It's received a new cover, and has been re-edited, one scene added, but it is ultimately the same book that was published in February 2013. I’m a Southern princess—haha—nah! I am Southern, but I came from the wrong side of the tracks in a small Alabama town, just 30 minutes from the Florida state line. I have a dirty mind and I’m not afraid to use it. I live in a small rural town on 40 acres with my husband, dogs, a cat with tortitude (aka a tortie American Bobtail with attitude), cows, horses, and chickens. Everyone seems to love my twang even though I don’t hear it. Are y’all sure I have one?
I love all things paranormal and I drop curse words like commas, so I’m not your typical Southern Belle. All the same... Sweet Home Alabama, y’all!

WOW!! Another fantastic book by Gracen Miller that has BLOWN me away!! From start to finish, Hell's Phoenix demands that you devour each and every page. The emotions that you feel for these characters will be a rollercoaster ride and when you are finished you will feel like you have just run a marathon. Hell's Phoenix leaves you panting from all the dynamic action, steamy sex, twisted emotions, and of course, some "HOLY CRAP...did that just happen!" moments. Being able to learn so much more about Nix and his journey through hell and finding out if he comes through it or not, and if he is even sane at the end of this book is gut-wrenching. Not only are we learning about Nix, we get to see more of Micah and how the King of Hell actually rules his kingdom! And of course, Mads is right there in front handling it all, taking on the situation at hand, and being the heroine that she is! Want to know more about Zen, well guess what?, LOTS more info about him too and we get to see just how powerful he can be!! Gracen Miller weaves a tale of wicked naughtiness with gut-wrenching decisions that leaves the reader gasping for air as the final page is turned. Be ready to sit down and not get up because YOU WILL NOT be able to put this book down for anything!! A DEFINITE MUST READ!!
The books are tightly linked, so do not read them out of order! I suggest you start with Madison's Life Lessons - The Road to Hell prequel and then read them one after another until the end with Genesis Queen, for maximum enjoyment! :D
So Nix is in Hell now (he was tricked) and Mads is doing everything to get him out!
The story get complicated, while Nix is enjoying himself in Hell. And I mean enjoying!!!
Mads, in her effort to save Nix , get trapped and transported in Hell where her demon is awaken and she’s revealed to be one of the most powerful succubus – a Lynx!
What I love about this series is that is so complicated, but at the same time so linear. Every action gets its reaction – as smooth as that! Like a Rubik’s Cube: you more one square and everything gets garbled! Really great plotting!
I’ll not say anything more, because if I start it would be a loooonnggggg review full of spoilers, but please, please read this series!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I'm pretty sure I have a Lynx (A unique and very powerful breed of succubus) living inside me and it's desperately craving for the third book. Actually, it's demanding it, and I'm not sure I'm able to hold it back... Hell! What the heck I'm sayin'?? It's already took control over me and I'm suffering withdrawal.
Hell's Phoenix is the second instalment of the Road To Hell series. I LOVED the prequel and the first book, but THIS was EPIC! Maybe I should duplicate my FIVE STARS rating, because if any book deservers TEN stars, then it's sure as hell this one does. We have the chance to dig deeper into the RTH world this time. So deep, that we reached Hell... literally. Madison intended to save Nix from Hell, had a good plan - okay, maybe not THAT good, but it was a plan after all -, and nothing goes as she planned. But at least she managed to get into her husband's, Micah's realm to fulfil her quest.
The description of Hell was CREEPY but awesome. I'm sure I wouldn't go there willingly if there wasn't a Micah... This book contains several breathtaking scenes, maybe sometimes you will even cry -I almost did and I never cry!!- And good news for adrenaline junkies, there is absolutely no lack of action in this book.
