Nope, I'm out. DNF @ 16% because I can't bring myself to read another nonsensical sentence due to the ridiculous lack of punctuation. Add to that I will probably end up detesting the hero because he's so juvenile and I'm calling this done.

DNF @ 33%. This has an interesting premise and I liked the sample enough to download the full version, but I just wasn't feeling it. There was a lot of backstory, but other than that -- not much has happened. I was skimming at this point and I was just...bored. The h and H haven't even had that many interactions at this point. It might get better, but I'd rather move on...sorry.

5 Mikey Stars!

This is a story about a man named Mikey Valente and a woman named Nikki Pastore growing up in a family of gangsters in New York . With a six year difference between the two, Nikki was a tag along whenever Mikey and her sister Adriana were together. He remembered Nikki as the little spitfire with braids and braces being a pain in the ass who called him Mikey, which he hated but only she could get away with it.

When Mikey loses his father, taking a bullet for Victor Pastore, his mother packs up and moves to Pennsylvania leaving the life of crime Mikey was exposed to in hopes he can live a straight life. That was the case until he lost his mom due to an accident that left him completely on his own. After ten years Victor Pastone finds Mikey and offers him a job which he hesitantly accepts.

When Mikey sees Nikki for the first time in ten years, she is no longer the little girl with the braids and metal in her mouth, no she's beautiful. Getting to know each other again is tough to do, both of them are lusting for each other, knowing it isn't right. Mikey has nothing to offer and Nikki's in a relationship.

On a night that was to be a special night for Nikki, she is caught up, along with Mikey in a shoot out which sends them on the run.

Two people who are attracted to each other having to be in the presence of the other for an unknown amount of time could be a dangerous thing to have to do.

This story has pretty much an equal amount of crime and mystery, not a lot of activity in the sex department (bummer), oh and I won't even try to touch on Aunt Gina and Nana, oh my gosh between those two and Mikey's inner voice, that is where I found the fun! This would be perfectly suited for those who want a little of each of said topics but not too heavy.

If you want to know more then read the book! :D

4 Holy Mickey Star’s

I totally read this in the wrong order and that’s ok because stand alones weeee.

So let’s condense my 2 pages of note. Michael’s father worked for Victor and died for him. Victor has 2 daughters Nikki and Adrianna; Anthony works for Victor but has a thang for Adrianna.
Anthony comes after the death of Michael’s mom to bring him into the ‘family’ so to speak, Victor has a legit job for him not related to his business.

When I first meet Nikki, I thought oh god princess but that is soooo not the case. She is a kick ass chick I loved her devotion to her family and her boyfriend even if that was miss placed.
She finds herself in love but sometimes love just isn’t enough.

Michael you know right away has demons he has to overcome, but it’s the loss of his mom that broke my heart.
He’s having a hard time believing he is worthy of someone’s love.

I HEART Anthony not only for the humor he brings with regard to Michael because that’s just great but you can sense his feelings for Nikki’s sister even if they don’t really have a big role in this book.

Even though Nikki has Rico her boyfriend, Mickey as she calls Michael feels like something is off about him and he tries to get others involved but they are not feeling it because they think it’s a ploy because he has a thang for Nikki… She has one for him too so don’t go getting crazy thinking cheating thoughts..

So stuff happens (worst and best 21st birthday ever) I can’t talk about and yeah the story is epic and HOT and awesome and everyone needs to read this series if you like Alpha, Biker male.

It has a HEA you have to know this already… I have some great quotes too as always.

“Victor I’m not my father.” - Michael

More a comment in his head that out loud.

‘The man who was lucky enough to be with her should be the man who wanted to take care of her.’ – Michael

“I’m not going after some fucking gangster with the Golden Girls as my back up.” –Michael

Not a quote but for me this book embodied this: Sacrifice = Love

Spoilers ahead

I started this series to get the backstory needed before I finished reading Drifter and honestly the writing style of that book was different to this one otherwise I'd have quit at maybe 10%

The mcs were very immature
The writing style and errors drove me bonkers
h had a boyfriend but he was proven to be a bad guy
Sex scene with H and OW at the beginning that was interrupted, this was before he'd seen the h again
They were childhood friends but she was a child with a crush on him so nothing happened
Mob business with murders and such
Eh it was barely ok

Illicit Temptations
Janine Infante Bosco
4.5 stars

Michael Valente’s mother Maryann took him away from the Pastore Crime Family the day after they buried his father Val. His father was Victor Pastore’s best friend; they called each other brothers and that is exactly why his father threw himself in front of an ambush; to give his life for someone that truly wasn’t his own flesh and blood. His mother has to be the reason why after all these years that same man, the man he called Uncle Vic for so long is standing in his apartment along with Jimmy Gold and Michaels childhood friend Anthony Bianci. Today Michael would go sign the papers to pull the plug on his mother’s life support. But what did that have to do with Victor and why was he here wanting to bring him “home.”

