Just LOOK at this blood-soaked cover. I'm honestly shocked this YA series from 1993 was allowed to be published hahaha!!

Diabolical sociopath Bobby is back, per the book title, and out to get the remaining members of "the Five" after having killed one of them in part 1. When the gang pull a horrible prank gone wrong on him at age 12, it leads to a series of really sad and effed-up events, and he vows to one day get even….and get even he does, years later, as a fuggin' sadistic and crazed 19 year old.

This time he goes after Ben, the jock of "the Five", and pulls all the stops to befriend him and earn his trust before completely upending his life and...well you'll just have to read and see. The genius part of this series is you start to become invested in the victims, and empathize with them, hoping they make it out alive. But ultimately there's really no escaping Bobby's sick wrath.

Also for those of you enjoy RAT HORROR....there's an especially skin-crawling surprise for you in the end 🐀🐀🐀

That ending!

So many fun moments. Weight machine. Rats. Cat tail. Window. The bloody hand!

So much retro stuff too: floppy disk. Answering machine. Computers with modems.

(I first read the third book in this trilogy when I was a teenager and loved it. I read the first one next, but my library didn't have the second. Now, thanks to Amazon used books I have them all and I finally read the whole series in order.)

Finally! I achieved my teen goal of reading this book. After all the build up, well, it was just okay. The writing was rather sloppy (shocking) and the plot was pretty uneven. Plus I don't think Ben was scared to death so much as simply crushed by a barbell. But quibbles aside, it was fun to read after all these years.