Some of the characters changed A LOT! Starting with our cheeky, a little bit arrogant and irresistible (well I Can resist him, thanks to Micah!) hero, Phoenix Birmingham. In fact, every word is still true about him, except the HERO part. Revenge. That is what turns him to the Dark side. And then there's Micah... oh my Love! I'm not sure he actually changed, but we get to see a new side (I always knew he has a sweet side too - OMG did I just say THAT?? Hope he didn't hear it...) of him. However, don't expect a 180 degree turn from him. He is still the big misunderstood player like he was before, but you might will get to love him a bit more now. Madison. What could I say about her? She's still awesome and strong and some choices she makes show exactly how strong really she is. Zen, Oh Zenny. He has definitely changed too. The question is, will he be capable of take Madison down when it's truly necessarily- just as easily as he says? Alessa is FUN to read. Nix's Lucky is a hilarious but smart character, I just love her. There's a bunch of new, interesting characters, like the Kings of Hell or Madison's new allies, who are quite bad-asses if you ask me.
OVERALL: This is an Epic sequel in an amazing series from a really talented and naughty author. Thrilling, heartbreaking and sometimes funny. Featured with some of the most realistic and well-built characters I have ever read. Hell's Phoenix is absolutely a one-way ticket to the RTH world. Once you got in, you will not want to get out.
I was so excited to receive my ARC copy of Hell's Phoenix as so as it was down loaded i started reading and i didn't put it down until i was done. my eyes were so hung over from reading the book on my computer i had to take a break from reading for a couple of days but it was worth it! this book was so amazing and the characters were so much more in depth and defined then they were in Pandora's Box that i felt i knew them on a deep and personal level. Bravo Gracen you topped a great book with an even better one a raising my excitement so high for the third book i'm going to be pulling my hair out to get my hands on it. With that said let me tell you how this book made me feel. I've never been turned on by a blood bath before but the one in this book made me need a glass of ice water it was so hot. *winks at Gracen* There is alot of steamy scenes in this book and i know alot of hell hounds out there that are going to be very pleased with Madison's trip to hell. But I'm a Nix girl and just as Gracen warned me I was pissed off at him through at least a third of the book. I don't like it when my "bad boy" with the beautiful soul goes all soulless sociopath lol but it was cleverly written so that no matter how bad you think things could get there's always a way back to redemption. In the end I forgive him and love him more then ever. I really loved getting to know Zen alot more than i did before. He is one of my favorite characters and the more i know about him the more I love him. I also love his relationship with Mads and especially With Amos I think he is what will ultimately keep Amos grounded as he comes fully into his powers (that's just my guess). I was very intrigued buy a couple of new characters introduced in this book and can't wait to see more of them in book number three. Just like Pandora's Box Hell's Phoenix left me hungry for more and chomping at the bit for the next dose of these addicting books. I just can't wait to see where Gracen will be taking us next on our road to hell.
Everyone believes that Madison is dead. Nix is in hell and now is working for Micah. Nix has become very powerful and feels that Madison is still alive and wants to search for her telling himself his new home that he resides in is all for Mads. Micah has completely agreed to share his wife with Nix but wants her back home. When they find out that she is still alive, their main mission is to bring her where they feel she belongs to help run Hell. Her mission is to bring Nix back home. Will she be able to save her son and Nix? Can she break the bond that Micah has on her? Ms. Miller has still to let me down. I still couldn’t put this book down as I couldn’t with her others. A sequel is in the works for this and I can’t wait to see what happens.
this was a very good follow up to book 1. i'm rooting for a happy threesome and i think gracen gave us a few hints to that possibility.
the love scenes with nix were outstanding. the banter b/w all three was fun and suspenseful at times.
wish i could have given it 5 stars but, imo the constant back and forth with the powers/pandora/succubus/messiac/dragons/seraph/sigil was a bit overwhelming at times. it had me stop a few times and re-think and when you are in the flow of a story, the last thing i want is to stop and re-think..
but other than that, amos, zenny and the gang were great.
so I picked up where I left off since I bought the complete collection. I finished this book even though it took me a while being busy with school and now that school is out I can finish this series hopefully. 4.5 stars This book picked up exactly where it left off in book 1, you need to read the first book to understand what is going on in this one! This is a good series to start off with I really liked the first book and needed the 2nd book right away, but this book had me like "Ugh, WTF" I got frustrated between the characters once Mads got to Hell...oh and very explicit scenes went down in Hell be warned >_< Overall, hopefully something better happens in the next or last book.
