Safe With Them

Rate this book
Charlotte

I ran from true evil four years ago, and I’ve been running ever since.

I’ve mostly managed to make a new life for myself and my kiddo in Boston, but I’ve always known my past could catch up at any moment.

Chasing around a toddler and working full time at a pheromone clinic for rabid alphas keeps me busy enough that I don’t have too much time to worry about “what-ifs.” At least until the motorcycle club I ran from starts circling.

It goes against every instinct that I have to put my trust in the mafia family that comes to my aid. I’ve seen what organized crime does to a person—it chews you up and spits you out—but I know when I’m in over my head.

The O’Connor brothers are the only thing standing between me and paying for the sins I committed years ago... The only problem is, I’m not sure they’ll be enough to keep us safe.

Safe With Them is a standalone set in the same world as Bonded by Christmas. It can be read independently or together for a fuller world view. This is Charlotte's complete romance with no cliffhanger! No past character crossovers to any of my other series. No cheating, no OW drama, and the men always fall first.
The release date is a placeholder and will be brought forward once the book is done with editing. Expected release late March.

⭐️ 5/5
🌶️ 3/5

- Loved the crossovers as always. One of my favorite scenes in Bonded by Christmas was Wilder & Lacey in his office and the O’Connor brothers coming in so seeing the other perspective was too good.😍😍
- “Fecking “ is my favorite haha, i love when authors add accents. 👏🏼
- Jillian spoils us with these inexperienced MMC’s. Don’t get me wrong, I like all of the MMC’s but Cormac is just precious. Protect him at all costs.
- How active the MMC’s are with Lucky will make me swoon every time. 😍
- I loooove how Jillian writes her single mom and pregnant FMC’s so I knew this one was going to be a hit. Lucky is seriously the cutest kid. And I really appreciate that JW made him a bit unique, taller than most three year olds. My son was on the smaller side and it’s the little things that JW does in her writing that just makes everyone feel involved and every person matters and I respect that so much.

- No negatives 😍

🌶️ Spice
The spice is always great in JWs books. This one is a 3/5 rating for me. It wasn’t as spicy as her other books and came in later but I loved the scenes we got. Plus having an inexperienced MMC made it more special.🔥

Favorite Quotes:
”I want her to want me just as badly as I ache for her.”

“The word you’re looking for is ours.”

I wouldn’t blame women for having one child and refusing to have more.

I just don’t know what I’d do with out Jillian’s books. I love them all so much and this was no exception! I know I’ve said it before but I am absolutely feral I’ve the soul matches that she writes in her books! This one had everything I love, single mom in hiding, Irish mafia, and scent matches (plus a mod course that soul match).

Charlotte was such a great mom and I love how her relationship built with the guys. Cormac, Patrick, and Malachy were perfect for her!!

I love the cameos we see from Lacey and her guys! I cannot wait for Vanessa’s book!

I am screaming. I am obsessed. I am giggling and kicking my feet.

This was SO GOOD. I fell in love with all of the characters very quickly and ofc Cormac is my favorite. He's absolutely unhinged and I love me a bit of romantic stalking 🙂‍↕️.

Single mother on the run? Yes please. Possessive mmcs? Check. Spicy spicy? Double check.

So freaking good 😍

After 3 years of successfully hiding from her Biker President ex and baby-daddy, omega & single mom Charlotte must come face-to-face with her past and the nightmares she thought she left behind.
Leaders of the O'Connor crime family, Cormac, Patrick, and Malachy, aren't about to let this adorably sassy omega slip through their fingers, and they most certainly aren't going to let anyone hurt what's theirs. Make no mistake, Charlotte and her little boy, Lucky, are theirs. The brothers will prove that Charlotte and her little boy will always be Safe with Them.

This book was Amazing!
As in most omegaverse books, the alphas fall head over heels for their omega, and the omega loves to cherish their chosen pack.

Safe with Them is not quite a sequel to the Holiday novella, Bonded By Christmas; it is the first full-length book in this new omegaverse world. You do not need to read Bonded by Christmas to understand and fully enjoy this book, but it does help to have some background information to explain how the characters meet. Plus, Bonded by Christmas is a cute, cuddly, and spicy holiday read that I definitely recommend if you love those things.

