Part One - Ready to Reach
Ever thought a dream might pass you by?

Nineteen-year old CeCe Mackenzie is determined to make her dreams come true. She heads for Nashville with not much more to her name than a guitar, a Walker Hound named Hank Junior and an old car she'd inherited from her grandma called Gertrude. But when Gertrude ends up on the side of I-40 in flames, Nashville has never seemed farther away. Help arrives in the form of two Georgia football players headed for the Nashville dream as well. When Holden Ashford and Thomas Franklin stop to offer CeCe and Hank Junior a ride, fate may just give a nod to serendipity and meant to be. Because while CeCe is chasing after her dream, she might find love as well.

Part Two - Hammer and a Song
CeCe McKenzie grew up dreaming of a life doing what she loves - singing in Nashville. When she and her Hound dog Hank Junior set out to make her dream come true, life takes some twists she hadn't counted on. Like falling for Holden Ashford, a songwriter with a gift. And also a girlfriend. Can a country music star's hunky son help her forget about Holden? Or is that even possible when her heart insists on writing the song?

Part Three - What We Feel
Hunky musicians Holden Ashford and Thomas Franklin rescue Nashville bound CeCe MacKenzie and her Walker Hound Hank Junior from the side of the road when her car catches on fire. A less determined girl might have let her dreams go up in smoke as well, but not CeCe. She’s been singing all her life, and she just wants a chance to do the thing she loves in a place where music is part of the fabric of life. As it turns out, Holden and Thomas want the same thing, and it isn’t long before they’re all chasing after the dream together.

Falling in love hasn’t figured in to CeCe’s plans, but the moment she sets eyes on Holden, her heart is asking why not? Holden is drawn to her as well, but he already has someone in his life, Sarah who still lives in Atlanta, Sarah who loves him. Who he thought he loved back until CeCe makes him realize he hadn’t really known that love could turn him inside out.

But an unexpected visit from Sarah brings to light a terrible truth and Holden is faced with a choice between doing the right thing or permanently defining himself as a guy he never thought he would be.

It is only in letting each other go that both Holden and CeCe will come to understand that in life and love, the part that’s real is what we feel.

Part Four - Pleasure in the Rain
Just as Barefoot Outlook begins to hit the big time, tragedy strikes when a rage-filled Nashville musician who hasn’t found the success he’s hoped for crashes an after-concert party and begins shooting. Among the victims are band members CeCe MacKenzie, Holden Ashford, Thomas Franklin, Beck Phillips and his country music star dad, Case.

With each of them gravely injured, one will not survive, forever changing the lives of everyone involved. Will one man’s hatred and contempt demolish all of their dreams, or will they eventually reach a place where they can even take pleasure in the rain?

Virginia author Inglath Cooper fell in love with reading as a little girl, devouring most of the books in her elementary school library. At some point, she decided she wanted to pursue a writing career, creating romance fiction that did for others what her favorite books have done for her. “I love character-driven books that leave me feeling as if I’ve really known these people and make me wish I didn’t have to turn the last page.”

“Romance fiction has always appealed to me because it deals with so many of the relationships in a woman’s life. Not only the love of her life, but often her relationship with her mother, sister or best friend. Romance authors have so much room to explore many of the meaningful moments and transitions in women’s lives. And who doesn’t love a good love story?”

Inglath most often writes stories about love and life that are set in small Virginia towns like the one where she grew up. “I like to think the flavor of my hometown shows up in my books both in their setting and through the characters who people it.”

When aspiring writers ask her how to be an author, she says, “Everything I know about writing books I learned from reading books.”

Inglath has been chosen as a RITA® Award winner for best long contemporary romance novel given out each year by Romance Writers of America. Her books are available through Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, itunes.com, and Kobobooks.com.

Outside of writing, Inglath is actively involved in dog rescue, working with The Franklin County Humane Society to place dogs and cats in need of rehoming. She volunteers her time in every capacity possible: serving on the Board of Directors, fundraising, photographing dogs and cats available for adoption and serving as a foster home. “Helping an abused or neglected dog go on to have a wonderful life with a family who loves them is more rewarding than I can possibly say.”

Holden and CeCe can’t catch a break! These two truly know what it means when people say ‘The heart wants what it wants and there is no control over it’.