Hell’s Phoenix is the second book in the Road to Hell Series by Gracen Miller.
Warning: This book is full of adult content with explicit scenes.
Synopsis: Hell’s Phoenix starts four months after book one ended. Phoenix is in Hell, serving out the covenant he made with Micah to save his family. Thinking he failed to save Madison with the same covenant and thinking he watched her die, he’s let revenge consume him and now it might be too late for his own salvation. Not giving up on him, Amos, Zen and Petra are trying to help prepare Madison and Alessa for their venture into Hell to rescue Phoenix, but at what cost? With Madison’s soul on the line and the fate of the world in the hands of fallen Angels seeking retribution from their Father, will Mads be able to save herself, Phoenix, her son Amos as well as the world from her vengeful Angelic husband… without damning her own soul to a future as Hell’s Queen?
Review: It’ll be hard to express how much I LOVED this book, but Im going to try! After reading book one, Pandora’s Box, I was sure this story couldn’t get any better. I just loved it so much. I loved the characters and I loved the story itself. But however strongly I felt about that book, Hell’s Phoenix just shows how much more talented the author is and how much she’s grown as a writer! Miller once again blows me away, stepping up the excitement, the hotness factor, the action and the story line another ten notches! I was completely enthralled by the writing! We get the return of our beloved characters from book one as well as get a whole slew of new and fascinating characters in book two. Phoenix and Micah burned up the pages with their lusty goodness and add Madison into the equation and all Hell breaks loose! Each scene draws you in deeper and deeper. There are twists and turn, disturbing imagery and enough heat to make you thirst for the next page! Miller’s Hell scenes are full of creative creepiness and her descriptions pull you in and won’t let go!
Conclusion: Hell’s Phoenix is one crazy, wild and stimulating ride from start to finish. Gracen Miller’s talent for executing a story is unique and awe-inspiring. I would definitely suggest this book to anyone who wants to hunker down for an evening or two of sweltering intrigue, fast paced excitement and thrilling entertainment that will leave you wanting to embrace the dark side just to get a taste! And an ending that will make you say, “WHAAAAT?!!?” Yeah, go out and buy it right now along with book one. You WONT be disappointed!
ARC review- A big Thank you to Gracen for providing it!
A book this good should get more than five stars!
Hell's Phoenix is the dark and sensual continuation of the Road to Hell series. All our favorite characters are there- Madison, Micah, Nix, Amos, and Zen- as well as some new characters that are just as delightful- Kur. I won't spoil the fun, but let's just say that Kur fits in perfectly with this supernatural group! ;) A lot of the characters change dramatically throughout the novel. A dangerous, new type of succubus is revealed. Zen is put on the spotlight a little bit more, and we find out just how much Micah cares about his Madison. Never before have I been stuck between which guy I like more in a love triangle, but I can't pick between them!
I stated in my Pandora's Box review that Nix and Madison had explosive chemistry, and we get a good dose of that in this book. But my feelings towards Micah are growing and he and Madison have a different type of chemistry that is just as good. The scenes between the three of them are amazing.
Hell's Phoenix was an emotional roller coaster and one hell of a sequal. There were a couple scenes that actually had me in tears! This is one of those books that will have you staying up until the early hours of the morning because you cannot put the book down because you cannot wait to find out what comes next! I think the cover fits beautifully with the mood of the story, as well. And the actual meaning of the title will surprise you! It's not what you think it is!
Gracen Miller is such a talented writer. She writes incredibly scary descriptions of Hell- not sure how I did not have nightmares- and then switches to incredibly sexy love scenes the next! And it is done perfectly!
If you have not picked up these books yet, you need to quick! They are the perfect blend of romance, action, and horror!
Hell's Phoenix blurs the line between good and evil. Which side will you choose?
I cannot wait until the next installment of the series is released! And until this one is out in paperback so I can add it to my shelf!