In Safe with Them, I appreciated how Charlotte was familiar with and genuinely attracted to Cormac before she knew that he was part of her new protection team. Probably cliché now, but I love a little light romantic "guarding" as Cormac calls it (or stalking as everyone else knows).
Malachy might be the typically large, overprotective teddy bear alpha we love to see, and he is, but J. West included aspects of the morally grey, jealous, with the touch her & bleed traits that are usually left to the more "strategic" characters. Malachy might go about things differently than Cormac and Patrick, but he is just as bloodthirsty and effective as they are.
Patrick is the middle brother, the one who steps in when Malachy loses himself to the decay alphas are prone to. Patrick is the head of the family and always makes sure to take care of his responsibilities to his brothers while also trying to find ways to help Malachy before the decay takes him completely. He does make time for spicy bantering with Charlotte and quality time getting to know both her and her son.

Though I wish we had seen more of how the alpha decay affected Malachy and the brothers' dynamic, I wouldn't trade any of the current scenes for those.
I'm happy with how J. West focused on the characters getting to know each other and slowly building their pack, rather than dragging out the more dramatic subplots.

If you love:
- Sassy FMCs who don't stand for any BS
- Sexy MMCs who are more than willing to maim (and more) to protect their own
- light mentions and scenes of the morally grey torture gore
- soft and cuddly scenes of growing relationships
- with plenty of hot & spicy times
Then I recommend adding Safe with Them to your TBR and putting it near the top!
Keep spreading those pages!
XOXO,

this new universe the Jillian West created is kind of messy and i love it 🤣 i mean you have an arranged marriage with Malachy, one of our mmcs, and an omega in another mafia family. but neither of them want to marry each other… but Malachy is going feral, so he needs to bond with an omega. and as the deadline approaches, Charlotte comes to stay with Malachy and his brothers so they can protect her. add in that one of his brothers, Cormac has been, “romantically stalking” Charlotte and hasn’t told his brothers 😅🤣

🌶️🌶️🌶️3/5 pepper

I absolutely devoured Safe With Them, Jillian West’s newest release, and it was exactly the mafia leaning, gritty, emotionally omega romance I’d been craving. This story centers on Omega Charlotte, who we first met in Bonded by Christmas, and I was thrilled when Jillian announced she was getting her own book. Even though Charlotte and her son Lucky only appeared briefly in Lacey’s book, they left such a strong impression that I immediately wanted more, and Jillian delivered.

One thing Jillian consistently excels at is crafting not just unforgettable main characters but supporting characters who feel so vivid and compelling that you want every single one of them to get their own book. Safe With Them is a perfect example of that strength.

The darker, grittier tone of this story really stood out. It’s one of the most intense books I’ve read from her outside of the Ruined Records duet, and she handled that shift beautifully. As anyone who reads motorcycle romance knows, MC members are rarely “good guys,” and Jillian captures that raw, dangerous edge without ever losing the emotional heart of the story.

I also fell hard for the MMCs, Patrick (the a**hole of the bunch), Malachy (rabid alpha), and Cormac (the sweetest st*lker). Each man brings something distinct to Charlotte’s journey and watching them slowly become part of her pack was incredibly satisfying. In true Jillian fashion, she makes them work for it, and I loved every second of that dynamic.

The character development, the relationship building, the pacing, the emotional layering, everything was phenomenal. This book hit every note I wanted to, and now I’m counting down the days until we see where Jillian takes us next.

I think it’s proper arc etiquette to wait till closer to release date to read and write a review. However, I have no chill and inhaled this the moment it hit my inbox.

As with almost all Jillian West omegaverse the men are obsessed and their omega is the absolute center of their universe. West balances the protective, touch her and die vibes with real emotion and male main characters who feel like they actually like and respect, not just the FMC, but all women. Spicy cinnamon rolls.

Malachy, Cormac and Patrick are three brothers in charge of a crime family. They get roped into protecting Charlotte and her son Lukas but quickly fall for her. I love all Jillian West books but not all of them have real stakes. Her books are safety and some lean more into that so any suspense subplot kinda fizzles out. Which is why it’s a real treat for me when she ups the ante a bit. Charlottes on the run from Lukas’ dad, who is also the head of a 1% MC club. I loved seeing Malachy, Patrick and Cormac go defcon 5 to protect their new family. I like my fluff with a side of torture.

Charlotte was used to doing everything on her own and maybe it’s the eldest daughter in me but I love when the men swooped in to prove to her she doesn’t have to take everything on by herself. Acts of service kings! Much of the guys inner monologue was trying to figure out how not to scare off Charlotte with how much they wanted to take care of her. They offered her safety and she slowly starts to relax into them.