When you love someone as much as these two do, you do anything to make it work. Holden goes through a lot in these four books but his patience with CeCe is what had me falling for him. If she was just a game to him, he wouldn’t have waited for her. It also helped that he was gorgeous and could play the guitar.

Part one had me hooked, part two had me speechless, part three has me terrified, and part four had me tearing up. It’s not often that a book can actually put water in my eyes but, Cooper’s beautiful descriptions did just that. They had me feeling like I was in the scene and watching from the characters eyes.

I loved the struggle the characters had and I really enjoyed watching them overcome the obstacles life sent them. Making your dreams a reality is hard work and these characters are very determined. Holden and CeCe’s characters were very well developed and their connection was instant.

This is an extremely well thought out series. The books are short and easy to read. I think there could have been another book added between part two and three. I felt like I missed a lot there and although the author did fill us in, reading what they went through in those months would have been awesome.

I highly recommend buying all the books at the same time! Once you finish one part, you’ll wish you had the next.

Also!! Thomas gets his story in part five and I can’t wait to finish reading it!

REVIEW: NASHVILLE by Inglath Cooper (NASHVILLE 1-4)

If you like your romance in New Adult flavor, with plenty of ups and downs, oh-my, oh-yes, oh-no, love at first sight, trouble, happiness, difficulty, and follow-your-dreams, look no further than extraordinary prolific author Inglath Cooper. Ms. Cooper understands that the romance genre deserves good writing, great characterization, and true-to-life settings and situations, no matter the setting. Start your visit with the first four books of her NASHVILLE series (an e-book boxed set, or a one-volume print), then continue your enrapture with each additilooonal installment. I recommend you turn off the phone and ignore the doorbell, as you're not going to want to miss a moment of this saga of the girl who headed for Nashville with only a guitar, a hound, and a Dream in her heart.

While I enjoyed the first few books for summer read at the beach, I must say the series became a series of unrealistic events. I was very ready for it to be over.

From here on I'm already questioning my desire to keep reading the series. The cliffhangers are not that dramatic that you feel like you want to know the rest... but I was on vacation and didn't mind the lack of development and the amount of drama.

About the Author:

RITA AWARD WINNING AUTHOR INGLATH COOPER writes books that aim to give her readers a mini-vacation. A stretch of time during which they can visit other places and other people's lives. Her books have reached the top 100 Amazon Kindle Bestseller list, with Truths and Roses hitting #11. Inglath Cooper's Nashville series became a reality after she spent time in Music City, writing lyrics with other songwriters. She fell in love with the community and gets to revisit regularly through her characters.

My Review:

Ready to Reach:

CeCe MacKenzie's one and only dream is to make it big in country music. But with all her problems she is not sure she will ever see that dream realized. Soon her luck is about to change though when Franklin and Holden Ashford are able to give her a ride to Nashville because they are headed that way, as well. Before she knows it she and these two guys could of been pinned as family with all the singing and carrying taking place.

Hammer and a Song:

After CeCe's dog Hank Jr. is put into a pound, she and Holden wait up all night for someone to let them in. Arriving back at the apartment with Hank Jr. and a sweet companion by the name of Patsy, Holden and CeCe arrive to a visitor. With all the extra people hanging around CeCe doesn't feel too much like singing especially if that means she has to sing with Sarah.

What We Feel:

Holden has been gone exactly 19 months helping Sarah with her cancer treatments. CeCe is going strong with Beck, all the while singing gigs with Thomas. When they are offered both a tour and a recording, Holden arrives back in Nashville within days. But he doesn't arrive empty handed, he brings his problems back with him. When he arrives and sees CeCe with Brock he gets very upset so much so that it threatens the integrity of the tour. Just when you think everything is going to pan out, tragedy strikes.

Pleasure in the Rain:

After the shooting, everyone is in the hospital fighting for their lives. CeCe is the first to recover and the first one to grieve herself into depression. As life seems to be going on all around her, she doesn't seem to know how to stop what she is feeling. As each one leave the hospital they each try to help coax CeCe out of her depressed state, but none of them have any luck.

This series is awesome! I loved reading about each of the characters, my favorite was CeCe, she reminded me a lot of my daughter. She is very sassy and nothing seems to stop her. The plotline and characters are fully formed and full of life. I really enjoyed this series!

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.

When I was approached about reviewing Inglath Cooper’s Nashville box set I accepted without hesitation. As an avid viewer of the TV show of the same name I expected the book version of that.