Victor wants nothing more than for Michael to come back to New York with him. He chose to honor Maryann’s wishes and leave she and Michael alone so that the life that took her husband’s didn’t touch her son. Victor broke his promise to his best friend all those years. Both men swore that they would look after each others family if anything happened to either of them. Vic chose to honor Maryann but now he was going to make good on his promise to his best friend even if it was so many years later. He intends on offering Michael a job managing his new club Temptations. The club is one of the few businesses that are on the up and up. He will do whatever it takes to protect Michael from anything dirty touching him. He just has to convince Michael to come home where he belongs.

Nikki was the tag along when Michael left. Adrianna was Michaels’ age and the kids were all raised as cousins which included Anthony in the mix. Adrianna and Anthony only had eyes for each other. Michael just knew they would be married and have a few kids by now but something happened. Anthony wont say and Adrianna is sitting at the table with a toddler name Luka that isn’t Anthony’s. Needing something familiar he wonders where Nikki is; where could the lanky girl with braces be keeping herself. The minute he sees her he realizes that she isn’t that girl anymore. In fact she is all grown up but the douche bag pulling up and disrespectfully groping her is getting under his skin. Rico isn’t the man for her and something is way off about him. What he doesn’t understand is why Vic is allowing his daughter to be man handled and not saying anything. He obviously kept Anthony and Adrianna apart so why he is allowing Nikki to be on the arm of this asshat. Michael knows something isn’t right. He just needs to figure it all out before something terrible happens again.

The story unfolds from this point and its really intriguing. Something went down that nobody is talking about with Adrianna and Anthony. Both are completely tormented over it. Nikki is hiding behind Rico as well. She knows something is off but in the attempt to fight her attraction to “Mikey” she is staying put. Michael is a bad ass .. well he gets there so give it time and it doesn’t hurt that he is pretty darn hawt. There are several secondary characters that I loved! Anthony is one along with Jack “Bulldog” Parrish, the president of Satan’s Knights MC.

This book is a standalone and the ending is fantastic. There isn’t a cliffhanger per say unless you are interested in reading Anthony and Adrianna’s story which is due out next. Janine promises us that “Forbidden Temptation” will be coming soon. On her FB page she says we are getting three books in this series. Im hoping that the last book will be on our man Jack but we shall see. If you love MC books you get a little of that plus lots of sexy time, suspense, mafia, shoot outs and a hilarious trip to a gate retirement community where you meet Nana, Aunt Gia and the “Crew.” I never laughed so hard in my life. Brilliant addition to the story! I will sit here waiting for Anthony (swoon) but in the mean time I plan on clicking on over to snatch up Janine’s series Pieces (The Riverdale Series). I hear its worth the read due to a man named Jake Lanza. You don’t have to tell me twice; heading on over now. All of the books are FREE with Kindle Unlimited!

I was provided an ARC of this book for the blog Ramblings Beneath the Sheets in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. Mike or Mikey as Nikki calls him just lost his Mother in a car accident and he gets a visit from Victor, the mob boss and the one who his Dad died protection years ago. He had promised to always be there for him but he hadn't seen him in ten years. Now he wants to be there for him ...haha is what Mike thinks.

Mike does travel to stay with Victor and eventually takes a legit job from him. Still doesn't make it easy.

Nikki is the youngest of Victors daughters. As a kid she had the biggest crush on Mikey. Even though she thinks he is sex on a stick she has a boyfriend. Someone who isn't with her just to get close to her Dad.

This is supposed to be a mix of both MC and Mafia. We only had a glimpse of the MC in this book but this is the first book and it's the one to set things up. I think the MC really starts coming in, in book two.

Due to language, violence and sexual content for adults only please

Illicit Temptations...what can I say?

Without going into too much detail (not until the release date), just take my word for it.

Michael Valente and Nikki Pastore are going to make you laugh, bite your lip, get your heart racing and can't help falling in love their story.

I've become a huge fan of Janine Bosco's stories since the Riverdale series (moment of silence for my dear, beloved hotness - Jake Lanza).