It's been a few hours since I finished reading my copy of Hell's Phoenix and I still haven't been able to wrap my head around this mind blowing, hella sexy rollcoaster ride Gracen has thrust upon me. I am so emotionally invested in these characters, to see them endure heartbreak, humiliation, any type of pain and misery puts me in a state of unrest. I'll tell you right now...I got very little rest while reading...and contemplating this little beaut. I was shocked, thrilled and amazed to the extent of my heart nearly exploding out of my chest and my grey eyes having lost the ability to produce more tears of joy and pain. At times I was left distract. I chanted, "How could Gracen do that to us?" More than a few times. Ha! If you're not familiar with Gracen's style and personality...well, let me tell just say...SHE HAS NO PROBLEM PUTTING US ALL THROUGH HELL! But she does it with skill and finese and whole lot of smoulder. Hell, it's hotter than a 5 alarm fire...ok, maybe hotter than Hell itself. HP shows us a side of Nix Birmingham we thought we'd never see...lost, cold, dark and downright evil...and he's never been hotter. Micah is well, Micah. The sexiest demon I've come across yet. Very little he does surprises me, he is a King of Hell after all. But, I think some of his actions will surprise most everyone this time around. Zen gets more intriguing. Amos continues to grow and amaze everyone around him. And Madison? She gets more kick ass by the minute. Just about the time you settle in and get comfy with the situation, Gracen flips the switch and sends you on another wild ride. Hell's Phoenix gives us a more intimate look at familiar friends and foes. It also introduces us to fascinating new characters. One which had me immediately enthralled. As up and down as Madison and Nix's world is, Gracen weaves through it so seamlessly you never see what's coming in the end. I guarantee it. I was completely entranced by the storytelling. It's the stuff from which dark fairy tales and urban legends spring forth. It's epic. At times poetic. And always, always brilliant. Hell's Phoenix soars out of the ashes and off the charts.
Hell’s Phoenix is the second book in The Road to Hell series by Gracen Miller. Nix willingly went to Hell, thinking that he would be protecting Madison. When Micah tells him that she’s dead, he is trapped in Hell with nothing to live for but revenge. He learns to use his newly awakened powers with help from Micah. He does unimaginable things, telling himself that he must do anything to avenge Mads’ death. While he is using a tsunami of his own creation to murder thousands, he is stopped by magical interference. Nix is stunned to feel Madison’s energy in the opposing force. With a new belief that she lives, Nix and Micah make a plan to lure Mads out into the open. She opened Pandora’s Box to try to save Nix from Hell and she lost control of the power, and they now plan to use that against her. She plans to go into Hell to save Nix. She has some pretty powerful help, but everything relies on her. She is forced to leave Amos behind and she doesn’t really believe she will return. Madison again shows that she is every bit as loyal as she is stubborn and that one never wants to cross this Queen. Micah gets more than he planned for and Mads surprises everyone (except Micah lol) when she takes full control of her inner demon, and its powers. This was another amazing book by Gracen Miller! 5/5 stars! The descriptions of Hell will stay with me for years, haunting my dreams with stitched flesh floors and the screaming of the damned. The story evolves from Pandora’s Box and the characters show a side that I didn’t expect. I LOVED the scenes set in Hell. Gracen has a gift for description that made this book come alive for me. I didn’t put this book down until I finished it. Not very often do I find myself this drawn into a series. I am very eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.
