This was an enjoyable Christmas caper with Kitty and her husband, rather then the rest of her detective friends. Although that being said, her brother Richard, did get to lend a hand.
A small church requests that Kitty investigate the theft of a very old carved angel, important to the congregation at Christmas services. The minister requested that Scotland Yard not be involved, but Kitty requests her husband’s help. Together the two, with the help of Kitty’s brother Richard, try to retrieve the sacred statue. A quick Christmas read.
Kitty and Richard solve another theft. And, in the process, deliver two wonderful gifts to the church and its members. The Christmas Angel restored and needed improvements made to the church building. And to all a very Merry Christmas.

Magda Alexander always writes clever, cozy fiction books. Kitty Worthington is my favorite. Easy to read with great characters and a tidy wrap-up at the end.
Not the best. I dislike the use of phrases common in the 21st century. Unheard of in the early 20th. Ruins the flow of the story which was trite and predictable