Illicit Temptations takes a bit of a different route, now focusing on the mafia and what goes on behind the scenes. How family is important and there is always hope for childhood crushes to turn into something more when they are all grown up!

What I loved about this story was that it was not our typical mafia love stories that are all over the place. There is not bloodshed every single page. The story truly focuses on our H and h, with merely the circumstances they were born into playing in the background.

Also, as a Brooklyn girl (born and raised) I couldn't tell you how happy I was reading about all of these places that I still visit today (Hey, Vegas Diner!, 86th Street, Villa Roma). And also, the most coolest thing ever? Longshoremen and the ILA! I'm married to one so it was freaking cool just reading about them and their little involvement in the scheme of things.

All in all, definitely add Illicit Temptations to your want-to-read list! I can't wait for Adrianna and Anthony's story next (now that, I'm so freaking curious to know what is the deal with those two!!!)!

Nikki and Michael were very easy to like. She had a crush on him since they were kids and he quickly realized that the little girl he had left behind had grown up into a beautiful woman.

Nikki and Michael had oodles of chemistry. Too bad she had a boyfriend. And while she had a connection to her boyfriend, especially because he didn't seem to be intimidated by her father, the mafia don of New York, what she felt for Michael was beyond compare.

I lived for every illicit look.
Every illicit thought.
And all of their illicit touches!

Michael was hilarious and it really shone through on their trip to Florida to escape a threat against Nikki's father. I laughed so much picturing him trying to escape elderly advances.

I knew loving these characters would be easy because I went into this already knowing who they were. I guess that's the consequence of reading the Nomad series before diving into the original stories. However, I have no regrets because it only made me enjoy these people more. I adored getting this in-depth look at the way love bloomed between Nikki and her Mikey, and also the glimpses shown of Victor Pastore, Anthony Bianci, Adrianna, etc.

**** I Love Story Time was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review ****

4 Stars!

I will admit that I was a little nervous to read this story. I loved Janine's Riverdale Series, and I didn't want to compare the two stories or the characters. I also didn't want to have too high of hopes because of how much I loved her previous books or that I might have held too high of standards for this story and be disappointed. I'm happy to say that this story was completely different then the Riverdale Series, and I am so glad it was! I really enjoyed it, and I think that Janine did a great job with writing a love series rather than a series about the mob.

Michael (Mikey) returned to his home town after being gone for 10 years. When he comes across Nicole (Nikki), all his child hood memories come back. Michael was close to Nicole and her sister, Adrianna. They were always together. One thing has changed...Nicole is all grown up. When Michael looks at Nicole he no longer sees the little girl he remembers. He now sees a beautiful women.

The attraction between Michael and Nicole is pretty hot. The problem? Nicole has a boyfriend, but that doesn't stop Mickey from flirting with her! There were so many parts I loved that Mikey would give Nikki a run for her money. Especially when it came to pushing her buttons always trying to get her all riled up. My favorite part of Mikey's flirting is when he asked Nikki if she's ever been properly kissed. She asks him ..

"What is it like to be kissed properly?"

"It starts off with our lips meeting sucking on one another's getting used to the feel of flesh to flesh. My tongue slips between my lips sliding along the seam of yours. You open up for me welcoming my tongue meeting it with your own. That first taste of you sends all the blood rushing to my dick and it takes all of my willpower not to push you up against the wall and fuck you the same way I fuck your mouth. My teeth graze your lower lip because I can't get enough of you. I nip, I suck, I pull, until your fingers are pulling me hair and your body is grinding against me straining for me to put my mouth on every fucking inch of your body. A proper kiss leaves you begging for more and left wondering if I managed to inflict that much pleasure on your mouth what would I do to you when my mouth invades your pussy."

After I read THAT, I was like..... YES!!!! Tell me more...tell me more!!! LOL! There are so many great parts to this story. I just don't want to give too much away, so I will stop here. What I will say is...this book is full of Mickey flirting, Nikki's smart mouth, and some major suspense. Mickey has made it on my list of "guys you can't help but fall in love with" and Janine Infante Bosco will continue to be on my "Top Authors' List!

Janine Infante Bosco weaved a tale of intrigue, crime, suspense and love.

Illicit Temptations is about children reaping the consequences of their parents actions. Nikki Pastore is the daughter of a crime boss... she has lived her life loving her father, although not approving what his business choices have been. She has distanced herself from that life as much as possible.

Michael Valente is the son of the crime boss' right hand, best friend and brother although not blood related. Michael's father was killed as he took a bullet saving Nikki's fathers life. That changed Michaels life drastically even moving away for over 10 years.