My Thoughts: The ride in Hell continues! Do you see the burn marks? I was scorched by the fires of Hell for my sins of enjoyment in “Hell's Phoenix” ! Mads has one goal in mind, to get Nix out of hell. And once she sets her mind to something, she doesn't give up until she is satisfied. What Mads doesn't expect is the temptations she must face to save a love she thinks she isn't worthy of having. First, let me say I probably shouldn't have been reading at work because, like any good Hellhound, when a salesperson would ask me something, I would growl at him. I may have cussed out the fax machine for another interruption. If you found “Pandora's Box” one thrilling, Hell ridden ride, then let me tell you Gracen Miller has upped her game in “Hell’s Phoenix“. You see sides of Micah that make you think he isn't as bad as you first thought. Boy, I want him to do bad things to me. Mads is the loving heart, not to mention sassy, sexy and fierce. She knows how to keep the guys on their toes. You see a side of Nix that will make you gasp, but still find him and his love for Mads an enduring thrill ride. Not to mention, he is still that hot Sherlock with an edge, thanks to Hell. Who wouldn't get all swoony over a guy who would go into Hell just to save you? Among the starring roles, Miller brings back the other players we have grown to love and throws in a few extra lust-worthy characters. This read had me on a roller coaster of a gut wrenching, hanging on for dear life ride that I did not want to get off. The sex scenes were insane! Gracen Miller, I am waiting on book 3 “Genesis Queen” and if I don't see it in the near future I may have to do bad things! I should add I was asked to repent, but how could I when I lust for more, like the naughty Hellhound I am!
Wow. Really, I mean it. This book left me speechless. It was filled with horrors I never want to think about, action that kept my heart pounding, scenes so steamy... well, just, wow. :) In this second instalment of the Road to Hell series, Madison heads to hell to save Nix. What she finds there is unlike anything she'd expected and the whole situation quickly seems to fly out of control. The characters in this book are just as well written (maybe even more so) as in the first one. You can follow the emotions of each character and to me, that's what makes a book excellent. And the end? Gah! I'm going to admit, it was a shocker, but I also laughed my ass off. :D I can't wait to read the third book in this series to see what the hell happens next. Hell's Phoenix definitely gets five stars from me.
Moment to Remember: The whip snapped him out of this reverie. The sound was the worst part, knowing it would soon rip the flesh from bones - The soul jerked against the restraints, and Nix screamed for the punished until his throat ached. It should've been raw and bleeding. Micah glanced over his shoulder at Nix and smirked as he lashed the flogger again. The tails struck the hip of the King's victim and helixed around to snip across the lower abdomen, not more than an inch shy of striking the male's crotch. The whip recoiled and the jagged edges of the tails carved away flesh. Blood oozed down the thigh of the condemned.
10*s. I purchased this copy of The Road to Hell Series directly from Gracen Miller and I have promised an honest review. Well.......
Welcome to 'Hell', the walls and floors are made of skin. What would you do if you thought that the love of your life is possibly dead?
Meet Madison Westcott, and the first thing that popped into my head was 'Devil's Advocate'. I am not sure if that's the right words but that's what came to mind at the end!! Madison, where does your allegiance stand?
OMG! This book blew me out of the water. There was a lot of shocking things that happened in this book. Once I got started, I hadn't realized how fast I was reading through this book!! There was a few things that I expected to happen, but WOW......Madison Westcott is totally messed up!! This is a VERY fast paced book with action, suspense, sexual thoughts and some WOW sex!! A MUST read story for adults ONLY!! Thank you, Gracen Miller for this AWESOME second addition to The Road To Hell Series and I can't wait to read the next book, because you have left me hanging!!
'Madison jabbed Micah in the ribs with her knuckles. He grunted. "Apologize for doubting me."'~Hell's Phoenix
After Madison's Life Lessons, then Pandora's Box, Hell's Phoenix DID NOT DISAPPOINT! OMG Author Gracen Miller has done it again!
I fell in LOVE with Micah in MLL the prequel to Pandora's Box, book 1 in The Road to Hell Series. In Pandora's Box, we meet Phoenix who is a force to be reckoned with as a Sherlock, killer of all that is demon and goes bump in the night. Also KNOWN ladies man and knight in shining armor when you have evil ghosts or demons invading your home.
In Hell's Phoenix, Nix proves to Madison that he will do ANYTHING for her. ANYTHING. Nix goes to Hell (with Madison's oh so irresistible but also a King of Hell Husband) and submits to his every whim, in hopes that he can save Madison. Stuck in Hell, Phoenix embraces his inner demons and goes rogue. The details and story line are so well detailed that you can actually feel the heat from Hell radiating from the words of this book! Yes it is HOT and HAWT both!!!
