Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Alpha Bully, is one of those books that i enjoy reading but hey are not particularly good. I know it and it doesn't bother me that much. In this one the writing is too messed up, repetitive and needs a good editing. But still i had a good time.

Marshall, the hero, is a jerk at first. He -and sadly the rest of the school- bullies Scarlett for years, but the past few months something is different. He catches himself, looking at her in a way he never thought possible, that makes things worse because he feels the need to lash out on her harder.

Scarlett is used to hear all the undeserving comments from her peers. Living with the hurtful and distressing remarks is her modus operandi. She can't wait for the school to end in order to leave all the pain behind and start fresh. Away from her bullies and their vile stares.

But this year nothing is quite the same. Marshall, one of her biggest bullies, seems determined
to make her love him. The bullying subsides and he tries to protect her from everything, but why now? Why after all those years? Can she even trust him? And why can't she stop dreaming of wolves that have Marshall's eyes or hear the word "mate" wherever she goes?

Marshall lost his mind the moment he saw Scarlett again and found out she is his mate. Destined to be together for eternity, and all that. Now, he has to do some serious groveling if he wants a chance at winning her heart. Will he succeed? With a new student vying for Scarlett's attention and
his hunger for her that can't be stopped, oh and let's not forget the fact that she has no idea werewolves are real.. Yeah this should be interesting.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- Their parents were likeable.
- Dual POV, but mostly told from Marshall's POV.
- I liked Jack.
- Trey was cute at first.
- The bullying shouldn't be as something bad only because she turn out to be his mate. But in general.
- I liked that she didn't trust him right away.

DNF @ 62%.

I couldn't finish this story. The h was treated very poorly by her classmates bc of her weight. She is fat shamed over and over again until I couldn't take it anymore. The h never stands up for herself and has internalized a lot of the negative things her classmates say about her. This theme of the h being fat and having low self esteem as a result is pretty common for this author. There is also slut shaming in this story and the girls portrayed are catty, vindictive, and superficial. The H was a bully to the h and only pays attention to her once he realizes she is his mate. It was so stupid.

Same heroine, same plot. If you're familiar with any of Sam's books then you know ALL OF HER HEROINES are plus sized.
Nothing wrong with that except when it becomes repetitive.

3 stars! ⭐

✔The writing was terrible.
✔The plot was unoriginal.
✔The characters were all one dimensional.
✔The villian is obviously the school slut.
*eye roll*
✔The heroine is fat, and yes she is very insecure about her weight. She gets bullied by the hero and everyone else in the class. In fact you can say that her whole personality is that she is fat. She has no identity whatsoever beyond it.
✔There were so many plot holes. (The editor was no doubt pissed while editing this book.)
✔The entire thing was very cringe-worthy.

But hey, I enjoyed it enough to give it 3 stars, despite its very obvious flaws.

1 extra star for the effort of writing this book

Because everything else was a miss

- groveling?? Where? Was the groveling in the room with us?? No babes, no!!! Just because you started to behave nice and say you're sorry does not mean you groveled! I wanted to see him suffeeeeer! Here's a thought. Her rejecting him, maybe for years, living her life, and him having to be in pain and make everything possible for her to accept his love. THAT, IF DONE RIGHT, I'D RATE 5*
- bullying trope can be done without the fat shaming and the mean girls' type of bullying; what was that!? And he had done nothing to stop that b1tch , just because she's not worth it bla bla, he's such a weak one for this; ugh, I'm annoyed all over again
- of course, he's her first everything while she's not; yeah, yeah, she's his first and only ever love bla bla bla, no thanks and bye!

Soooo, I said I'm gonna stop trying books with 18 years-olds ... but I really hoped this one is going to be great, at least on the groveling part. I should have believed the reviews 😭 never again.

Also, you can definitely spot that this was written so many years ago. The writing style was no great. But that's fine, I've read more recent works of the author's and it's absolutely way better.

Alpha Bully de Sam Crescent Serie The Alpha shifter libro 5

Argumento:

No pude imaginarme qué aspecto tenía!