When Michaels mother passes away from cancer, Nikki's father is there to keep a promise he made Michaels father. He brings Michael back home and offers him a legitimate job...

Michael is grieving, and at the same time feeling good to be back in his life... and seeing Nikki... the little girl who hung around like a little puppy with her sister and him when they were children... but, Nikki isn't that little girl anymore. She is a beautiful grown up, sassy and intelligent woman. Michael decides to stay... try out his new life back in his old life because He wants to be near Nikki.

Nikki is dating a guy who really is not all she deserves. But being gun-shy with other men due to who her father is, she tries her best to make it a go with her boyfriend. When Michael returns.. he makes that decision even harder!

As in any crime family book.. there is intrigue, revenge and definitely drama, and Janine does not disappoint! She definitely gives you a ride, a dangerous ride while at the same time giving you the very souls of the characters. Great first book I have read from ms. Bosco! Can not wait to read the next book that is about Nikki's older sister.. and a very twisted love story!!

This was a different kind of book for me. I don’t usually go for the mafia type romances because there is often too much suspense or drama involved for me. This one was unique in that it had an amazing love story threaded in between all the other stuff. Both characters, Mikey and Nikki, come from mafia type families which automatically means there will be some kind of drama going on that will try to keep them apart. . I can’t go into too much detail without spoilers but I liked this book. I wasn’t falling down in love with it but I didn’t hate it either. The writing was done well and the dialogue was great. It’s a good read.

I was gifted this book for my honest opinion and I have to say this is an amazing book it starts off good and then it gets great. The story line and meeting the charcters Mikey and Nikki was awesome I feel in love with their story. I gave this book five stars because of the way it was written and how it kept you on the edge of your seat I know I couldn't hardly put it down and the only times I did my Kindle was charging. I want to thank Janine Infante Bosco for giving me a chance to read and review her book she is new to me and I have four more of her books to read so thank you so very much for giving me this opportunity.

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This a mafia romance full of suspense, mystery and some of the steamiest sex scenes I have very read. I loved this book. The characters are so well written you feel like they are real and you know them. Michael was sexy and strong with a filthy mouth, Nikki was strong and beautiful with a dirty mouth too. They both fight their attraction, the mafia and every other obstacle in their way. I would definitely recommend this one to read.

What I would want t know about this book:
Okay here's the skinny. It's an Mob book, all the usual trimmings. There is an OW scene, very short and not super bad at the very beginning, before getting together with the h. HEA and no cheating. Funny too. Some comedy. There is the lead in for the next book. This is a series.

Michael Valente...

My father was the Underboss of an organized crime family. He was murdered when I was a teenager leaving me broken. My mother died in a tragic accident, her death annihilated me. My life was in shambles until Victor Pastore, one of New York’s most notorious gangsters and my late father’s best friend, recruited me to work for him.

Everyone expected me to walk in my father’s shadow, to be the prodigal son, the next big thing to hit the mob. I was torn between filling those expectations and walking the straight line my mother wished I had. Nothing made sense and I felt as if I was just passing through life.

The only beacon of light in my otherwise dark world was the one girl that was off limits to me. The one girl who could bring me to my knees consuming my mind, body and soul.

She’s the sweetest temptation I’ve ever known and the most illicit.

Nikki Pastore....

My father’s a gangster. My boyfriend’s is the king of New York’s nightclubs. I am often labeled as Vic’s daughter or Rico’s girl, never just Nikki. I struggle for people to acknowledge me for the woman I am and not for the men in my life. I’m fighting a losing battle.

There is only one person who sees me for me, my Mikey.

He’s wild.
He’s reckless.
He’s hot as hell.

He’s completely unattainable, but oh so tempting.

Review

After the death of his mother, Michael Valente receives a visit from his dad old friend, the man his dad died for and one of New York Gangster, Victor Pastore, as he offers him to return to New York and help him with a new business. With nothing more stoping him in Pennsylvania he returns to New York. There he meets again with Victor’s younger daughter Nikki. She changed to much. She is no more the girl six older than him that followed him everywhere, now she is a sexy and beautiful woman. She is the greatest  temptation.

Everyone always see Nikki as the gangster daughter or for who she dated. When Michael comes back is her life he is the only one that sees her for who she really is. Michael is so attracting and the only thing she can think of is jumping over his bones, but she has a boyfriend and she has to stay with her head on control. Even though Michael is so tempting.