If you want fluffy, spicy romance where the men get gold medals in respectful obsession and the women learn to let themselves be loved, read a Jillian West book.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

*ARC Review*
I absolutely loved this book. Malachy, Patrick, and Cormac were an amazing trio of men. I love each of them in their own way. Malachy is an alpha turning rabid, Patrick is running the family, while also being an amusing asshole, and Cormac is my cute lil glasses wearing stalker. These brothers were just perfect for Lacey and her son, Lukas (AKA Lucky), who are running from the MC that Lacey was once a part of.

I really enjoyed Lacey as the FMC and thought she was perfect mix of vulnerable and badass. I especially loved that Lukas never felt like he was forgotten in the story. He was always there and loved and yet it took absolutely nothing from the relationship she was building with the guys.

Some things to expect:
- Single mom
-Organized crime Remote
-Breeding kink
-Public claiming scene in front of other heads of the family
-Virgin MMC

As always, I think this author does the best job of covering content warnings with and without spoilers. If you really get upset over certain things in a book, she is def a safe author for your pansy ass.

😆

Kidding.

Anyhoooo. This story sort of connects to the one before with Lacey as the fmc. Bonded Christmas. I would suggest reading that book first. Then coming back to this. It allows all the side characters and honestly portions of the plot to make sense.

Standalone but not really. See comment above.

RH. No MM.

oWD-but little o. She doesn’t like them either. 🤣

oMD-I mean-the fmc is running from her past bf and is traumatized by it and by him, plus ex bf is baby daddy- so I consider that omdrama 🤷🏻‍♀️but not in a manner that puts it in your face. Little o.

Low spice.

Scent matches.

The story reads a bit like the previous one if I am being at all honest. So a bit cookie cutter. Copy. Paste. Same giant alpha going feral. Omega working at a scent clinic. Idk. If you read both books back to back you will catch the similarities. Even tho one girl is a single mom and the other isn’t. The other one has a stepbrother but not really bc their parents only recently were married so the entire step brother thing as adults is weird.

Wasn’t enough to just sling a star off.

But like, it was also enough where I was thinking “this is like the last book”.
Tbf, the stories go together and yes run along the same timelines-so that can also make it feel like they are similar too.

KU.

HEA

Additional preg and children in epilogues.

You cannot avoid the children in this book. FmC is a single mom of a 3yo. So if you don’t like kids or wanna read about that or pregnancy-skip this book.

Safe With Them - Jillian West
5/5✨🌟

* SPOILERS *

I never ever get disappointed when it comes to Jillian’s books but I think this might be one of my favorites that she has written. I was immediately drawn in and I think it was all because of Lukas aka Lucky. He was just the cutest little boy ever.

I just loved how these guys would do anything for Charlotte and Lucky. If anyone hurts either one of them, they better watch out because these guys would kill for them no matter the consequences.

What I really loved about this mafia omegaverse was how it was more into their relationship than the mafia aspect. I also loved how Malachi was so close to going insane but the moment he meets her and her son, he’s more sane. He’s just so sweet and tender with both of them. I think he may be my favorite from Patrick and Cormac.

And my goodness, the first time with Charlotte and Cormac. She was so sweet to him his first time. Honestly, I thought Malachy might go crazy because of everything but man, he was so compassionate.

I loved Patrick and I laughed when he was like “she shot my brother”. Simply priceless:

The way that the guys take care of Lucky and Charlotte was something she never even dreamed about. From spoiling Lucky with all the toys and to treating her so good, I was in it for the sweet story Jillian dished out and oh yes, the spice was spicy for sure. I was here for every moment.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Safe With Them is part of the Boston Syndicate series, a collection of connected standalones. Each of the books in this series features a different FMC and ends with a HEA for the FMC and her pack. I received an advance review copy and my thoughts are my own. Thank you to the author for my eArc.

Tropes and themes include:
✨Omegaverse (a/o/a/a)
✨Why choose (MFMM)
✨Possessive MMCs
✨Light hurt/comfort
✨Irish mafia
✨Single mom on the run
✨Touch her and die
✨Rabid alpha
✨Sweet stalking & polite kidnapping
✨They fall first (&hard)
✨Scent matches
✨Nesting, knotting & bond marks
✨Multi, first person POV

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Nicknames: Sweetheart, Little One

The Lovely: I loved Charlotte’s story arc and how she had to learn to rely on others. It goes against everything she knows and scares her but the MMCs are so sweetly patient with her. I also liked that the FMC’s toddler son stays front and center during the story and the MMCs give him attention too.