Who will save who in Hell's Phoenix? Is there any hope for Earth when Madison and Nix may be on opposite sides?
I LOVED the end of this book. LOVED IT! I squeed, jumped up and down and got SUPER freaking happy!! But I am Team Micah :)
It is official, Hell's Phoenix is made of Amazing, covered in Awesomesauce, served with a side of "Is it hot in here?"
I was anxiously awaiting this book. I was so looking forward to it, I was afraid I was setting myself up for disappointment. I was so happy to discover I underestimated the awesomeness of this book. I loved the darkness of this book. I have found so many books lately have horror elements, but write them as the fluffy bunnies of horror instead of embracing their darkness. One thing I love about Gracen's works is that she is committed to having them character driven even when it takes her down a road most would not venture on. I was so sad when the book ended. I wanted more. Please let the next one come out tomorrow;). This book is definitely not for those under 18 due to sex, violence, and the overall themes. This is not typically the type of series I would be drawn to, but I fell in love with it when I read Madison's Life Lessons. This series is definitely worth a try even if it is not your go to theme/genre.
Gracen, you truly are an evil woman!!!!!!!!!! To end the book the way you did had me gasping for more...and the need for a VERY cold shower through out the book ;) I bow down to Mama Hellhound! You have done it again I didn't know which way she was going to turn and felt sad with some of the events that happened even though I know they had to and with the way it ended you have me wondering what will happen next and the direction she will take! <3 It!!!!
I was a little worried about the second book in the Road to Hell Series...cause Pandora's Box was so great I didn't know if Gracen could top it. But I was not disappointed in the least! Hell's Phoenix was so great! Packed full of demon's, action and juicy sex scenes. The plot and characters were great...if your a fan of J.R. Ward's Blackdagger Series then you need to read this series. It blows J.R. Ward out of the water!
Oh my God! woman I love you I'm at a loss of words ... You always keep me on pins and needles! I was already in LOVE with Phoenix now I find myself falling for Micah that naughty Angel and you know me I like naughty! You rock Gracen Miller must read
WOW, Amazingly written and just soooo fantastic...I wish I could read it again this very minute! It's just that damn good. I would give it 1,000 stars.
How is it that Gracen still manages to shock me with each book? Not only do things change significantly here, but most of the events leave you speechless!
Now, I'll admit, I was not sold on this book at the beginning. Not cause I didn't like it, because in all honesty this is one of my favorite series, but cause I just wanted Nix & Madison to be together and Micah was delaying it!
I really liked this book. It showed just how far people would go for someone they really care about. Even if it means venturing into hell, discovering where your loyalties lie, if your able to give someone your trust, & what you're willing to do to to achieve your goals; becoming what you don't want to be. Kickass & try to not bat an eyelash. Even though this book made me nervous as hell! Such a roller-coaster ride!
I fell in love with Phoenix all over again in this book. Even though I wanted to hit him for some time during the book, but understood his reasons. It was all for Mads.
"I won't kill her," Nix said solemnly. "I'll help her burn the word to cinders before I harm one hair on her head."
"If all I ever get is a handful of tomorrows with you, then I'll consider myself the luckiest man alive."
*happy sigh* How can you not love this man?
Madison, *sigh* I like her because she is strong, brave, selfless, & can kickass when she has to. She will do what needs to be done. But I really had trouble with not wanting to strangle her. I understand she has reasons for the low self-esteem and to think she isn't worthy, but come on. I kept telling Nix to come to me and let me love him, but it got me nowhere. But their chemistry together is sweet & explosive.
Zen, Zenny, I loved him, always have. I'm so happy we get to see inside his head & learn more about him, to know he really does feel. Not to mention the banter between him & Nix and how they acted towards each other, which was funny. I love the good guys. And we have more guys joining us? Hello. I wanted to disembowel Micah. I honestly don't understand how people can like him cause I detest him and with his twin brother.