Nope, I was wrong, although there are similarities between the two these books are not the same as the TV show. With that in mind I had no idea where the books were going to take me and that was a good thing.

In part one of this series we are introduced to three characters, CeCe, Holden and Thomas. The books give us both CeCe and Holden’s point of view throughout and I think that makes it really interesting from the start. Getting the perspective of the other party involved always adds a fantastic dimension to a book.

We begin with CeCe making her way to Nashville to pursue her dream as a Country music star. She’s travelling in her Grandmother’s old car – a car which her Grandma had from brand new. Unfortunately for CeCe the car breaks down and subsequently sets on fire, she’s lucky to get out with her dog, Hank Junior, and her guitar. Everything else goes up in smoke.

She is rescued at the side of the road by two guys who are also heading to Nashville to pursue their dreams of becoming singers. Thomas is keen to help CeCe, he is the one who insists that she gets a ride with them, much to Holden’s chagrin. CeCe tries her hardest not to annoy Holden but no matter what she does he just gets annoyed at her. Despite this Thomas insists that she stay with them at the apartment that they have lined up and having no money or clothing after the fire she has to agree.

Despite having a girlfriend Holden finds himself attracted to CeCe – no matter how hard he tries to fight his feelings he cannot get her out of his head. The two of them go out to find work the next day and catch their soon to be boss in a compromising position with a famous Country singer. They both get the jobs they are going for and their first couple of days in Nashville go smoothly.

But a couple of days later Thomas manages to lose Hank Junior when he is taking him for a walk whilst CeCe is at work. When she and Holden return home they end up spending the night looking for her dog, finally discovering he has been taken to the local dog pound. CeCe is so distressed at this that Holden promises to wait with her until the pound opens at 8am the next morning.

They manage to convince a worker to let them into the pound a little before 8 and they rescue Hank Junior. They also convince the guy to let them have a dog who is also in the same pen as Hank Junior and is due to be euthanised that morning. Holden is so taken with her that he adopts her and names her Patsy.

When they return home Sarah, Holden’s girlfriend from Atlanta, has turned up and whatever had transpired between him and CeCe must now be forgotten about. They all muddle along for a few days until they are caught in a tornado. Once the danger has passed they leave the cellar of their work place and head home. But they come across Lauren, their boss, finding her unconscious. They get her to hospital and Holden rings Case Philips to inform him. He is so grateful that they saved her – she’s a diabetic – that he offers them to come to his home where he has a recording studio and cut a demo. The only snag is that they need four members for the group and Holden has to convince Sarah, despite her dislike for CeCe, to join them.

Just when they think that everything is going their way, tragedy strikes for Sarah and she returns home, closely followed by Holden. That breaks CeCe’s heart and she just has to get on with her life without him.

Eventually everything begins to work out for them all; CeCe has become involved with Beck, Case’s son and she and Thomas are playing gigs most nights of the week at cafes and bars in Nashville. Holden is still writing songs for them, despite not being in Nashville and one song in particular catches the attention of someone close to a famous singer who lost his wife to a drunk driver. The artist is determined to have that song for his own and eventually Holden is convinced to come back to Nashville.

Case Philips is due to go on tour but his support act has pulled out. He convinces his CeCe and Thomas to join him, along with his son and Holden. They manage to put any weirdness behind them – given how CeCe and Holden feel about each other and that she’s now involved with Beck. The tour works out but CeCe and Beck don’t, mainly because he catches her and Holden kissing. Beck responds by getting it on with a couple of women and taking drugs, this means that CeCe and Holden have to stay away from one another for the sake of the tour. But towards the end of the tour they spend the day together and decide they are going to commit to one another. But again tragedy strikes and everyone is affected so badly that it seems certain things will never be the same again.

This series will definitely take you on a roller coaster of emotions. It’s beautifully written and despite me not liking country music I could definitely relate to the characters. You will feel for CeCe and Holden throughout the series and will feel their pain and frustration too. I wasn’t sure what to expect at the end of this box set but I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

The author has a wonderful way with words and her stories are captivating.

Definitely worth reading.

I really liked it. I was nervous going into it since I had for 2 years. I have to say I regret not reading it when I first bought it. It's really good and made me laugh and cry. I loved all the characters. Will Case have a story? I kinda hope he does or the other country star that lost his wife to a drunk driver. This is my first book from Inglath and I have to say she won me over. I can't wait to read the rest.