Recommendation: If you read book one of the Boston Syndicate series, Bonded by Christmas, you met Lacey’s friend from work, Charlotte, and that’s who this book focuses on. And, we see some more of the omega who will be the FMC of the next book. If you like a blend of omegaverse and mafia romance with a single mom and MMCs who learn how to treat her right, I think you’d like this book.

So this is in the authors note in the beginning-

As a reader, I’m very sensitive to OW drama, but I set this up in a way that wouldn’t cause me to DNF if it was in a book I was reading.

So that’s about the mmcs situation which I didn’t even get to before I DNF. But…

At 25% in the fmcs flashback to 4 years ago when she was with an mc club, she walked in on her ex fucking ow and then at gun point he made her get on her knees and ‘lick his dick clean’. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 Next page the fmc runs away but omfg I dry heaved and closed the book immediately!!!! Never thought I would read something like that in a Jillian West book! And she says she’s sensitive to OW drama but puts something like that in! I know he’s not the mmc but that is horrific to do that to your fmc!!!

At this point, I don’t think I have a favorite book of Jillian’s. I don’t know how she does it… She sucks me into every single world and makes me obsessed with every single grouping of characters. Obviously, I have a little bit more love for the psychos… It’s a character flaw of mine, I know… But there isn’t one book of her books that I wouldn’t reread on a regular basis. Every time she ends a series I go back and reread everything together because I just can’t help myself. This book was no different.
Every single time she puts out a book I immediately devour it usually within a day… This was an example of my obsession with her writing… No adulting… No regrets.
I am really hoping to see more of this grouping of characters in the future because I’d love to see that giant child turn into an alpha! I don’t know what it is, but I love how she does second generations… But without spoilers, I absolutely love that this FMC seemed a little bit more troubled from the beginning than what we normally get out of Jillian. She was strong and determined, and extremely protective which I adore, and all of her men are absolutely perfect, perfectly psycho in their own ways. Their interactions absolutely had me kicking my feet and squealing. Who doesn’t love an overprotective MMC (or 3) and I found it extremely adorable how shy the professional follower was. It made me all melty! I honestly cannot wait to see what group of characters she brings in next. Give me more of the gruff and growly and over the top protective MMC‘s and the FMCs that know how to keep them in check.

Gross

This left a bad freaking taste in my mouth. Towards the beginning of the book, we have a flashback of the MFC, then barely 18, having to take part in her own SA in front of a bunch of laughing men. So when she is informed towards the end of the book that her new pack is expected to publicly have sex with her in front of the other mafia heads to claim her and mark her as off limits, I literally felt nauseous. ruined this entire book for me. Like, that goes against every claim they've had of valuing her and being protective of her.

This went from, "not bad" to "I HATE IT" real quick.

This book gave me all the feels. Charlotte has a rough past, a reaaally rough past and her present is nothing to write home about but it all changes when certain brothers decide that a little romantic st@lking is perfect courting etiquette. From the moment they lay their eyes on Charlotte it's game on. Charlotte is a really relatable character, her kid is her number one priority and I respect that about her. The brothers have very distinct personalities that complement Charlotte perfectly. The found family vibe in this one is pretty strong but it's also a little darker than Jillian's previous books, which I really enjoyed.
Also, Malachy is mine🤨

🌶️🌶️🌶️1/2

Reading a Jillian West Omegaverse romance is like getting a warm hug from your favorite person.

This book was so easy to binge! Single mother Omega in hiding, forced proximity, sexy Alphas, and mafia vibes. (Let’s not forget the light stalking and kinda-but-not-really-kidnapping, either).

Very low stress, the men are all in (he falls first x 3) with both Charlotte and her son, Lucky. Not quite as spicy as other OVs - it’s pretty hard to get busy when there’s a toddler around - there’s still all the scenting, knotting, and claimings we love in OV.

This can be read as a complete standalone, though there are some character crossovers from Bonded by Christmas. Charlotte and her men get their HEA.

Thanks to Jillian West for the eARC.

“I would do unimaginable things to keep them safe.”

Overall 4.5/5 Stars

I love the morally grey over-the-top men that Jillian West writes! Her books land in a definite comfort spot for me, with very little angst, and super satisfying courting/romance. It is so fun to giggle over the antics of men who color outside the lines a little too much.

I found it so easy to identify with the toddler parent situations with sweet little Lucky! He is so adorable and I always love the dynamics that a child brings to the mix of the romance. Watching these rough-around-the-edges men interact and build relationships with Lucky is just so sweet and heart-melting!

All in the family with Omegaverse.