Okay so i did not expect to like this book :P
actually am not a big fan of books about bullies :/
that's because i find it really stupid for someone to fall in love with a person who has been laughing at you and making your life miserable !
At the beginning, the hero was an ASSHOLE!
Then he became a wolf & found that the girl he bullied is his mate! 'Karma is a bitch xD'

What i liked is that,
The author made the character change of Marshall believable( he was really ashamed of himself) and he tried to fix his mistakes !
and also it was not just because she is his mate that he wanted her, he actually fell in love with her !

And even earlier when he was a bully and had not yet becme a wolf , he was really attracted to the heroine ! He was actually frustrated for being intrigued by her! he just did not know what was happening so he continued being an arse :P !

At the end the book i found myself not hating the hero (i still don't love him tho :P) ,
He was so sweet and caring to her !
He was also very patient !

Anyway this was enjoyable and if you want a quick read ,
Then grab this one ;)

This YA book had a very interesting premise, werewolf guy bullies a girl all through school only to find out senior year she is his destined mate. I have to say though the execution failed. First of all it was too short. There needed to be a bunch more scenes to show this asshat grovelling/proving himself
to the girl to make up for years of bullying. The writing was quite unpolished. Characterization was only so so. Plotting was thin. Conflicts weren't robust enough to really carry the story. Sentence structure was simple and at times awkward. Plus some YA marks were missed entirely. For example, no 18 year boy I've ever known would consistently call his girlfriend a woman rather than a girl or a chick or something similar.

Top tier 3 star. Again. I always say this but remember a 3 rating is a solid average-good rating. Anything above 3 to me is above and beyond.

I liked this story a lot. I’ve read a few of them in the series and they all hit the spot. I shall continue to read them. I’m halfway through fat mate now and like that one as well.

I think Scarlet is a masochist. She liked being bully despite all the desperate mewls in the whole plot that she was tortured by the bully.

She keep saying that she was sad, she hated all the situation that put her in the bully area by her friends, almost all of them, but, in the end, it wasnt gave her ANY effect at all.

When the bully, unfortunately, the hero of this book, start to notice that Scarlet was his mate, he turn from bully to protector mode and just like that.

It was sad to read this kind of book, really. Because, yes, if you've been bullied for years. YEARS. I think it will be really hard, almost imposible for you to trust people who always bulled you, always tortured you.

But not Scarlet, she was bullied for years. Badly bullied by this so called hero, and in the first attempt he was nice to her, she was like, pathetically, open her arms to this kindness.
It wasn't her saying that spell it all, it was her behavior. She keep saying that she can't trust him but she act like it was okay to trust him.

This book, really make me sad and angry because bully victim will never act like Scarlet. Especially when they were bullied so bad. She will never trust the bully even when they tried to be good to her. One part of their mind will always suspicious with the bully's next motives.

This book will be so great if Scarlet did not surrender this quick. This quick surrender make the bully look like a joke. And for the bully hero, everything went so smooth for him. Not too much drama for him. His victim aka his mate was in his hand smoothly. And the author killed the side character was a huge no no.

If I write this book, I'll make Trey's character outstanding. Make him the real angel. Make Scarlet take a grudge tightly for her bullied years. Make Marshall sweating so much so we all know how hard and how his acts was so bad almost can't be tolerated. Scarlet will not be in romance relationship with Trey of course, but the will be as close as best friend. Scarlet will trust Trey with everything in her and that was hurt the Alpha Bully most, because of what he did to Scarlet cut deep in her heart and mind and he will fight so hard, when I said so hard, it really mean so hard to gain Scarlet's trust again.

This book just....disappointed.

In a departure from her usual storyline the author has written a Y/A tale. I was a little apprehensive before reading it, not only because of that. But the hero Marshall has badly bullied the heroine Scarlett. They're both highschool students, Scarlett is plumper than some of the other girls at school, and is consistently bullied by the popular crowd of which Marshall is the accepted leader. Marshall and his friend Jack are wolf shifters whereas everyone one else at school is human. When Marshall turns eighteen he has his first transformation into a wolf. It's then he discovers that Scarlett is his destined mate. But she hates him.