This book is the a mafia romance full of suspense and mystery and also steamy scenes. I really enjoy the book. It contain many things i loved. The character are so good.
•Sexy and filthy talking, Michael.
•Strong and sexy heroine, Nikki. She also likes dirty talking.

The attraction between them captivates you since the beginning.

“I stared at him, hoping that my mouth wasn't hanging open because the man before me is nothing like that teenage boy that left ten years ago. The man before me is a lethal weapon to  my system because I’m not sure I’m breathing as he holds me captive with just his stare. The little mob princess is royally fucked”

“I didn’t care that she caught me staring at her, nor could I stop if I tried. I watched intently as her tongue peeked out and ran along her plump lips before her teeth sank  into her bottom lip. I wanted to be the one nibbling on those lips, tasting them with my own tongue. I bet she tastes fucking delicious.”

The book continues as they both fight against the attraction and against the mafia. The book is well written and has a really god plot. It is just an amazing story. This need to be your next read.

Illicit Temptations thoroughly guides the readers into the life of Michael (Mikey) and Nicole (Nikki). They each has a different perspective of their current life and thoughts of every angle. Michael was grief-stricken on his father's horrible death who was a second in command of Victor Pastore crime family. He sacrificed his life to protect Victor. Now, all that Mikey has is his mother. Unfortunately, his mother was caught in an accident and holds a high risk in her current health and may not be able to survive. Mikey's left to decide on his own who he could put his trust to. Making it even tougher to live a life all by himself. Nicole, on the other hand, lives a fairly good life as she learns who she is in the Pastore family until her childhood, Michael reappears in her life that has her mind spinning how her life would turn out to be.

Yes! The excitement I felt when I finally received the ARC of Illicit Temptations kept me up because I just have to read the book the moment I have it in my hands! The intriguing blurb after checking it out on Goodreads has me chasing after this book and without a delay, I put aside any other reading material I have and jumped straight into the world of Janine Infante Bosco's, Illicit Temptations! No regrets and disappointment at all! I made the perfect choice indeed!

I may or may not have failed writing the short description but I assure you Illicit Temptations will blow your mind away! Firstly, I wanted to comment on how the prologue in the book went. I actually enjoyed how it left me hanging and it just encouraged me that the book was just getting into the story. The idea has me grinning from ear to ear. Especially, the way it conveyed the following chapters after the prologue!

Michael demonstrated a really good point at the end of the book. Throughout the book, he definitely did not agree with the people around him comparing him to his father, Val. I agree. Even though he knew he could do what his father could, he just ignored it. Mikey chose a different path, it may have been the same act but all in all, he proved to himself that he's much better than his father. In terms of decisions and a life that is peaceful without a trail of crime in his hand. I adore that about him.

In my opinion, the characters are well-rounded and the author definitely gives life to each of the characters with significant roles. Creating the characters with importance in the context and has a purpose making the story line engaging. Nicole has a forgiving heart and she's different in a way that she carries herself with a brave and pure love even when mistakes surfaced, she continues to do the right thing. Give the love that the person deserves. Simply, her love does not waver, firm and self-discipline manner.

The steamy, sizzling hot couple Mikey and Nikki has me devouring every page as I turn completely intoxicated, in a positive way. Leaving me breathless and self-satisfied, all in one go! The undeniable attraction that they have is one to look forward to in this book! I must confess right now that this is the first New Adult book that I truly find deliciously irresistible!

Anthony and Adrianna's story will be sure a bet to be a one heck of a good story just as good as Illicit Temptations! I can't wait for the second book! In summary, Illicit Temptations portrays a very concise and well-developed characters that will engross romance readers hungry for more!

Michael Valente has no direction. In his life, he has known many heartbreaks and tragedies. He lost his father to mob violence when he was just a teen. His mother immediately moved him away from the only home and friends he had ever known to keep him away from the bad element that killed his father.

Now years later he has to bury his mother after she dies in a tragic car accident. Feeling lost and alone, he decides to stay in the old neighborhood. Victor Pastore his father’s best friend and the man his father took a bullet for vows to be there for Mike like he should have been all those years ago.

Mike realizes it’s not Victor he wants to build a relationship with but his younger daughter Nikki Pastore. When Mike moved away, Nikki was a little girl with pigtails, braces and a sweet smile he could never forget.

Nikki is not the little tag along Mike remembers. She is a woman with a body he can’t stop dreaming about taking. Grown up Nikki is gorgeous, but she’s off limits besides, he has nothing to offer her no job and no future. He is a screw up and Nikki deserves so much better.