Charlotte is running from a MC from Florida and is hiding in Boston with her young son when she found there is some confusion because her friend is the one attacked. One of the syndicate families of Boston is asked to provide her with protection. The O'CONNELL brothers have no problem providing Charlotte protection, she is everything in an omega they have dreamed of, with older brother Malachy approaching turning rabid, they hope she will want to stay and bond with them. Youngest brother, Cormac had previously met Charlotte and was stalking her and middle brother Patrick happy to have everyone else happy. It was sweet with a little tension around the MC, but we get our happily ever after.

I like this author but I'll be honest and say this one wasn't exactly my favorite! spoilers.

I think we get a ton of cool backstory and it starts to slide into a cool crime book, then we get the romance and all the build up stops.

I was really hoping for more of a balance between plot and romance but it's alright I like the author, I'll read more of her.

Usually I get to make a rather excited currently reading post, but not with Safe With Them because I could not put it down! I devoured it in a way that completely threw off my sleep schedule; I was falling asleep at 3am against my will because I absolutely needed to read just one more page. I was so happy to step back into this world Jillian West has created, and this series keeps me begging for more. Safe With Them felt so real and heartbreaking, while also being funny and saucy, but I've grown lovingly accustomed to Jillian West's beautifully impactful writing.

Charlotte broke my heart immediately, and as the book progressed, I got to learn more about her life before this book, and it broke me even more. Charlotte has been living in a fight or flight mode for so long, and I ached for her. She tried so hard to give her son everything she could while still looking over her shoulder, wrapped in fear and guilt that makes me so angry on her behalf. She's tough and strong, not by choice but by the experiences that forged her, and just because life has forced someone to change that doesn't mean they have to keep living in survivor mode. That's why her pack are so perfect; they see and are astounded by everything she has had to do by herself, and they make her realise that it's ok to count on people that will keep her safe and to focus on her own needs as well.

Cormac, our romantic stalker—honestly, I adore him! His insecurity in how he measures up to not only alphas in general but also his older brothers is so endearing. I love that when reading his POV, I got to witness his realisation of his obsession and fixation over Charlotte. I couldn't help but chuckle every time he tried to be a gentleman when it was alpha-run thoughts skimming through his innocent mind. There are two things about Cormac that never failed to make me laugh, and they are his interesting reframed ideas of his shader activities and his need to panic shop!

Patrick, the middle brother and the one that stepped up and started running the show as Malachy deteriorated, is charmingly arrogant in the most delightful way. I loved the banter he had with his brothers, but his back and forth with Charlotte was thoroughly entertaining. He knows just the right way to rile her up and make her fiery in the best way, and she sure knows how to bring him to his knees. But I also loved getting to see his softer side with caring for Charlotte and spending time with her son, and the moments of grief shown were so beautifully written.

If Jillian West is writing them, then I'm obsessed with a rabid alpha because Malachy is such a treat! He's rugged, giant, has the tact of a bull, and is utterly besotted by Charlotte and her son, and I simply couldn't stop falling in love with him. He's so soft with Charlotte, and in a world where alphas like Malachy need an omega, Charlotte needed each of what these brothers offered her just as much. A lot of the moments between Malachy and Charlotte made me maybe a little too emotional; there's such a tenderness between them. These two souls are feeling lost in different ways, and by needing each other, they are healing parts of themselves that I found so beautiful.

The spice was delicious! There were the scorching hot and liquidly warm moments, emotionally raw and humourous ones as well, and the heart-tendering moments of instinct becoming desire, but the final MFMM scene will not leave my brain for how great it was! What can I say? I live for some exhibitionism. But the mouths of these boys had me fanning my cheeks as I giddily grinned like an idiot! And, as always, consent and respect for the omega are high on everyone's list, which is one of the many things I utterly adore about Jillian West's omegaverse.

If you love omegaverse reads with all their saucy goodness, Irish Mafia romances, forced proximity, a damsel in distress that just so happen to be single mum, and he falls first and the hardest but multiplied by three, then pick this book up. Safe With Them can be read as a standalone, but if you want the full introduction to this world and the events that transpired before this book, then I suggest reading Bonded By Christmas first—you'll love it!

“I’m a catch. At least, I think I am. I could be for her. All those positive attributes have to make up for a bit of light stalking, right?”