My initial worries about whether the author could redeem the hero turned out to be needless as I think she did a great job. This was a romantic read that was tender and sweet. I really liked the characters, especially Scarlett who had a backbone and wasn't going to easily forgive Marshall. I liked Marshall's friend Jack as well it would be nice to have his story.

Read this book a while ago and I remember most of the story. It was like a teen dream drama to me that was sweet but not good. It consisted of all the boring stuff teens do while going to school. Not really my Thing. I don't really care for teen drama. Also what was with the whole secret guy from out of town then the story line was dropped. It was a very boring book with the sex with condom coming after marriage. The whole " he is wolf story" was done so quickly after we had to hear about gym class, math class and lunch time!? What now you speed it up? When I wanted more details you gave me none. I did not find this a very satisfying book for an adult. For a teen maybe!? That's the target audience here. I don't recommend this book to anyone pass their teens.

Sam Crescent is hit and miss for me. This was a hit. It was a basic hit, straight to the gut, nothing fancy but it worked. I love the enemies to lovers. I love the unpopular versus the popular. And I think the being set in school did this book a great favour in that the lack of sex scenes allowed a stronger focus on writing technique and character development. This hit my spots and it hit them well.

This was a surprisingly clean book from SC. H/h are both still in high school. H bullied h for the better part of 5 years even though he has always felt an attraction to her. He realized she is his mate after his first wolfy transition.

H was a teen manwhore while h is the typical bbw virgin.

I will freely admit that I do judge a book by it's cover and this cover was so far from the couple in this book, what happened to the fat 18 year old?.

While I am here, what is up with Sam only writing fat heroines?. It is becoming a bit boring now.

I like the plots that Sam creates for all her books, that is why I keeping reading her books hoping that one of the books I will actual love, but her execution of the story is soo lacking, there seems to be some vital part of the story missing.

Firstly, this heroine Scarlett, was a complete and total doormat, not only was she fat but I was not given a description of her where she was at least attractive. Her mannerisms certainly did not make her attractive. She was not strong or witty or smart. Cheryl kept getting the best of her and the wounded look was becoming tedious. Scarlett had no friends which bothered me as I found this to be pathetic rather than sad(I know I am being harsh, but come on!!!) and this shows the type of person you are. I mean not 1 person, in a school full of different personalities, wants to be a friend or even a study buddy with her. What I will give Scarlett credit for, was that she didn't freak out and run and hide when she found out about Marshall, she stood by him. Good on her, finally a backbone!!!!.

Marshall, I was also not a fan, his bullying put me off him and I just couldn't like him. Maybe if Scarlett made him suffer a little I could have grown onto him.

And what's up with us being told that Scarlett's parents are doctors about 5 times?.

Anyway, this was an okay read. Nothing to run out the doors to buy. Wait patiently until your library has it.

Surprisingly good.

For Scarlett Fields school is a nightmare, she has no friends and is bullied constantly just because she happens to be curvier than her peers, two of the main culprits are Marshall and his best friend Jack/Jake (depending on which page you're on) and this was my main problem with this book I didn't know if I'd actually be capable of liking Marshall after the way he treated Scarlett, but I didn't to worry it was written in such a way that it gradually won me over and by the end I was absolutely loving him.
Marshall changes over the summer, he goes through his first shift and realises that the girl he's bullied is now his mate and he knows what a huge mistake he's made and wonders if he'll ever be able to bring her round.
I loved this book it's a different read from this author but it works really well, I'm hoping Jacks book is next.

Alpha in progress, Marshall Briggs had been warned by his dad one two many times to reign in his teenage behavior, it could nip him in the butt when he meets his mate. After his first shift, Marshall is back in school for his senior year and getting the feel for his life as a full shifter. However, he never expected to find his mate and the girl who he is meant to spend his life treasuring, is none other than Scarlett who he has spent years bullying along with the whole school.

I liked this one a lot. Scarlett doesn't trust Marshall when he starts being nice to her, she is waiting to see where she becomes the punchline. Marshall is ashamed at his behavior, yes he was young but he intentionally hurt his mate. Quite different from the other Sam Crescent's books I have read so far.