Illicit Temptations is not just a mafia romance. There is a lot of emotion, angst and plenty of sexual tension to go along with the mafia family theme. Janine carries us with the characters as they grow and change throughout the book. Told in alternating points of view, Mike and Nikki talk about how growing up in a mafia family isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Mike wants to be a better man than his father was but he doesn’t think he has it in him. Nikki makes him want more out of life she helps him see the possibility of a future.

There were so many facets to this book, love, drama, and laughter. When Mikey and Nikki go on the run you can expect things to heat up between them fast. Even Nikki’s Aunt Gina is hot for Mikey and of course, we can’t forget Nikki’s gun-toting grandma she was a hoot. The comic relief was a great addition to the story.

Victor Pastore, the patriarch or godfather if you will, of the family has had many great successes in his business career, but he has also had many failures in his family life. One of his biggest regrets is not being there for his best friend’s son after he gave up his life to save Victor’s. There is a very poignant moment between Mike and Victor that completely tugs at your heart.

Adrianna, Nikki’s sister and Mikey’s childhood friend Anthony had me hooked on wanting their story from the beginning. Something big happened there and I am looking forward to reading it in Forbidden Temptations.

As I have grown to expect from Janine this is a great well-written story that keeps your attention from the prologue that starts off with a bang to the epilogue that leave you wanting more of these amazing characters. This tale has romance, a little mob suspense and just the right amount of zing to keep you glued to the page. The phone sex scene will blow you away. Even though it is a series, this book you can read as a standalone. Anthony and Adrianna’s story is next and I for one can’t wait to find out how things end up for these two souls destined to be together.

“She didn’t say a word, but a moment later I felt her arm around my waist and her head fall gently on my chest. I smiled slightly draping my arm around her shoulder and wondered if there was ever a time in my life if I had fallen asleep with a genuine smile on my face.”

5 sexy thrilling, fun stars!! This book was intense and so much fun to read. And it’s about the mob, this book had me at mob!! I love a sexy gangster/mobster.

Okay so I don’t want to give too much away but this story is all kinds of sexy and thrilling all rolled into one. Michael is one sexy mob boss and Nikki is a tough as nails girl, their sparks are magnetic and charming. You can’t help but love them both and sit on the edge of your seat as you read this book!! Great first book in the series!!! I’m definitely hooked!!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review. I fell in love with Janine Infante Bosco’s writing when I read her Riverdale series and was honored to be able to get an advanced copy of Illicit Temptations.
Michael “Mikey” Valente was uprooted from his father’s mob family as a child after his father was murdered. He has been roaming aimlessly through life with no purpose, but drinking and random women until the last person in his life who he truly loves is tragically killed. He is thrown back into the life his father died for and his mother demanded he never be part of. He is reunited with Nicole “Nikki” Pastore who was just a young girl with braces and a crush for a guy who had a soft spot for her and her childish antics. However, she is a child no more. Grown up and definitely all woman. Nikki is the youngest daughter to the top mob boss in New York. All of her relationships have been based on who her father was and not about whom she was. She finally thinks she may have found a man who puts her first and she thinks she has her life in order. However, one look at the man Mikey has become has her questioning all of her feelings and future decisions.
This book is packed with all I have come to expect from Janine Infante Bosco. Her writing draws you in from the start and I could not help but be pulled by the emotion and connection. Mikey and Nikki’s connection is very sexy.
“Don’t do it Mikey.”
“Why?” I said pressing my lips to the corner of her mouth….
“Because it’s wrong”
“I usually do the wrong thing…. Give me another reason”
“I’m in a relationship”
“Tell me you love him”
“Why?”
“Because that’s the only thing that you could say that’s going to stop me”

As with the author’s other books there are secondary characters you can’t help but fall in love with as well. A cooky-gun-loving Grandma, a sex crazed-no-filter Aunt, and an older sister pinning for the love of one man who chose the mob over her (Which I am dying to see a book for these two). If you are looking for a book with everything: laughter, sorrow, sexual heat that almost explodes with an intensive action side, this is the book for you.