Excellent read

This is an excellent story. I couldn't lay it down and cannot wait to start the next in series. I only gave it a 4 star rating because I found the way the author switched from one characters view to the next a bit annoying. I had to go back several times to figure out if it was CeCe or Holdens thoughts. It was in every other way a great read. Definitely going to find more Inglath Cooper stories

Read each book separately-serious editing errors here!

At 6% I was lost and thought I missed something. Then at 11% realized I was rereading what I read at 6%. Editing left off informing the reader who’s thoughts you’re reading which is also confusing. Very frustrating to want to read what should be a good book and deal with so many editing errors. Read each book in the series separately so hopefully you won’t have this issue.

Hard to put down

A great adventure for three people who come together in a very unusual way. Life has its up and downs and these three sure do. Hold on to your seat and your heart and follow them as they pursue their dreams of music and Nashville.

Can't wait to start the next book in the series.

This book reminded me so much of the TV show, "Nashville." You could almost look at the characters and match them up to each other. Case Phillips=Luke Wheeler, CeCe=Scarlett, etc.... That being said, I still loved the book. The dogs were the best part, especially Hank Junior!

It would have been a five starr rating but I don't care for first person present tense, but the story was engaging. I just wish I'd known I was going to need a box of tissues. Kudos to the author.

Nashville by Inglath Cooper is a serial series about a young woman who heads to Music City to make her dreams come true. Along the way she meets two men with the same dream and together they make a great team!

So I've had part one of this serial series sitting on my Kindle for well over a year and when I came across the boxed set for free* I couldn't pass it up. And let me tell you I'm SO glad I didn't! The first four parts of Nashville focus on CeCe, Holden and Thomas as they set out to make their dreams of being country music stars come true. And of course a little romance on the side ;)

*I bought my version on Amazon. It is currently (as of writing this review on 8/24/15) free on Amazon Kindle, Kobo, and iTunes. I DO NOT know how long this promotion will last so as always be sure to check before you buy!

CeCe is fresh out of high school with big plans and even bigger dreams, but the good news for her is that she has the look and sound to make those dreams come to life. The bad news, everything works against her. First her car along with all her possessions burn on the side of I40. Then she has to deal with two guys from Georgia with the same dream and talent as herself. And one of the guys is a total butt to her from the get go. I like CeCe. She's a bit naive, but hey she's only 18. I couldn't imagine living the life she does at that age.

Holden is the handsome, aforementioned butt. He has his own reasons though. He and his best friend Thomas finally decide to go to Nashville permanently, which means he leaves his girlfriend (or ex?) behind. He's upset then Thomas has to go and pick up the stray girl on the side of the highway. Holden is talented at what he does - playing guitar and writing songs - and he knows it. BUT what makes him likable is the fact he doesn't flaunt it. AND then there's his big heart. Despite his nonchalant, brusque attitude towards CeCe, he's kind, caring, and very rarely puts his own needs first.

The plot of the first four parts of this serial series really revolves around Holden and CeCe, even alternating chapters between their POV. This just enhances the story for me! It's a story about falling in love but also what it takes to follow your heart, follow your dreams. There are subtle Christian influences throughout the story so perfectly interwoven with the characters' lives that as a reader you don't question it and if you aren't looking you may not even notice it. It's uplifting and encouraging. Plus who doesn't love a story about the underdogs?!

Overall, if you can't tell, I enjoyed the book! It can easily be read alone without continuing the serial series (BUT WHY would you want to do that?!) as it tells Holden and CeCe's story in completion. The next parts go on to tell Thomas's story which I'm excited to read :D One of the draws to this story for me was reading about a city in my own state. I love Nashville! And it was neat to read about places I've been in real life because I could easily imagine it and how it affected the characters. And BONUS it's a clean read with very little curse words or romantic entanglements ;) If you enjoy new adult, contemporary romance, or you're looking for a light-hearted read, this is it!

Nashville 1-4 is the epic story of Cece, Holden and Thomas' rise to musical fame. These four stories are told in Cece and Holden's perspectives. Fate and a car ready to explode on the side of the road brought these three together to form bonds of friendship and love through their obsessions with making it big in Nashville. Holden and Cece have tension from the get go when they first lay eyes on each other and this tension reaches combustible levels very soon. Holden is in a relationship and Cece refuses to be "that girl", but their feelings soon become undeniable.