★★
** SPOILERS **

description

Great book! The hero had to do some major groveling to make up for the way he treated his mate (he didn't know she was his mate then) in the past. This is a slow burn, but a quick read. Loved it.

The couple: Marshall and Scarlett

Romance genre: bully; shifter; fated mates
Part of a series: yes (Alpha Shifter)
Length: 116 pages

Plot: Marshall and Scarlett are in high school (and in fact have always gone to school together, since elementary). Marshall is a wolf shifter, although no humans no about him. He's also a bully. He and his friends, and really everyone in the school, bully Scarlett because of her weight. She's such a good person, but nobody takes the time to see that. Marshall is about to make his first shift, and after he does, when he goes back to school for the first time, he smells his fated mate - Scarlett. He realizes in horror what he's done, and completely changes his ways in an effort to woo his mate.

Character development: Well, Marshall makes a huge change in his behavior because there's no way his mate will want him if he's her bully, and more than that, he needs to be a good person to deserve Scarlett. Scarlett, on the other hand, has to learn to trust Marshall, which isn't easy, given their history.

Would I read more from this author/in this series: yes

I hate bully romances in general; they cause such a sick feeling in my stomach to think of people suffering like that and of some people being that cruel. Garbage human beings. I think that's why I enjoy Sam Crescent's bully romances - the bullying doesn't last very long and then the groveling starts. What I really liked about this story is that Marshall never really felt sorry for himself. He knew what he did was wrong and why and set out to make things right. He was all in. Yes, he probably wouldn't have changed if Scarlett wasn't his fated mates, but baby steps, right? She is making him a better person just by virtue of spending time with him; she can't help but to be a good example.

Marshall has been bullying Scarlett for years. Marshall was not the only one who has been bullying Scarlett. Scarlett has been bullied by her classmates for being fat. Marshall is turning 18 and is going through the change of becoming a wolf.. As he is going through the change of becoming a wolf, he has yet to find his mate since he is destined to be the alpha of his pack. When Marshall gets close to Scarlett, he realizes that Scarlett is his mate. He grovels for the way he treated Scarlett, but Scarlett is not so quick to forgive and forget and she does not trust Marshall. It is killing Marshall that Scarlett feels like this about him.

This was an okay read. It was not bad, but it was not epic. I loved the premise. I loved the groveling. I am not sure about Jack, Marshall's BFF. He is a bit of a follower. Not sure if there is a book about him.

Alpha Bully by Sam Crescent was a great read and I really love the story idea of a bully (who is also an alpha wolf) who finds out after he shifts that his mate is none other than the girl he’s bullied for years.

Marshall and Scarlett are so cute together, and I enjoyed seeing Marshall realize the error of his ways and how he actually hurt Scarlett. He spends the story trying to show Scarlett he’s changed and that he’s the guy for her. Scarlett at the same time is trying to figure out if Marshall is being truthful and falling for him at the same time.

My favorite part is near the end… it is so sweet and cute. I can’t say more because I think you have to read it for yourself. My only qualm about this book was that it was so short. I wish there was more.

Marshall is the Alpha Bully and spends this entire book groveling. He was awful to Scarlett but when the change comes and he turns into his wolf, he recognizes Scarlett as is. Too bad he's been a total jerk to her.

“But I’m going to prove to you I’m a changed person, Scarlett. I’m going to prove to you that when you’re in pain, hurt, crying, you’re going to come to me. I’ll take care of you. I’ll be the one you depend on.”

I enjoyed the grovel. It was so satisfying!! However, I feel kind of cheated out of steam lol. They were young I suppose but there's only one full scene at the end. Alpha Bully was entertaining but I did want more of their "after."

Very Good... I couldn't drop the e-book until I finished, I couldn't concentrate on anything else...
Sam, you stole my heart with this ebook ... Beautiful from beginning to end ... 🥰🥰🥰
Perfect, in love, adorable....
Marshall Briggs e Scarlett...
Um tema forte, bullying.. Algo que é muito frequente na colégio.. E nesse e-book, conseguimos ver a consequência disso...
Passionate about the book... 🥰🥰