✔️MFMM contemporary omegaverse why choose romance
✔️single mom damsel in distress
✔️irish mafia romance
✔️sweet romantic stalking
✔️accidental (gentle) kidnapping
✔️rabid alpha
✔️knotting, nesting, “she’s mine” vibes
✔️no 3rd act breakup

This book is a cute mafia omegaverse romance at its core. The subject matter is definitely on the darker side (and there is on-page violence), but the romance itself isn’t dark at all. They very gently (and romantically) stalk and kidnap her (which sounds like it wouldn’t make sense, but I promise it does when you read it). The tone matches this author’s other mafia stories, and there is some humor scattered throughout that lightens the overall vibe. Though the main characters are scent/soul matches this book doesn’t have overly instalove vibes, it’s a slower burn character driven romance.

The FMC (Charlotte) has a past that the has been running from since she found out she was pregnant with her three year old son Lukas (Lucky). Though she was successful in changing her identity and laying low, her past has caught up to her and just as she is ready to run the O’Connor brothers show up and declare that they will protect her and her son. For those who are worried about OW drama, you should be aware that the men are *technically* engaged to another woman through a marriage contract that was set by their fathers decades ago, and neither side are interested in fulfilling that contract. She only shows up in the story a couple of times, and she is very happy with the idea that the O’Connors found their omega so she doesn’t have to enter into a contractual marriage that she doesn’t want with them. She doesn’t want to cause any stress or drama for the FMC. They’re good (morally grey) guys, just not the men for her.

I feel like this book is prefect for someone who likes sweet contemporary omegaverse and wants to venture into slightly darker books but don’t want a lot of angst or it to be too dark. The main focus of the book is a very sweet (though slightly unhinged and quite spicy) love story, but there is dark stuff happening around them. These men are loyal, possessive, and definitely fall first and harder. They won’t hesitate to do anything they have to do to keep their omega and child safe. I am very excited to see what happens with the next book (the FMC is the “OW” from this book) and who she ends up with!

One of the reviews nearly scared me off but I liked it.
I tend to avoid ARC reviews and always browse the one stars before reading. Julian West is usually a safe author for me and I got worried when I read the one stars because I donʼt do well with public humiliation and I wonʼt read a book that has cheating in the relationship. Past experiences are fine but I wonʼt finish a book where the male character cheats and they end up together.

I donʼt review often but I think a couple of the reviews are purposely inflammatory or down right misleading so I thought I would add my two cents. Charlotte is treated horribly by her ex (((this is warned about clearly in the content note and the author gives the chapter if you donʼt want to “live the experience”)))

I thought that was thoughtful and I read the entire note carefully. It says the author herself doesnʼt do well with other woman drama but that she wrote it in a way not to upset readers when it comes to Vanessa. (((this is the brothersʼ fiancée through a marriage contract))) She doesnʼt have any past relationship with the men and they are not interested in her or vice versa. There is a clear trigger warning for cheating with a past partner which is what plays out in the past with the MFC and her ex.

The “end game relationship” is very safe. The men have been celibate or are virgins. They donʼt rub past conquests in the MFC face. You have a warning to skip the flashback chapter if there are any sensitivities and I appreciate an author taking the time to give her readers a clear warning. Whether readers are smart enough to read that warning is left to be seen.

Onto my actual review.
I liked the set up but it was redundant with the first book. If itʼs a continued series I donʼt want to or need to relive scenes that Iʼve already read. The beginning of the book overlaps with Bonded By Christmas and it was almost enough to have me skimming. I read through the scenes mostly to get to the new content and you gain some new information but not enough that they needed to be shown.

That page space could have been used to show more romantic scenes, the guys spending more time with Lukas, or their jobs in the mafia. What they actually do was left somewhat ambiguous.

The parts I loved were how tender and caring the brothers were with Charlotte. She had a rough go of it and they treated her great. No complaints there. It was a bit draggy in the spicy scenes in the middle and picked up nicely to the conflict with Charlotte’s ex. I absolutely loved the scenes with Charlotte being a mother to her son and the epilogue with another baby. I would have liked to see another epilogue five or ten years in the future.

If you have triggers I recommend reading the content note.

The only highlight of this book is Malachy. I have however one issue with him. He is supposed to be nearly rabid, but he sure doesn't act like that besides his first meeting with Charlotte. After that we are told that her pheromones magically cured him. He should still have moments of being feral before they bond, as we saw for example in No Way Out.

Onto what didn't work in this book:

- Unfortunately this book suffers from the same issue as the first one in the series - too much internal monologues. I hope this is a temporary issue and it will get better in the next book.

- A sexworker discussing her child with a client is unimaginable for me. I understand that Jillian's books are on the fluffy side, but this was beyond naive and stupid. Also the whole arrangement with Sarah and Chris weirded me out. If there is security and check-in desk, how come Sarah the beta was able to make an appointment? It makes no sense.