Holden and Cece begin a loving and somewhat turbulent relationship that is at the almost point many times but is always suddenly halted by circumstances that surround them. I found myself screaming at them to get on with it but let's just say girlfriends, guilt, stalkers and bullets can really get in the way of two people trying to find their way to each other.

One thing Cece, Holden and Thomas do do well is music. With music in common we only hope at the end of all the drama in their young lives they all find their ways back to each other.

Oh and did I say there are puppies...can't never go wrong with puppies!!!

After many tears and frustrating dramatic pauses on my part , Cece and Holden's story does come to a conclusion at the end of this book set but continues on with Thomas' story in book five through four or so more and hopefully ending at some point revisiting all of their lives in what seems to be book ten in the series.. Dang I've got a lot of reading to do!! Great series.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this book set & all the emotions it invoked. At first it seemed like CeCe & Holden had nothing but one drama after the next that kept yanking them together or apart like a yo-yo. But as the story progressed it became clear how connected they were. Thomas was perfect as the country boy, yoda of the group. His humor kept the story light in just the right places. I envisioned Case looking & sounding much like Trace Adkins. The grief that came through during the darkest parts of the story was heart wrenching. It's what made the joy on the other side so much better. I would love to have read an epilogue of what happened to all of the characters months or even years later. I know there are 5 more books so I hope a second box set comes out with Parts 5-9. Pleeeeeease Ms. Cooper!!

I loved this series. I kinda thought the fourth book was unnecessary but it was still good. Long story short. Cece on her way to Nashville and her car breaks down. That's when Thomas and Holden help her. They give her a ride to Nashville. They bond and they becomes close friends. Cece and Holden start to have feelings for one another. But golden has a girlfriend. Things get complicated but Holden really has deep feelings for cece. He breaks things off with Sarah but spins finds out she has cancer. He quits the band and goes back. 19 months later he decides to go back and Sarah also lets him go. Cece is dating beck at the time. They form a band once Holden gets back. A tragedy happens during this book. And everyone has their PSTD moments. But in the end cece and Holden get married and have their HEA.

It honestly deserves more than 5 stars!
I read this box set in less than 24 hours. I honestly could not stand to put it down. I didn't read any reviews or snippets about the books, just read the sample from iBooks and decided to buy the set of four. I thought it would be a fun, light read about music and love. I had no idea what i was in store for. I am so thankful to Cooper that she didn't let Holden die. I honestly do not think I could've handled that. I barely kept it together when reading about Beck's funeral and the sweet eulogy from the pastor. I haven't felt this way about a book (or series) in such a long time. I'm not usually one to re-read a book (except HP) but I will say that I do plan on re-reading this box set.

Nashville-Boxed Set Series 1-4

The gripping and spellbound story of three young adults. Hunter and Thomas are friends from way back and have a chance meeting withCece and her dog Hank Jr. on the side of the road. They agree to let her ride to Nashville where they take their dreams of becoming Country Superstars. The story begins with them sharing a dive apartment, working at a restaurant and singing and playing guitar anywhere they could get a gig. Holden and Cece have this undeniable chemistry that gets crushed when his girlfriend comes in the picture. Over the course of the four stories, these three live, learn, grow, and make a record. The best is yet to come .I can't wait to read more of the Nashville series. Great job Inglath Cooper!

Perfect for fans of romance. Cooper blends great set-ups with well fleshed out characters and none of that insta-love. The plot is well paced with the threads handled nicely. It reads fluidly, quickly capturing the reader and flowing from one scene to the next smoothly. The characters are easy to like adding to a well written book. Cooper shows a good grasp of language making this a fun book to curl up with. Overall this is a good book for those who prefer romance. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in no way influenced my opinion.

Rich Hot Love Story...

Inglath Cooper! I just discovered you and what a win it is for me.

Your writing placed me right there in every scene. I have a growing appreciation for first person POV.

Thomas and Holden headed for Nashville seeking a future in country music meet CeCe and her beloved hound, Hank, on the road.

And so the adventure begins.

I was so happy with this book package, that I bought book 5 which continues the saga.

An aside, if you're a dog lover like our author and I am...you'll be tickled.