I am at a stand still. I am not sure which book I have liked more, the first or this one. Sigh it seems that this book may have been more twisted, more mouth wateringly hot than the first. I wasn't even sure if that was possible. But oh boy, how I am so in love with this series. So as you have already noticed Mad's life is a little chaotic. Yeah, you know she needs to go pay the bills, remember the dry cleaning and go save Nix from his fate in hell while keeping her son Amos safe. Nothing out of the ordinary for this suburban mom lol. I am telling you that I just love her. She is just so strong and deals with everything that life throws at her. She never backs down and is always giving herself for the ones shes loves. I think she is just great. And oh so yummy Nix, he may have a tarnished soul now and he may have done some serious(ok and maybe a couple of hot) hellish things but I can't help but admire him. He would do anything for the one woman that he has ever loved and he proves it over and over again. And I am so sorry, but I find myself crushing on Micah a little after this book. Yes, he did some seriously jacked up stuff but in his own way he did those things out of love. And the tiny tiny tender side you saw of him just melted me a little. But I am still so totally Team Nix. Hey Gracen, I may need a shirt that says that lol.Yeppers, as you can see I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was defiantly a one sitter for me, I never even put it down. Like I pointed out this story was a little more twisted than the first, you found out all kinds of meat and ewwy things. I found myself sitting there with my mouth hanging open a a couple of times. And I also may have needed a fan and maybe a glass of ice water. Shiver me timbers, this was one steamy book. And yes, I just used a pirate saying, sorry. Once again fantastic writing, constantly kept me guessing and questioning everything. It all just flowed and I don't think there was ever a down time. I can not wait to read the next in this series.
Why did it take me so long to get to reading this book? That is a question I have been asking myself. I loved Pandora's Box and when I started reading Hell's Phoenix I had to go back to re-read it as I thought I was missing something. I highly recommend you read book one Pandora's Box so YOU will not be lost in book two. You have Nix and Micah together no not like that but they are together to get revenge for Madison's death but is she really dead? Will Hell change Nix for the better or the worse? Nix learns more about who is he is in this story and what his blood line holds. Now Madison has been working on a plan to get Nix out of hell but at what cost will it cost her? I loved watching Madison come into her own in this one she has really grown from the first book. Heck she has even surprised Micah and we all know that is hard to do with him being a King. We get new characters and you can't help but wonder how this will all end will Nix and Madison ever be together? Will Micah get Madison to rule Hell with him like he plans? And what is up with their son Amos exactly how powerful is that little man? I found myself being pissed at Nix for what he had become but then found myself loving him towards the end. You can see the love he has for Madison even though she may not see it. Micah man I don't know if I should like him or hate him. No matter what goes on with Madison he loves her which is sweet but the dude seems crazy just saying. So in the end who do you like? Nix or Micah? There is action, drama, love, hate, death, sex all rolled up into a nice story. One that will have you turning the pages quick just to find out what will happen next. Can't wait to read book three to find out more.
The world this author has created is amazing, the characters are so well developed and the plot is amazing. Demons, Angels, dragons, humans all come together to make one hell of a story. #PBwkendread
WOW, WOW, WOW, This is an amazing book, I loved Pandoras Box, with Hell's Phoenix being the second book in The Road to Hell Series, it definitely meets all expectations. It has new characters that are Hot and you can't help but like, and of course the characters from book one are still amazingly steamy and funny.
Nix is in Hell with Micah, and Hell has taken it's toll on him, he has turned to killing and even being intimate with Micah. Both Nix and Micah thought Zen had killed Madison, and Nix wanted revenge. He causes a Tsunami , but when it is fought against with magic, he senses that it's Mad's, so he convinces Micah she is still alive. Mad's is already planning on going to Hell to save Nix, but just hours before she was planning to leave, Micah's brother comes and gets her and takes her to Hell. Now not only is she in Hell, but she is attracted to both men and her demon wants out. Just when you think she is giving in to her deceitful husband, she does the unthinkable and sticks a dragon blade in his heart.
After returning to earth with a hunky dragon, the realization hits that Micah may not be dead and will come for her. And if not Micah, then his brothers, the other Kings of Hell will.
