Sommarlovet är äntligen här, men för pumavandraren Carag är livet mer turbulent än någonsin. Fabeldjurens klubb planerar en träff där de ska förvandla sig offentligt, något som måste förhindras till varje pris. Samtidigt jagas rådet av en grupp människor som kallar sig Sanningssökarna, ett gäng aggressiva konspirationsteoretiker som vill avslöja Woodwalkervärldens existens. Och som om inte det vore nog håller ett skogsföretag på att skövla ner skogen på Carags pumafamiljs revir. När allt är svårt vänder sig Carag till sin trygga punkt Tikaani men deras förhållande knakar i fogarna. Ich bin Jahrgang 1970, habe in Frankfurt Amerikanistik, Anglistik und Germanistik studiert und ein Volontariat im Lektorat des Campus-Verlages absolviert. Mehrere Jahre lang war ich erst freie Journalistin, dann Redakteurin des Magazins changeX, das sich mit Wandel in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft beschäftigt. Mit meinem Mann und 2006 geborenen Sohn lebe ich in der Nähe von München und arbeite als Autorin und Lektorin. Wenn ich nicht gerade Bücher schreibe (meine Lieblingsbeschäftigung), halte ich Schreibworkshops und Lesungen.
Veröffentlicht habe ich unter meinem richtigen Namen neben unzähligen Artikeln (viele davon in der Süddeutschen Zeitung) und Kurzgeschichten (z.B in Anthologien von Carlsen, cbj/Random House und Ueberreuter) zahlreiche Sachbücher für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene, die meine breit gefächerten Interessen widerspiegeln. Seit der Geburt meines Sohnes schreibe ich auch Bilder- und Vorlesebücher.
Unter dem Pseudonym Katja Brandis habe ich eine ganze Reihe von Jugendromanen verfasst, hauptsächlich Abenteuerromane, Thriller und Fantasy ab 12, wie zum Beispiel Gepardensommer (Ueberreuter Verlag), Ruf der Tiefe, Vulkanjäger sowie Und keiner wird dich kennen (alle Beltz & Gelberg). Unter dem Namen Siri Lindberg ist mein erster Erwachsenenroman (Fantasy) beim Piper Verlag herausgekommen.
Als ich das letzte Mal nachgezählt habe, bin ich auf über 50 veröffentlichte Bücher gekommen. Hat mich auch ein bisschen erstaunt. Aber wenn man sein Hobby zum Beruf gemacht hat, dann freut man sich Montag früh darauf, dass die Arbeitswoche nun wieder losgeht …

5 Sterne einfach nur dafür, dass das Buch mir gewidmet wurde.

And I’ve finished yet another one! The last one that’s been translated to swedish, so far.
I must say, unlike the previous series, this series draws a lot of parallels with the real world. Not only the Club of Fabled Animals, but also the Seekers of Truth.
In this one both of those groups play a very big part. Because shit really hits the fan for the Club of Fabled Animals. They gather, and even though some of them have good intentions with the meeting for sure! Some, Diabolo in particular, do not. Diabolo seems to hate both regular humans and woodwalkers/seawalkers for some reason. A reason we have yet to find out. But he is a teen, so he does not have much power… yet…
There’s still Lydia Leenox, and she’s going the political route to cause havoc this time. I did not expect her to go so far as to become a part of the Council, but here we are. That’s not gonna end well, I fear.
But the biggest impact in this story is clearly… The Seekers of Truth. They remind me so much about groups of people both today and in history. That as soon as there’s something they don’t understand or doesn’t follow their norms… they grab their pitchforks and weapons and kills kills kills. Which they almost do here in this book! Things are getting quite tense!
Also, there’s our old enemy Andrew Milling. I like how we got more background to him, honestly. He really DOES have an honest to goodness friend, even if said friend abandoned him when Andrew's family was killed by a hunting party. I wonder, if said friend had stuck around and helped Andrew with his grief and depression, had him become a kinder person then? A question we’ll never get an answer to. And we’ll see if the (very interesting) talks Andrew has had with this friend has changed him or not? It’s not quite clear yet…
And in the midst of all this, there’s Carag. He is still one of the weakest characters, but here’s something quite human about him, despite him being a woodwalker. Because since he is doing all these assignments or missions for the Council, it puts a strain on his relationship with Tiikani, his girlfriend. And they go on a break in their relationship. Teen feelings all over the place and a fear of losing her sets in! And it was not as cheesy as it sounds, but was actually quite well written!
Also there’s Kimberly, damn girl… I feel for you so much!
A lot more happens, of course, but yeah. This book was slightly better than the previous one! A few twists at the end there, that I should have seen coming but still liked! Gonna keep my eyes out for the last one in this series once it is translated!