I am a huge fan of mafia romances and this book is one of the best that I’ve read. The story was so well-written and had all the elements of a fantastic book: action, suspense, humor, and steamy romance. Michael and Nikki were childhood friends but haven’t seen each other for 10 years. A family tragedy brings Michael back into Nikki’s life, and as soon as they lay eyes on each other there is an instant attraction. They attempt to fight against this attraction but are eventually unsuccessful.
These characters were so real and so likeable. Nikki was such a well-rounded character; she was sweet yet feisty, compassionate yet sassy, and she saw things in Michael that no one else did. Mikey and Nikki’s chemistry was so incredibly hot. There was really no hope in them fighting their attraction for each other, and when they eventually gave in, it was smoking hot. Their relationship was unique in that they were truly good friends who loved spending time together. There was nothing rushed or superficial about the connection between them, and I loved that. They challenged each other constantly, and their back and forth banter was hilarious. I laughed out loud so many times while reading, especially during the scenes with Nikki’s aunt and grandmother. I really enjoyed how well balanced the story was, there wasn’t too much of any particular element, and that was what made it such a great read. The supporting characters were intriguing as well, especially Anthony and Adrianna. I was so pleased to see that they will be getting their own story. I loved the small glimpses into their relationship that we were given, and can’t wait to get their full story. This was an excellent book and I highly recommend it!!

Michael Valentines life hadn’t been easy his father was a mob boss who was murdered, then his mother died, her death devastated Michael. His life was shattered he was alone until ten years down the line Victor Pastore a notorious gangster and friend of his late fathers offered him work.Michael was torn… his mother didn’t want the gangster life for him she wanted him to live his life away from all that, but everyone expected him to be like his father before him, take over where he left off.Michael didn’t know which path he was headed down but one thing for sure was Nikki was his guiding light in the darkness that surrounded him,but she was off limits.
Nikki Pastore grew up in the shadow of her father and his gangster lifestyle, she wants to be her own person, her boyfriend is king of the nightclubs no one sees her…for her…just as Vics daughter and Roccos girl….until Michael, he sees her,he gets her,hes hot and sexy and hes off limits.Michael and Nikki have known each other since childhood. When he sees her again a fire is lit insde him,he wants her,she wants him but she is with Rocco and he has nothing to give her.
But the heart wants what the heart wants and they want each other, their passion for each other is electric, when they are caught up in something they are forced to spend time together can they keep denying whats between them? Do they want to?Will they ever be free of their families to have a life together?
I loved this book I loved the writing, the story, yes it’s a mafia read but not your typical blood and guts mafia story,it’s a love story with mystery and excitement, some sexy hot scenes and funny secondary characters that also give you a few laughs!!! I cant wait to read the next story

Mobsters have the most interesting life but the most deadly as well. Someone is always looking to take out the boss and anyone who may or can get in the way. Innocent people always get in the way (collateral damage) and families are destroyed for it. Michael lost his dad because he put his loyalty to his friend over his family and Michael has been bitter towards a family friend for ten years, now he is losing his mother because of a drunk driver and the past is coming to get him and bring him home. Vic is a the man Michael's dad died for and found out about his mom and has come to bring him back to Brooklyn. Vic offers Michael a legit job but he's not sure how he feels about taking it. Michael is reunited with his tag along (from his younger days) Nikki and boy has she grown up. the friends he once grew up have all changed including himself, but what he won't do to get with Nikki. Nikki can't believe her eyes when her childhood crush comes home under the worst circumstances and can't stop thinking about him even though she has boyfriend. Things get interesting and the two have an attraction that they can't hide but still keep the friend aspect. Well ya know when it comes to the MOB something always goes a wry, and boy does it and Michael and Nikki must go on the lamb along with others in the family except Vic and Nikki's mom. first in the series and you will want to read.
Janine did a great job having the writing flow and writing from both perspectives. this is my new way of reading this way you know what both are thinking without wondering who's side to see thru the eyes of. Great flow in Janine's writing keeps you wanting more and to know what happens, so if you're interested pick it up.

I fell in love with the characters in this book. Yes they are a part of the Pastore Crime Family by association or physically in it but this story is about more than just the crime family.

Michaels father was the right hand man to Victor Pastore until he was murdered 10 years ago. After they laid his father to rest Michael's mother moved them away from New York and Victor. In those 10 years Michael started to resent and hate Victor for ignoring him and his mother after they lost his father. But after Michaels mother is in a horrific accident and he looses another family member Michael goes back to New York where he sees Nikki again for the first time. When he left she was a little girl now shes a grown woman who he cannot hide his attraction for.

Nikki being the daughter of the Victor Pastore has never been easy. All the guys shes with are either afraid of her father/family and dont last or they want something from her family. No one sees Nikki for just her and not her name until Niko. but when Michael comes back home Nikki starts questioning all her feelings for Niko and what is right.

Michael doesnt care for Niko from the beginning and something just doesn't sit right with him about the guy. But is it a gut instinct or because he has feeling for Nikki?