Amazing, Hot, Steamy,
Gracen is an extremely talented writer, she knows how to grab you and pull you in, and I'm glad to be one of her Hell Hounds !! Never a dull moment and you will fall for each character as they all have a unique personality
Gracen Miller has done it again! The first book in this series is Pandora’s Box, but it holds no candle to Hells Phoenix. This is my favorite in the series so far, it is fast paced, packed with action there is always something going on and it is smoking HOT!!! I’ve been waiting for this book to get on B&N (probably driving Gracen crazy in the process) and I just finished it last night. If you love dark books you really have to read these. Most books I read , I have a favorite I like and stick with but with Gracen’s Books I’m all over, you really can’t pick just one! And the twists and turns in the book will leave you craving more. These books are defiantly not for anyone under the age of 18 due to sex and violence.
Nix is in hell and now is working for Micah, and they believe Madison is dead. Nix suffers knowing she’s dead because of his failure. He keeps telling himself he’s going to get revenge for Mads, he becomes really powerful while in hell killing innocents. A tsunami he unleashes on a Gulf Coast city is stopped with magical interference, and Nix is more than surprised to feel Mads in the opposing magic. He tries to talk Micah into believing she’s really alive. So they set a trap. Will Mads fall into the trap they set and be trapped in hell? Will Mads save Nix from hell? And if she does what will it cost her in the end?
This is the second book in the Road to Hell series and all I can say is that Gracen Miller knows how to write one hellish story!
Being "the middle child" in this trilogy, this book encompasses most of the hellish traits you would expect: revenge, anger, manipulation, and fear. Then throw in love, adoration, commitment and faith and you have a story where you are pulled in two different directions and you don't know which way it will go or whether or not you want it to go a certain way.
The three main characters, Madison, Micah and Phoenix, are the type that get under your skin and after reading their dialogues and interactions, you could swear you smell the brimstone coming out of your pores. Gracen Miller not only can write super-steamy sex scenes, but she has the ability to get you into the characters head and heart. She does a fabulous job with Madison's personality, which goes from kick-ass chick with a grudge, to quivering-bottom-lip vulnerable lover. And Micah and Nix...well...it's amazing how you can root for the Ark of Heaven and the King of Hell at the same time.
This has been an amazing trip down the Road to Hell...looking forward to the final book in this trilogy. I'm sure this author will not disappoint us!
I'm copying over my review from book one, Pandora's Box, because my opinion hasn't changed. There are some really cool plot twists in book two but as an overall series... still one of my favorites! LOVE the dragon tat tie-in!
Wow! When I picked this book up, I thought I would start reading a romance with demonic ties and a human girl, old plots with a battle for ones soul…etc Nope… that’s not what I got. I got SOOOO much more. The story has depth, and it takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride from the first paragraph. I’m in love with this series and anyone writer that can make you feel empathy for the bad guy, sometimes want him to win, has incredible skills.
There is so much going on in this story: Heaven versus Hell, Love versus Hate… anger… passion, all this thrown right in the middle of motherhood! What would you do to protect your child? How far would you let your soul blacken for your baby?
I love the world the story is written around and you get one surprise after the next. On top of all the meat in the story, you have HEAT! Oh, and it burns so sweet. This has become one of my favorite series!
From page one it was nothing but action, the book took my breath away either in a lustful taste, or had me gasping for air. The book did NOT beat around the bush, it got right to the point of things. However I didn't the fact that Nix and Micah sort of had an alliance, I knew that nothing good could come out of that alliance. Hell has obviously changed Nix and I'm not sure if I like the new him...I don't know if I find him sexy as hell or if I want to bash his brains in for being a complete idiot. "What bothers you most Mads? The pleasure you're receiving from my healing or that I'm not the goody-two shoes I once was?" Both men care for Maddie but I'm still having trouble deciding who I think she would be better with. A lot does go down in the book and still having an issue wrapping my head around the events that took place and the fact that Gracen's cliffhangers are totally brutal is not helping matters lol.