- This is the second book in the series and we are to believe that at the "Tasty Treat" clinic the appointments are very pg-13, which I do not believe for one moment is what would be going on in that establishment. We had a similar setting with High Roller Omegas and there it was more realistic. Omegas got clients who paid them for their companionship and sex. Since Tasty Treat doesn't pay their employees enough money (as Charlotte states), I have no doubt in my mind that the employed omegas would sleep with their clients for more money and better tips. Bills don't pay themselves, life is brutal.

- On the other hand, if this is something closer to a real clinic, then the women should be paid better, have medical insurance, etc. and the clientele would be more exclusive, since not every Alpha could afford it. It would resemble then something akin to the Heat Clinic in Alexis B Osborne's books, which would not be a unusual. This is set 50 years in the future, such clinics could really start popping up in Jillian's ov world. All in all this current version of the scent clinic doesn't make any sense.

- Charlotte trusts Lacey, a woman she barely knows from work, to run after her only child and bring him back. She doesn't run after him herself, instead she decides to just sit and wait for them. I have no words, no mother ever would behave like that. They would be frantic and panicking not casually sitting and waiting for their only child to be rescued by her coworker.

- Charlotte also doesn't really seem to learn anything from her experience with the MC and proceeds to easily fall in love with the mafia men. They didn't even have to court her, she doesn't really make them work for it.

I absolutely love Charlotte and her men. I’m also really glad that Jillian West decided to have a boy first this time. In several of her other books, the omega either already has girls or ends up pregnant with girls before boys, so it was really nice to see something a little different for a change.

Charlotte has spent her entire life keeping her three-year-old son, Lucky, safe. But no matter how careful she is, she can’t shake the feeling that someone is watching her.

Then there are the O’Conner brothers.

Cormac, the sweet bookworm who just “happens” to keep running into her. Patrick, the middle brother and the leader of the family, whose sarcasm and confidence are unmatched. And Malachy, the oldest brother, who is slowly losing his battle with becoming a rabid alpha—but honestly deserves the nickname “marshmallow,” at least when it comes to Charlotte and Lucky.

This is another fantastic addition to the author’s collection. I’ve read almost all of Jillian West’s books, and every single one has been amazing. If you haven’t read her yet, you are seriously missing out.

One thing I’ve noticed across many of her books is that the omegas often have girls first or mostly girls, which made the change in this book stand out even more. For example:

Not Many Options – two girls, then a girl, then two boys

Out of Options – one girl, four boys, one girl

Not Ready & Ready or Not – girl

The Monster's Den – one girl, four boys

A Pack for Christmas – four girls

Plus Two – girl

When She Needs Them Most – girl, boy, girl

Unexpected Delivery – girl, girl, boy

With A Little Luck – girl, girl, girl

All In – girl, girl

Three of a Kind – girl, boy

So having Lucky as the first child here was a fun change of pace.

OV Tropes:

FMMM

Hurt and comfort

Single Mom Omega

Nearly feral Alpha

Lots of 🌶️🌶️ knots

No cheating or third-act breakup

Does anyone else ever wish they could actually live in an OmegaVerse universe, or is it just me? I think I would make a fantastic Omega. Snuggles, cuddles, sweet, yet able to have (and take 😏) more than one mate at a time. Sounds like a good life to me. Put me in one of Jillian Wests OV's and it would be just about perfection.

I absolutely love how each of our Alpha's are their own person, they each have their own personalities and their own idiosyncrasies. I also like how neurodivergent characters are included in her series, they almost always tend to be my favorites, because generally they just don't care for most people but the ones that they do, they will go to the wall for them. That's Cormac in this story, he's a little stalkery, a little obsessed, willing to do anything and everything to keep Charlotte safe - as a good mate should, even if he's not technically her mate. Yet. Malachy is close to going rabid, since he's cut off nearly all contact with Omega's as he's been promised to Vanessa (😒) since basically childhood. Patrick's the good time guy, who also is doing what he can to hold Malachy together until they're able to bond with their Omega, who was supposed to be Vanessa but ends up being Charlotte.

Charlotte is running from her baby daddies MC family, for literally running away from them and for what she did before she ran. Everything she did and continues to do is for her son Lucky, all on her own. So when 3 men barge in to her life, and kinda gently kidnap her, its hard for her to accept their help. As with most OV's there is plenty of spice, I usually like the full group scenes the most but with these Alpha's being brothers, it made more sense for most scene's to be one on one, or two on one. I also like how Vanessa kinda sorta redeemed herself at the end and I can't wait to see where her story takes us!