This book will have you hooked from the beginning and flipping the pages like crazy. I couldnt put this book down when i started and I'm so glad I didn't because it was amazing.

Cant wait to read more books from Janine in the future!!

Mobsters, romance, drama, suspense, this story has it all and so much more.

Michael has lost his father to the mob and his mother to a tragic accident. Victor vows to watch out for him. When Michael returns to New York he sees Nikki, the girl he grew up with, but now she is a women and he can't help but be attracted to her. Nikki has a boyfriend that is king of the New York nightclub scene. She thinks that he loves her for her and not for her father, but the secrets will come out.

I loved that this story did have mob action but was more focused on the feelings between Michael and Nikki. Michael feels that he is unworthy of love but throughout the story you will see him struggle with feeling and what he wants in his future. After her life is put in danger Nikki has to deal with the danger of her father's occupation. The secondary characters in this story were great. You will roll on the floor laughing with Aunt Gina and Nana's antics. They were two super mafia ladies who wielded shotguns.

"Yeah, Princess you broke my cock it only works when I am around you"

This is a well balanced story that draws you in and make you feel for what Michael and Nikki have to go through. There is the right amount of romance and angst. Follow two people as they discover true love and realize what they want in their futures.

This is the first time reading a novel by this author but not the last and I'm looking to read more. This is an awesome story full of secrecy, mystery and drama which starts at the beginning of the story until the very end. This story is about Michael Valente and Nikki Pastore and their history with an organized crime family. Michael was grieving about his father's horrible death who was a second in command of Victor Pastore crime family. He sacrificed his life to protect Victor and all that Mikey has was his mother. Now his mother has just died in a road accident, and this tragedy adds to his already broken heart.Victor Pastore, the crime boss enters into his life with an attempt to help him but with a price. After returning to New York to bury his mother, he see his childhood friend Nikki Pastore. Nikki the heroine and daughter of the mafia boss had a lives a fairly good life. The characters in this book are amazingly written, and the chemistry between Mikey and Nikki was unusual and unpredictable even if Victor is a selfish prick....The characters are very believable especially in their situations and their reactions to things as they are revealed. The prologue pulls the reader in with great expectation and suspense, however; was lost but the author picked it up after the first three chapters. Overall, I recommend this book to all that love the mafia scene and looking forward to reading Anthony and Adrianna's story.

5 Passionate and Intense Mafia Stars

Janine Infante Bosco really brings Mafia to the forefront. Believable and intense, you think you know these characters … but do you? I loved the way Janine always kept me hanging and captivated as to what was going to happen next.

Michael and Nikki’s story is one of passion and electricity.

Michael has had it rough ever since his father died. Being the underboss to one of the mob’s biggest gangsters will do that to you.

His circumstances are not good and he is forced to move back with the Pastore Mob family.

Nikki Pastore is the mob boss’s youngest daughter who remembers Michael as her idol. Things haven’t changed much – only that they have both grown into adults. And once they reunite – the passion and the lust they feel towards each other is on fire.

There is so much drama filled within these pages, not to mention excitement, sexy hot scenes and characters you will want to love and hate.

I recommend you read it yourself to understand the intensity, history and the emotion behind Michael and Nikki’s story.

It was an amazing mafia romance which was filled with so much more than blood and death.

What happens to Michael and Nikki? Will they get a HEA?

Janine’s writing style will draw you in from the first word and leave you wanting more at the end.

A deliciously sexy and suspenseful mafia romance not to be missed.

Recommended read.

I was pleasantly surprised by this novel. I don’t normally go for mob-type romances, not really from any aversion but from simple lack of interest. I like other types of stuff more. However, I wanted to pick this up and I was pleased I did.

The Good:

This is a great quick romance that I enjoyed quite well. The story line was nice and entertaining and it kept me interested from the first page.

The Bad:

The placement of punctuation was very odd. Commas missing or in the weirdest places in the sentence. So it’s a bit of a struggle to get through, but it is worth it and after a bit it isn’t as distracting once you get used to it.

The Okay:

I wasn’t a huge fan of Mikey. This is more personal taste though. In my romances I like my male protagonists a certain way, and Mikey was soooo close, but misses on certain instances. However, Mikey was probably more realistic than the book boys I usually drool over, so it’s a good thing in some ways, bad for my personal enjoyment.

The sizzle between the main characters was more potential than actualization. I didn’t feel it as much as the story seemed to promise, but it was entertaining to read and I am glad I did!

Worth it!
