Hm...I...uh...have thoughts on this. Just not sure how to organize them. Here goes nothing...so after all of the warnings and advisories leading in, I was fully prepared for some truly depraved sexual acts. And, don't get me wrong, the sex was written very well between our antagonist, 'Silver Mask' and our not-so-final girl, Sadie. Hot stuff and got my blood flowing so early in the morning, but it wasn't anything really intense, making me feel a bit let down. A serial killer, in costume, in a haunted house, with a girl that he has trapped, after murdering her friend? Like this should've gotten really out of hand nasty. But it never quite got there. However, what we got, as far as the sex, was definitely the highlight, as the rest of the story greatly suffered from a lack of proper development. Things like Sadie not having much of an emotional response after realizing her friend was killed, still more focused on Silver Mask than anything else. And I wanted a lot more on her fetish for this kind of thing. Maybe the book starts with a scene of her masturbating to Leatherface or something like that before she heads to the haunted house, to just really emphasize her kink. Anything would have sufficed. But it just all felt quite choppy and didn't find a decent flow. The ending was also a huge letdown and further took a solid, unnerving erotica concept like this, reducing it to a haphazard romance, with no real resolution or logic. Good premise, but a very mediocre and confusing follow through.