And Jillian West has done it again!

“Don’t let anyone make you feel an ounce of shame about keeping yourself alive. You never apologize to anyone for being a survivor.”

Another book with slightly unhinged and depraved alpha males that you can’t help but love and a strong female character who they all become obsessed with. Chuck in a cheeky Irish accent because you can’t get any hotter than a psychopath with an accent and we can’t forget about the cute 3 year old who manages to have some of the scariest alpha males wrapped around his little fingers and you’ve got yourself another amazing read.

I hold a special place in my heart for single mothers, as parent myself I know how hard raising kids can be and that’s with my husband’s help. I can’t imagine not only raising a child on my own but also on the run and starting over with nothing. Charlottes strength is truly amazing and awe inspiring.
She is kind, loving and sassy as hell (mainly with Patrick). I’m so glad she finally found her home, she deserves her happy ending.

It’s not often I read a why choose book and don’t have a favourite male lead but I can honestly say with this one I liked all three equally. Cormac with his quiet intensity reminded me of an emotional blanket. Patrick with his cheekiness, it shouldn’t be hot but it is. Plus it’s a toss up if Charlotte will punch him or kiss him so brings a bit of fire to the relationship and lastly Malachy, he reminded me of a bear, he could grumble and growl but also would just pick charlotte up and hold her. All three men bought something unique to the relationship and I loved how they fit so well together.

Did I already mention the Irish accent? Or the fact that all 3 men become completely smitten with lucky and spoil him like crazy. Seriously smut material!
Read the book, you won’t regret it!

4.5 ⭐️

I really enjoyed this book, what more could you want than an Omegaverse x mafia cross over?! This is book 2 in the series and is Charlotte’s story on finding her pack, all the characters we have met before in book 1.

Charlotte, a single mum to 3 years earlier old lucky, escaped from her abusive ex, a violent MC president. All she wants is to build a safe life for her and lucky, when her past catches up to her the O’Conner brothers step in to protect her, at the request of Lacey and her pack (from book 1). Patrick, malachy and cormac aren’t keen on the idea. Patrick isn’t interested in relationships, he’s busy running the family business. Malachy is slowly turning feral and also subject to a marriage contract signed by his parents and another family years ago, he doesn’t want to marry but will do it to uphold the contract. Cormac doesn’t really care as he’s becoming obsessed with the omega he’s lightly stalking. What none of them expect is to find their scent match in Charlotte. Now that they’ve found her they will do everything it takes to keep her and lucky safe and erase her problems.

I really enjoyed this story, Jillian’s books just really hit that sweet spot of a good, entertaining, engaging read, that’s not too heavy on the darker violent streaks but still packed with spicy bits but oh so sugary sweet goodness. Even though this book does touch on some darker themes, it’s touched on very lightly and mostly off page, with only a few flashbacks/dreams of the past abuse Charlotte suffered.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I found it to be a little repetitive with covering the events of the previous book, where there was overlap in the story.
It it did redeem itself with really good characters, great banter and sweet, protective and obsessive alphas!

I look forward to the next book in the series which is Vanessa’s story (Malachy’s ex fiancée).

Charlotte is an Omega on the run. When she found out she was pregnant with her son she ran from the man who was mistreating her. Years later finds her in Boston working in a pheromone clinic and chasing around a toddler. She's never stopped looking behind her for fear that her past will find her.

Unfortunately the motorcycle club she ran from is now in the area. Luckily for her, she has caught the eye of a member of the leading Irish Maf!a. Cormac O'Connor has been in her life for a bit randomly keeping tabs on her. When his brothers are asked to keep watch over her as well, well things get a little dicey as who wouldn't be a little freaked out to know someone who they've met several times has been sleeping outside of their apartment and following them? And then when his brothers politely k!dnap her and her son? Again, dicey.

I love how not only did the men fall for her and fast, but they were protective over her and her son no matter what the relationships looked like. They genuinely wanted her and Lucky safe. Ok and they wanted to buy Lucky all the animals in the world, but apparently that was a no with Charlotte. The relationships were all different and moved at differing paces that I think was perfect for this story. Cormac had me laughing so many times and honestly watching Lucky be a kid was pure "yup mine does that too". There were "aw" moments, giggles, and me cheering especially when Mal calls Charlotte a menace, which she absolutely was.

Some tropes:
He falls first and hardest
Cute kiddo
Knots
Nesting
Pol!te K!dnapping
Irish Mafia
Brothers in pack
Omega in hiding
Damsel in distress
